First night here at Stonecliffe while celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary! Went to the Cudahy Mansion for dinner. Very tasty fish tacos and pizza while taking in the remarkable view of the water and bridge as we ate at the dining room table. Headed back to our beautiful room in the Summer House. Thanks for a great first night!

Beautiful mansion, very quiet location and accommodating staff. Our room had a view of the bridge and was spacious and clean. All staff was professional and our courteous. This was our first visit and we will certainly return!

This beautiful retreat is soothing for the soul! The views from the back porch are amazing! It is place that allows you to step away and reconnect with nature and the ones you love❤️ Thank you so much for the gift of a night at the Inn. We spent several days of our honeymoon there. It will be wonderful to come and spend a few nights this year to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary.

Our daughter and her fiancé chose the Inn at Stonecliffe for their destination wedding because of it’s quiet romantic yesteryear atmosphere and beautiful grounds. Add the rich colors of a Michigan fall with a perfect view of the Mackinaw bridge and they were hooked. The staff there is friendly and helpful, the food is outstanding and the servers top notch. A special thank you to Becky Miller, the Inn’s wedding coordinator. Not only did she guide them through selecting the options offered for their wedding day, and coordinated with the other vendors, she supported their ‘treasure hunt’ and helped them create a welcome reception that their guests still talk about.

We had our wedding here and it was amazing. Becky the wedding coordinator there was so helpful and accommodating. The grounds were just beautiful for our event and pictures. We love this place! Five stars from us… although I can’t find the stars button.

We happened upon Stonecliffe while riding our bikes in The Woods area. We stayed two nights and enjoyed our time very much. Best island views of the sunset are found here. Looking forward to returning next season.

The employees wanna make you happy by attempting to get you anything ya need. The food is excellent and plentiful, ask and you may be surprised. Pool ‍♀️ heated to 70% outside. Not in town, secluded with a great view of the Mackinac Bridge, Free breakfast, they just need a good country gravy. You can rent bikes cheaper than renting a horse a short walk to an over look with a better view of the water and Bridge. Great hours for eating. Seniors know about this quiet hide away. So if you’re looking to stay up late and woop it up, this isn’t the place for you.

Grounds are beautiful and you can’t beat the view at breakfast. A few things to know before your stay is for a family of 4 it will cost you $60 round trip to get to and from town on the taxi and a few dollars cheaper if you use their shuttle. To walk it is challenging on the way up to it not terrible on the way down to town. It’s roughly 1.5 miles each way so you may wait a half hour or more for a taxi to get to you. All that to keep in mind when you have little ones it’s an extra thing to navigate. Also we stayed in the summer house on the second floor and the occupants above us were heard at all points due to squeaky floors. It’s a beautiful place but do your homework — if you think you want to be in the city everyday for shopping and dining options you need to bring lots of cash.

The grounds are beautiful, but the air conditioning was broken and it was 85 degrees in our room even with the patio door open. We asked about a possible room change the following day and despite being told they would let us know, never heard back. It also took over 2.5 hours for our luggage to leave the hotel and make it to the ferry so we could return home. Discussed the inconveniences with the front desk, but nothing was ever reconciled.

For 8 days, my 3 teenagers and I stayed at the Inn at Stonecliffe. This was a spectacular experience! Every morning we were greeted by a friendly and professional staff during our complimentary gourmet breakfast, while overlooking the Straights of Mackinac and the Mackinac Bridge. After breakfast we jumped in the heated outdoor pool which is cleaned every day! The porter Cory helped us with our bags on the shuttle to and from ferry boat dock. Brittany and the rest of the staff and bartenders are top notch. I am a former restaurant cook, and we tried everything on the menu over the 8 days and the meals were all prepared perfectly. Fruit and coffee were available daily at no extra charge. The room was clean and the Mansion and the grounds and flowers are very beautiful! This trip was a daily delight to say the least. Lots of perks and amenities to mention.

This beautiful property is magical even in cold and rainy weather! Welcomed as soon as we got off the ferry by a kind staff gentleman who made sure we got our carriage to the Inn… the carriage ride was chilly and wet but we were given blankets to warm us on our trip. Once we arrived they greeted us warmly and took our bags up to our very large room which overlooked their lush lawn that were surround with the fall leaves in beautiful hues.
The staff was friendly and very helpful The food was delicious in both the bar and in the restaurant, the whole building and grounds were gorgeous! I have to rave about this amazing place!

Absolutely the best place to stay on the island. It's a little bit of a hike to get there but I love being out of the hustle and bustle of town everybody's friendly the rooms are clean and a good size a lot of the rooms on the island are small and the breakfast is spectacular!

