Staff are amazing. The island is run so thoughtfully. A ton of activities and it’s beautiful.

Our first time here and we'd definitely come back! Great place for a family vacation or FRAMILY vaca. Cabins are great — plenty of room. The island has so many amenities, places for kids to play and explore. The Ludlow's staff is awesome 👍

We had the opportunity to visit a couple weeks ago and I have to say the place is amazing! My 6 year old said it was the best week of her life. We also got to view the sunset the last night of our trip so I wanted to share that. This is Makiya and Vaeyda’s first vacation!

Loved the resort. Cabin was beautiful, island was peaceful and service was outstanding. Could not of had a better relaxing get away!

Currently staying in the Dreamcatcher cabin and it really is like being caught in a dream! All the windows are sliding glass doors and it’s perfect to have a cozy space to congregate in and then go off to our own private floors to sleep! We just saw a golden eagle swoop down and check out the island so that was fun too.
The services offered here are truly impressive. Being Minnesota nice, I felt like I had to help but they wouldn’t let us carry stuff up! Every time we’ve needed anything, they’ve been around to help.
The island has so many different spots to watch wildlife and fish right off shore, and they’re actually good spots!
Considering everything going on right now, they’ve made it feel as “normal” as possible, all while practicing proper cleaning guidelines. We will be back soon!

This place is amazing! There is so much to do for everyone. We’ve come for several years. The staff is so attentive and helpful. It’s a wonderful family vacation whether it’s a family reunion or just a family of 4.

Ludlow’s Island is an inimitable gem. The Ludlow’s family and staff are so perfectly unpretentious, unassuming and yet find a way to meet needs you didn’t even know existed. The island is modest yet superior. It’s serene and tranquil. It is a very place that has allowed our family to take a big full breath.

Amazing sunsets with beautiful views in every direction, CustomerCare with attention to every detail, morning paper with personal activities for the resort delivered to your door, lots to do on the resort as well as off the resort! Loved being water taxied in an antique wooden boat! Boyfriend took me here for my birthday and it was just the best 4 days! ❤️ loved it!

We did enjoy the resort. Very beautiful location. Our cabin did need new screens as they had holes and very loose fitting and there were cobwebs in the bedrooms otherwise the cabin was clean. Much of the buildings and furniture did need brooming for webs. Great fishing and excellent service, for sure.

We have come again and again back for many years, and the breathe taking scenery and welcoming hospitality are truly something rare and worth being celebrated. We could not recommend Ludlows any higher. We love it.

I don't know where to begin, I could go on and on about every detail and how amazing this place is. Pure, pure beautiful location, fantastic customer service (truly unbeatable), tons of great lake and island activities. My wife, daughter, and I will be back (yearly if possible)! vacation ever!

Very fun place to stay for a few nights. They even hooked us up with a local guide who got us on some serious fish! Definitely check out the daily activities, and take advantage of the kayaks and paddle boards.

I love Ludlow’s. Lake Vermillion is beautiful and worth the drive if you’re coming from the cities. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Lots of fun activities for kids! I can’t wait for next summer.

The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms and living area of our cabin were very clean and tidy. I would highly recommend this resort as a place to bring your family for a nice northern retreat.

We have been guests at Ludlow’s Island Resort since 2003. We visit every other year on average including spring summer and end of season. My way of sharing the best of Minnesota with my family. We usually hire a fishing guide for one evening and one morning trip to make sure we get on top of some walleyes. Always fish to catch around the Island and off the docks. Visit Ely for a day off the Island and you find the best pies. Blueberry pie is our favorite. Birds, eagles, osprey, loons, moose, Muskie, Vermillion River the list goes on.

Staff is excellent. Close the flue on your fireplace or mosquitoes will get in if it's that season.

Once again our family spent an amazing week at Ludlow's! As expected the impeccable level of hospitality by far exceeds the norm, from the minute you call over for a water taxi to the moment you check out, the staff led by Paul and Kelly Ludlow is everything you could want in a quiet and beautiful vacation, and don't forget Lori and Mike who coordinate the visit and dock staff like a well oiled machine! Went here in October. Were the only visitor, so it was very remote on the island which I like. Went for 7 days and fished every day and only got to see a 1/3 of the lake. Service was so nice, thank you. Taking the pontoon to the far west restaurant for lunch was a fun experience. Recommend the treehouse lodge. Peaceful place.

This is…, by far the best place to stay on one of the most beautiful lakes you'll ever seen. I've been fishing Lake Vermillion for more than 30 years, and have stayed at Ludlow's, Island more times than I can remember…, on the island, on the north shore, and on the south shore. Why should you come? — … It is quite simply the best, most unique resort. With the best amenities, and service you will ever find. No single cabin is the same, and it can be a very private setting even on the island. We absolutely love this place. The cabins are rustic but comfortable. Boats, bonfires, grilling, beach activities and more. The secluded feeling of the private island is absolutely amazing. The staff is also amazing. Can't wait to go back.

I can't say enough good things about this resort. We went on a fishing trip with 7 guys and stayed in the twilight cabin. It had plenty of space and was very well equipped. Almost like renting someone's home. The service was the best I've ever experienced and its not even close. Chris and Mike were always at the ready to help where ever needed. They took care of everything: transporting our luggage, landing/ launching or boats, cleaning every fish we caught. They had great advice and we were able to get into some fish thanks to them. I would highly recommend this place. The price was reasonable and the service made it worth every penny.

Beautiful place with lots of privacy, comfortable cabins and lodge, fantastic views of the lake from nearly every balcony, phenomenal staff who were very friendly and helpful with everything we needed. Night Owl cabin was perfect for our family since we have a toddler. Easy to gate off the kitchen and stairs and keep her out of trouble. Word of warning: cell phone service and Wi-Fi are spotty and slow so be prepared to look up from your screen and enjoy the view instead. We'll be coming back more than once!

My wife surprised our family with a stay at Ludlow's. We stayed in Dreamcatcher and it was an amazing time! The cabin was wonderful, the views were amazing but what made it even more enjoyable was the staff! Paul and the team are by far the most amazing hosts and hostesses there are! We will be turning this into a family tradition for sure! Thank you for a wonderful time!

Ludlow's was our first resort experience in outdoors and it was better than I had imagined! The seclusion, breathtaking views, and cabin were fantastic. Kelly, Mike, and Paul we're just awesome, great people! Feels like family! Would highly recommend and will come back in future so our kids can experience this as well!

Ludlow's recently hosted my wedding of 60 people in September. My husband & myself, our families and friends were beyond impressed. The staff did everything to accommodate and serve us on our special day. The cabins are amazing and we cannot say enough good things about Paul, Kelly, Lori and the rest of the amazing staff. Thank you, Ludlows! We feel so lucky to have found a lifelong resort that is close to our hearts.

Worth every penny! Our family was blown away by the service. Anything you ever needed was just a phone call away. Went to this resort in the early 90's, Its a great resort with multiple lodging options and activities for all types! families groups as well as smaller options.

This was the perfect blend of everything. I can not recall ever having a vacation that was as perfectly relaxing and enjoyable as our recent stay at Ludlow's Island. The staff were remarkable and remind me that not everyone has given up on kindness. We stayed in Sundown, which as the name implies, afforded gorgeous views of sunsets and twilight. With just a handful of cabins spread out on this five-acre island, there was just the right amount of companionship for the kids but so much elbow room for all. And the other guests were terrific too! Lot's to do, and lot's of reason to do nothing without feeling like you were missing out.
