This place is awful, the toilet leaks there was water on floor constantly, it was dirty, sheet on the bed all ripped up, and in the morning the man peeked threw the window, and then opened the door, glad I wasn't naked, my friend got the room, I would of complained majorly.

Only place we stay when visiting Jacksonville. Rooms are always clean and the owner is very pleasant. We are long time patrons of this business and hope to be for many years to come.

I was helping my fella find lodging via the 'net and found this older Motel. It looked okay on the Google reviews but last night he left in the middle of his stay due to BED BUGS! Run as far away from this place as fast as you can! Too bad because it's exactly the type of place he likes. He will be posting his thoughts soon… he's busy driving.

Good room for the price. Clean. Could use some some updating.

Google — where's the 0 stars & the VERY UNHAPPY face of disappointment? I booked a room through Priceline in January for 12-16 April (like right now) only to be told by the staff that my registration was not valid but I showed him the information Priceline sent me and it did say it was valid. His younger relative gave me a non-smoking room I had requested down to the key (yes — he made me a key he took my money and made me a key card). I had just barely open the room when the young guy told me that my room was not available to me, but he could give me a smoking room instead (yes, he was serious). This place looks like a crack/ meth house too. Why would I want to stay in a smoking room if I did not request it. I would hate to bring race into this but this old man is a grumpy Indian guy who could care less about customers, so yes I'm calling him out. It's a good thing I know other people with the same nationality that don't behave like this guy. Pictures of the place must've been from the 1960s archives. word to the wise: stay away from this place! save yourself a headache!

We were looking for an inexpensive room. The room was very nice. Clean with lots of room. The man at the front desk was nice and friendly. Its hard to find a room that will except pets without charging a lot. They charged $5 per pet. I will definitely be staying here again if we come through here again.

I was pretty surprised ant the cleanliness of the rooms. The price is good as well, I will definitely stay here if I'm ever in town again.

I have to give this place props. It's one of those old fashioned, U-shaped motels from the 60s. I've stayed in a bunch of them. Always less than 60 a night. I never expect much. Cable TV is usually a bonus. The Star Lite went well beyond that. When I opened the door and saw how clean and well laid out it was, I was already pleased. When I saw they had a coffee maker and supplied shampoo, they surpassed my expectations. Much better than a Motel 6 or Super 8. And WAY better than the usual "dieing motor lodge" I've stayed at in the past. One complaint: all three lights were on a single wall switch. I couldn't turn on a reading lamp without having the overhead on. The 5 Stars is to help weigh the rating. No we're not talking the Hilton here. But much better than you expect. Thanks to owners that care.

Visited coworkers here, was a bit run down and in need of maintenance but not the worst place I've seen yet. The owners can be a bit difficult to deal with. One of my coworkers had his wife & kid come join him in the motel for a week and they charged more for the wife. Then when they saw there was a baby, added on an extra charge. (like having a pet. )

Don't listen to the bad reviews! This place is nice. Its clean quiet and safe with a great price and free Wi-Fi that works great. The owner is nice and just because he has limited English doesn't mean that he is rude. He cares about the building enough to keep it in good condition.

Place is a joke. The rooms aren't bad but other than that the people are horrible at running a business. No organized parking, handicapped spots aren't marked, I'm staying here long term and have parked in a different spot every day due to other long term people taking up 5 spots with 3 cars. They say they allow pets, but expect you to keep them in a kennel the whole time your here because they leave hair. I pay a pet fee for a reason. And the guy at the desk doesn't have good communication skills due to not speaking English very well.

My parents stayed here while visiting for a family reunion. The front desk clerk tried to double charge them since my sister stayed in the room also. The toilet started leaking and when it was reported to the staff we were told it would be fixed the next day. The A/C unit stopped working about every half hour and the bathroom walls had cracks and stains. I would only stay here if you have to be in Jacksonville and every other hotel/motel is full. This place is only slightly better than sleeping in your car.

I stayed here for 2.5 weeks while working the end of a contract in Jacksonville. The place was super clean, the owners were always helpful and friendly, and the atmosphere was quiet. I'd recommend Starlite to anyone.
