I myself work part time at the Clarion in another city. I have been with the company for 2 years. I have booked MANY rooms for friends/family since my employment with the company. I have NEVER been inconvenienced so severely as I have today. My friend is running the Mini Marathon tomorrow in Indy, I booked her a room at this hotel last week, received our confirmation email, #, check in time, etc. My friend packed herself and her sister up and drove to check into her room. When she arrives she is told that her room had been canceled. She was in shock, she still had the confirmation email in her inbox, as did I. The manager, Mike Jones, took it upon himself to call my employer, ask if my friend worked there, when he received the information that she did not (since it is ME who works at the Clarion) he then didn't call her to say the room is being canceled, he just canceled it! So she drove ALL the way to Indy thinking she had a room, and didn't. WOW! Talk about HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS! What makes this even more ridiculous is that I had to call MY employer and speak to MY hotel manager. When the situation was explained to her she was equally appalled, and confused as well. She explained that she has NEVER had that problem, even if she was sent and incorrect link (employee vs friends/family discounted link) she still has NEVER seen a hotel DENY the guest a room! I am completely ashamed to say I work for such a company that would cancel a guest room without checking with ALL parties involved in the booking of the room. My info was also included in the reservation, mr. MIKE JONES, instead of being a COWARD you could have easily checked MY name with MY employer that you took the time to call, AND CALLED ME instead of what you did. Poor poor management skills if I do say so my self.
