Good location, small town.

Staff is horrible unfriendly not helpful horrible place. Beware they charge you for stuff that is not reasonable. Will never stay here again!

The cleanest hotel around.

We had problems with the Jacuzzis in two different suites but they accommodated us for the problems I would definitely recommend them.

Paid extra for a pet and they charged an extra $65 dollars for clean up on tops of the $25 a day pet charge. We called to dispute explaining it was a bunny in a cage there isn’t any cleanup and they refused to removed the charges. Why have the pet rate if you are just going to screw the customer and change more. I wish I had pictures to prove there wasn’t any extra cleanup needed! Not staying at this dishonest hotel again.

Very clean & quiet with very comfortable beds all& al a nice place to stay.

I stayed here about a week ago to visit my new grand baby. It was very nice. The young man at the desk helped me set up my new phone. The bed was comfortable and the food was delicious.

Everyone was so friendly here. We stayed there for 6 days. And, love that this hotel is close to Cornell Colleage. We liked it so much, we already reserved our room for our next trip. They offer a nice breakfast, and the lady that works in there is very friendly.

There was a line when I came to check in but the guy at the desk so super fast efficient and friendly, by the time I was done responding to an email on my phone, someone had tapped me on my shoulder and said it was my turn. After checking in, I could see how line went so fast. Usually if it goes that fast the service sucks, but in this case, totally professional and friendly. On to the room. I stayed in there quiet area and it was awesome. Huge t. Vs, dvd player, fridge and a microwave. The hot tub felt great after a long drive as well. Slept inn so I didn't get to try the breakfast, but the lady still offered me so fruit or doughnuts. Very nice of her.

Very clean. Remodeled 2-3 years ago, so very new looking. Staff was very nice. Beds were comfortable, pool was nice, but cold. Typical of most motel swimming pools. Breakfast was really good.

Just stayed there about a week ago, and it was excellent. I am actually heading back there tonight, because of an emergency, they are so understanding in helpful. (Unlike airlines)

Clean rooms. Indoor pool and spa. Great breakfast.

The bed was horrible. I had been there less than 30 mins and asked for refund as I was very unhappy with bed. They lowered it but still charged me $90 even though I was there less than a half hour. No such thing as customer satisfaction here. I spoke to manager and corporate and still no luck. I’ll continue to stay at Holiday Inn from now on.

Do not stay here, staff were unfriendly, rooms were disgusting and the complimentary breakfast was horrible. Maybe if the staff would stop drinking on job it could be better place. Update: Now the staff is threatening me because of a not so good review. Maybe try focusing on doing a better job and your review could be better. This is a free country I can have my own opinion about anything so your empty threats mean nothing. To the owner: It's a shame that a business man like yourself can be so close minded that you only get one side of the story to make judgement. Your being lied to and manipulated just like I was. You have no idea who I am or what I have been through. I never harassed anyone at your hotel. Your employee is a compulsive liar and drinks on the job everyday. My review of your hotel is on point with my experience. Everyone will not have the same experience but I am free to voice my opinion, no need to bash my name because of your incompetence.

I get a room here once a year no problems until this last time when my card was charged an additional $80 for supposed food smashed in the carpet witch was not true. I made sure of that. Manager lied and said he had to put the room out of order. I do not recomend this place. One of my rooms smelled like smoke and the other had dead flies and dust all over in the window seals.

Nice rooms. Good hot breakfasts and a large breakfast area with plenty of seating and great views. Friendly service desk people.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped make my event more enjoyable.

The reception and the check-in were well and quickly completed.
The room was spacious and like the bathroom clean.
Refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker were provided.
The bed was comfortable and nicely wide.
The breakfast also tasted good.

Fantastic customer service. Super clean establishment and newly renovated. Even had DirecTV which is an absolute game changer for people doing a short or extended stay!

