Nice staff. Nice room. Neat little fully equipped kitchen. Big bag o' trash hung out in the 4th floor foyer for about 26 hours.

Two week stay worked well for our needs, at a reasonable cost. Room was comfortable with kitchenette, newish furnishings. Excellent luxury mattress that you might find at hotels costing much more.

The room was pretty clean, but they could not put a rollaway in our room, making it a 4 person room even though the website said it was 5 person. The toilet in our room would not flush and the breakfast was almost entirely comprised of chips and candy. Good pet policy though.

My husband and I stayed here for an extended stay for work. Rooms were nice and clean, beds very soft, dishwasher in rooms, full sized refrigerator, stove cook top… just a few perks in the room. Washers and dryers are free which is always a plus. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is pet friendly, only down side is no pool : (

Booked through a third party online and there was some sort of mixup which resulted in us not having a room when we arrived. The attendant was very helpful in resolving the situation and went above and beyond in getting us a room at a different hotel. We didn't actually stay there, so I can't comment on the rooms, but the front desk service was great.

This very well might be a lovely place inside, but I guess I won’t get to find out for myself. Here’s why: My cousin reserved a block of rooms here for her wedding. I was going to stay here, but I can’t now because they broke their contract with her and sold the remaining rooms for a higher rate to other guests. She posted a negative review, and the general manager cancelled all reservations that her guests had already made and filed a complaint with the police that she was “harassing” them with her review, which, by the way, simply stated what happened and suggested others don’t book here (in language much like mine). If you’re thinking of Candlewood for your wedding, tread carefully.

I had blocked off about 40 rooms for my wedding and signed a contract to lock in the rate. It is now one month before my wedding and they sold the rooms out from under me, even though they were supposed to be held until the 3rd of next month. Because of limited room availability during UNL's graduation weekend, room rates were higher than listed on my contract, so they just wanted to sell them to people for double the price. I now have family from out of town who won't be able to come to my wedding. It is sad that this is how they run their business; they clearly don't have any integrity or care about anything except making money. Follow Up 3/30/18: Today I received an email from the GM stating that because of this review he is canceling all reservations that my guests have already made. I would suggest staying anywhere but here and spreading the word so that other people don't end up in this same situation.

Beds are perfect, pillows a variety. New and modern. Well designed building. Great Location with natural view in the back gazebo area grilling is quiet nice. Will be back soon!

Great Hotel! Love the New Look of the hotel. Upscale rooms with Great Beds that I slept on. I would recommend to all traveling in Lincoln. Friendly staff! Definitely coming back to stay again in May. Wonderful staff. Very helpful. Nice rooms. Clean and well organized. They are in the process of updating the rooms and I haven't heard any type of construction noise.

YOU'D BE BETTER OFF SLEEPING IN YOUR CAR The first room they put in had overwhelming glue fumes from maintenance work. They put me in another room and the air conditioner kicked on at 3:00 a. M. It was 5 degrees outside. I couldn't get it off and neither could the front desk clerk. She put me in another room but the temperature was set to 97 degrees. I ended up trying to sleep on the loveseat in the cold room. And I am 6'5" tall. Problems happen but here is where customer service went down the toilet. I asked for the manager to call me. He didn't. I called him. He said he would call me back that day. He didn't. 3 days later, I called him again. He said he hadn't had a chance to talk to his staff and offered me $25 off. Really, $25? I stay in hotels 80-100 nights a year, many of these in Lincoln. Take my advice… NEVER EVER STAY HERE.

We booked the rooms 2 weeks in advance and called twice to confirm due to a scent allergy. We were informed there would be no issue. When we arrived we were put in a room that stunk due to a remodel finished a day ago. The heater was set to 95 to "gas out the remodel smell. " When this room was not to standards we spent an hour dealing with a front desk which could not figure out how to unlock the rooms due to "key card system remodel. " The manager was called and he could not help. Finally we were put in a dirty room with full trash cans and a plugged toilet which we had to unplug ourselves. The next morning the ceiling on the third floor had fallen into the hallway! No discount was applied at check in and the next morning only "points" were given. No refund, no discount. There was nothing that resembled customer service and even showing the picture of the ceiling in the third floor hall only received the comment "it was not that way last night" and a shrug. If they are remodeling they should remodel out the entire staff and start again!

Liked my room. Very quiet. Icemaker in fridge wasn't working. Management fixed quickly.

We stayed there for my brothers wedding. We had several rooms. They were doing construction while we stayed there. Not very convenient for wheel chairs and walkers. Also some chairs and irons did not work in all rooms. I have stayed at other Suites and they had free breakfast, this place does not. This was close to things we needed.

