The rooms smelled and it appeared no maintenance performed. A/c unit hanging out of wall, phone didn't work, TV didn't work properly. Found a bug in my bed. This is like a crack motel and really seedy. I wouldn't stay here for free.

It was what I expected for the price. Room was an okay size for just one night. Really close to where we were needing to go. Room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned with stuff still in the fridge and in the trash. No biggie really. Bedding was clean and crisp. You can tell it was washed and changed. Shower was really loud through walls when you ran the water. It made it hard to sleep when someone showered. The Wi-Fi didn’t work what so ever. We didn’t bother calling because we were so tired from our travel but it was rather irritating. The door was tricky to work, to close it you had to turn the handle from the inside on your way out. Kinda weirded me out. But it was okay. Staff was really nice. Would stay here again if we had to but wouldn’t be my first choice.

The clerk was very curt and gave little help. The room smells like three day old socks. The door looks like someone with arthritis can kick it in. The A/C sounds like it's on its last legs. The refrigerator is a college reject. The bathroom barely fits one person. The drawers were kicked in from a previous drunk. And the TV tilts at a 30 degree to the left. It's definitely a 5 star cheap hotel.

Had a reservation for a regular room with a king size bed. They put me in a handicap room that smelled like cat pee. They were able to switch my room. Still handicap so no counter space and no bathtub. I can deal with that but, no towels I can't. One isn't enough for 2 people. They were completely out the man said. The toilet overflowed from toilet paper. No plunger to be found. The housekeeping didn't clean room. Very disappointed!

This place was absolutely disgusting. Booked a room for one night only to read the reviews and find out there are bed bugs here! We decided to see for our self in our room and sure enough there was a big one under the mattress with several shells and and eggs under the bed sheets. Covers were stained and needed to be cleaned. Entire property smelled of cigarette smoke despite dozens of no smoking signs, even inside the rooms it smelled of smoke marijuana. The bathtub was dirty with the entire floor covered in brown stains. We asked to stay on another room and they upgraded us to a king room. The room got a bit chilly at night so we turned on the heater, only to realize there was something burning in it. The smell of burning gas and oil filled the room in minutes and lingered for the entire night. Thankfully they actually put a little effort into cleaning this room since there were not any bed bugs or dirt in the bathroom. Stay away.

I will never stay at this location again! First room I got SMELLED HORRIBLE… I asked to be changed and they said no they had no rooms… then the so called general manager placed something to try to suck the odor away and it didn’t work. I couldn’t get a refund for the rest of the nights I paid for. Second day I demanded to be moved and the cocky manager gave me an attitude. Talking about he didn’t smell anything. Anyway his demeanor was very bad. Second room did not smell but it was very raggedy… lights not working properly. Worst experience ever back to the Courtyard we go. I guess that’s what I get for trying to save money.

If you're in to bed bugs, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! I'm just going to confirm all the other negative posts I read. I normally don't put too much stock into the negativity unless it's consistent because, well, people are people and "that's all I got to say about that, " but this place IS truly awful. When I tried to switch rooms (2-bed), after I brought down a couple of critters trapped in between two RR plastic cups, they wanted to charge me for a second room because they were out of doubles. The poor sweet little girl behind the counter was put in a terrible position by her manager when he refused to accommodate me with a second room without additional payment. He wouldn't even talk to me over the phone and I never heard a thing from him the whole week that we were there. I wasn't about to fork over ANY more money causing a big scene between the desk clerk, myself and then finally other guests that accumulated in the lobby during the hour and a half that I spent down there trying to get into a CLEAN room without having to pay. The desk clerk, God bless er, ended up giving me the second room against her bosses command. I sure hope that she didn't get reprimanded and or fired. The moral of the story is… STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! BTW… The only reason it gets a star is because Google won't allow me to to post this without one.

Our stay was nice the room was very clean, the staff was professional. My kids enjoyed staying there. Even though we got locked out the staff was super helpful and got us back in quickly.

My Experience: I stayed for 7 days. Never vacuumed. Sheets were never changed just adjust the existing sheets. Occasional room service. Towels were changed regularly. Hair from old guests every where. Door lock was bad. Found and removed few bugs. Except this it was ok. Not recommended with Family or Kids. If you are alone and just need a place to rest then this is the cheapest option in the area. Parking is good. Location is excellent. Because of location and low price this hotel is still in business. Airbnb is best option for lower prices in this area.

