The staff is very accommodating, friendly and efficient. The lobby is massive but made to feel cozy with fireplaces and rocking chairs, big leather sofas and club chairs. I would wholeheartedly recommend Lied Lodge.

We had a great time at the Lied Lodge and will definitely be back! Atmosphere was perfect, front desk was very helpful and the food was spot on!

We came for our first time for our 40th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful time. The hotel rooms were adorable. Everything was great.

Scenery, rooms, lodge, wedding venue, breakfast… all superb. The added bonus of the tree house tour was priceless. A great getaway!

Our family have met to celebrate my mother's birthday at the Lied Lodge the past 2 years. Both were quite memorable and exactly what my Mother had in mind for a wonderful birthday. Dinner was very good, breakfast even better. Family members enjoyed swimming, the hot tub and the workout room. It's always nice to sit on the comfy furniture and just get caught up.

We love staying at the lodge in the spring absolutely gorgeous. The restaurant has amazing food. The kids the rooms and pool.

Love this town and all the beauty of the Arbor Foundation from Morton Mansion to the Lied grounds. Such a relaxing getaway for my husband and I. We had massages, they were really good but my only downer is that the massage therapist was not a very happy person.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Lied lodge and conference center The first weekend of this month April 2019. Great food, very nice rooms, great outdoor trails and landscape is beautiful.

Walked around the lobby and gift shop, mostly to show a friend who was visiting from out of town. I've stopped by many times over the years, it's a beautiful building to see! We walked the trail from there to Arbor Day Farms, it was a bit rainy but still perfect-all the dewy plants and glistening wooden bridge-lovely!

It's a beautiful location with very nice rooms. We went for a retreat. As it was paid for I can't attest to the value. I did hear that there was an issue with something our coordinator booked. They did not read the contract properly at the time and found the issue the night before. The people at the lodge did everything to make it right and in the end everything did work out. Food was good, but some people complained about the price of dinner in our group. I had skipped out on that only trying their lunch and breakfast buffet which I felt was fine. They have omelet station for the breakfast along with an assortment of hot foods, plus cereal and juices. In the evenings they have wine tasting in the lodge from arbor day farm.

Gorgeous place. Want to go back when we have more time and money. Pricey but worth it. Has all the amenities you'd need. Only thing was bathroom was really small and no microwave in room. At least in our room. We had a King bed. We just didn't have enough time to enjoy all it had to offer!

Great way to spend a day walking around Arbor Day Farm and the house and grounds at The Lodge. Good accommodations and food at the Lied Lodge. Wine tasting before dinner.

Staff is friendly, rooms are nice but if you would like a microwave in your room, like most other hotels, you need to pay for it, $10 a night or $20 for the week. Rates are reasonable. I was in awe after seeing the lodge and the interior design. Really nice. I would recommend this place. If I did not have to pay for the use of the microwave then 5 Stars.

Great place for an evening dinner out on the back patio. Dinner and drinks were amazing, they have some very unique custom cocktails. The mushroom ravioli was delicious, I highly recommend it!

Lied Lodge worked with us to plan and execute a large family celebration. Rosenow Room was the perfect venue. Excellent catering and service. Couldn't have been nicer. They paid attention to all the details and delivered on everything just as we discussed. I would definitely recommend the Lodge and would not hesitate to use them again.

Pleasantly surprised by the rooms and overall property. Rooms were not spacious but very comfortable beds and cozy, rustic atmosphere. Little on the pricey side for the area but many things to do within a short walk or drive. We had breakfast at the onsite restaurant and the service/food were excellent. Comfortable lobby area with many places to sit indoors to relax or outdoors on a large patio overlooking a heavily wooded area. Would recommend for a quiet weekend getaway or try something new outside of the Omaha/Lincoln areas, which are a short 1-2 hour drive away.

Loved the lodge. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The pool alone is worth the trip — it’s huge with a little kids pool and massive hot tub. Loved the spa as well. While the workout facility is small it sufficed for a quick Sunday morning workout away from home gym. Made to order omlettes were also outstanding before we jumped back on the road. If we are ever in NE city again we will stay at the Lodge!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful place to stay! The rooms were nice (bathroom could have been bigger), staff was super friendly, pool and hot tub were perfect and clean, and the sauna was great! Beautiful scenery, very calm, and peaceful. Enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

Absolutely breathtaking. You wont find many hotels like this one in these smaller cities. Its truly unique in its own way. Arbor Lodge fits this hotel perfectly. Its everything a log mansion I imagine, would be.

