There was a problem with the room but it was taken care of. The next day there was another situation that I didn't like the way it was handled but when I spoke with the evening clerk he gave me corporate number which I called. Corporate was very helpful and they called back to the hotel and made arrangements that are very pleasing.

Horrible experience, my girlfriend is disabled and she overheard the front desk person talking about her disability in Spanish. Our air conditioner was not working and had to be replaced. Not a cozy place definitely not a place to bring your children.

We did not have a good experience. The door to our room was stuck and wouldn't open or close properly. There was a huge gap between the door and the wall, so I'm pretty sure other guests could see in. The air conditioner was broken and making a horribly loud grinding sound so we were super hot all night long, called the front desk and they told us that was the only took available. The smoke alarm went off in the hallway at 12:45 in the morning bc other guests were smoking weed in their rooms. When we left in the morning it reeked of weed and there was no one to take our key at the front desk. The employees walked past us and didn't acknowledge that we were there. Overall one of the worst experiences we've had.

It stunk walking into the desk area and smelling marijuana in the entire first floor. We get to our room and the floor in the bathroom and on the right side of the bed had holes underneath. The title floor in the bathroom was busted. The bed sheets had burn marks in them. The television was static u couldnt see anything on it. The trim in the bedroom was busted and the shower door wouldnt stay close. We asked to change rooms after being there for 30 minuets and we got told no unable to be done. I wore a shirt over my hair so I wouldnt get anything on me the bedsheets where terrible. I will never come back I can guarantee that.

We checked in a little before 10 on a Friday night. The lobby reeked of weed. The kid working the desk was dismissive and inattentive. We discovered that the source of the weed was on the second floor where our room was. The handle to our door had to be turned up to open. It wouldn't function if you turned it down. The A. C. Unit in the room was loud enough to keep neighboring rooms awake. At about 12:45 am, the fire alarm started going off. I was about to open the door until I heard a woman in the hallway yell about how her friend's weed smoke set off the alarm and the she "loves black people because we crazy like that. " Did I mention that I almost ran over a group of 4 or 5 girls running out of the driveway with multiple purses each? Pretty sure they had just stolen them.

Rooms were modern, clean and stocked well. Enjoyed my stay. I will go back.

The room was clean the price was good for the quality of the room I stay on the first floor but then I like the scenery out the window and I love my windows to be open the curtain to be pulled back rather and in the back it was a swamp looking type of atmosphere dirt, grass, mud wasn't pretty to look at, so I had to keep my curtain closed the whole weekend, there was a hole in the shower but overall it was a nice clean room in the whole wasn't big but it was just noticeable. I would stay again but they may want to clean up the back of the hotel and fix the showers.

No internet here, does not work. NO LAUNDRY They Don't Care If I've Been Driving All Night/Will Call Police and keep money if you complain or have a meltdown, a common practice/ Review of Motel 6 Harvey Completely heartless people. I've been driving for days and I specifically asked for a quiet room, so what does the clueless high-school kid that's running the show in the front office do? He gives me the closest room to the traffic. He was completely rude over the phone and in-person. He had no customer service skills or good communication and acted like he was doing you a favor by renting out crappy noisy rooms and taking your money. I ask to be moved. So he calls his boss "Bobbie" on the phone, and they move me to the next noisiest room two doors down, a little quieter but not as much as if they moved me 5 or 8 doors down, and this time there are people above me stomping on my head. So I begged them to put me upstairs in away from the traffic, but this time it's a no, because they just can't get it right. So now I'm out $62.14 and they had me in tears having a mental breakdown in the front office because I'm so tired, but they don't care. They called the police and tried to keep my money because I complained, but I was super tired and just wanted a quiet room on the second floor away from the traffic, but it ended up with me hyperventilating in the lobby with the police calling an ambulance because I was so tired and could not sleep here. Sad.

The rooms were very clean the hotel was clean I checked in at 9pm front desk clerk was kinda of mean he was not friendly at all I tried to engage in a conversation with him he ignored me and gave me my room key an sent me on my way but other than that I enjoyed my stay housekeepers were friendly to.

The mattresses were uncomfortable, my bed was missing the blanket, the hallways had the overpowering stench of marijuana and the front desk didn't do anything about it. Also it took almost 20 minutes to get hot water to the shower in my room which was in disrepair. The handle was falling of the outside of the shower door.

Very accommodating after driving all night long I was able to check in at 730 am and check out at 11am the next day, awesome. Clean room friendly staff will stay again when I am in the area and would also recommend.

