They have horrible customer service, and they stole my makeup case that was accidentally left, that I have called about Several times and No one will call me back. They said the AGM and the Housekeeping Manager would call me back and they have not yet. We checked out Saturday 3/21/2020! I have never had this kind of treatment from a Hampton Inn, but I can guarantee I will NEVER be back to this location!

Very nice hotel, but not good for buses there is a small parking and it is up the hill.

Took shelter here during a recent tornado warning and the staff was more than helpful and professional, they had towels available for my children to dry off, they even allowed them to have cereal.

Nice hotel. The only disadvantage is if you are looking to be near the downtown area in walking distance of everything going on you have to drive and pay for parking. Great if you want to be away from the crowd.

My husband and I stayed overnight. The front desk staff was very courteous, however, we felt very hurried by the housekeeping staff to leave the next morning before checkout time. The bwds veee very hard and uncomfortable. The breakfast was enjoyable.

Do not stay here. Plenty of hotels and bed-and-breakfast says in Athens to stay at. This has the worst management I have ever dealt with. I own several small successful businesses and deal with customers every single day. This is the worst experience I have ever had. In July I called and booked one room for a friend who needed a place to stay. I clearly told the representative I am paying for one night and one night only. The very next morning at 10 o’clock in the morning I called the hotel back and spoke to the agent who was at the desk. I wanted to clarify that the person I had paid the room for needed to leave because I was not paying for any more nights. Just that one night. In the end, after me having to call numerous times in weeks I finally got a hold of Gary the manager. He said he would take care of this for me but he did not. They charged me for five nights. Five. I got a credit for 3 nights but was still charged for 2 nights. Gary told me I would have to dispute it through my bank. Awesome. I clearly told the agents at the desk one night only. They have charged me for 2 and now I have to dispute this through my bank. Do not stay here.

Place was clean and rooms were good. Not a bad price for a Hampton Inn. Ladies behind the desk did a great job and answered the questions about food for the night. Avoid the bar in Shades at all cost unless you are or have a locale. I would even suggest going to Texas Roadhouse before Shades.

Recently renovated, with new carpet, paint, and furniture. Clean and fresh. Seems to be an older Hampton, so rooms are small and cramped. Less than ideal location on the strip-mall end of Broad Street. When we visited, the pool was full of algae. For now, the Best Western is a better choice.

This was the first time I had stayed at this hotel because I normally stay at the OU Inn when I visit Athens. It was nice to have the option of breakfast in the morning. The hotel room was spacious and clean. The staff at the front desk was friendly. I enjoyed being able to walk to the farmers market on Saturday. Overall the experience was great.

Had a hard time getting my room key to work, needed to have it reset 6 times during my 2 night stay. The staff was very helpful in resolving my issue. Room was clean and breakfast was good.

Staff is very friendly. Rooms are spacious and include both a microwave and mini fridge. Beds are soft and rooms are clean. Morning breakfast was likewise typical for hotels but well done with many options constantly being restocked.

The staff has been great, rooms clean and comfortable. The pool was appreciated.

I stayed Athens for a work trip in Wellston, OH. I have stayed at the Quality Inn in Jackson, OH in the past because it is closer to Wellston, but even though Athens is 40mins to Wellston vs the 10mins from Jackson, I think it is worth staying in Athens for the increase in quality and food options. This hotel was a great place to stay and I enjoyed their indoor pool and hot tub. It is very close to a good selection of places to eat and/or grab a drink. I definitely plan on staying here again in the future.

Mostly clean facility, friendly staff. Beds are old and very uncomfortable. Bath room had mold on the upper parts of the walls from no ventilation.

Good Hampton Inn. Currently (06/03/2018) under renovation, but that hasn't impacted the stay (no extra noise, etc. ). Sponsor of Nelsonville Music Festival!

We stayed here over Memorial day weekend. The staff were all very friendly, each time we needed something from housekeeping, we got everything super quickly. The room was very nice and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was great. I highly recommend the breakfast burritos. Our whole group really enjoyed those.

