My girlfriend and I stayed there for one night. When we checked in we were given room 221. Nice big room with a living area. After we got things put away and settled in we noticed blood stains on the floor. I took a picture and walked down to the front desk. She was understanding and provided us another room. Entering our new room 222 we noticed it was quite smaller. There was paint splattered on the alarm clock, bed frame and mirror from an apparent ceiling collapse a week before… We spent the night out with friends and returned back around midnight. We circled the parking lot to find a spot. There were no open spots all the parking around the building that was open was for other businesses only. There was a free parking ramp about 1/3 mile away looked quite sketchy as there were no other cars parked there. We were unsure if we would be ticketed or towed. Entering the hotel the bar was closed even though the sign stated they were open until 1am. In the morning we went to enjoy the continental breakfast. I heard a lady ask if there was any other fruit besides oranges as she can not have the citric acid. Housekeep said no that's all we have… to find out later the fruit tray was stacked full of bananas. We decided to enjoy the hot tub for awhile. Unfortunately the pool was warmer than the hot tub. Over all the experience was horrible. I will not suggest this place to anyone until management is changed.

Beware of the pool and hot tub! It completely ruins jewelry (a wedding ring to be specific) as well as changes the color of your bathing suit. The chlorine smell took two showers to get off my skin. They didn't seem to care about any of that even after a report was written. The rest of the hotel was really cool, the breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly! I would recommend this place, but do not use the pool or hot tub!

My family and I are in a room now. When we got here our key didn't work. My husband had to walk around the building, have another key made. So after me get the kids in the bed we try to turn on the a/c nothing happened. We waited 10-15 mins to see if it will come on. When it didn't we called the desk and the lady told us All she could was bring us a fan. So I paid $150.00 to try to cool down with a box fan.

Wonderful stay! Loved the architecture and location. Also, it was wonderfully quiet. It would have been helpful to have a larger list of recommended food establishments.

All I can say is that this hotel is "OK". It appears to be a remodeled train depot, so it's not your average hotel. There is a train theme throughout, and that's the best part. The room we had was clean. Everything else was mediocre at best. The breakfast was not awesome, the "eggs" were just one big clump, while the waffles were essentially inedible. The seat on my chair in the breakfast area was falling off. The towel bar in our bathroom was also falling off the wall. I doubt we'll be back.

Even though the room was definitely not modern example being a 1970s shower surround there was plenty of water pressure room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Downside was it was 42 degrees outside and the air conditioning ran continuously. Also there was no internet access in our room which we need it for our son school work.

Excellent St. Paul hotel. Easy access to everywhere. 2 minutes to Como Park and highways, restaurants, stores. Not a fancy hotel but attractive, clean and unique. Built in a former Railroad repair facility. Cool trains and beautiful courtyard surround the property. Indoor Pool, Hot tub, good breakfast included. Comfortable beds. Bar/Lounge open until 9pm for food after dinner hours. Good value.

The best hotel we have stayed at ever! The staff were nice the rooms very clean! The remodel of the old train station was by far the most amazing part! I highly recommend staying here!

We stay at this hotel every year with our family for Easter, in order to be close to extended family. We always book several rooms for this family fun weekend. This year I was extremely concerned about the cleanliness of one of our 3 rooms (113). In one of our other rooms there was no TV Remote (123). The pool was extremely COLD to the point our children and grandchildren could not be in the water. So we had to plan an alternative activity and take the kids to the Science Museum adding an additional expense to an already expensive weekend. It was very disappointing when all my kids wanted to do was swim with their cousins in the pool.

Hotel was clean, well managed, and rooms big. Built into an old train Depot with the original structure visible right down to the tracks. Love the ambiance. Even the large outside doors for trains were still there! Very cool.

Great experience. I truly enjoyed the staff. The general manager was on his hands and knees cleaning the floor and showing his staff that he too can clean. That really impressed me as you do not see that much anymore.

Do not stay here. My room was robbed while I was sleeping. Staff was rude and standoff about it and I still have not heard from management. My wallet was taken from my room while I was sleeping, my room door was opened and I was robbed. I believe staff was involved. And the fact that Christopher (Hotel manager) Thomas has not taken the time to call a disgruntled guest only tells me that this either was not the first time or he was in on it. I am disgusted at how this business is ran and how they take care of their guests. once again do not stay at this hotel.