If I could give no stars I would. I came from out of town for an ice skating competition for my daughter with 2 younger children. Upon arrival the front desk clerk was not friendly. Didnt tell me where the room was ir anything about breakfast. The room was clean nothing extra no frills. I noticed the hallway smelled horrible like pot. During the night the fire alarm was set off twice from someone smoking in the room. I checked the hallway because I had 3 children with me two of them 7 and 9 weeks and the hallway reeked of pot. I called down to the desk and was told they were handling it. It was coming from the 3rd floor. All in all not happy with this experience.

Was very clean, and new furniture, flooring etc etc. Not what you would expect from your normal Motel 6. I was very pleased and comfortable with my stay.

The motel 6 we stayed at was nice. The room was newly renovated and simple. There was no breakfast offering but there was coffee.

Not worth $73 for a single. Upon checking in with my group we were told they did not have our reservations. Once that was straighten out they sold us our room but they were still cleaning it. When we went to the customer service desk and asked for another we were told by Sulma we needed to wait until room was done. We asked her why we can't get another room and it still would be the same issue, as She does not have a list of what rooms are available. She then checked in the rest of our party telling THEM the rooms might not be ready. We asked again if there was another room on another floor she said no. She was extremly rude condescending and I asked for her manager. Of course she said he is not here. I asked for the corporate number she said Google it. I said I know you know it because if you have an issue that is who you call. She then said she could give use a room in a different floor. We said that is what we asked for to began with. She said by law I didn't have to sell you a room yet. We said why didn't you say that in the first place. You took our money gave us a room that was not ready and until we asked to speak to corporate. And now you have a room. Motel 6 may have upgraded their rooms now they need to upgrade the staff and teach them customer service and how to properly inform customers of when their is a problem to avoid further issues.

Your rooms are awesome. But I couldn't get sound sleep due a constant hallways doors slamming all night. The customer service was great.

Loved our stay. Very clean. Staff is so nice. Would definitely stay again!

Hi we stayed a couple of nights ago the power went out. We were left in darkness we departed early. There was no gratuity offered.

Inexpensive room which was clean and comfortable and located close to where I needed to be in order to conduct my business.

Holes in comforter. Awful smell in the room. Cracked sink. Hole in the floor of the shower. Holes in carpet Crazy noisy at all hours. Wi-Fi was impossible to use. No breakfast. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Staff was nice… thats the ONLY good thing about it. Yuk!

I first visited a year ago, not bad. This visit, they have greatly upgraded not only the decor but renovated the rooms. Awesome! Gorgeous! Service was great. Worth every penny.

It was a pleasure to stay. The room was update and very nice. The staff was a pleasure especially Keshia at the front desk. I will return there.

We decided to come to Chicago at the last minute the 4th of July weekend. We stayed at the Harvey Illinois location. I've never stayed at Motel 6. The room was very clean and fresh. Being a Hilton person I was surprised. My check in was with Marissa who was very polite, pleasant and professional. I must say it was disappointing that in today's time that coffee nor coffee makers were available. There was no iron nor ironing board available. The hotel was under construction but that was not a problem. I was there with my husband and two son's (11 & 14). Accessing the internet was impossible. We did have someone come into our room around 12:30am. My son's were sleeping but my husband and I was up watching television and was quite surprised. I called the front desk and inquired about this and I believe the ladies name was Lucy, apologized and when I asked for new keys (knowing our keys would no longer work) she quickly said that she would bring up replacement keys. I didn't get to upset about this because I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years and I understand that mistakes happen and there was no use in making her night worse. She apologized and didn't make excuses for the mistake and quickly fixed the problem. Over all with the exception of the man who was on the desk at check out every staff member including housekeeping was very polite and professional.

I want to express my thanks to the staff for their excellent service! All my needs and request were taken care of speedily and with kindness. The front desk staff were wonderful at all times, and the ladies in the housekeeping department took care of my every need. Room was pretty gross. There was sticky fluid on the floor and chair. The beds were clean, luckily. The walls were cracked and the bathrooms were poorly constructed.

I've stayed there often and it's affordable and relatively good service. This time we were charged 20.00 more than what I normally pay. Maybe some outgrow discrimination. Who knows. Definitely seemed weird.

I wish that I could rate this place a ZERO. I stayed for two nights with my fiance and step son. What ever you do, DON'T LET THE LOBBY FOOL YOU! The lobby is clean and modern looking, but the minute you get into the hallways is totally different story. Even the non smoking floor smell like smoke. On the second night, my step son and I ended up with bed bug bites! When we reported this to the lobby we were told that we could be refunded for the nights we didn't stay but not the ones that we did. WTF! Then we were told that it could be a couple of hours before they could get a hold of the manager because he/she was out of town. AND it could be up to 5 days before we got a response. I'm not from Illinois… After telling CORPORATE this they responded with "that's our policy". So apparently no one cares about the fact that they can be sued for this. I'll be reporting this to the Health Department. Good luck keeping this place open.