Can be a bit expensive depending on the time of year which is kind of annoying but if you catch them on a good deal weekend it's probably a 5 star review. Very nice location and beautiful area. Within walking distance of almost anything you'd want to do in the area. The restaurant was very nice and I really enjoyed the breakfasts there as it overlooks the wooded areas. Be sure to mention you don't want the handicap accessible room as it didn't look as nice as some of the other rooms. It did however make up for that with a nice big shower.

I've gone to the Lodge twice now for a Christian women's retreat we have (great discounts for us! ). The staff is very nice and helpful and the place is gorgeous! Being in Nebraska City, the hotel capitalizes on trees and nature giving us a very rustic experience with modern joys mixed in. The pool is large keeping with the large and long theme of the building, as does the dining room/restaurant area. I've only had the breakfast buffet but the food is tasty, well kept (as far as health and upkeep goes), and the tables and chairs are comfortable and naturally made with wood; keeping the tree theme. They have quite a few other buildings and attractions that will attract families and large event holders. There's an outside water attraction, park, manion, and tree adventure that groups can spend a week enjoying! You can also get married and have the reception there. I'm sure it's pricey but is love to utilize the beautiful conference cabin again! You'll have to save up some money, but I highly recommend coming here!

Stayed at Lied Lodge several times and it's always a treat. Rooms are so unique especially on the 4th floor because of the vaulted ceilings. The whole place has such a great, rustic feel and the staff are always really pleasant. It's only a short walk on a beautiful path over to Arbor Day Farm and then beyond that to Arbor Lodge State Park, which you really have to check out if you stay.

I've stayed here 3 times with my family & have LOVED it every time! The views are gorgeous, the lodge is cozy yet beautifully decorated, the restaurant has great food, etc. I don't think I've ever had a complaint during any visit. Perfect spot for conferences, family reunions, & weddings!

The best getaway in Nebraska. We have been coming to the Lied Lodge since it opened in '93 — and continuing the tradition with my family. I suggest you do the same with yours! You won't regret visiting, and won't want to leave!

Recently stayed there for a wedding. Check-in was fast. Staff was very helpful. The entire weekend was so relaxing. Wedding was on site and absolutely beautiful.

I was at the Arbor Lodge Conference Center for a few days last week for a corporate retreat and was pleasantly surprised. The service of the staff was great. The atmosphere was cozy, the food was delicious, and the views were spectacular. It was a great change of pace and I will definitely be back with my family in the future. Thank you for the great experience.

Winter time… fires in the five fireplaces! Windows that open to allow for fresh air! The worlds best coffee… truly… delicious food! Even the water tastes great! Not everyone is happy all the time, but the staff went out of their way to make it right! Great place to relax! Bring a book, turn off the electronics and just breathe!

Great place to stay. Enjoyed being off the beaten path while there and the natural wood styling is awesome! Olympic pool is great! Only challenge is rooms have huge beams in room entrances that you have to remember when waking up! Definitely recommend when in the area!

This is an absolutely beautiful place to visit if you're looking for quiet and relaxing. I visited with a church women's retreat and had a wonderful time. Our room was beautiful and the food was delicious!

I had a reunion in a meeting room here. The facilities were charming, as expected whenever a wood-burning fireplace is lit. Nothing much to complain about, though nothing much to write home about either. I ate two meals in the restaurant, and the food is pretty good. One server was wonderful, the other much less so. The rooms are clean and kept well. Sometimes lodges feel run down but these rooms didn't feel that way at all. All in all it's a nice, charming place.

My family spent an extraordinary weekend at the Lied Lodge & Conference Center! The grand architecture of the Lodge shows it roots from the Arbor Day Foundation with awesome columns from the trunks of majestic forest giants. The rooms were comfortable and well-appointed, the grounds beautiful, and the services ample for the guests needs.

The scenery alone is worth going and seeing this place. Lots of things to do outside in the spring summer and fall with trails and even treehouses to climb. There's a huge mansion that you can take a tour of. The lodge itself is very rustic.

This is a great place to relax! There's a nice wilderness trail to walk, which pops out by a little cafe and store with wine tasting. The restaurant, while doesn't have a large selection, does have great food. We eat at the bar one night and they have pork rinds made fresh. They drizzle honey over them and give you a mildly spicy pepper vinegar to dip them in. They are so good we ordered a second helping! There's a pool, baby pool and hot tub on the bottom floor, not to mention a sauna, small gym and masseuse as well. The lobby is great for sitting in and relaxing while having a beer or bottle of wine.