HORRIBLE! They ran out of the room we had rented so they gave us a free upgrade which was nice but that's where the good impressions stopped. First thing we noticed was the food crumbs still on the bed. We inspected the bed sheets further and found white crusty "stuff" on them. Walked into the bathroom and there was still piss on the floors! It's a cheap hotel and it still wasn't worth the cheap price. Just sleep in your cat and bath in a puddle. You'll be more comfortable.

Stay anywhere except here. They should really have a major reconstruction and deep cleaning at this property. Everything from bed bugs to trash really need to be addressed. This property is overdue for a major overhaul in every area. Trash in the parking lot is inches deep. They have never picked up the cigarette butts that encrust the property. Please do not even think about removing your shoes inside of the room because you do not know what will get on your socks. The mold in the bathroom has such a smell that if you bathe please use shower shoes and be sure to spray disinfectant before even attempting to use anything in this property. Honesty hurts and in some cases it is the best medicine. If I had never stayed at this property I could never have left this thorough of a review about something so bad. As a travel professional I feel responsible for telling the truth, so that you won't suffer and pay for what I've already been through for you. Avoid this property unless you have no other choice.

Room was OK service was OK all in all very solid.

Not worth the money. Room smells. Sheets smell like smoke. Bathtub dirty. Housekeepers solicit for tips. AC, chair, door lock, smoke detector, and safe all broken. Lamp shade looks like it got into a fight and lost. On the plus side, nice painting on the wall.

It was clean … the staff was nice so friendly and helpful … I had some issue with the door lock sometime the key not working and I need go to lobby to reprogramming the key door… the price was good $46 double bed room… but totally was good.

Located close to freeway and easy to access all coffee shops, restaurents and shopping malls. Rooms are good. Its economical & Worth to stay.

Doors don't work half the time. Card with make the door turn green but handle will not open the door. Office people get irritated if you ask for help to many times. Manager that was supposed to be on duty was in OHIO and I had to wait an hour with 3 children under 3, for someone to let me into my own room. No laundry fecility. No fun for children. No swimming. Just a pop machine with pop expired by 4 years and a coffee set up.

Basic but exactly what you need if just visiting the area. Was a good base close to my other half. Would happily recommend.

OMG this place had bed bugs and they bit me up terribly bad. I took a bug in a bag to the front desk and the attendant didn't even try to change my room. She asked me "What am I pose to do with that"? I left at 1am with no new room or a refund : (not a place of value. I called several times the next day to speak with the a manager… but yup you guessed it… No answer, return phone call or reply! sad sad sad gotta do better…!

This was a scary visit. Orgies all night long prevented us from sleeping and the next day their bed thumped against the wall and the music was ridiculous. The handicap room we stayed in was dirty and we almost left right when we walked in. The service was horrible and my handicapped mother was promised someone would come help her and then they said they had no staff available. We were too scared to call on them because there was no one else in that area of the hotel and we were scared they would come start problems. We paid through bullet proof glass. This was a horrifying holiday experience, don’t stay here. Find somewhere safe.

Room smelled like cigarette smoke, there was a bunch of random trash under the beds. What looked suspiciously like dried blood on the bathroom door. There was a big hair left on the obviously not cleaned shower. The chair in the room was broken, the leg was hanging off. The cleaning staff came to our room twice to ask us if we were leaving that morning. The TV screen was weirdly dark and could not be adjusted. The light bulb in one of the lamps was hanging off the lamp. Oh and the door's deadbolt would not actually go in the door unless you pushed it in a bunch of times. All in all, not super impressed. Definitely would not stay here again.

I’ve stayed here long term (2 months) for my job and at first it was great. Good staff and management. I stayed at another hotel close by for 2 weeks and then came back to this Red Roof because the other hotel was worse. They changed management over that 2 weeks, and now it’s not any where near the great experience I had previously. The new night desk clerk when I complained about their staff not leaving clean towels, opening my curtains wide where every one walking saw all my belongings in the room, never wiping down the counter or anything, half-ass makes the bed, and then leaves an envelope for a tip, says to me they don’t clean for long term (13 night) stays. Seriously? They have no indicator they do not clean daily for “long term stays” first off, and that has nothing to do with my complaint of the half-ass cleaning that is taking place right now. Not really wanting to bring my business back to this hotel where they are only worried about how many days they need to clean. Unless the old management returns, I would not recommend this hotel.