Love this hotel~ especially perfect for anyone visiting Cornell College. The staff is very friendly & helpful, (especially JJ! ), and the breakfast is better than the other Sleep Inn properties I have visited. They have a pool, hot tub, laundry room, ice machine, and plenty of parking on both sides of the building. There's a Hardee's, Subway, Dairy Queen, a Mexican Restaurant, and an ATM machine at thw bank all within 2 blocks. There's also a grocery store another block or so away, plus a gas station/convenience store that has hot fresh pizza whole or by the slice plus freshly made deli sandwiches. I've stayed here off and on for 4 years, and the hotel is always clean and has free newspapers in the morning & occasionally free cookies in the evening. (Hot coffee, hot water, and tea bags are always available. ) The beds were comfy, the sheets are nice, and each bed always has 4 pillows. The only thing you may want to verify is if your room has a tub or shower only. *They also have at least one 1 bedroom Suite that has a Jacuzzi in the living room! The property has 3 floors and an elevator, plus is handicapped friendly.

Really excellent customer service at this hotel! I reserved a room block for our wedding in Iowa City, and the manager, Jason, was far and away my favorite vendor to work with. He gave us very reasonable rates, even on a Hawkeye home game weekend. He was super helpful throughout the whole experience responding to questions (via email or phone) almost immediately. Thanks so much for making this a stress free experience!

Bed bugs. There were bed bugs in our room. They were nice putting our clothes in the dryer to get them off and delivering our room but STILL. IF YOU HATE BED BUGS AND DIRTY beds hid under the covers don’t come here.

Just used their meeting room, always tidy and clean, staff is friendly and helpful.

Hotel/room was clean, had no issues with checking in, was able to have late check out. Suite room was nice size for big family. Pool was clean and open late. Would stay there again.

The Sleep Inn & Suites of Mount Vernon Iowa was a perfect place to stay. We had a family wedding and it was situated close to everything. The rooms were spacious, beds extremely comfortable and accommodations very clean. I am extremely picky and this Sleep Inn exceeded my expectations. Definitely the place to stay!

My daughter just graduated from Cornell College and we have stayed there several times over the past 4 years ALWAYS had a great stay! Always clean and everything updated! Great staff always helpful!

My girlfriend and I were visiting family in the area. We stayed in a jacuzzi suite. The accommodations were very nice. Bed was very comfortable and the jacuzzi was a blast. Pricing was very good especially for the size of the suite. Staff was very friendly and even offered later checkout time. Perfect for a date night away from home!

Internet/cable were out but it still was a good stay. Mediacom just sucks.

Rooms and staff are great but the swimming pool is frigid.

We used the banquet room for a couple's bridal shower and it was perfect! The staff had all the chairs and tables with linens set up exactly how we asked, they let us come early to decorate, bring whatever we wanted into the room for food and drink, and did the vacuuming and cleaning up of the tables and chairs afterwards. The room had plenty of room and it was so nice that it also had a counter with a sink. It was such a stress free and pleasant experience in a beautiful setting. Thank you!

We had our daughter's birthday party in the breakfast room today and it was such a great room/location! We will definitely have more parties there. Thanks for everything!

This hotel is very clean and well maintained. They have truly great customer service and an excellent included breakfast!

Only hotel I was told I cant use 4 stalls for my truck n trailer. Otherwise good stay. Nothing better or worse then a hotel. And some white trash in the breakfast lounge.

Great, clean, friendly, warm, all the things that make a great hotel! Unlike most, the Sleep Inn lacks that off-putting smell that seems to be found in all hotels. With soft beds and lighting-fast Wi-Fi, this is the perfect place to stay — but wait, it gets better! The staff are incredible, providing fresh cookies, advice, help, and they even call your room to make sure you're settled in! Also, there's a Subway and Carl's Jr. Less than a minute's walk away.

We received great rates for suites for a small (30 people) two day weekend meeting in April, 2014. Spacious rooms. Very supportive and accomodating staff.

Well its got nice beds I have been here over a month and staff is very friendly during the day. Upgraded tv's since I have been here. No micro in rm but one is accessible always in breakfast area. O and great water pressure!
