I go here because it's near my house and me and my wife like to get away for a night. But the staff is pushing you out at 10:00 when check out isn't till 11:00. (Like I don't know how to set an alarm) so they wake me out of a peaceful sleep. The Jacuzzi kept coming on by it's self, the toilet seat kept falling off. No soap lotion, ECT. There towels feel like your drying off with sand paper (literally) people above us sounded like they were going to come through the ceiling. You wonder why I go back? I gotta say it's clean and the bed and sheets are awesome. And there's a lot of stuff to do and eat around there.

Never ever stay at this place. I rarely ever leave bad reviews but my partner and I left completely disappointed in the staff, the breakfast, the location, the room and even the parking lot. You could not pay me to stay here again and even after telling the management the problems they acted like they knew but could care less. The best thing I can say about this place is I left.

Pretty nice, besides the homeless woman that came in in the morning and fingered all the food. They don't watch the front door and the neighborhood is TERRIFYING. I went to my car late at night and came back in with no card, nobody at the desk. F*** that!

The room itself was decently clean and nice looking, with the exception of yhe disgusting microwave and cracked tiles around the jacuzzi tub. The sounds that the elevator made were quite concerning, I'd stick to taking the stairs. Breakfast was sparse and not very good. The pool was decent but the area wasn't the cleanest. Overall it's a reasonabke stay for the price, but if you can afford it I would certainly book a room elsewhere.

Not bad, has some issues that took awhile to resolve like a shower head with no power, it was fixed after 2 days, and no key to the safe. But the housekeeping is very nice no issues there. The rooms are surprisingly nice and spacious and modern for a red roof. It has a pool and sauna and breakfast with room, those options I have yet to use.

Walking in, I was struck by a strong chlorine smell. The lobby was dated, but reasonable. Once we got to our floor I noticed the carpet was kind of old, and a lot of the doors were scraped up. Then, we arrived in our room and noticed a chunk was missing from the closet door. All the furniture seemed a bit banged up, and… there was a long hair and a crusty smear on the sheet of one of the beds! I also found some kind of liquid pooled at the bottom of the mini fridge. It was super late, my oldest was barely able to stay standing, but I wasn't putting either child in the beds without clean sheets. So, we all went downstairs to request new sheets, which the concierge gave us readily; it was a bit concerning that our report did not seem surprising to them, and the only response was "sorry for the inconvenience. " We'd chosen the hotel because it was walking distance from kid friendly activities, but the area is pretty sketchy, so we were all around disappointed. All that said, I have unfortunately seen worse, so… if you're not overly concerned about cleanliness, and just need a place to sleep, maybe this place will work for you.

Good price. Room was fairly quiet. Loud guests one night. Breakfast was lame and limited. Parking decent and room very nicely sized.

They maintain a clean environment and the location is great 4 non residentials to find things they may need as it is located 10 minutes from a satisfactory shopping area.

It was clean and quiet saw a few minor worn things and the beds were a little bit harder than I like but I would say there again if I was in the area. I will recommend them to anyone else.

The room was not very clean and had a bad smell and the price is high than it is worth.

This hotel is disgusting. I was rather hopeful when we walked into the lobby and it appeared very nice. Then we got to our room which had not a single scrap of toilet paper (probably because the holder was falling off the wall), hair all over the bathroom floor, we were unable to control the temperature, the door lock only operated when it felt like it, dirt all over the tile floor at the entrance of the room and no television service! I can assure The Red Roof Inn that we will never stay in one of your facilities EVER again. If my husband wasn't so tired and in such a bad mood, we would have requested a refund and gone somewhere else. I honestly still want to go somewhere else!

EVERYONE PLEASE READ! My wife has stage 4 cancer and had been given just a couple wks left if that I explained that to staff as I was checking in and that this was for us me and our 4 kids ages 17 down to 2yrs old to be with my wife their mother for her final days I guess is how to word it the man that checked us is was GREAT in every way. But down hill from that point on. If I could give this place 0 stars I would definitely! Me my wife and family have been staying at red roof inns for yrs now whenever need be and have never ever had it be such a horrible place! EVERYONE BUT THE MAN THAT CHECKED US IN WAS JUST PLAIN OUT RUDE DISRESPECTFUL AND EVEN CUSSED AT MY CHILD MY CHILD! And thats not even the worse of it all.

The desk and cleaning people are very helpful and nice. They made my stay alot easy also it is nice inside. It was quite for the most part. I would stay here again. Great location to Henry Ford Hospital.

Check-in was easy only took about 5 minutes, check out however is kind of childish. They checked the room first before they release you from check out. Which made me feel like a high school student all over again. The continental breakfast is all right but I have to eat it with everyone else that's staying at the hotel. Because they won't allow you to go back to your room with food, Wyatt's not like I'm a child. Also the hotel staff seemed a little distance in communication.