My husband, daughter, and I stayed here Friday 16, 2018. We had a great experience. The hotel itself was interesting and the historical aspect made it even more appealing. The staff was amazing from making the reservation to checking out. Lavette, was amazing, and every hotel needs her. Our room was very clean and dispite the the busy night it was quite. We reserved a poolside room which made swimming easier for our family and the quaint patio set-up outside of our room was perfect. The breakfast in the morning was more than expected both hot and cold, made the start to our busy Saturday a good one. I would highly recommend this place. Close to lots of fun, but semi-off the beaten path.

Kia is wonderful. She goes above n beyond… Everyone should have someone like her working for them… Hotel is clean n comfortable… have nothing bad to say.

Always had a positive experience, however this time breakfast opened very late (inconvenient for early departures) and SUPER noisy by the pool. Very unfortunate.

If I could give zero I would. The houskeeping supervisor tried to break into my room. He was pushing the door so hard over and over again that the security door latch become loose. The front desk management were completely unhelpful. They offered me $7 off my room! They completely blew off the fact that I was fearful for my safety when the housekeeping supervisor tried to break into my room. Needless to say I immediately left and did not spend the evening there. I still have not received any type of response from hotel management about my concerns. Obviously, they are not concerned about my issues. I have waited ample time. It is time to move up the ladder as well as share my concerns over social media.

Hotel was super neat. The pool was kept nice and warm and the hot tub was nice and hot. Sauna was great too! Breakfast was pretty good, just not the greatest quality. Still would definitely stay there again.

They get one star for trying and one for being there in a convenient location for me. It's an old facility and just can't keep up, renovations are happening but they seem to be of the paint over the dirt and wear and tear and hope for the best sort. We have stayed there many times over the past 15or 20 years. It is sad to see it fading.

The Como Best Western, affectionately called “the train hotel” is conveniently located and very easy on the eyes. The train station theme, old railway cars, and gorgeous rail-crossed courtyards gave my stay a lot of character. Overall, I had a very positive experience here. I was attending a research conference nearby, and I can’t stand the “conference hotels” I usually book, which are beautiful but very high cost and lacking in-room amenities. The train hotel makes an excellent substitute for a fancy conference hotel if you don’t spend too much time just hanging out in your room. The room itself looked more like a typical budget motel, with some shabby corners and low water pressure. However, the location was perfect, the business center allowed me to print my missing handout, the lounge was comfortable, there was a nice little wine bar, and the Wi-Fi speed was actually pretty decent. If you’re looking for in-room luxury for a leisure trip, this might not be your pick, but for a conference traveler it was perfect.

The hotel is a very cool conversion of an old train depot. It is like it's own little town. The staff was nice and the rooms were clean. I am giving it four stars for two reasons. 1) the hot tub by the pool was filithy and 2) my room was very warm with basically no temperature control.

I'd give it three and a half stars. Love the hotel but it has its rough spots. Atmosphere of old train station is really fun. Breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, and much more is really good. Parking is free and pretty convenient. Rough spots: Public areas are freezing. Having bar on site is nice, but offers little in the way of food and most of what they did have was sold out. Internet would not work on my iPad and the computers in the business center only worked sporadically. Rooms were fine. Area is convenient. I would return.

We had a very enjoyable stay. Staff was excellent and the price was right. The room was large and roomy with a good bed. We would recommend this hotel to any traveling to the twin cities.

Pool was freezing. Had to hold down handle throughout entire toilet flush. Very friendly staff. Great bartender. Comfortable beds. Variety of options in the snack area. Plenty free parking. Average breakfast with a few hot items available.

What a totally unique and charming hotel, located in a former train depot (more or less — I'm not a history buff). The layout of the hotel is great for family stays, as the kids can walk around in the inside circle of the property. The breakfast nook is in the shape of a train depot, and completely adorable. This place was really great.

Good Stuff First. Staff was Friendly and Professional and did their best to help. Wendy in the Breakfast Area went above and beyond. Quiet despite the train tracks nearby. Now for the not so Good. Not the greatest for the handicapped. Ramps were a distance away from doors which were not powered. Room was outdated, A/C was ineffective. There were almost no electrical plugins. Mattress was uncomfortable to say the least. For the Price charged this hotel fell well below expectations.

