Great hotel and the entire staff is super friendly, very clean and the rooms are like a mini apartment and has everything you need. The free laundry is great as well. Dan the Sales Manager is also very friendly and professional. Room service does a fabulous job. It is very close to everything whether you want to go shopping or visit downtown Detroit it is just a short drive. Very safe area as well. Stayed here for an extended period of time and it felt like home.

The room are huge, room service is great, close to stores, and the expressway.

This place was very nice a bit noisy at night from people going in and out of their rooms. I would definitely stay again.

This hotel is not worth your money. Everything is old and outdated. The halls smelled like old food. Our room smelled like an old basement. The bathroom wasn’t clean, the shower head was extremely rusted. We didn’t have tissue when we got in our room. The bed doesn’t have that comfy hotel feeling. I’ve been to a candlewood before and this is by far the worse that I’ve been to.

It started off pretty rocky but they quickly fixed/addressed everything I had an issue with. Upon arriving for our 3 pm check in, we got there at 2:45 and the desk manger said we had a good 20 min wait because our room was not ready. That was fine because we were 15 min early. He finished up with us, gave us keys at 3 pm and said that we had about a 30 min wait. I asked why did the time change Now that puts us at 3:30 for a 3pm check in. He said they weren't finished cleaning and he would rather be honest with me. I appreciate the honestly but we (myself and a senior) just got off the highway and were tired and hungry. A few minutes goes by, we go to the car to grab our luggage and when I come back in he says the room is still not ready and he wants our keys back because he is moving us from 1st floor to 2nd floor and the room was indeed ready. Great :-) We get to the 1 queen bed suite and it looks great. Clean and spacious. The issue came when I pulled the sofa bed out. I removed the pillows and there were a pile of chip crumbs yuck. I pulled the sofa bed out and there was chewed up gum and crumbs everywhere! The mattress cover had discoloured spots everywhere. I call the front desk they send a house keeper up to take care of everything. She apologized about being extremely short staffed and for the not so thorough job on the room. She vacuumed and made the bed up. We had conversation and she thanked me for being so nice. I was just appreciative they moved so quickly.

It's a nice hotel for under 100 buck's a night. Located near freeways with easy access to downtown Detroit and points East, West and North. Staff is pleasant and friendly. Only get room cleaning once per week but towels and other items can be picked up at the front desk. I've stayed there on several occasions and would stay again.

Place is really nice love the staff no pool and no breakfast kitchen it equipped with dishes n pots n pans. My first room tub was clogged they changed me immediately second room there was a spider n pillows were dorty but over a very nice n clean place.

I've stayed here a couple different times for a few days at a time. Always friendly, front desk and management are very friendly. Even the construction workers were friendly. Very accomadating with the kiddos.

This hotel is ordinary. It's not bad, not overly clean, but not dirty either. It's meant for long term guests, which I was not. Complimentary laundry seemed like a plus. Full fridge and grill outside.

Dirty linen was in my closet, front desk asked me, "how do u know its dirty? " there are crumbs of food left around all over floor and furniture. Old loud appliances, bathroom was cleaned (lots of bleach) but still saw drips around toilet. No ice machines, Wi-Fi is slow… ill stop now.

Very present staff, clean unit, comfortable bed. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel has a pretty big environment with different with ample parking space. The rooms are well decorated and have wonderful furniture.

Have been to this hotel before and I decided to come back Everybody here was so kind and caring, they were very professional in their customer service.

Stayed in Candlewood suites four weeks for a business visit. It was a pleasant stay. Wi-Fi, Gym and Laundry facilities are free. Shops, Medical shops, Restaurants and supermarket are located in walkable distance. Detroit Zoo is less than 5 miles away. Quite far from airport and downtown but nice place to stay if the travel plan around Southfield.

Front desk clerk was very professional and friendly. Room was spacious and clean.

This hotel needs to be updated az am IHG member I dont want to spend points om old furniture and not hot water.

A very pleasant place, home away from home instead of just a room is what the kitchenettes provide. Staff is friendly, everytime you pass the front desk you're greeted. Laundry facilities are large and very spacious are provided. Beds and pillows are like sleeping on a cloud. Looking forward to coming back for an extended stay.

The staff is super friendly. Check in process was easy. Room size was great. Just bothered by the roach crawling in the kitchen when we arrived.

Room was NOT clean! The sofa had spill marks all over it. When I pulled out the pull out bed, there was hair all over it! When I asked the front desk if there was a way to take off the mattress cover, they said that it could not be taken off and I was given extra sheets to place over it. Totally gross! The room smelled horrible. I do not recommend this hotel. We were not aware that they only clean the room every 7 days until we returned to the room and it was obvious that housekeeping had not been done. Other than that, the staff was friendly.

This is a dump! The staff is friendly enough. But the rooms aren't thoroughly cleaned, there are spots on the comforter and the air conditioner in the room is regulated by the front desk. You cannot control the temp in you room. This is low rent housing! Stay away!