Very impressed, and a surprising stay overall. Better experience with the staff than I've received at many high scale hotels where I usually stay — checking in at 3 am and having to get going by 9, location was more important than name brand, and I feel lucky to have chosen this motel. The clerk was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and tidy if not entirely modern, and I rested well without being disturbed by rowdy neighbors or traffic noise.

I stay here about once a week … a lot of junkies in the area but otherwise I love it rooms are clean & I have not seen any bugs. Its worth the money.

My wife and I stayed here for a vacation. Overall, pretty good hotel, but we also didn't spend a whole lot of time at the actual hotel. The room we had was a little small, but we really just slept in the room, so we weren't looking for much. If you have kids or something, this might not be the best bet. Location wise, it is kind of on a weird road, but once you know where it is, its pretty easy to get into and out of, and you're close to all the Novi and Farmington Hills restaurants and shopping.

Very very disappointed was charged 3 times for my room, when we called front desk the girl said "I can't help you call back in the morning" OK my acct went negative which caused me to accrue charges. Called again later for wash cloths and a question on the TV no Detroit sports channel… she said " will call you right back" again no calls extremely rude. I had to address my charges with my bank today as Saturday no one was there. Will not stay again, nor will I recommend, shame it is a great area and could really do well.

Most of the time what a traveler need is a clean room, good Wi-Fi, safe neighborhood, eatery options and a good customer service. And believe me, this property has got everything what one needs. Rooms are clean, good Wi-Fi, located right on interstate exit connecting all interstates, neighborhood safe and connected to multiple eatery cuisines and gem of a customer service staff Sophia, Regina, Brooke, Rafia, Ike all of them. Thanks Sophia & Regina always to guide and help me out with my requests. Keep rocking Team!

The Red Roof Inn is not far from the freeway. It's close to a family restaurant. The service was good. Rooms were nice and clean. They were very professional in the front office. All around our stay has been great since we been here.

Friendly service for my one night stay. Room was clean enough to sleep, however the room could definitely be updated. The TV was to dark to watch and even though the area is nice the one night was very noisy from traffic and housekeeping. Overall ok.

Not bad for a little getaway. Bugs but what cheap place doesn't have them. Some tenants were creeps but wait staff overall were pleasant.

Internet is non existent, no one was willing to help. The manager spent an hour outside my room on a personal phone call yelling at someone. There are bugs in the bathroom, spiders and beetles (i checked the bed, no bugs that I could see) the TV is fuzzy, the movies are outdated but they still charge 17.99 for them. This place is a duuump. In all my years, this is the crummiest, smallest room I've ever paid 70 dollars for. Do NOT come here, save your money and go to the kings inn across the street, I certainly will next time.

Horrible experience staying here! Filthy room and no opportunity to get a different room because they were sold out. Had to put towels on the bathroom floor to walk on because it was super dirty and sticky. Toilet looked clean on top and bowl rim, but the base of the toilet was absolutely disgusting. Counter surfaces also unclean. I ended up doing some cleaning myself just so I could put things on the counter. I've stayed at other Red Roof Inns and never experienced this!

Good hotel, really good place to eat within walking distamce.

We were pleased with the clerk at the front desk. She aided us when we had a problem with the room at check-in and she upgraded us and made sure we were happy. We would recommend this hotel to family and friends… as a matter of fact, we already have.

Price and decor are great. Friendly staff. No pool or breakfast though. TV was fairly small and quite dark to see the screen. Better than a motel 6 and the water pressure is good but could still use a little closer cleaning detail.

I have to say, of all the hotels in the area, this hotel is GREAT. Excellent customer service from Sophia, everytime I stay there. I'm in from out of town a lot and have never had a bad experience there. The place is very clean, nice and peaceful. One time I made a mistake on Expedia with my Reservation and John the manager told me not to worry and took care of it right away. He actually got me into a room fast when I was the one who made the mistake. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I'm in town. I actually get worried they might not have any vacancies when I'm on the flight there. I highly recommend this hotel to all. The price is right and the service exceptional… Thanks guys…

This hotel is ok. If you can get it for a good price, go ahead and stay here. However, you have to realize that this hotel is showing its age. It isn't hard to find signs of wear and tear. My bed was hard to sleep in, it was not flat. The mattress was bowed in the middle. It felt like I was sleeping on the side of a hill.

