Came for graduation and wanted to be close. This was easy to find and one mile from the base! The room was very clean and I had what I needed. This is an older motel so don't expect the moon, the bed was comfy, the a/c worked well and the front desk person was VERY nice! I was traveling by myself and I don't need much! For the $, I would stay again! My ex stayed at another hotel and didn't get good sleep from all the noise in the hallway. This was very quiet and I had a great night's sleep!

Bad service, do not change sheets, did not clean the room, the only good thing they are near the base of navy.

The room didn't have a microwave or fridge, you can't connect to the so called free Wi-Fi. The was no ice machine. It is not worth the price.

Room was adequate. Old box tv, Wi-Fi spotty but when you have the jacuzzi its all good.

Upon check-in we were welcomed by the owners who are a pleasantly accommodating, and helpful, host and hostess at their Great Lakes Motel. We enjoyed our three-night stay in a comfortable, clean, king, room. The location is Great! Close to Navy Station, Flanagan's restaurant we liked just next door, a Speedway station next door to the south, for a. M. Newspaper, coffee, donuts, etc. And the cost was affordable for us too.

The managers are very friendly and know good service. They really do their best to be accommodating, but their maid does not speak English Very well and is sometimes rude. The room I was put in is clean and comfortable. A waitress at Flanagans across the street says she has seen them switch out their beds frequently. The only down-side to this motel, aside From the maid service, is the noise that Comes from Flanagans in the evening time which goes until the bar closes around 2:30. The noise various from night to night. The motel is close to base, and would be a convenient stay for those going to graduation at an affordable price.

I guess this is a great example of u get what u paid for. Rm 1o6 has three holes hidden under the carpet, my mom and daughter fell. The lady who did the laundry next door was very unstable, screaming at random times. The location was good, it took only 5 min to get to the graduation. Shuttle was a plus, gets u there early to get good seats.

Please DO NOT let the website fool you. This is FALSE advertisements at its best. I searched the internet and found this hotel to stay for my brother graduation. I was given a run down room as if like “The Roach Motel”. I thought that paying a little more to stay at the "closest hotel from base" – boy I was wrong. Do yourself a favor and stick with the national hotel chain. By the way, Red Roof Inn is about 100 feet away and had a much better shuttle service and it is less to stay (I think). I have asked the Red Roof Inn shutter person to give me a ride back to the Great Lake Motel to get my car and vowed never to return to this motel. I am not trying to advertise for the Red Roof Inn, but what their employee did for me; I have to at least mention it on this review. I only have written three reviews in my life (two excellent rating and this bad one).

Great Lakes Motel is conveniently located near the Naval Base. I spent one night here and it was extremely comfortable. The owners are warm and friendly and they really know good service! I would definitely stay at Great Lakes on my next visit.

Not cheap like roach traps under the bed and paint peeling off the walls, but very well priced for around the area. Not much for food in the surrounding area, but still a great deal.