This was a super nice hotel for $90 a night on a Saturday. The room was awesome, very spacious with extra amenities you don't typically see in hotels. The bathroom was large and clean. The staff was friendly and it was pet-friendly. No complaints here, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

I am residing in candlewood right now, sad part is they have pulled all big steel vessels from room. We were planning to something delicious for the weekend, all in vein. Can u guys still get me one big steel vessel? Tonight?

The location was perfect because I needed to be close to family in the area. There's no restaurants or stores nearby so be prepared to travel for food or necessities. They have a pantry with food and personal items which is convenient but each item is a $2-$5 charge to your room. The business center is more of a kiosk directly at the front desk. So just a little awkward. The room is spacious with a stove top and full sized fridge. It was pleasant to be able to cook your own food in the room especially if you're there for 3+ days. The beds are great, I slept like a baby. Wi-Fi worked well. The room was clean and the staff was friendly and attentive. This is a solid 3 star extended stay hotel and a good value for what I paid. I'd definitely stay again.

Queen studio is comfy, doesn't seem cramped at all. You can borrow various things from the desk. Sometimes my room smells like food from other rooms.

It Is a beautiful extended stay hotel. Have all the necessary amenities you need for a short period of time. They also offer free laundry services. Friendly guest services attendant. Been here for a week as a part of my job and haven't come across any problems. I wwould highly recommend.

This hotel is among the worst in the Southfield and Detroit. Guests come from two backgrounds: Redneck construction guys from out of state and local people who are transplants from downtown Detroit wishing to escape to a slightly better bad neighborhood. There are very few, if any, suit and tie wearing businessmen. The location of the hotel is a marginal to bad area. The convenience of the palce to highways is also its downfall — many exits to main highways for smash and grabs. There are car break ins weekley in parking lots nearby — A very rough apartment complex — — Knob in the Woods is across the street. The hotel has little to no security and your vehicle or truck sits outside exposed. Regarding the rooms: one word: abysmal. Updated years ago but showing wear from the downscale long-term occupants who have no regard for anything decent. The micro kitchens are over used and worn out by people who have to cook out of financial constraints. So, there are funky world food court smells among different floors. In the laundry room you will find that half the machines are in disrepair — — dryer filters clogged beyond normal routine cleaning and are never emptied. Staff can be found washing their own personal items on any given day. Lately, the manager here has been alllowing guests with large dogs to stay in the rooms — not small dogs — Pits and Dobermans. His thinking being people with big dogs have money so why not create a niche for them here. This can be the dog lover hotel.

I absolutely loved my stay at this location. The room was clean and cozy. It had everything I needed to prepare a meal and the staff was great. I was pleasantly surprised that there was also a DVD player. I will most definitely be returning.

I have lived here for several months now, and am pleasantly surprised! DO NOT STAY at any of the Extended Stay hotels in the area! I made that mistake first and almost gave up on the idea of extended stay. This is the cleanest hotel I have ever seen! You can tell it was recently upgraded. When I pulled out my sofabed, the tag was still on it! Everything in the room seems like I am the first person to use it. Everything you need is here, plates, glasses, stainless cooking sets, pyrex measuring cup, cutlery, silverware, tupperware, etc. Cabinets and dressers look like the dark Ikea furniture. Everyone is really really nice and friendly. The staff is great. Most of the long term guests are doctoral students doing their residency at Beaumont. I have seen the occasional rowdy loud guest, but never long term — and it's happened less than a handful of times in the several months that I have been here.

Clean, quiet, modern amenities, friendly/professional staff. Located in a very nice suburb of Detroit. My hotel of choice whenever I visit family in the Detroit-Southfield MI area. I highly recommend this beautiful all suite hotel.

Incredible updates, nice work folks.

Pros: Location, staff is the most friendly and helpful around. Free laundry? You just can't beat that. Price is the best, is fairly clean and it is fairly quiet. Cons: Smoking. The place is Smoke free; all of its rooms and the whole building has been designated Non Smoking. Sadly, some smokers don't care and will smoke on the halls. There's just no way to avoid the stink, although not inside the rooms, hallways were always stinky. Wi-Fi is extremely slow; plug into wired Lan and is way better. Overall is a pretty good place, with really cool staff, to stay for the price.

The toilet was not cleaned upon initial entry. Nor were the dishes thoroughly washed, I had to clean off a black residue on the forks that were provided. The refrigerator made strange noises as it cooled which was irritating at night. The television had poor reception which I did not mind because I didn't watch it much. The first day I tried to take a shower, the water would not get hot and I could not get the stream to steadily flow from the spout. My second attempt the next day was a lot better. On the flipside, the pantry has an honor system which was very nice for the times I did not feel like leaving the room and just wanted to grab a quick TV dinner. The staff were helpful and the hotel was quiet for the most part. Location was set away from traffic which provided a cozier feel. Free Wi-Fi/laundry room was nice as well.