Good location right by express way. Clean tidy room. Friendly and fast service.

Our remote doesn't work for the TV. The shower drains very slow. Had about two inches of water after my shower. Took about 10 minutes to fully drain. Another bathroom thier toilet had a hard time flushing.

Found tons of bedbugs obviously the customer service sucks I hated my stay. The person in the front was kind of nice. There were bed bugs, nats, fleas, and ticks. The bed was so bad my cloths my personal pillow and blanket both got infested and I had to throw them away. Would not recommend even for a homeless person. Even with all these faults we don't even get breakfast. I cant believe that a health association hasn't shut it down. I hadn't realized it but I ended up getting sick. If I could rate this with negatives I would put negative 99 out of negative 100. The funny thing is, the last red roof inn I stayed at was infested with sugar ants so is there really a coincidence?

Great for having the dog and while the rooms are smoke free they allow the guests to stand right out front of the room doors and smoke. The overnight guy wasn't friendly but the ladies in the morning were awesome.

The night clerk that checked us in was apathetic. The woman at the front desk in the morning was very sweet, however, which saved the experience. Room was fine for the 8 hours I was there.

It was an ok place to stay. Small but the room had a fee amenities, the price was ok but for the place and time of night I got there, I wished it could've been cheaper.

The hotel is conveniently near the free way and a few places to eat. Clean room and good service. Great for the price!

Stopped there because we had our dog. We didn't have a reservation but check in went easy enough. Room was clean. Bed could've been a bit more comfortable.

The staff here have been great. The internet here is terrible! Had to go to McDonald's to connect to facebook! Skype to talk to family would not connect. Beds are far from comfy. If you want to sleep (not comfortably) get place for the price! Can not beat the price! If you want more go else ware. Don't be fooled free WI-FI is far from acceptable.

I stayed in this hotel the week of March 5-7th, 2013. Check-in was pretty quick. I went to my room and had alot of work to do for a presentation the next day. Around 2:00am I was ready to go to bed and pulled the covers down to find 15-20 long black hairs on the sheets. I had a double bed room and although very disgusted, I was tired and didnt want to move in the middle of the night so opted to try the other bed. Yes you guessed it, the other bed was as bad or worse with long balck hairs in the sheets and stains on the sheets. I had to get dressed and go to the front desk. I had to talk to the front desk operator through the 2" thick glass plate. She moved me to another room without much question. This room was a queen bed and "appeared" to be clean. I went to bed. I got up the next morning and turned on the TV to watch local news while getting dressed. Of course the TV did not work. After getting dressed, I again went to front desk and complained about the TV. They said no one has ever complained about the TV. I left for my meeting and upon returning, there was a different TV in the room that did work in some fashion. I do not know if they just do not subscribe to the "normal" hotel type programming but you could not order or watch any of the movie channels or premier programming. Upon check out NO discount was offered until I received the bill and complained that I was not going to pay full price.

It's an inexpensive place to stay. If you want 4-star quality, go to the 4 star hotels and pay that price. Other wise if you're just looking for a place to crash, this works. The front desk staff were friendly and the rooms were presentable.

We stayed to get out of the heat. The rooms are very clean and look newly refurbished. The staff was very polite. You can't beat the price.

THEY DON'T DESERVE YOUR MONEY! They do not clean their rooms I am SO appalled that when I confronted them on their poor housekeeping they immediately jump on the defense CALL YOU A LIAR and quick to take your money and will kick you off the property (even if you are being civilized) and not refund you for the nights you had left! So because of us finding a used red rubber in their room they got to keep my 1/3 nights I paid for! The supervisor "Frederick" was so unprofessional and IGNORANT! I talked to corporate and they says usually if they tell you to leave the property that they won't follow up on the case! Well duh! That why it Made sense he told us to leave even though my husbands voice was low and he wasn't cursing, he was being completely respectful letting the supervisor know about what we had found! Even with the evidence in their face they called us liars! I'm pregnant, would I really need a condom with my husband? overall the staff here are all unprofessional, rude, and flat out don't care about being hospitable! Worse place ever.
