I had my daughters first birthday party here and I had a horrible experience.
Not only was the hot tub not working (which they didn’t inform me of when we rented the pool area), but they also don’t tell you that they charge $1.50 per towel AND if you have “extra” kids swimming they charge you (which they don’t tell you about until you go in the day of your party to sign paper work).
The ceiling in the pool area is basically caving in as well.
Never will I ever host a party or rent a hotel room here ever again.

Horrible service horrible experience once I am able to check they won’t see me again.

Inexpensive room rates; great location (corner of M-28 and US-41) ; close access to grocery store, Holiday Gas Station, Main Street Pizza, McDonald's, and ToGo's subs (veggie with cheeses, rosemary sourdough bread: great choice) ; waffles, cereal and fresh fruit for breakfast; and an extremely friendly and courteous staff. Hats off to manager Rita for a great property!

Great coffee bar, nice and helpful staff. Hot tub was too hot but the pool area was nice.

Nice spot located just out of town, but still very convenient. Rooms are small but nice. There's a pool, hot tub, and outdoor decks for you to enjoy.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The rooms were spacious. The beds were super comfy. Nice big shower. Location was right on Lake Superior. This was a great value all in all.

I'm a wheelchair user and this place was very inaccessible. Only one fully accessible room (already booked, of course) and a couple of other rooms that are step-free but so small that not even the skinniest wheelchair could fit. SEVERAL other rooms were available, but up small, two inch steps and had doorways with lips. The customer service was good and changed our room to a suite free of charge since nothing else would work, but we had to supply and secure our own ramp to get inside. Great kitchette. However, the bathroom was more like a closet, and sleeping on the pull-out sofa bed — the real bed was in a separate room through a very narrow door — was extremely uncomfortable.

There is no inside access to the main area for several of the rooms. You must go outside and walk around the whole building and parking lot area to access the lobby. Not good on those cold winter days. Continental breakfast is very limited served in a very tiny room. Upgrades needed all around here…

Stayed for quite a while. New management has made aWonderful Improvements. Updating rooms. Most employee's are kind and courteous. Rooms were clean and had everything I needed.

Front desk lady was fast, courteous, and professional. We have stayed here a few times. The lower back rooms are a little noisy because of people coming and going but the upper and front is quieter. Overall a good value for the price.

It was a pretty nice stay in a pretty nice room for about 65 bucks. The people that work there are really nice almost like it's family-owned. I flew in late with A3 hour difference from the West Coast. Not realizing it being 11 that everything was closed and I was starving. The gentleman was super nice and offered me breakfast. Even turned on a waffle iron for me. I couldn't have been more happy for my first visit to Michigan from Oregon.

The service is really poor hotel rooms or barely kept up and shape the security lock on the door didn't work never staying in that hotel ever again I know the owner very well and I'm pretty sure if he heard what I was told today when I checked out he would definitely fire half of his staff if not all…

The rooms were clean but a little rough. There was a lot of noise right outside our window, and a very strong light right in front of our window make the inside pretty bright. Very very loud heating unit.

Great hotel, friendly and attentive service, awesome pool and relaxing hot tub. Definitely great bang for your buck!

The hotel it's self is very clean and the pool wool and staff were all very nice. There were problems with doors not shutting or locking in my room, and breakfast was a let down. Very limited and the food went very quick.

We stayed in Marquette during the Blueberry Festival in July so when we were looking to reserve a place we didn't have many options… everything was booked. The window of the room gives you a view of the hallway. There was also a gap at the bottom of our door wide enough to fit the TV remote under. I lined a towel at the bottom of the door to cover this when we went to sleep at night. The parking was also very limited… there were people parked up on the grass hill on the side of the building. We were lucky to have found a spot in the back when we came back for the night. I wouldn't stay here again… but if you're looking for a deal it isn't the worst option I suppose.

Nice quiet place right on the trail. Nice large area for parking for a dually and 30 foot trailers. Nice clean rooms.

Management is very nice and will go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay! Gluten free waffles too!

Room was fine but not handicap accessible. No elevator to the second floor. Fine for me but not others, I'm sure. Rate was best in the area.

I was able to overlook having my room moved mid stay but I cannot overlook that after my checkout, staff broke a mirror in the room I stayed at and retroactively billed me for it. This is definately a place I'd avoid staying at ever again spare for the pleasnt banter I had with some staff that did service me well.

I stayed over the Thanksgiving weekend and I was very disappointed in the fact that the place was not busy but they found it necessary to put someone on the floor over me. I was in the lower level all the way in the north end, and I really couldn't sleep for all the noise. Maybe the front desk could have put them somewhere else not right over me. I will never stay hete again, but overall the bed was ok but very small and had a musty smell.

I needed a quiet place to work (deadline, no peace at home) and I got it. I had my own mini vacation, and was glad of it. The staff are super helpful, and for the price it is a bargain. My room was very clean, and if an appliance was dated, it was clean and worked. Overall, for the price and the amenities, I would totally give this place a thumbs up.

Very nice room setup. I also enjoyed the outdoor porch on the second level. Also, loved the coffee.

The room was clean, the price was reasonable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is on the outskirts of Marquette and is easy to reach with many nearby options for food. It was a great experience and I would gladly stay at this location again.

Very interesting rooms and nice amenities available. The room we stayed in had 3 beds so it was very large. The beds were pretty nice and not too hard. The room's TV remote didn't work properly unfortunately and the bathroom size was a bit small. The indoor pool was nice and warm so it didn't feel cold entering it.