The BWComo Park is a unique and charming hotel located in an historic railroad maintenance building. Retaining original timbers and rails adds to the charm. The centrally located pool area includes comfortable adjacent seating. Our room was spacious and well appointed. Front desk staff are personable, friendly and helpful. The hot breakfast was delicious, nicely presented and staffed. Wendy was charming, cheerful and helpful. We look forward to staying here again.

This place is full of charm! Beautiful, comfortable rooms, helpful staff, great central location. I love that they have their own little 'general store' if you need something. The main lobby is a spacious yet quaint room with many places to sit, talk, read or play cards.

The workers treat you well. Breakfast ready in the morning.

First off they have nice, helpful staff. Now that bad news. They are always understaffed at check-in, not their fault, management issue. Also, a manager seemed to question why we would want a light weight blanket versus the heavy quilt supplied. Really?! Also, I don't think the pillowcases on one of the beds was clean. Smelled like aftershave. This hotel needs to be remodeled. I would get rid of that pool. Loud music playing in the middle of the hotel, smells strongly and looks very rundown. At the very least rip out the carpet, paint and new fixtures. Breakfast as a person who cannot eat gluten was dismal. Runny, funky, scrambled eggs, under-cooked bacon, over ripe bananas, and oranges were all that was available to eat. If this were a Motel 6, fine, but we paid nearly $180 after tax for one night. I've stayed at Marriott's for less and gotten a really good breakfast and trust me, this ain't no Marriott.

This property is unique, spacious and well-appointed. I will definitely stay there again. Loved the skylights and many seating areas; my room was near the pool so I opened up the sliding glass door and entertained guests. It felt like we were sitting on someone's back porch — delightful! The breakfast was typical fare for such places, but on one day it was so crowded that they were out of hot items for a long time and it was difficult to even reach anything to put on a plate. I managed, but was slightly disappointed. The location is good for me as family live in neighboring apartment complex. Never made it to happy hour at the hotel bar; it looked like fun.

This place has the potential to be really good, but the lobby and rooms reek of chlorine from the pool. Rooms are otherwise quiet and comfortable. Breakfast is good. Wide range of capability and friendliness in staff. Not bad for the money in an in-town hotel.

Nice hotel and close to State Fairgrounds if you are attending a venue there. Otherwise in the middle of a business park. Problem is they like to double the room rate for big events on the weekend of. For example: 1 King bed on Jul-6-9 $105. Nothing going on at Fair grounds 1 week later Jul 13-16 1 King $206. Big car show that weekend. Just spent the weekend there for the Back to 50's car show. Over $200 a night. Not sure if I'll be doing that again. They like to hit the car guys with minty cars as they have covered parking!

Fun hotel, cool decor and history. Stayed with children and a dog. No problems. Nice area to walk the dog. Little bar. Typical hotel breakfast. Fun pool, cool looking with hot tub and cute shallow kiddy pool. They had a sauna! Very kind, helpful staff! Clean. Seems like a nice part of the city. Not perfect or fancy but I would definitely stay again.

I went for a swim in the pool and I enjoyed a lot.

This was a very different, interesting, but extremely nice hotel. The staff were very friendly, even the person on night shift when we had came back late. They were interested in having a nice conversation. The pool was very nice and clean and there was plenty of towels. The room was very nice and not over the top modern and obnoxious, which I liked. It was also very clean and smelled good. This hotel made me (and my family) feel comfortable and welcomed, so I will probably always end up picking to stay here when I'm in the area with them in the future.

We took a shot and booked here through Travelocity so we were unaware what we would be getting until after we paid. This hotel is SO neat! It is an old train station converted into a hotel. Loved the historic feel. Beds were very comfortable. Staff was very friendly. We had our dog and the staff just loved him. Staff was also very helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again if we are in the area.

It was ok. Strange lay out and alot of walking to find your room.

I write this at nearly midnight as I am unable to sleep due to the noise of the other guests here. I have called the front desk twice without any resolution. Apparently I am the problem because I have unrealistic expectations thinking I should be able to sleep before the midnight quiet time.

The location was very close to the location of my professional meeting. The building used to be a train depot which was really cool. Rooms were nice.

