Excellent service. Friendly and accommodating staff. Free live music in the courtyard every Saturday from 3-7pm is a true bonus!

One of the hotel owners and his staff are without a doubt, some of the nicest people I've ever been so lucky to meet. They have been more than accommodating to me and my needs. It's the cutest little place that they have redone! I HIGHLY recommend you stay here. It's just down the road from all the downtown fun and is surrounded by the safest neighborhoods. There's even a park just down the street if you have little ones. Overall, LOVE IT and the staff!

Loved this place! Stayed last night for the first time and it was a wonderful experience. The room was super cute and unique! Don’t get me started on that amazing rainfall shower head.

We stay every year when we go to Arts, Eats, and Beats. Nice and clean room. Everyone there is so nice.

I have traveled quite a bit in my time. 1. Rarely do you find a staff so universally friendly and accommodating as you can here. 2. This was the smoothest experience with check-in and check-out that I can remember in recent history. … 3. The Social Executive King suite was reasonably priced, massive, spotless, and had outlets aplenty. The shower had incredible water pressure. I am beyond satisfied, and this was a keystone to the joy I had in my visit to Royal Oak.

Stayed here on 12/31/18 and I would of recommended this place if I didn’t wake up to a ant crawling in my bed. Completely discussing and got told to email management so I did and got no response back from anyone. I ignored reading the bad reviews and it was a big mistake. Will not return or recommend to anyone.

The food was spectacular and the wait staff and prepares were terrific. The manager was the BEST by far taking extra care of our large group. Top notch and will absolutely recommend. Will definitely make many more visits back.

Food was good, staff was very accommodating with our large party. They even have gluten free options.

High energy place. Went for Taco Tuesday, $3 each for chicken or beef. They have a vast menu of other items as well. Primarily known for handcrafted beers drawn from huge vats inside the restaurant. Small patio outside with weekly live music throughout the summer. Inside good size dining area and plenty of flat screens if you're a sports fan. I would definitely go back for Taco Tuesday… maybe next time I'll try a interesting beer they call Noob-Noobs mango-pineapple Milkshake IPA, but its. I gave it 4 stars because I didn't try the beer.

Quaint, pretty plain brewery. Nothing fancy and decor is just routine. Plenty of TVs to watch. Staff was friendly and efficient. Beer was just ok.

I'm so happy to have found Royal Oak Brewery! Their chicken tortilla soup (available every day) is a staple in my life. It's by far the best I've ever had, and I've gotten so many people addicted to it. Not a soup fan? Not to worry. Everything else is incredible, too.

Nice Service, good beer… the wings are not good, they fry it and put some sauce on top… the meat tastes like nothing…

Enjoyed the flavorful beer, the honey glazed salmon was delicious. Nancy and the other ladys were very kind and welcoming. First time there definitely won't be the last.

It’s super cute and clean, but I wouldn’t stay here again. Our room was stiflingly warm all night with baseboard heat, with no way to control the temperature or thermostat anywhere. When I complained in the morning, I was told I should have used the air conditioner. In the winter! I see this isn’t the first issue with this. There is a space for a mini fridge, but no fridge. I would have appreciated a fridge over a Greek character’s bust on the desk and large glass vase on the floor, especially for the cost of the room. The Roku TV was impossible to use, with no way to access the cable tv, and even my tech savvy husband wasn’t able to get it to work, but there is a roku which did not work at all. So we just watched something on our phones. Staff was friendly enough in hearing my complaints, but that was it. No apologies. Will look for another hotel next time we are in the area, or just stay 10 minutes away in Madison Heights for half the price with amenities that actually work. Super disappointed for such a place that is so cute.

Great example of a local community oriented brewery. They typically have 6-8 beers on draft and offer a full bar. Tasty food menu will keep you satisfied at this local staple in Royal Oak. Weekdays they offer a small plates happy hour and reduced prices on beer and drinks. In the warmer months, they have one of the best patios in the area. Checkout their social media pages for regular events including beer releases and tastings.

Great beer. Highly recommend the IPA. They also have a great porter. Food is good especially any specials that would be considered Mexican food. It is always outstanding.

Love this spot. They supplied the beer for our wedding! Excellent beer, food and service! I just wish they crafted their own rootbeer!

I booked a room for my son and I… And there was a mix up with our reservation and the gentleman behind the desk went above and beyond to make things right. Our room is gorgeous, clean and worth the price… Especially considering the other choices close by. Thank you Hotel Royal Oak! I will recommend you to my friends and family in the future.

Very cool local brewery. Great staff, great food, great beer.

My favorite is the beer cheese soup. Perfect for a winter day. We’ve been coming here for 6 years now. The staff is always helpful and polite. Great beer. The brewers bread is great too. The only issue is the food being consistent. Different cooks, cook it different I guess.

We had an awesome stay! Room was comfortable and clean. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I recommend this for anyone needing a good, inexpensive room within walking distance of good restaurants and shops.

