Despite being an older building I enjoyed my stay. Polite and courteous staff very accommodating. Great location plenty of places in walking distance.

I recently stayed at the Super 8 in Burlington, IA. Normally, when I am traveling I tend to steer away from any hotel chain with a number in it’s name. Sometimes though, circumstances are what they are and you have to take lodging in one of the more discount places. I will have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. When I checked in, it was pretty busy and it just got busier as I was waiting to check in. The front desk girl was a character but managed to handle all the mayhem with a smile on her face. Even when a few rude and demanding customers cut the line, she handled everything better than I would have. The room itself was no frills but clean, and had everything we could need. Comfortable bed. Plenty of towels. I didn’t feel like I was staying in a bargain hotel and I think that says a lot. It was crazy hot outside but nice and cool in my room. There were several kids staying in the hotel, but I didn’t hear them which I am very thankful for. Bottom line, I had a pleasant stay and a good night’s sleep. What more could I ask for?

Our room was not clean. The TV didn't really work. One of ladies came in there and checked it out for us and after she left it came on for about an hour. Half of the staff was great super nice the other half acted bothered. Even when you just said hi. We only stayed the one night. We found another place to stay.

The room was very clean, comfortable, and modern. The staff were friendly and responsive to concerns from guests. The breakfast is more of a snack bar but the coffee was good. I'd stay here again or recommend it to others wanting a simple, affordable stay.

Rooms were not very clean, hotel very dated, uncomfortable beds, stinky hallways… however staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Upon our arrival, the desk clerk was not welcoming. She was speaking on her cell phone and left it on speaker mode while we checked in. When we went into our room, it appeared as though cleanliness and maintenance were not top priorities. The carpet was stained and was not properly vacuumed. The window and screen are broken. The ceiling light had an accumulation of dead insects. The shower head had a mineral buildup on it. This is not a quiet location. There is a busy parking lot beside the building with day and night traffic. In the morning, the TV in the breakfast area was playing religious programming and the attendant appeared put out when asked to have local news to be played. This was our worst experience at a Super 8.

It was fine until I got locked out of the hotel. There was no one at the desk and the front door was locked. I tried to call and no one answered the phone. When the clerk finally arrived she claimed she was cleaning rooms and had to lock the door. It was 1 am. Waiting outside in 20 degree weather is unacceptable. Perhaps she could have carried a phone with her. I thought the rooms were cleaned during the day. I'm not a happy customer.

I took my 4 year old daughter and her cousins to Burlington to go to FunCity for her birthday. We booked at Super8 because it was close. We went to the room dropped off our things and went to fun city. I noticed everything when we got back! Mouse droppings in the drawer by the television! Dried urine around the toilet, hair on the floor in the bathroom! Dirty shower curtain! Tub was dirty! Continental breakfast was horrible! They only had oatmeal, cereal and horrible waffles! There was Left over ketchup and mustard packets all I’m the refrigerator, the microwave was dirty as well! The rooms look noting like the website implied! It looks like the same old super 8 with new bed linens. We stayed in our rooms because we had so many things to move and it was late. I had to have the kids shower with the curtain open and out of the tub and had them stand towards the back of the shower because of dirt. I would not stay at this location again and would not recommend it! I’ve worked in hotels and this is ridiculous! I’ve tried to call and reach the manager to discuss this situation and nothing! I spoke to the front desk clerk before we left and told her about our experience and she apologized and told me to call and speak to the manager. I wish I could post the pictures I took!

Decent hotel at a decent price. The rooms are comfortable and are spacious. The staff is amazing and very responsive to needs. They also have a very nice continental breakfast.

Owner is a good guy. They took great care of me.

If you want a cheap hotel with terrible customer service and really uncomfortable beds this is your go too. We had to change rooms after I got there because a bed had bed bugs. Also trying to communicate with the desk clerk without her having some kind of negative attitude towards you is impossible. My advice don't stay there.

Dirty-Old and outdated is OK with me. But when the place is dirty, filthy dirty it becomes an issue with me. Underneath pull out couch tons of chip crumbs. Lipstick marks on window. And it looks like there was a pizza that fell face 1st on the carpet and wiped up with a dry rag. The repair and maintenance in this place looks like it was done by a 13 year old. The breakfast was good though.