Union arrival late evening the bathroom was flooding. Front desk was helpful during my two week stay. During my stay the lobby and laundry area was being renovated. Rooms were being repainted. No breakfast but kitchenette made it easy to buy local and prepare it yourself. Dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator made it feel like it was home away from home. Living area and bedroom was adequate. Small TV's and Wi-Fi were well below par. Overall staff was friendly and very helpful. Would stay again with corporate rate.

I love this hotel. I wish they recycled and I wish they were greener. I wish they had a breakfast but overall I was very pleased. Very pleasant staff and very clean Hotel.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and the amenities offered are quite nice. The kitchenette makes it easy to save money by cooking in your room. My wife and I stay here every time we come to Lincoln, and we will continue to do so.

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Room was clean but needed several cosmetic repairs that detracted from the overall look. The recliner in our room was broken (wouldn't close) and was never repaired while we were there. We did like the Candlewood Cupboard! Great idea and we used it several times. Overall, a good hotel and we will stay again next time we're in the area.

Very clean room, they had it ready for us for early check-in and were so nice. I like staying at Candlewood anyway but this one was well above average, while going into our room the housekeeping staff came by and asked if we needed extra pillows or anything, I never get that in really high priced hotels. Guaranteed I will be staying here on my next few trips to Lincoln!

Room was ok. We stayed 1 night. Southeast side of Lincoln. Suite kitchen was well furnished. The Bed was comfortable and clean. However, there were crumbs on the table, there was oldcoffee in the coffee pot when when my husband went to make it in the morning. And there was something pink and sticky on the door. The bathroom was very clean.

Nice clean rooms, beds and TV are too small tho.

I was upgraded to a suite which was a great surprise. Friendly staff. The pillows were great but the bed was quite hard The hallways had a really strange odor. It was somewhat unpleasant. Not a huge fan. I think I prefer the Staybridge Suites.

The place is clean. Our room is nice and smells good. The front door was accommodating and nice. Have food and drinks available by lobby. A little pricey (can of pop $1.50). Happy with our room.

Lousy internet connectivity, terrible service, unexpected charges without warning and no receipts provided when you are charged. As an added bonus, be careful of the gym equipment before you try to use it; three out of four pieces I tried were ready to fall apart. I am never staying at another Candlewood again.

OK, here are my lists of the good and the bad. We stayed 2 nights over a weekend for my daughter's wedding. The good: staff was very friendly (especially Gabrielle). Went out of there way to try and accommodate us. Snack shop has everything from candy bars to meals you can prepare in your room. Rooms were clean with comfortable beds. Now the bad: water pressure in the building is inadequate. Shower head leaked more water out of the back then dribbled out of the front. Would note that the staff were going to let us use another room to shower but the other room was just as inadequate. Again to note, staff went out and bought a new shower head that was installed by the time we got back in the evening, which slightly improved the shower stream. Another problem is their billing system. For some reason, they applied 8 different random amount "pending" charges to my credit card. It has been 5 days now and 5 came off by the 4th day but 3 others for more than $200 remain even after my card has been charged the correct amount for my two rooms. So, if you don't mind low water pressure, no free breakfast and having you credit card messed with, the hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Would not recommend.

We would highly recommend this serene spot for longer stays in Lincoln for any reason at all. The rooms are nice, stocked with almost everything you need, laundry facilities are free and clean, the atmosphere quiet and friendly — and everything has been made easy. Local businesses that are very close offer a 10% discount and those that don't are the ones travelers need anyway. Once arriving "at home" at Candlewood, you don't need to travel more than a block to find anything you need. Just a bit further there are parks, walking/biking paths, dog parks or anything else you might need. We'll go back anytime we're in Lincoln. This is a first class spot that doesn't exactly look like one from first glance.

I was back in Lincoln for a death in the family an our stay was a very enjoyable one. The staff is very friendly, helpful and the location is outstanding for those wishing for a stay in mid southeast Lincoln. Rooms have very nice features and a great deal of 10% off of groceries at a very nice grocery store within walking distance. The area features what is likely one of the largest dog parks in the nation. A few hundred steps away is a very fine East Indian restaurant, "The Oven. " Very safe area for late nite walking too! Overall a 9 on a scale of ten.

We are staying at Candlewood Suites in Lincoln for an extended time while my dad is in a nearby hospital. One morning I had car trouble and it was — 4 degrees outside. The manager helped me with my car! Roland is a sweetheart. Candlewood Suites provides free transportation for my mom to the hospital when I can't be there to take her and they offered to take her to the grocery store, Walgreens, or anywhere nearby she needs to go. This hotel is the greatest! Clean, quiet, comfortable, everything we need.
