Very nice Modern Hotel. Has a kitchenette, refrigerator, flat screen TV, updated modern bathroom. Very quiet area, with a few mom and pop shops nearby. The staff member that I met to check in was very professional, and helpful. I would most definitely stay here again, especially because the price it's really nice for what I got.

Very, very clean and quiet. For the price, this is a great place to stay close to the city. Includes kitchenette with apartment sized refrigerator, coffee, and they even put new toothbrushes and toothpaste in the bathroom!

We were met upon arrival and shown where the best place to park would be. From there we were taken inside the hotel where we were shown the room and explained details on our stay. The rules were very clearly explained at the beginning of our stay. The room itself was very cozy and clean, perfect for 2 people. The area is also safe in comparison to surrounding areas. There are bars and restaurants in the area. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely return!

Scammer. Enters rooms while people are gone, then contacts them and kicks them out. Charges money for them to retrieve their belongings. All based on the smell of smoke around the building.

LIAR! CHEAT! THIEF! SCAM ARTIST Was charged an extra $350 by hotel for what manager claimed were cleaning fees for smoking in hotel room. First of all, complete fabrication as we were smoking in park adjacent to hotel. Never ever tried to sneak any smoking of any sort in room. Secondly, hotel never attempted to contact me indicating there were additional fees. When I informed him of the absurdity of the charges, would not listen to my logical story. I would never stay here again and urge everyone else to avoid this scam artist like the plague. Thirdly, if we were smoking, which we were not, how in the world does a couple sprays of Lysol cost $350? STAY AWAY!

Seriously beware. Read and listen to the bad reviews. The owner Erik is a scammer. I would give negative stars if I could. If you read a few reviews below mine, you'll see him REVIEW HIS OWN HOTEL, giving himself 5 stars and saying it's the best place to stay in Detroit, and it wouldn't surprise me if he's paid people to write good reviews for him (just my speculation though). My review is more of a story and it is long, but I hope it will prevent any other poor soul from being scammed by this piece of trash. Here's what happened to me and my friend: We are both 21/22 year old college students who booked the hotel for a couple of nights for a music festival that was in town through Priceline. I was sketched out by the reviews on multiple sites, and we honestly should have listened. The neighborhood itself is fine, but the hotel is shady. It doesn't even have a sign indicating it's a hotel except for in small print on the door, so it can easily be missed. When we got to our room, we read the note on the door explaining the house rules in which the very first thing says no smoking. Got it. After our first night there, while we were attending the second day of the festival, my friend got a call from Erik stating that we were being kicked out of the hotel for smoking and that we had one hour to gather our belongings and leave… What?!?! We didn't! And when my friend told him that over the phone, he yelled "bullsh*t! " and continuously called her a liar.

Super friendly staff and very large and spacious rooms. The beds and breakfast was great. Highly recommended!

Love it! Best place to stay in Detroit area! Clean, safe, amenities within walking distance.

Beware of this hotel. The owner Eric will go into your room when you aren't there and steal your belongings. Then when confronted will kick you out of the hotel. Worst hotel I've ever seen and I will be contacting a lawyer.

The owner is so friendly and helpful. The rooms are done with ease. I love this place and stay here often.

This is a pleasant and affordable place to stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. The Manager was friendly and helpful. I was able to check in on the phone, so when I arrived I headed straight to my room. I would definitely stay there again.

Buyer Beware! The area is under heavy construction and there is nowhere to park within a four block radius. It's not the kind of neighborhood where you want to walk down the street after unloading suitcases, nor would you want to leave your car unattended overnight. The owner was contacted and said he understood, but charged us for the room anyway. Don't waste your time with this scam.

This is a lovely little place with all the amenities you would need. The room was furnished nicely with a very large closet. The heat worked well too. I would say though, that it needs curtains instead of blinds. I like it dark when I sleep and the lights in the park seeped right in the blinds. The price was excellent for the clean and well put-together room we had. I was worried about leaving our car parked out on the street, but really the neighborhood was not as scary as it looked when we came in at 10pm. Right down the street is a grocery store so you can put the kitchen in the room to use. There is no front desk but the man I spoke with was very friendly and very helpful. Super close to downtown Detroit, but a very good price. I am planning to stay her next time we come to Detroit.

Just rediscovering this place. Home of Detroit Stars Negro League Baseball Team. Can't wait to help restore it.