Room was nice. Recently remodeled. But came from 6 hours away for family that had to have emergency surgery. Got in at 2am so asked for early check in… Booked room online which my reservations couldn't be found so they just checked me in. My Reservation was for Wednesday to Thursday. Was informed had to check out at 11am this morning! So $80 for 9 hours… Not happy at all! Have rented other rooms in Burlington as all my family is here. Other hotels in Burlington have always accomidated me with a small extra fee for early check in, which I tatally understand. Definitely won't be staying here again!

I'm going to start out with at least no one died and our stuff is still here. Ordered two King deluxe suites which were supposed to have a king bed and a pull out couch. First one had a king bed and nothing else. Second room had a recliner. Moved is to a double twin for four full grown men. Ended up with guys on the floor.

The room smelled like mildew and mold. The pillows looked scary! I could go on, but I won't. The front desk worker was the best thing about about my brief stay. We checked out immediately.

Lady at desk wasn't very friendly. She was more worried about doing paperwork. Our room is dirty not vacuumed and the shower has duct tape in it in several spots. When I asked the housekeeper about our room she said well you just gotta wait we only have 1 vacuum. Never will I stay here again.

I will not ever stay at this Super 8 again even if it is close to Fun City. First and foremost I'd never dealt with such a rude person that work for such an establishment until coming here. The front desk person who work nights was very rude and act as if she doesn't like her job or people. I needed a blanket and went to the desk and stood there for almost 15 minutes before she came from outside with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth and walked pass me as if I wasn't there. I politely asked for a blanket and after waiting almost another 5 minutes she brought one back. I thanked her and she grunted. Earlier that day my son and I left to go to Fun City at 11 A. M. And came back to the hotel at 5 P. M and the towels were still laying in the tub where I placed them instead of the floor. The trash hadn't been emptied, etc. I had to walk down the stairs from the third floor to take dirty towels and trash and to ask nicely for clean towels. The soap was opened and used. Floor in bathroom was filthy and carpet un vacuumed. I can go on about attitude but I'll stop here.

Bathroom counter and sink not clean, hair everywhere. Toilet clogged before we got there. Floors not vacuumed at all. On the positive the bed was comfortable.

Motel needs remodeled and updated. It's dirty and torn bedspread. Personnel is very nice. The pictures on the internet are very deceiving! Won't stay here again!

For the price, this is a great place to stay. The location is a bit older, but well kept up and the staff is awesome. The rooms are clean and very spacious. Well supplied for the Continental breakfast in the morning. If you want convenience, the location right next to a casino and a number of eateries, so that is a major plus. In the end, this place is what you would expect for a no frills hotel, but they make it feel like a whole lot more.

The room was clean and compfy. The service was very polite.

Beds were soft employees were awsome.

Unfortunately one of the worst hotel experiences ever. The staff, especially the manager had no concern what so ever about the constant rocks that were being put in the side door so anyone could get in — and let me tell you anyone was getting in. Unsafe and always on gaurd… But as far as room wise, it smelled so bad of smoke that we had to go get febreeze. Also, old shampoo bottles had been left in the shower, and underneath the beds there were pieces of food that our dogs ate (gross) and a lost sandal. Needless to say we will never stay at a super eight again.

We reserved a room with a king size bed but had to be worked into a different room because none were available. We ended up in a TINY handicap accessible room. The toilet was almost right against the wall on one side of it. It only had a double bed. There was a recliner but it was dirty and so were the floors. They don't seem to vacuum areas other than the main walking space in the room. Great continental breakfast, but that's about it.

Located just off of 34 and 61, near the casino. Affordable rooms without sacrificing cleanliness or hospitality.

Front desk girl was pretty rude when I was checking in. Bathrooms are kind if dingy walls are very thin and the neighbors where very loud.

Clean, friendly, and animal freely.

Very friendly people but the shower was dirty and the sheets were not changed you could tell someone layer in the bed before us.

Comfortable bed, lacking amenities, factory across the street running all night, equipment noise very loud.

Hotel not as advertised. To say the least. Claimed to be nonsmoking but smelled of cigarettes. It looks like they converted an old apartment into a nasty hotel. It's a $50 hotel masquerading as a $100 one.

Older hotel but clean. We had both of our 30 lb dogs and had no problem with their pet policy, there was also plenty of grass area outside to walk them. Their is a factory across the street but we found the rhythmic pounding of the press kind of relaxing. We would stay there again.