Overall, the staff and the grounds of the conference center were great. The rooms weren't bad, but water pressure (being a "green" hotel) was pretty lacking. Bar was a little expensive, nothing less than about 5 dollars, beer included. Pool was nice and clean, but the hot tub could have used a bit of repair.

Our church had a retreat at Lied Lodge, so my husband and I decided to take an extra day off to just enjoy the place and the surroundings. Nebraska City, NE is literally in the middle of nowhere, and Lied Lodge is secluded from it furthermore. We went in early November and it already started to get pretty cold outside. Since we came in the middle of the week, we basically had the place to ourselves, which was amazing to just sit in a rocking chair by fireplace or take a walk through the woods. Definitely come here if you want to get away. We loved the woodsy theme of the lodge decor. There are a couple of places to eat there: Library Lounge (literally, a library with tables to eat or have drinks at), and Dining Room. Oddly enough, they are not technically part of the Lodge so you want to make reservations for Dining Room. No reservations needed at the Library Lounge but your menu is not as extensive. Food is on the pricier side, but you can tell that it's fresh and made of good ingredients. The hotel has a nice pool area complete with a spa/hot tub and a kiddie pool. Additionally, there is a nice gym next to the pool. The room itself was clean with a sizable bathroom, though we got the wheel-accessible shower — not sure if all of them are that way? The bathroom counter was pretty small, and also had their coffee maker there. Which I didn't like at all.

Arrived for lunch on 10-21-17. Told "no walk ins until 1 pm. It was 12:45, and restaurant was half empty. Doesn't say anything on website except reservation suggested. Sat in the bar and ordered. Tomato soup good, up and at em burger the greasiest gross burger I have ever touched. One bite and I was done. My spouse had the turkey brie, wouldn't have it again. The sweet potato fries were good though. Will not waist a trip there again.

We went for a wedding reception. The conference center was immaculate, staff was friendly, and lodge looked nice. Already planning our own trip.

Great place. My only issue was that I was drivving 9 hours to attend a wedding at the hotel that was at 3pm but when I arrived the hotel told me that my room was not going to be ready until 4pm. Poor planning on the hotels part. Also the breakfast was by reservation only which was a tad annoying too. Everything else was great though.

Rooms are nice and staff were helpful. We were in town for a wedding and several guests went to a hotel room after the reception. Security kicked us out of that room. Went to our room with three other people and the police showed up and said it was our third warning and we would be arrested if they had to come back. Hospitality was not accommodating to large wedding parties.

I went to my best pal's wedding here and what a time we all had! Ceremony/reception/brunch/lodging are all outstanding and unique. I will cherish these memories. The Lied Lodge is fabulous (and I dont use that word often).

Beautiful, tree-surrounded location on the edge of Nebraska City. The rooms are clean and the service we've had for a conference has been phenomenal. It is evident that their staff is well-accustomed to hosting large groups with the ease and skill they have all consistently displayed. Emphasis on being energy-conscious is appreciated!

I've been going here for years as a quick getaway when I need to recharge. As usual, the staff provided thoughtful service. We enjoyed the library style charm and a game of cribbage in the lounge, and a swim in the Olympic size pool. Our room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The guests next to us were obnoxiously loud but a call to the front desk and no more worries. Always a great place to stay.

Such a beautiful place. The lodge is amazing and the rooms are very nice. The package I bought was perfect for us and the staff took care of all of my special requests. They made our stay amazing! The food in the dining room was incredible. Top notch food even on the buffet. We couldn't ask for a better place to get away. This was our second time staying here and it won't be our last.

We had a phenomenal experience at Lied Lodge. The Library Lounge has a great list of wines — by the glass and the bottle and offer great appetizers in the lounge as well.
When we went to the Timber Dining Room for dinner, we ordered the Crab Cakes and Bowtie Pasta with Chicken and paired our dinner with a very nice Sauvignon Blanc. Everything was excellent and the wait staff did a great job.
Onto the room — it was perfect. The rooms are spacious, the bedding and pillows were very comfy. The weather was ideal and we actually spent most of the evening with our patio doors open — no bugs — not sure how that happened but it definitely added to our experience.
We have stayed at Lied Lodge before and it has always been a wonderful experience and we will be back!