This review was hard for me to write. I wanted to give the resort a five-star review, but time after time I was underwhelmed. We stayed for four nights and were immediately surprised when we got to our room — — there was hair behind the bathroom door, in the shower, and on the toilet seat. We went to call the front desk to get someone from housekeeping to clean the bathroom and vacuum the floor, but our phone did not work. We had to use our cell phones to call the front desk. We were assured that someone would attend to our complaints, and we would have 25% off of our first day's stay deducted from our bill. The room was cleaned as promised, and our vacation was back on track. But each day it appeared that the only service provided to our room was making the beds and providing us with half of the towels we needed (two adults, three children). We had to request extra towels and shampoo each day we were there. We had trash (empty wine and beer bottles) which remained in the same place untouched until we checked out, along with dirty dishes and wine glasses. The grounds are beautiful, and they've done a great job renovating the hotel. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The hotel is a 45-minute horse-drawn carriage ride from downtown, which is $7 per adult and $3.50 for kids. We walked to and from the hotel a number of times — — it's a long walk but not too far.

Wonderful staff, probably the friendliest people you will ever meet. A huge lawn for lawn games, coupled with a swimming pool and trails through the woods. Unlike other hotels on the Island, this one feels secluded, but is a 5 minute bike ride from downtown. The rooms are spacious with awesome balcony views. I've stayed here probably a dozen times with my family, and we haven't considered any other hotels on Mackinac except this one.

No elevators for guests, no air conditioning in rooms. Room rate was very high despite this. The breakfast was good. The staff was accommodating however the evening staff quoted different terms for bike rentals. Be prepared to schedule pier shuttle a day before needed. The hotel shuttle is not complementary.

Staff is great, location is spectacular, sitting out in the porch is amazing. This is our third year coming to Stonecliffe, and we love it. The rooms are clean and spacious, but they always go the extra mile. This is by far the best place to stay.

Beautiful location and hotel. The view from most of the suites is minimal due to trees and foliage and their games are lacking in quality. Overall we had a nice stay.

I just returned from my second visit at Stonecliffe, and it was my best vacation yet. I've traveled all over the world and truly this was my favorite experience — the location and grounds could not be more serene and relaxing, it's like something straight out of a Jane Austen novel! It's removed enough from the downtown area to be peaceful and close enough to enjoy a beautiful walk or carriage ride. The staff was particularly enjoyable, especially George at our morning breakfasts and Jessica, who always seemed to be around at breakfast, dinner, or at the bar. They really stood out as kind to my family, especially with my two little ones. The manager, Lisa, was incredibly helpful, friendly, and sweet to my daughters as well. I cannot wait to plan my next trip back!

We had the best time. I mistakenly booked a room without a mini fridge. Given that it was one of our first trips away from baby, I needed some way to keep my milk cool (totally my fault, not theirs). They found an extra mini fridge and carried it to the third floor, only minutes after already carrying our luggage to the third floor. Our experience with breakfast was delicious! We will definitely come back.

A lovely hotel with friendly staff and clean comfortable rooms. The on-site restaurant is good (but very expensive). The only downside is it is quite isolated and most of the island attractions are a long way away. However, many may see that as an advantage.

It was great the free breakfast was wonderful as well. The restaurant is very pricey, what we had was very good. You are about 2 miles from town. The shuttle wasn't running because they had just opened for the season, so from the docks to the Inn was 7 dollars per person. The walk to town is cool and you can see more of the local homes ect. The view of the Mackinac bridge from the restaurant our room and the patio was wonderful. The pool doesn't open until memorial day so we didn't get to try that, but it looked like it would be great on a warm day!

The service is phenomenal and there's plenty of options for all kinds of different tastes and price points. The desserts are wonderful and the William J burger and the BBQ chicken man and cheese are both fantastic options! The views of the Mackinac bridge is a lovely bonus!

The Inn is a mansion set far off the beaten path. When you arrive via house drawn carriage you feel as though you're arriving at an enchanted castle. Service was fantastic, the rooms seem to differ greatly in layout depending on which floor you're on but each has its own charm. There are trails on the grounds, one leads to a lookout over the cliffs with a breathtaking view of lake Michigan. The distance from downtown is worth it for the setting and service.

I have nothing but great things to stay about The Inn at Stonecliffe! From the room, to the views, and the breakfast — it was a perfect stay. We stayed in the Summer House and it was so clean and recently updated. The balconies off the room had incredible views. There is a near by trail that takes you to Sunset Rock and it is a MUST see. We had a late snack at the bar in the main house and the food was delicious. The area of the island that the hotel is located in actually experienced a power outage around 10pm due to a transformer blowing. We went down to the lobby to see what was going on and the GM was already there and had answers to all of our questions. She did a great job making us feel comfortable during the power outage — along with all the other employees! I would highly recommend staying at The Inn at Stonecliffe.