I was there as an overnight guest and everything was fine. It was nice to be able to walk across the parking lot to Applebee's.

Hotel is in the middle of a much needed remodel as room was showing a lot of wear. Bathroom was wore and room had a small smell. Coffee pot was missing parts so wasn't able to use and keycard to room had to be reset as it wasn't working. Staff was friendly and hotel was clean but wore. The main road not owned by them is full of potholes so be ready for a rough ride. Hotel has a small store with food for sale but desk. A office center fitness room and has breakfast in the morning.

If the ice machine on our floor were working, it would be 5 stars, but Reno has to happen some time. Comfortable, clean and friendly, spacious bath, walk-in shower big enough for 4. Would recommend to a friend, and you can glimpse deer on the hillside out back. I’m sure we will be back.

This was a really nice Hampton Inn. The rooms were clean. The staff was friendly. If staying in Athens I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The front desk was very nice and helpful. Very clean and well maintained. My kids loved swimming in the pool.

This Hampton inn was under construction. (I feel like a lot of them are? ). That didn't take away from the friendly staff, the clean room and the hot breakfast. I will continue to be a little Hampton inn customer.

This hotel ruined our weekend. Upon arrival, we changed into our bathing suits to use the pool. The pool was fine except there were ants crawling all around it. Afterwards, we went back into the room to use the jacuzzi tub. It was dirty, and there were a couple of lady bugs crawling around. I called the front desk. They said there were no other jacuzzi rooms available, there was no one to clean it for us, and they offered to drop off cleaning supplies. In exchange for us to clean our own room, they offered to refund our room stay. Later that night, we pulled out the sofa bed for our 3 year old to sleep in and saw mouse poop on the bed and someone else's clothes beneath it. So, our son shared the bed with us. I woke up a couple hours later scratching my arms and neck. I checked in the bathroom mirror to find big welts on my skin. I woke up my wife to show her. We searched the bed and found bed bugs. I put it in a Ziplock bag to show the front desk. They didn't seem too concerned. However, they did offer to switch our rooms, Hilton honors points, or a voucher for a free stay. I declined all and said we were leaving, and I wanted a refund. They said it would take 7-10 days since I pre-paid. I asked for trash bags for all of our things so I could seal them up. After I came back up our room, my wife had woken our 3 year old and found more bed bugs and ants. We sealed everything in trash bags, packed the car, and left around 11:00pm for our three hour drive home.

Prices are reasonable, their breakfast is not continental, so on any given morning there are different choices. Rooms are well maintained, whirlpool in the room worked, and the service of the staff was really good.

Rooms were very well appointed and in excellent condition. We paid a little extra for a larger room with a couch and we were very pleased. Other motels in Athens leave a lot to be desired so beware when staying in the area.

Nice room, friendly service and two thumbs up for the happy hour snack! Only negative is the fitness center needs equipment maintenance. Only one working trendmill and it's belt system causes unexpected speed reductions.

Super clean, great staff, typical hotel breakfast. SURPRISED by the traffic noises. F150 county and they all seem to like the loud exhaust systems. Kind of made it hard to get to sleep.

Our room was 2 queen beds, very clean, very friendly staff. We used the pool. Enjoyed the free breakfast, coffee was available 24/7, as well as infused water. Entire hotel was immaculate.

I am a repeat customer of this hotel. Once again, the staff was very helpful. Room was great — plenty of electrical outlets, and the TV and Internet service worked well. Breakfast was free: no frills, but quite good. It's an easy walk/short drive to nearby restaurants and shopping.

Rooms are clean, beds are fine, pillows a little lumpy/hard for my taste. Coffee was fine, breakfast was as expected. Staff was wonderful. Location is convenient. Rated a 4 because they do not have a shuttle. No other issues. I would stay again!

Nice location near the university. Rooms were wvery clean and well kept. Gym was stocked with dumbbells and other equipment I don't typically see at a hotel. No complaints at all!

