Extremely kind staff! Quiet room! Updated.

My husband is here working on the windmills and we spent 5 weeks here. We were very pleased with the room and the owner was very nice. We would still be there but we got our own camper. I recommend this place hands down the cheapest in town.

My family and I have stayed here two summers in a row. It was such a lovely experience! From the great clean rooms, free Wi-Fi, free cookies, and helpful service! The low rates were bonus because the South T made our vacations so very special!

The cockroach occupancy was higher then the human occupants. There was mold on the shower curtain, the shower was cold and what looked like a booger smeared on the wall. Although it looked like there was recent updates to the rooms furnishing you still couldn't over look the cockroaches and overall lack of cleanliness. I do not recommend this motel. The old saying rings true here… You get what you pay for. Cheap price, critter infested motel. Per your response. I did stay there June 30, 2018 room 45. It's a little hard to voice my concern as the office was closed when I checked out and had to leave the key in the mailbox outside the office door.

This is very clean, very nice motel. The rooms are pretty modern, the location is terrific, and the price is the best in the area.

The rooms we're large and cozy nice and modern smelled nice and very friendly staff.

Working in town staying here pretty good no bugs and they clean everyday.

I stayed here for several nights in early December with my dogs. Very nice, very clean room with good decor and a microwave and mini-fridge. Parking spot right outside my door. Large grassy area to take dogs out. Would definitely stay here again.

I just had my 1st stay at the South T this Saturday, January 27, 2018 for the Winter Games. I am beyond impressed! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The lobby was very welcoming. It smelled amazing, looked cozy, and had yummy cookies waiting for me on a cold day. I found it very easy to park close to our room and when I opened the door, it felt like home. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean, well kept, very spacious, and newly remodeled. The rooms have new everything! My room looked more like a hotel room I'd find for 4x the price and less customer service. ANYONE reading this review should definitely put it on their "must" list for places to stay when you're in the area. It ended up snowing over night and I'd forgotten a scraper/brush to clear off my vehicle. I was brushing snow off with my arm when the owner came out to clear it for me! I am just nothing but impressed with my entire experience. This is place is truly a gem and I would go out of my way to stay at the South T again and again! I will absolutely be back! Don't judge this book by it's cover, a great little motel at extreme affordable prices.

I stayed there a week during the summer, it was wonderful! The staff were friendly and very helpful as we didn’t know the are and wanted to make day trips to the lake. Great place to stay!

Hands down the BEST motel/hotel accommodations in town. Right on the edge of town and easily accessible to many restaurants/stores. I really like the little beach motel set-up and the remodeled rooms are super cozy and very nicely done. The staff is always very kind and accommodating too. I'd live there if they let me! South T will always be my first choice during my stays in Spencer. I don't think you'll find this great of quality at these prices anywhere else.

Always clean but boring… paid a higher price than before for a room to relax after a meeting at event center. Felt like I needed to go out in cold drizzle to do something as there was absolutely no working TV or radio that night and still the next day.

Nothing fancy but it nice and they've done updates.

Pretty decent, clean satellite TV, vending, ice, laundry facility. Many restaurants centrally located.

Ok for the price which was half of everything else in town. Has been remodeled but room still a bit beat up. Nice staff. Easy stay.

Love this place! Booked it because of the retro look — the outside is just what it promises to be! The interior, however, is very modern. Wonderful hardwood floors and great amenities. Cozy, well furnished rooms. No breakfast, but they have cookies! Now I just have to find an excuse to return to Iowa.

Friendly staff, very clean and recently updated. The table and chairs outside each room was a nice touch. Great place to stay.

The hotel was great, very clean and modern exceeded expectations. Beverly at the front desk was amazing… she even offered to let us use her van when we could not get a cab on a Sunday. Will definitely stay here again when in Spencer Iowa.

My husband, our daughter and her husband stay for 5 days for a family wedding and had the most wonderful time! With 5 weddings that weekend every hotel in the area we fairly booked up my months in advance so we booked our 6 mons out and it we as the best deal and room around! Thank you very much for your hospitality and extra keys when I got locked out.

I stayed in the triple room and it was nice and quiet. My two boys loved the bunk bed and they are very comfy beds. I had internet issues and they helped me fix the issue as fast as they can.

It seems kind of low grade because so many construction workers stay here, but it's honestly very safe (the lights outside are left on at night so no funny business is happening). Once, the lock on the door to my door broke at 4AM when I was trying to get back in and the hotel owner came out and temporarily fixed it. The next day, he made sure a locksmith came out to repair it and got me a new key! The rooms have all been recently renovated and the maids all do their duties extremely well. I love this motel.

I love this hotel. The staff is so friendly and the maids are super nice. They always remember to give me extra towels. They are VERY clean and the rooms are updated and nice. I love how each room has a desk w/ lamp. It's very convenient since I am an online student. I recommend that everyone stay here!

Newly remodeled and nice inside. Biggest complaint would be the deadbolt was broken.

Great Motel! I've stayed in Spencer a few times and there isn't a better place to stay in Spencer than here. Appears to have been recently renovated. Very clean. Front desk staff is awesome. One of the owners, I believe her name was Illa, even invited me to try some authentic Indian food once and it was fantastic! I would recommend this motel to anyone and I'll certainly be back.

Great motel and recently remodeled. Customer experience was great and close to all things to do! Definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone traveling to Spencer.

Always my choice of places to stay when I'm in this part the country. The staff is very kind and courteous. You can tell they value their customers and always provide great service. They go out of their way to make sure you feel at home. The rooms are always clean and look great after the renovations. If you're looking for a great place to stay in this part of Iowa, look no further!

Here they have extra outlets right over the table in between the beds and there is even a USB plugin! That might seem to be a small detail, but it is a very important one for me. The room is large, very clean, smells great and unlike the big expensive chain hotels it does not smell like mold, since these days they only cool the air and leave the humidity, causing mold. Staff is very friendly… It doesn't get any better than this!

They were willing to help me during fair time (busy). Nice clean place, comfortable beds, laundry, ice, great internet. Close to a lot of places.

Very friendly staff. Clean rooms. Modern and nice decor with a mattress that was super comfortable. Best night of sleep I've had in a long time. Great value for your money. This will be our go-to place when we are in the area in the future.