My room was nice, my mom didnt have toilet paper, she only had 1 towel but mine was great. My only complaint is it was a bit chilly to me and my thermostat didn't work.

Nice size king size rooms with separate bathroom with deep soaking tub and plenty of satellite TV stations. Dining table for two people and couch with chair and cocktail table for additional seating area. Office desk and free Wi-Fi. Free hot breakfast but just average nothing special. Has coin op washer dryer on 3rd floor two bucks washed or dry, detergent sold at front counter for two bucks so convenient for $6 for clean clothes if you're traveling light.

Beautiful new hotel. Nice pool and hot tub. Fresh breakfast in the morning.

Wow! I really hate that I had to give this place a star at all to post. Now the manager Helen at this place was rude, the guy at the front desk didn't tell me before I paid the early check-in fee that the pool was closed. The only reason we went here was because of the pool and that's one of the amenities right? Nope not according to this location they just falsely advertised having a pool because after giving them my money they told us that the pool was out of order. Why not tell me the pool wasn't working before I check in early? Then they couldn't give me a refund, that goodness I didn't pay for the rest of the rooms I was getting. The manager didn't call me back like she said so after 3 days I call her back only to find out that she didn't even look my stuff up so she still needed to call me back again. This is so very frustrating and so much more happened but I don't have time now to tell you but… Horrible uninformative place zero stars from me and my family.

I stared at this hotel for 4 nights in November 2017. The hotel is pretty nice for a low priced motel. There are some nice amenities including coffee in the Lobby at all times, continental breakfast and a pool /Jacuzzi. Our room was updated and very clean and our beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel staff was very friendly although there seemed to be only one person at any time besides the housekeeping department. There were a few things that I thought could improve. Each Queen bed only had 2 pillows and we only got 2 towels each day. Our toilet paper holder was dangling by one screw and after it fell off they did fix it. The neighborhood is pretty sketchy and the gas station nearby had bullet proof glass shielding the cashiers. On our 2nd night, a man walked into the lobby holding the back of his head and bleeding all over the floor and said he had just gotten beaten up. The hotel clerk took care of him and the blood, but it's a tough neighborhood. The only reason I wouldn't stay here again is that the area is bad.

10/21/2017, bed bugs! do not stay here! they threatened to call the cops after I demanded a refund. I have pictures and videos. I am calling to have this establishment shut down!

I have currently been staying at the Red Roof Inn & Suites in Melvindale Mi for 3 weeks. I am in between closing of a new house and moving out of my old one. This hotel experience has been great! The staff here works hard to make your stay here as comfortable as they possibly can. The cleaning staff is amazing. Every day that I have been here, they check on me several times through out the day to see if there is anything I need even if I tell them that I dont need full service on that day. The work they put in deffinetly shows because this place is extremely CLEAN! The front desk is always helpful and polite. The pool, hot tub, and complimentary breakfast are just a bonus and the price you pay for these services is awesome. I highly recommend this hotel wether you are staying for 1 night, the weekend, or if you need clean, well kept place for a few weeks. This is honestly one of the best hotels at the price it offers that I have been too (and I have been to A LOT) HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I don't ever stay in RR Inns but had to this time and am pleasantly surprised. Clean rooms. Huge bathtub. Appears recently remodeled. Very nice staff!

This place is actually underrated, the rooms were awesome and the service was great. Even let my charge my EV during my stay. I'll definitely use again when I visit.

The hotel itself is in rough shape, the floors are crooked in places the carpet is matted, there's holes in the walls, and the ceiling is water damaged. BUT ON THE BRIGHT SIDE… They do have a complimentary breakfast even though the web site said they don't, and the Jacuzzi in our room was AMAZING! I have never experienced a spa tub like theirs.

Room was a little dated but comfy, seems like management here likes to cut corners to save a buck, one guy at the front desk for 3pm check in, luckily we beat the rush by about 5 minutes, pretty long line once we got our keys. Also, they keep the place warm to save a buck too, no A/C on our room when we checked in, luckily we headed right back out to the Tigers game so it was cool when we got back. Hallways were downright balmy at all times. They offer breakfast but it is pretty scant (crappy pastries, the standard waffle machine). Good for a night or two but don't book long term. Also not much in the area, 10-15 minute drive to downtown Detroit.