Every employee here is wonderful, but if you are a business person, you cannot stay here. This stay cost me thousands of dollars. I was stranded in Athens this week, and I though that the Hampton might be the best place to get some work done. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi is so slow, it is virtually unusable. I spent two days in the business center, but literally everything is screwed up in there. One computer shuts down every fifteen minutes, the other shuts down intermittently, and both shut down if you stop typing for more than 60 seconds. The Internet (landline) is terrible. The Microsoft versions are so old, I can barely figure out how to use them. One of the mouses doesn't work at random intervals. Both computers freeze. I think I would have been better off washing dishes somewhere for a few extra bucks.

My stay was very short here as I got in around 0200, but it appears to be one of the more modern Hampton Inns. Front desk staff were very friendly, and room was clean. Hotel is nicely situated on a hill, so it looks out over the outskirts of Athens. One nice thing about being in a College town, there are a dozen places that deliver well into the early morning.

We were here for a square dance convention, but stayed a few extra days waiting for Hurricane Irma to blow by. The hotel was fully booked with other fellow Floridians escaping the storm, and I am sure the staff was stressed worrying about their own homes and families. With all that going on, everyone remained friendly and professional, and always had a kind word and a smile. We stay at Hamptons whenever we can, and this hotel is a shining example of why.

We had to evacuate for Irma, they were making exceptions with pets, they waived our cancellation fee when we had to cut the stay short, and went out of our way to make us as comfortable as possible. The sweet blonde lady that works at the desk was so helpful and nice. Definitely nice to see such a positive person after that trip. As far as the hotel itself, it's located on W Broad which connects to seemingly everything, so you are just around the corner to everything you need. Rooms are clean and tidy, no noise, friendly crew! If you like your room dark, it gets DARK.

This is a very beautiful hotel with spectacular views of the Hocking Hills. The staff is wonderful, especially Chazz, who goes out of his way to make your stay a fabulous one. The swimming pool is really fun and the hot tub is amazing! The beds are very very comfortable. The cleaning staff does a great job keeping the rooms nice, clean, and comfortable. My only complaint would be that the breakfast is not very good AT ALL. Other than that, very nice hotel. My go to spot when I'm in Athens.

Had a very nice room and the gym was really nice. It was in a busy urbanish area but it didn't bother me. It was a nice place to stay.

Location is excellent within walking distance to choices of restaurants and some fast food places. I would not get a room facing the street again-too much traffic noise. Services was what I expected from Hampton Inn.

It's one thing when issues happen. It's another when the hotel staff just sort of shrugs about it, promises some sort of discount, then barely delivers. We stayed in this Best Western for three nights. For two of those nights, we had no hot water, and a staff who just didn't seem to care. First, it was written off as a problem with our shower (though we explained that the sink wasn't delivering hot water, either). When the attendant noticed this for himself (even though we had already told him), he just shrugged and said the maintenance crew was gone for the day. It turns out that several other travelers checked in late and reported the same, at which point it was taken seriously. But when the same problem happened again the next night, the attendant simply stopped answering the front desk phone. (I walked around to the front desk to see if he was there. He was. He simply ignored the phone). We were promised some discount on our stay to make up for the cold showers we had to take two days in a row. In the end, they only comped us our pet fee, which was trivial to begin with.

Very nice hotel. Clean room. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast and snacks are good. My only issue was room rate. The pool did not have water in it during my stay and there isnt much in the area where the hotel is. $113 a night seemed a little high. $90 would have been better.

Great place with great rooms. The front desk was super nice and helpful. Young people full of happiness. I didn't get a chance to have breakfast, but it sounded great as well. There are some great places to eat in the same parking lot as well. Overall two thumbs up!

My husband and I were looking for a hotel that supplied cribs because we have an infant daughter. We chose this one because it advertised that it provided baby cribs. Once we got to the hotel and checked in, we were told that they did not have cribs; despite the advertisement on their site and in the pamphlet in the hotel room stating they did. As an "attempt" to accommodate us, we we're given a disgusting pack'n'play that was too low for our daughter to sleep in. My husband ended up going to walmart and buying a bassinet. My family and I will never stay at Hampton Inn ever again and I would not recommend it to anyone who has an infant child/children. You would be better off staying somewhere else.