Good value. Had quiet room with comfortable bed. Basic hot and cold breakfast included. Accommodating and friendly staff. Free Wi-Fi. Historic building.

Lights flickered like in a haunted house … moldy, wet ceiling tiles in the bathroom. We had water dripping from the ceiling into our tub. It took maintenence over 30 minutes to come to our room. Cool buidling, but will never come back.

It was comfortable everybody was social and happy employees were happy pool area was clean hotel room was clean hot tub was fabulous I give it a thumbs up.

Smells of chlorine! Feels suffocating as soon as one enters the hotel. Good for those who line to swim in a warm indoor pool in the middle of winter. Staff is friendly and courteous.

We called the morning on the day we were arriving and tried to cancel one of our rooms, they have a strict 24 hour cancelation policy and will not bend on that. The air conditioner in the room could not cool it down, 75 degrees or so all night. We probably won't be back.

Stayed here 3 nights and was pleasantly surprised! Outside looks like an old, brick, industrial building, but the inside is unique, beautiful, and has lot of very interesting details. The staff was fantastic, the breakfast very good, the entire facility was very clean, and the room was comfortable! I would definitely recommend this hotel if you stay in St. Paul!

This hotel is just a step above a roadside motel. As you walk in, the place looks kind of run down. The front entry has chipped paint everywhere. We got to our room, and it was very chilly in there, so we turned the heat up and then went out for dinner. Got back, the room was still freezing, so we called the front desk to get switched to a different room. And come to find out, to have the heat turned up in any of the rooms, they have to call the front desk to have them do it — — — the control unit in the rooms are dummy panels. They should have told us that when we checked in. Next — — — we had a King bed, yet the pillows on it were smaller than standard pillows, and only 4 of them. When we called the front desk to get more pillows, we were told they didn't have any more pillows, but they had extra blankets that we could roll up if we wanted. Then, while we are laying there watching some TV letting our food digest before hitting the sauna and hot tube, we notice what appeared to be feces on the smoke detector on the ceiling. Additionally, the bathroom never got warm and was freezing the entire time we were there, the ceiling tiles outside of the bathroom were sagging, and outside of our room, the ceiling tiles had water damage. Additionally, you could clearly hear the people in the room above us stomping around (non-stop for several hours into the night) and that echoed through the room. We talked to the front desk about this, but it continued.

The best place ever for me to put my parents up for a holiday when I didnt want them staying with me. Other positives include the brisk walk up the parkway to have free breakfast during those stays. Also check out the museum onsite the medical center. pet friendly.

Stayed here for 3 nights. The positives were friendly desk staff, clean bed, decent free breakfast, proximity to my visit, nice pool, nice TV. The negatives were the lack of vacuuming and general cleaning in the common areas. I checked in on Friday night, so I assumed that the litter on the floor was from the many guests (kids and teens using the pool). After the maids were done on Saturday afternoon, the floors were obviously not vacuumed. At checkout on Monday, the floors were still untouched. It's apparent that management either does not walk the halls or use the stairways, or they just don't care.

We went out of our way to stay here because of there promotion that If we stayed in three places three different nights we would get a free night. They never sent us the voucher and I called multiple times to have them send it to us. I called again today and they said they can no longer send it to us because it was expired. They agree that they never sent me a voucher, but they don't care. They said I should have called more times if I really wanted it. I will never stay there again. Don't become involved in their reward programs either, I have had a horrible time getting those too.

The place was nice enough to stay, but we paid in cash when we checked out — the hotel STILL charged our charge card for our stay. So we paid twice. I'll never go back, regardless if it gets fixed. 300.00 is not a small chunk of change in my book. And to make that mistake, be told about it, and have no action taken is unforgivable.

I've stayed in quite a few motels and for the price, I think this one misses the mark. Room was nothing to brag about at all. Small TV, no fridge or microwave. Hard to explain, but the second level windowsills actually are below floor level. Ours was littered with old cereal and other debris that we couldn't identify. Not sure what the other review meant by a great breakfast, I've gotten the same hard boiled eggs and waffle maker at almost any motel I've been at. Not sure if we hit an exceptionally busy weekend or not, but parking was awful! I would certainly look at other options before I stayed here again.