Always good food and brews. Friendly staff and a nice bier garten. A little commericalized, but a local favorite, no less. Also, they have a free birthday meal!

We go there often. Good food, good price. Usually we have decent service too. Not so much this last time. Despite the place being nearly empty, to had to keep looking for our server standing in the back talking. Customers do notice these things… especially loyal customers who bring their friends to this place… a little disheartening.

The wife and I, really enjoy coming here. The beer is good, and always changing. The atmoshpere is always good and staff are always friendly. The food is good, but not always consistent. I feel this is the biggest problem. Some nights the food is on point, others not so much… That being said tho it's one of my favorite spots in Royal oak… Try the Brewers bread.

Just came by to sit on the patio and have a meal. Extremely loud and obnoxious table next to us prevented that. I offered to the waitress to pay for the one soda we ordered. She refused, so we gave her 10 bucks anyway for being nice. We would have loved to stay, but if the other table is out of control, then we have to leave. 2 stars for letting the crowd get out of control.

Great beer selection and beautiful and tasty food. Great service and gorgeous patio. Very much enjoyed the live music as well!

Really interesting place. Kind of hipster-like. Everything was square shaped and modern. Awesome location. Right by everything downtown Royal Oak. Only complaint is I found some ants crawling in the bathroom. Only 3 but still a little off-putting. Good price.

The hotel was beautiful and very clean. I loved the stylish rooms and it's location to the bars and restaurants. It would have been nice to have a mini fridge but that was the only down side.

Cozy updated older motel. Nicely decorated and clean. Walking distance to downtown Royal Oak activities. Felt comfortable walking back to motel late at night from downtown. Still needs a few more updates/repairs, and shower water never got completely hot so bathing was quick and a little uncomfortable. Overall nice stay. Would stay again.

Update March 13: We were refunded our night's stay. Really nice folks to talk to. Totally understanding. They explained they were working on the issues. Really went above and beyond in handling the situation. Given that, we would definitely stay there again when we're in town for a concert. I was really excited to stay here, less than a mile from downtown. But… no hot water! We called as soon as we came in to the room and they said it's because the hot water is coming from the other end of the building. We let it run for 10 minutes before we got anything warm. This morning, no hot water, even after running it for 10 minutes! I stopped running it because it's such a waste of water. Looks like there's no showers today. Also, no cable TV but there's Chromecast, which is a cool idea, but I think everyone was trying to connect and stream and speeds were 0.53 mb per second. The heat also really wasn't working in our room. Everyone was really nice, but there's no managers on duty today to address our concerns. So we'll wait… just like the hot water.

Pros: great location, friendly people at front desk, great breakfast deal with restaurant next door. Lovely place to walk and explore. Cons: headboards and furniture had not been cleaned. Sheets were ripped. Furniture was sticky. Hot water ran out fast. Towel in the bathroom was dirty on one side.

I stayed in this hotel the night before my wedding in the suite with my sister. All of my bridesmaids came the morning of my wedding and we had so much room to get ready in with a vast amount of outlets for curling irons! This place looks a little rough on the outside (but it's under construction), but the inside is fabulous and clean! The staff is also very nice, and helpful! Eddie and his team do a GREAT job! I have stayed here once since the wedding in a regular room as well, and it was just as nice!

This hotel is technically a motel. The staff is very accommodating and our stay was very pleasant. Our room was modernly furnished and very clean. For the price, you really can't beat it.

The Hotel Royal Oak is a nice little motel style place. The rooms have been renovated and are clean and comfortable, with a distinct modern style. The staff is helpful, friendly, and generally wonderful.

After spending 5 days at a crappy motel in East Lansing, I thought in Royal Oak I'd try the hotel as previously configured. When I saw the new incarnation and was absolutely amazed! The decor and exterior were like nothing else I've experienced. The room I had (#113) was perfect: from the cool furnishing to the historic photos of Royal Oak! It was singularly the coolest hotel room that I have ever had. The staff was especially and honestly friendly and helpful. And, the room price was eminently perfect. I will definitely stay here whenever I'm back in town. You have also done a great service to the City of Royal Oak with your transformation of this property. Well done!

Cool old motor lodge completely redone with an excellent vibe; the front desk guy was very entertaining and friendly. Super comfy and clean rooms (everything looked brand new) and an amazing location, close enough to walk to our show at the Royal Oak Music Theater. I liked the alarm clock with a bluetooth speaker that charged my iphone and my girlfriend liked the fancy designer coffee brewer in the room. I felt it was a great value and its the only place to stay as far as we are concerned when we're going to a show or need to be close to downtown Royal Oak!

This IS the hotel to stay in Royal Oak. The rooms are awesome and it's in a great area close to all of the action. I recommend anyone stay here. You cannot find a better place. Plus these prices are absolutely ridiculously low. I don't even know how these guys stay in business!

Wow, the renovations done to this hotel are great. I needed a clean nice place to stay near a great night life and this hotel was perfect. It's very close to downtown Royal Oak and the bed was really comfortable.