Was the worst hotel ever. First upon arrival only 1person checking in while other staff standing around. 5 people in line including me. This took 40 mins. Room had a broken tank top on the toilet which would not flush unless u lift the lid and flush it yourself. Booked the room mainly for hot tub. It was ice cold and not working, sauna not working. No towels for pool had to run to desk for some dripping wet. Which caused the shiney marble floors to be a mess. Mop it no way they just put a couple caution signs out and left the water on floor. Was no told when booked online that you have to have a $50 cash deposit for safety of the room at which when you check out they actually send somebody up there to go in the room and inspect it before giving you back your $50 deposit I have never in my life had to do this you simply give them your credit card when you book it and when there's when and if there's damage they will Bill your credit card horrible horrible service very rude staff will never ever ever return to that hotel and I suggest you don't either! Well I'm trying to post this without giving them a rating so I guess I'm being forced to give them at least one star or it doesn't let you post but actually it doesn't even deserve a triple zero. When checking out I asked for corporate phone number and they very rudely said it doesn't matter that they were just a franchise.

The room was recently renovated but had an oder to it. There also needs to be a place for towels in the bathroom.

Hotel and room was clean and quite. Regular Breakfast. Stuff member is nice but very restriction. Keep deposit for room until u leave. Before u go in to room make sure comforter not ripped. Both comforter was ripped.

This is a great hotel. Friendly customer service, they're high quality rooms you don't expect from your normal Red Rood Inn. Spent quality time with family and very close to Detroit! There are many options for food and tourist destinations like Greenfield Village, Downtown Detroit, Comerica Park in the nearby area. Definitely will stay here again.

Good and quiet place but it's in a remote area and it only has 2 resraurants (Wendey's and White Castle) and a gas station with a mini market near to it! It's better to have a car while staying there.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for two nights. The staff at the front desk were very rude, but the rooms we had were clean. The pool and hot tub weren't that great and don't plan on trying the breakfast because it was horrible, but if your for a reasonable priced hotel to stay a few nights this place is decent.

Where do I start… Pull up to two police SUV's at the main entrance. Upon getting to the desk the clerk is nowhere to be found. Once she comes out to check us in she has an unpleasant demeanor. She ask for my credit card and ID and says she running my card for x amount of dollars now. I ask "aren't I supposed to be charged upon checkout" She stutters and say no at check-in. I told her the policy on the hotel website says room are reserved via credit card and paid at checkout and I've never known any hotel to charge the room before checking out. She decided to call corporate to prove her point to me, when they justified what myself and the website stated. After hearing corporate she still decides to call her manager. While handeling my problem she checked out another customer and refused to return her deposit because the had to change her room due to the hotelroom door not functioning properly. Instead of giving both situations their proper attention she attempt to discuss them at the same time. The desk clerk and manager were very unprofessional, condescending, and just plain rude. They don't appreciate their customers.

This is a nice budget hotel. The room was clean and the staff was apathetic at worst. The area isn't too nice, but the hotel does nice to set that aside inside the building. There is also a complimentary breakfast which was nice with some warm options such as a waffle, bagels, or some pastries (warm if you use the microwave).

Never been here, but I'm planning to stay here my next visit. Is this a red roof or comfort inn?

VERY CLEAN! When I walked in I could smell the laundry being cleaned. Room was very well maintained. The pool was warm and the even have a steam room. Would definitely stay here again.

I mainly got a room to use the hot tub and sauna but the sauna didn't work.

The staff was excellent and very accommodating. The room was very clean, although the furniture and door had wear and tear. That didn't matter much to us. The pool was warm and clean, and the hallways, front and elevator were clean. The location seemed a little seedy, but hey it's Detroit. The problems I had with this hotel were the other people staying in it. The walls are super thin, so you can hear EVERYTHING. There was a party going on in the two rooms next to us and one above as well. Though I'm not against it, there was weed wafting through the halls. We had our kids with us, so this was so not cool. At 3am, I had finally had enough of hearing Tanisha and Quan drunk fighting and arguing about whether or not he was flirting with Tasha at the riverwalk (yes the walls are that thin) So I asked the staff member at the front desk if there was any room at the other end of the hotel available. He said there wasn't, but told me he would go knock on the door and tell them to stfu. He actually did, and amazingly they shut up. So again, staff excellent, hotel goers, not so much.

Key cards always failed. Management was inept and not nice and did not speak English or german. Denied us a cot. No coffee at 1 am. Made us leave the meeting room. Made Marcel cry. Breakfast gives diarrhea. City rules are confusing. Loud people. No room service. Wifi was bad, slow and not good. Swimming pool was okay, dope tubbing. Gym is unsatisfactory, planet fitness was even better. Bad views from Windows. Roof was not even red. Had to pay for free drinks. Finally the elevator stalled and my friend is still in it after 3 days. Plz help now. Much hunger such starvation.

We stayed at this hotel for the night before the Detroit International Marathon. Not this past fall but the year before. Accommodations where good for the price. Now a year and half later they are attempting to charge us again. Not only did we receive a fraudulent charge the Bank was able to tell us it was a Manual entry of the card number. This means they physically have the card number written down. Another member of our party has also received a charge. We thought maybe a mistake, but when it's more then one it is a pattern!