The hotel was not a good value for the money! On a positive note, front desk staff were friendly. Unfortunately, the hotel room bathroom was horribly rundown and filthy. The shower curtain was really filthy — and whatever was on it ran into the shower when the water was turned on (chunks of previous customers hair, etc). I felt like I was showering with the dirt of many previous occupants. The ceiling tiles were very stained (brown) and we're coming off the bathroom ceiling. The bathroom was extremely dark and dingy. The carpet in the room was damp to walk on. Definitely not a hotel room to walk barefoot in. In general, I would never stay here again. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone!

Room quality is on par. They do have gluten free breakfast, but (as of now) it's limited to waffles, Cheerios and yogurt for food. It's also a pretty short drive away from Marquette.

Much nicer than I expected for the price. Room was very clean with updated bathroom, my daughter greatly enjoyed a swim in the pool, comfy beds and very pleasant helpful staff! A make it yourself waffle/pancake breakfast with bagels, eggs and the usual will be perfect before hitting the road in the AM. I would definitely stay here again as it was a great stop over on our road trip. Parking was a little tight, but still doable.

Wow, the smallest shower I have ever had to squeeze into. Who would even bother to make such a thing in a hotel. I could kiss the top of the shower head and I'm 6ft. Besides the crappy bathrooms the room was ok. I'm sure there is something better around for the same price.

Room was very well maintained, felt comfortable, and good internet. Pool was in a pretty bad condition with large chunks of sealant coming off the bottom of the pool. Continental breakfast had a small but decent selection of foods. Juice was watered down (but I enjoy it that way anyway)

Super Clean and really friendly staff! We got upgraded for free to a room with a king bed which was so nice. The pool and hot tub are a perfect size for the place. Great options for the continental breakfast!

Great value for your money. Pool was very warm. Breakfast was a little poor but again for your value you can't find better. My one complaint is the have huge spiders by the side doors. Will be back.

Cheap and close to Marquette. That's about the end of the pros. Nothing felt really clean, but I was too tired to car much. In the morning we found out they have a bit of a spider problem, found 3 of them in the room. The bathroom was mostly clean, but I could tell it was only skin deep. Bed wasn't very comfortable and breakfast is technically included, but it was VERY limited. Also, very odd setup where it was clearly originally an exterior corridor hotel, but they closed it in. So the hallways are roasting in the summer with every room's a/c dumping heat into the hall. Also, windows point into the hall way. If price is the only concern, its not horrible, but if you have other options, look elsewhere.

While the hotel is dated and the layout is odd, we had a great experience. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Even though the room was dated, you can tell they are working on modernizing it. The beds were AMAZING! Clean, modern linens, and the mattress was the most comfortable thing I've ever slept in, did not want to get up in the morning! We had a spacious room with a kitchenette which was great to have with two kids. The pool room was very warm and the chlorine smell was pretty strong, but everything was clean.

When I stayed at this place it was a life saver. The room was small but clean. There was a snow storm and I had a doctors appointment for my special needs daughter. I called before I came up and they were very helpful! they got me a room right away. The staff was so great! the power went out because of the storm when my appointment was canceled they did all the could to help me out. Not sure about the out dated TV because I had a flat screen but all in all great stay and would stay there again.

Horrible experience Breakfast consisted of toast Staff seemed like they hated being here as much as I did Other guest were loud and obnoxious and when I called the front they told me they couldn't do anything about it. Wifi was terrible you couldn't even connect to Google This place is over priced for what they actually offer.

The hotel was disgusting. The pool hot tub stunk so bad! like mold. And the room you could hear everything. Our door wouldn't lock unless you slammed it. Just very disappointed.

We had one of the worst hotel experiences you can fathom. The room was tiny, dated and dingy. The walls were paper thin and guests in the halls kept us up all night. The exterior door to the building was never locked, even though we were on the opposite side from the office. Ice and vending machines were right outside our door — not in an alcove, directly in the hall. We were kept awake by late night guests getting ice for their adult beverages. We barely had room for our suitcases, let alone a place to sit down or change clothing. The TV was very old — I watched a game but I could not tell the score even when I put my face up to the screen. The toilet seat was half way off the commode. Only redeeming factor is the room did seem to be kept clean. Still, the decor was so old, it looked dirty anyway. The breakfast selection was so poor, I had nothing but coffee, and that was so bad I couldn't drink it. With only about 5 people in the breakfast room there was still no room to turn around. No fruit in sight, or anything even remotely healthy. The hallways seemed dirty, the doors and locks seemed like they wouldn't hold back a light kick. I wished I had spent a few bucks more for a decent room. That thought occurred to me the minute we walked into our room at ABV. Do yourselves a favor and look for something with better reviews, even if it is a few bucks more.

The room was clean. After that I don't have much good to say. The room was dated and so was the furniture. The mattress was old and very uncomfortable. Not a good nights sleep. Breakfast was ok but nothing to brag about.

For the cheapest price we could find at $60 per night we could not pass this up after a miserable start to our vacation. This place was our home for the night and we had a great time with their heated pool and hot tub. Their staff was gracious and kind. It was a great last minute stop and there also was a complimentary breakfast. The room was a standard room you would get at any hotel and you would probably pay more $$$. However the walls were thin and the side door of the hallway did not lock. Overall it was the best price within 40 miles of where we were statying. It solved our vacation problem for the night.