My family loves staying at Hampton Inns. Hot breakfast and complimentary Wi-Fi is included for all guests. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The employee managing breakfast made a custom s'mores treat for a toddler as a special, surprise treat. There is always hot coffee and water available in the lobby for all guests. Also, before heading out for our day in Athens, the staff provided snacks sacks for us: an apple, breakfast bar, muffin snack, and bottle of water. The snack sack came in handy later that morning as our energy was waning. I enthusiastically recommend this Hampton Inn.

The air conditioning controller was not working. I set at 73 degree but it was at 69 degree the whole night. When I turned it off, the air conditioner stayed on. There was ticking noise at night and it kept waking me up. The pillows were the worst. I woke up the next morning with sore neck and shoulders. Fruits on breakfast table were not fresh. They were sour and had terrible smell. Terrible experience.

The Hampton Inn and Suites was at a great location on Board Street and Hawthrone with a nice shopping area just a few hundred yards below and plenty of restaurants near by as well, all while being on about 5 minutea from Downtown, Prince, Epps Bridge and the Mall (basically in the middle of all the places you might want go go in Athens). Not only was the location great, but the staff truly welcoming; meeting any and all needs that me and my girlfriend had. I would absolutely stay there again.

One of the best Hamptons we've stayed in. Jackson, at the front desk was extremely courteous and helpful. The room was a little smaller than most Hampton Inns, but we weren't running sprints in it. The hotel and rooms were clean, beautifully decorated and well appointed. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed in this hotel on Saturday August 1st … the staff was nice and very helpful. They allowed us to check in early before 3:00 and that was appreciated. We wonder now in hindsight if that was the best thing to do. There was gum stuck to the floor or (something that looked like gum) in front of the couch and the bathroom wasn't very clean. The bathtub didn't drain well and you could see mold or dirt whatever it was in he corners of the tub and on some tile and around the metal bar in the shower. That comes from not being cleaned correctly in awhile not just that one time. I wiped some of it off to see if it would come and it did. Other than that it wasn't a bad stay. For the staff alone I would recommend it.

Apart from no free Wi-Fi, this is an amazing place to stay. Definitely great experience. I would recommend this place to everybody I know.

Top notch. Breakfast is good. Internet is quick and easy. The staff is courteous and helpful. So nice to be greeted by a competent and cheerful front desk even at 2AM! Great place to stay all around. Nothing special but a good room and a nice breakfast.

Besides the usual excellent service and accommodations, the staff at this Hampton Inn were incredibly accommodating when my son came down with a stomach bug. I asked for a late checkout because he was still sleeping. At the time, I wasn't sure if I could continue my cross country drive with him. We might have needed to extend our stay. The staff was as helpful as I could imagine. They granted the extension and then some. As we left, the manager and clerk both wished us fair travels and joined us in relief that our trip could continue. To elaborate a little, their breakfast is delicious (not 'the usual' continental breakfast). They had a few real gems that made it excellent. There was greek yogurt and 'regular' yogurt. They had american fries and 'bagel toppers' which were half bagels with cheese and eggs on top (apparently freshly cooked too! ) There was fresh fruit in addition to all the usuals — — waffles, cereal, oatmeal and juice. The room was very clean an comfortable. There is a pool (apparently very nice though I didn't use it) and an exercise room. All around a surprisingly good experience despite the bad circumstances. I have been to many Hampton Inns and this one was among the best. It was close to UGA where we had to go several times a day and the staff was so friendly and helpful! Especially in light of the fact that we had 20 teenage girls with us! Would highly recommend.

Let it be said that I love this hotel chain, however my last 2 visits to Hampton inn this week was a little disapointing. I used my AARP mebership to book a room (aarp is 50 plus). I was given a room with on the first floor with a bathroom for disabled people. It was right next to the parking and of course people opening and locking their car (horning beeping) was veru annoying.

Excellent — — great indoor pool, great indoor jacuzzi, wonderful bathrooms in room, free wireless, good breakfast, good fitness room, WONDERFUL beds in room. I will be back for every single trip I take to Athens.
