The worst hotel experience 20 years. Finished having dinner with family members slightly after midnight. Dropped my family members off at the hotel. I was the one who booked it in hotwire. About 10 minutes later I got a phone call, while on speakerphone the lovely individual "Bradley", was yelling at my family members telling them that because we booked through hotwire, "it's not his problem and that they Purge their system at midnight. " At which point I calmly re-read to him the itinerary number. He said "yes I can see it, but that doesn't mean you get a room. " We purged our system. " At which point they asked if they could buy a room outright at full price. He said no, the hotel was full. Mind you the parking lot had about four cars in it so I'm pretty sure he was making this up as he went along. They asked what happened to the room that was previously set aside for them? He said that one wasn't available. So apparently, a hotel close to the airport sells many of rooms between midnight and 1 AM during the week. We then inquired further as to why would we need to make additional calls when supposedly hotwire created the reservation and paid the funds. We had a confirmation number, that he could see and the room was paid for. He then became even more irate and said if we didn't leave immediately he was calling the police. We simply went across the street to a much more sane hotel and paid for room immediately with no headache, no hassle and customer service that understands that screaming at people isn't necessarily the best way to run a hotel. Upon further inquiry the hotel still refuses to refund the money from a room that they refuse to let us stay in and have kept the money for services not received.