Attended a wedding and reception at the facility (Morton Barn). Beautiful grounds and historic buildings created a unique venue. However, was less than impressed with food service. Buffet style, had to wait for several items to be refilled, including plates. Food was ok, nothing special. Restrooms were not maintained throughout the night. A beautiful place for an outdoor or country wedding, just felt the services provided fell short.

This review is for the Timber Dining Room at the Leid Lodge. We've had dinner here over the years and have generally loved it every time. Food and service are both consistently excellent but the atmosphere is what always brings us back. It isn't necessarily a drawback but the dinner menu isn't overly large and some repeat visitors might want a bit more variety. Nightly specials are often offered. Although upscale, don't worry about dressing up. Highly recommended!

We have eaten many meals at this place over the years to include breakfast brunch and dinner. The food is always fantastic and the atmosphere is amazingly warm and inviting. We continuously recommend a visit whether to stay overnight or eat there to everybody we know. Meals are slightly pricey for the area but well worth it.

The lodge itself is beautiful. Great architecture, layout, and decor! The staff was knowledgable and friendly! Dinner and breakfast were delicious. The menu price is a little higher than I expected but was definitely worth the quality. Overall great value and experience.

Zero cell phone service with AT&T on the first floor. What kind of business center does not have cell service? Not handicap friendly, too many stairs with long dark halls. Work space in room almost nonexistent and forget relaxing in your room and watching a movie. The chair in the room is on the same wall as the TV facing away from the tv. Motel 6 is the Waldorf Astoria compared to this place.

We have been coming to the Lied Lodge for almost ten years now. It has become a family tradition to stay the night especially during the Christmas season, the kids love the brunch with Santa. Every year when we check out we reserve next years rooms. The newly remodeled rooms are very nice and all the staff is very helpful and kind.

My wife and I spent this past weekend in Nebraska City and stayed at the Lied Lodge for a wedding. Let me first say the area surrounding the hotel is great. There are miles of paths and rich forestland. That part was great. The hotel itself seemed new and clean. Staff was decently friendly but not exceptional. Our breakfast was very good and not that expensive. The reason for my average rating is simply the facilities. For example, with such a large and new hotel I would expect an outside pool, but there is only an inside one. The workout room is tiny. The rooms were new as well, but lacked the 'polish' of a better than average hotel. Our room had a basic shower, sparse toiletries, and an open sink so I couldn't wash my hands at night while my wife slept. In essence a number of small things which added up to the hotel being average opposed to exceptional. I would certainly stay at the Lied Lodge for another wedding, but I wouldn't go out of my way to seek it out just for the hotel.

The lodge and rooms are very nice since the rooms were updated recently. Not that it was bad before, just that much nicer now. We were there for a wedding, reception and overnight stay. Everything was well done. We are looking forward to returning.

Stayed in room 214 the architex, it was okay. Room service knocked a couple times in the morning when the door was proped open and people clearly inside. The wedding held just out back in front of rows of bushes. Kind of odd to havethe back of the Arbor day Lodge be filled with large bushes instead of trees. The ceremony was nice but there were multiple families on the balcony that were just other guests watching the event. Not casually during dinner watching, but standing up having kids sit on the railing watching us, just a little bit odd. Not a bad spot just off the road to Nebraska city but could definitely have better service.

I've been to the Lodge 7 or 8 times. Each experience is wonderful. The food and coffee is outstanding. The nature is beautiful and inviting. Highly recommended.

We always enjoy our stays here. The lobby chairs are very comfortable to relax in and read a book. The rooms are clean and peaceful. The back deck is nice to relax on and watch the sunset.

I feel what I must inform you that our stay in room 219 at Lied Lodge was not pleasant. My wife checked us in because I was attending a 2 day work shop at a local business. We went to dinner that first night and when we returned the room had a strong chlorine odor. It was enough to make my eyes tear up but it was late and we where tired so we went to bed. In the morning the odor had seem to go away. My wife stayed at the lodge to enjoy some quiet. But there was a problem. The pool area noise (voices and kids yelling) came through the floor and was very irritating. The second evening we returned after dinner to the same chlorine odor. It seems to build in the room as the day goes on but it was our last night and we did not want to pack up to change rooms. We have stayed at other hotels in the area but thought this time we would spend a little extra and enjoy ourselves. Needless to say we will not be returning to the Lied Lodge on our next visit to the area. Very Disappointed, Allen H.

The Lied Lodge has a nice layout and is wonderful for anyone who likes nature around the Nebraska City area. The service is great.