This is by far the worse place I've ever been. I should have spent the extra $10 to stay at the Quality Inn next door. We booked our room for the weekend and prepaid. Our first night our toilet didn't work. We checked in, relieved ourselves and were gone for 10 hours. After enjoying ourselves we come back and prepare to sleep and the toilet still didn't work! We complained for hours all night and nothing! The guy stated there wasn't any room. He (black guy) was super lazy and probably stayed in the vacant rooms. Numerous people without a reservation came and got a room. The next morning we go to the front desk and the person at the desk offered a plunger. Where is maintenance? They don't have one, of course! I'm sorry I'm on vacation. I didn't not sign up to for janitorial duties. We left again for the day and again… the toilet doesn't work. I called the front desk and the guy (a new guy, Hispanic guy) said he will call me back in 5 minutes. He never did and I walked downstairs to request another room. First, he said there wasn't rooms, then he said he said they only had double beds. At this point I don't care and he 'cancelled a reservation to give me the same accommodations'. Luckily, after 28 hours of not having a toilet to use we finally got a room with a functioning toilet.

Good place if you are looking for something cheap, and not looking for luxury. Quick access from main avenues. In general the rooms are clean, but gives the impression of little security because there security cameras everywhere.
At the door (on the inside) had a note close with insurance, which also helps the feeling that it is an unsafe hotel.

-Bad service -dirty rooms -unprofessional customer service -over charge for what was reserved for. -Bad smell -never booking at a motel 6 again. -was given the wrong key card for room. -walked in the room and was occupied already. -if you want peace of mind and good sleep, DO NOT book here.

I wish I can rate as a zero… First I book the room and when I get there they say they dont have it… second they end up giving me a room when I walked in I found 2 people having sex inside room than they gave me a dirty room, I arrived late and thought this was okay because they moved me from the other location. I booked the room for a price when I got there I wanted to pay they over charged me because I pulled a card and not cash. I do not know why I was charged because I paid with my card. I wish I never got here I wish I didnt call motel 6 this made my whole trip bad.

The room had a badly broken floor in the bathroom. The pillows are throw pillows with cases on them and the sheets are stained. The furniture is chipped and broken in some places. Only staying this time because I already paid my money and tired of being on the road. If I could I wouldn't give any stars. Only 1 overnight & never again!

The room was clean an warm. It was nice an cozy. Their could have been a tub instead of a standing shower but hey, the water was hot. Overall it was worth the night out.

Don't let the "modern room" thing fool you. These rooms are poorly updated, there were stains all over the comforters, and hair on the bed when we pulled it back. And while it's probably a blessing, we couldn't pay via card because she claimed to not have a card reader.

There was nothing I liked about it. It began when I tried to call the hotel directly to book my room (in town for a family funeral). The staff was so rude I couldn't dare giver her my credit card information. Therefore she gave me the 1-800 number to call. We arrived to the hotel no not have no cell phone reception. My mother pull back the sheets on her bed to only find a huge stain on it. I called front desk requesting to change her sheets. The maid came and said… oh that's not a dirty it's a bleach stain. Bleach stain doesn't leave a huge black stain ring. Her blanket on the bed was full of huge burn holes. We took it off the bed. Called the front desk at 8 am to ask for more towels… never will I do that again. Front desk told me I couldn't get any until maid service comes in to do laundry at 9am. I called back at 9am for her to tell me she has arrived and now I had to wait until she wash them. Needed to be at the funeral home at 10:30. Thank goodness for Dollar Tree opened at 8am. I bought shower sponges and towels! The maid bring fresh towels at 3:00. If it wasn't a family circumstances I would had requested my money back and I will never stay there again.

Horrible beyond belief. We all know that Motel 6 isn't a high class place. However, I stayed for 3 of my 4 nights and every night I had an issue that resulted in me not getting any sleep. If it wasn't yelling and fighting in the hall at 1:00am it was a crackhead knocking at my door and running away the other 2 nights. I was refused a refund or any type of comp. I was so upset I left and didn't even bother to take my snacks and personal belongings. DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL! It's in the hood and you will regret it!

One of the worst motel I ever stayed in. This one was terrible, the receptionist was super rude (i was expecting that when I spoke to her on the phone that she would be rude in person). The room are not sound proof, I was surrounded by terrible noise coming from everywhere, unless the girls upstair and the one in the room next to me where prostitutes, I couldn't any other reason of the loud noises coming from the two rooms and the people coming and going. Do not got THERE.

Just another part of that same hotel complex that crawls day and night with armed cop killers, serial killers, criminals that commit violent crimes with AK-47s, ski masks, and even occasional homemade explosives and Molotov Cocktails. The whole area is literally a war zone! Stay the blazes away.

April 13, 2014 Harvey police killed a man here trying to rob people in the hotel.