Staff at The Inn was very helpful and professional. Rooms are gorgeous, properly supplied, and well updated (minus AC in the original home). Complimentary breakfast is beyond simple, yet very tasteful. Staying here for a wedding, but would come back for a personal visit.

This hotel receives 3 stars as the experience was not exemplary nor excessively poor. Persons considering this hotel should be aware this hotel is far removed from downtown, nearly 2 miles. Arrangements are not made to facilitate access, which means you must rent a bike, carriage or walk both to and from the hotel. That is roughly a 35 minute walk, 8 dollars per hour for a bike or 7 dollars per person each way for the carriage. Pros: The grounds and view are breathtaking. Our view of the bridge lit up at night was stunning. Cons: The rooms are nothing to write home about. (We stayed in the mansion, this review does not speak to the rooms at the summerhouse. ) The bathroom was fairly plain and many of the fixtures appeared dated in nature. The paint and sealer on the toilet seat and back were peeling which didn't help the atmosphere. The rooms lack air conditioning so you must use the fan in the room, however, the ceiling light kept turning on in the middle of the night when we were running the fan. Not sure about you, but when a light right over my bed pops on 4 times during the night, I tend not to get the best sleep. Overall, as stated above 3 stars, great views, very secluded if you are a fan of peace and quiet, average to slightly below average accommodations.

Great hotel. They have great service and all staff are very friendly and polite. Delicious food, and many fun activities. It is private and there is no noise from the hustle and bustle of town. They also have a great newly renovated pool, perfect for children.

A quiet, quaint Island getaway. It's well out if town so expect to hike when cabs are scarce and shuttles are full. Breakfast is tasty but not amazing. The rooms in the main house are fun and antique with lots of character. We had an amazing time.

Friendly staff. Beautiful hotel. Scenery is amazing. Carriage ride takes about 45 minutes, but other than that, I have no complaints.

Beautiful view, service is very professional, breakfast is good. Beds weren't turned down and towels weren't replaced during the day like you might expect though.

My favorite place on the island. Away from the busy downtown, but not too far. The views are stunning and you are right next to The Woods restaurant which is one of the best on the island. Relax on Mackinac Island at The Inn at Stonecliffe.

We actually stayed at the Summer House next door to Stonecliffe for the heated outdoor pool and 2 bedroom suite — very kid friendly. We dined at Stonecliffe each evening (wonderful), had breakfast at Stonecliffe each morning (also wonderful), and, most importantly, ended each day sitting on the stone veranda on a comfy cozy sofa for two, sipping liquors, and watching the lights on the bridge. BEST BRIDGE VIEW anywhere on the island. Also the most romantic spot on the island.

Over rated! Over priced! The hotel cost close to $500 for one night. You would think for that kind of money they would be top notch. Not! You have to pay the shuttle to get you there. You have to pay to get back to the ferry. We decided to eat there rather than pay to go back to the main drag and it was as over priced as the room. $75 + tip for some fish tacos and a burger. Burger was decent and the tacos sucked. They have a bunch of old bikes they'll rent you for $12 an hour. You'd think they would have been included. What a joke! An expensive joke too. The whole island was a money pit though for what it's worth. It is pretty on the island but no way can the justify the $$$$$$ price tag.

We had a wonderful stay at the old in part of the property. We enjoyed the spacious room and the friendly staff. The continental breakfast was great! The grounds are large and it is easy to find a place to relax. You can get to the inn via horse drawn carriage, bicycle or your own two legs but be aware it's about a 45 minute walk. I recommend taking your luggage to the inn via the carriage and then returning to town to rent bicycles. Be sure to ride the loop highway around island. Thanks Stonecliffe. We will be back.

Can't say enough good things about this place, riding up to this place is like going back a 100 years. Nestled inn the woods like an old Lords manor. Our room was spacious and impeccably clean. The views of the woods and bridge are amazing. We forgot some cloths in the drawer and we were already off the island, so we called back and they promptly found it for us and had a porter put it on the first boat back to Mack City. Love this place. Almost forgot, the food at the restaurant was awesome too.

Went for dinner sat at the seats on the lawn it started to rain we went to the umbrella tables ordered dinner and just finished eating and the hostess came to our table and said it was for dinner service only and asked us to leave after we ate $250.00 in food and drinks great atmosphere and music but won't go back after getting kicked out and good fellows is better food and down town and we were not the only people asked to leave that night.

The hotel staff are very courteous, the location is wonderful, but the rooms in the Summer House are built worse than any Super 8 I've ever stayed in. We spent most of the evening listening to the sound of our upstairs neighbor walking around and at one point could even hear our next door neighbor talking on her cell phone (at a normal volume). We were then awakened at 6:00 am to the sound of more stomping. Just when we thought things were quiet, the neighbors next door started moving around. I wish I could have enjoyed my stay, as the grounds are beautiful, the view is spectacular and the food is excellent, but the noise levels made us check out early.
