We've stayed at this hotel several times in the past, and each stay has been progressively worse. This time we stayed in room 109, which is a double queen which was comfortable with plenty of space. We arrived to a bathroom mirror sprayed with toothpaste from previous occupants. I went to place our things in the refrigerator and it had two half empty bottles of pop in it, and a partially eaten dish of ice cream with a spoon in the freezer. The bathroom floor was clean, but the doorframe was rusting away. We've never had an experience this bad here before. Breakfast was awful. It is served from 7-10am. We arrived at 8:45 and there was no. Milk in the refrigerator, and cereal and waffle batter all over the counters. There were 4 chafing dishes for hot food. 2 were totally empty, 1 had about 4 tablespoons of egg in it, and one had about a dozen sausages in it — with a line of people waiting and an hour to go. There was a make your own waffle station, but you could only have strawberry or chocolate chip batter. Not exactly appetizing to the over 6 crowd. It was the same issue that they had in the past — only one person running the front desk for check out and to serve the entire breakfast. I felt too bad for her to complain.

Awful. I can't even find my previous review. Dirty — TV didn't work. Sauna and whirlpool didn't work and looking at previous reviews it hasn't worked in months. No refrigerator. Very dirty air conditioning vents. With all of these negative reviews you would think someone would improve this place. I would never recommend this place. Manager said she would take something off the bill but that never happened. That's when any staff could be found. They were never at the front desk. We had to call out to get anyone out there. I would even give this hotel a 1.

Nice place. Pool open all night for adults. Continental breakfast could have been better. No cream cheese for bagels no juice until near end of serving time.

Called for rates and was put on hold so long I finally hung up and called again. The same woman answered and told me a room for ONE night was $289.99! Shame on you! That is blatant avarice and mercenary gouging of the visitors who come to stay in your town. I had to attend an event, that's why I was there. I will NEVER stay at AmericInn — Douglas, MI.

Location was very close to a great brewery, rates are reasonable and breakfast was good. Our room didn't have a fridge (I think some of the rooms were still being renovated) and there are no lights for then outside at night. Overall, not a bad place to stay. You.

We just checked in after booking our room a long time ago. We informed hotel we would be bringing our pet and booked a king suite. After arriving we were told that our room had been changed to the only dog room they had which was supposed to be two queens but it's two doubles. After looking forward to a nice King beds we will be cramped in a tiny double and in a dusty, clearly not well cared for room. This is put a big damper on our trip. Would never stay here again.

The room is about as plush as a roach motel. We took our child to the pool which was as cold as Lake Michigan water. The hot tub was more like a like warm wading pool with no jet pressure. The sauna was a cedar closet with no heat. Highly disappointed such a waste of money. I will never refer this place and or stay with them again. Sincerely John Visvardis.

The hotel is very clean and well lit with nice amenities such as a 24 hr indoor pool and hot tub. Our room was spacious, however the reason why it's worthy of only 3 stars is because we didn't have hot water for the first night and the bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept it. Firm doesn't even describe it, it's like you're sleeping on concrete.

We performed a service repair for this hotel back in Sept of 2017 and have yet to be paid for it. We have made many attempts at collecting for this to no avail. Cepek Consulting & Management has responded by making blank promises for payment and as of today state they no longer have anything to do with this hotel and wants us to contact the hotel manager and she will forward to the owner… tried to call and no answer… is this Hotel still in business? Wonder if they would let their customers stay without paying?

The best lodge I have ever stayed at. The staff was amazing, would recommend this place to anyone.

We had a large group for a family funeral. The staff was excellent. The rooms were clean, the facilities perfect for our needs, and the pool area great for younger members of the family. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the Saugatuck-Douglas area.

We stayed in a family room Jacuzzi suite which was absolutely amazing. Our room was perfect, it was spacious and CLEAN! The front desk attendant was very friendly. Only downside was the large gathering of people walking around with open bottles of alcohol so because we didn't want our kids around that we didn't get to use the pool. Other than that, we would definitely stay again.

Bed was not made when we checked in. Either too hot or too cold in room. Front desk worker wasn't very friendly.

I have stayed here quite a few times, always for business, and have been very pleased every time. When I take my Ma, it is the only overnight accommodation in S/D with up-to-date ADA compliant bathrooms.

Horrible dont waste your money! this place was poorly maintained the managers arrogant and disrespectful poorly managed dirty not thourghly cleaned there was dog pee stains in are rooms floors not vaccummed the manager is a piece of work has no idea of management dont stay there we left immediately breakfast sucks pool was disgusting and spa seriously there were houskeepers kids running wild like circus clowns dont be fooled theres plenty other hotels americaninns a bust rip off.

The beds were very uncomfortable and the comforter thin and cheap. The rooms did not have a fireplace as advertised. When I spoke with the lady at the counter upon arrival, she said they told Expedia to take that down a few years ago, and then didn't do anything about it since then, showing a lack of integrity in advertising. Breakfast options were scarce and they commonly were out of things like cream cheese or milk. Orange juice tasted like Sunny D.

While this is no expensive five-star hotel, I think this neat little place did exceptionally well for the price. The walk-in feel is superb — Very tidy and homey feeling. Our room was very basic — 2 queens, a flatscreen (nothing special) TV, standard bathroom with shower and toilet, some cabinet and surface space, and a coffee maker. No fridge, hot tub, or other amenities in the bedroom. The staff was both friendly and helpful. The pool and hottub in the lounge area were very nice and well-kept. The pool was actually perfect temperature, and it was great jumping between the hot tub and the pool with my wife (no kids on this trip although there were a few there — they were all very quiet groups). My one complaint in this area is that the sauna was broken down for both days of my stay — but not a dealbreaker. Breakfast was good considering the price. They do not have stoves, but there is a microwave available in the lobby. Breakfast consisted of warmed sausage patties, scrambled egg patties, make-yourself waffles, bagels with condiments, orange/apple juice, cereal, yogurt, milk, hardboiled eggs, and a few donut deserts. These were all help-yourself from 6am-10am. While there isn't much to do aside from the pool, this is a bed and breakfast. I was very happy with the service, and there was very little noise the entire stay. Highly recommended at this price point — Just prepare on trips to Holland if you really want to do anything fun during the winter months.

An awesome continental breakfast, friendly staff, and very clean rooms. The only problem we had was that there were two clocks in the room and one still had the pre-DST switch time. The other one was right, however, and this is our only complaint. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone.