We enjoyed our anniversary at the lodge and was blown away by the staffs kindness. From the front desk to the restaurant. Made the perfect anniversary getaway. A few housekeeping things to improve upon: disposable cups (ones in our room still had lipstick). Spa: I booked a mud wrap and a massage. Went for our massage which was amazing, then was told they didn't have mud for it to be done.

A great overall experience from the Olympic pool to the walkout balcony room to the restaurant to the fireplace to the view from the dining room view to the piano player… whewww! The only thing that didn't meet our expectations was the spa which was still good but seemed over priced compared to the rest of the resort.

Rooms are comfy, but not fancy. Friendly staff. Food is very good (best apple pie I've ever had). Surrounding property is pretty.

This beautiful location was the perfect site for our church women's retreat. There are many trails with easy access to other area attractions. Our room was beautiful, modern and eco-friendly. The food is delicious and the staff courteous.

Great place but it seems like old retired wealthy people come here because a lot of the stuff was over priced.

We were making a cross country trip, and in an effort to find a hotel to stay at last minute, we found the Lied Lodge. We were able to get a hold of the front desk, who gave us a nice deal on the room, and let us know the lounge was still open, and we proceeded to get our gear into our rooms. The rooms are small, but they are rustic. I felt like it was a nice attempt to be true to the theme of the lodge which is an "Arbor Day Lodge". They have an Orchard and Tree House. The food was ok, the rooms are what I'd expect. I feel like I got what I paid for.

I just want to say how nice and accommodating they were to us at Lied Lodge. Though the rooms are small they made arrangements so we could get a pack n' play in the room for our granddaughter. The food was very reasonable and delicious, the hayride we took as a family was great fun, and they even mailed my phone charger back to me that had left behind. That's service! Thank you, Lied Lodge for a very nice weekend.

Made reservations 2 months in advance and did not get the rooms requested. I was told I would be able to switch my rooms for a fee; one of the rooms did not have a working shower, leaked from the ceiling; won't even mention the dining room. Poor overpriced food. For a hotel this size it is just to bad that that it is run so poorly. The front desk is staffed with young people with no customer service skills.

A lovely building and the walking trails are very nice. The level of professionalism is sadly lacking. The front desk person was not friendly or hospitable and the lounge staff was completely unprofessional. The room was cramped and dirty — lots of dust and very old pillows. For $193 after taxes we will stay somewhere else next time.

Beautiful building in great settings — that's the positive. The room was small and cramped without amenities such a fridge or table to sit at for breakfast in the room. Bathroom was not as clean as it should be. Though they have a restaurant in the hotel for all meals, there were no menus available and we had to go online to find out what's for breakfast. No room service! Noisy hallways but no sound from neighboring rooms. For a one night stay, you'll get more bang for your buck at a conventional road Motel (We paid $ 107 for an 8 hour night here which was a special corporate rate according to the hotel). I am an international hospitality consultant feeling sad when great business opportunities are missed. Perhaps it could be a great place for a longer stay if the guest are more accommodated with amenities such as menus in room, room service, help with luggage, and a space where 2 people can sit together in the room. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to enjoy the beautiful park like settings.

Excellent place! Timber room restaurant is amazing food, rooms are clean, cozy and staff is always accomidating. This was second trip but first during winter. Must check out the tree house and farm too.

Went for 3 nights over Thanksgiving. Why they got only 3 stars: 1) the first fire alarm (4 PM, grabbed coats and evacuated, false alarm), 2) the second fire alarm (2 AM, false alarm, front desk told me it was probably a false alarm but they would sound the alarm again if it was a real fire. No, really), 3) the third fire alarm (after 2 AM but before dawn, I was bleary eyed — another false alarm), 4) the fourth fire alarm (6:57 AM the next day — no sleeping in for us — yet another false alarm), 5) nice pool/sauna/hot tub but the room was just okay (smallish overall and mildew in bathroom). Ate twice at the Timber Dining room. Thanksgiving buffet was good overall but the turkey was dry and the rest of the entree line was average (kudos for the appetizer/salads/desserts tho). Friday buffet was good but one piece of carrot cake completely dried out. Asked for compensation for lost sleep, got a paltry $50 discount for one night ($119 a night rate). Came home to catch up on our sleep.

Lovely hotel, beautiful view, extremely friendly staff. Note that their online reservations system has problems. If they show everything booked, CALL them, this happens often.
