Rooms were small. Patio has nothing on it furniture wise to actually use the slab of concrete. Employees were dismissive. Hot tub was extremely hot. Unbearable. Breakfast isn't till 7 am which is ridiculous and extremely poor quality food. For the price of the room should be high end service. Long walks from room to wherever you need to go. No bar inside or kitchen.

Here for a baseball tournament — encouraged to all stay together, but this place is a dump! And now, with all of this rain — we'll be stuck in this dump rather than at the baseball fields. *Mold in the bathroom. *Peeling paint and caulking *Very outdated bathroom. *No towels at the pool. *Hallways smell like cigarette smoke and the room smells musty. *On a positive note — I checked the mattresses — no bed bugs. * Would have left upon entering the room, but there is literally NOTHING available in a 25 mile radius. *No elevator. *Poor safety awareness / security — sliding glass door open to the outside. *Staff — initially, not rude, but definitely not welcoming. * Nice that there is a mini fridge in the room — but at the expense of being very loud. * FINALLY found another room at another hotel and Baymont by Wyndham in Michigan City is REFUSING to refund our stay after only having been here for 2 hours!

Not a bad experience. Reasonably priced, good free breakfast selection, pool and hot tub, and clean rooms. Only gripe is the TV experience was horrible. But that's mainly a Comcast cable issue not the hotel. Would definitely stay again.

The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The pool/hot tub were fun with outdoor patio attached. Right next door to Buffalo wild wings and lots of other restaurants. The room had a patio, smart TV, microwave, mini fridge. Free breakfast was what I was expecting — not the best I've had but also not the worst.

Quick check in, room was clean, bed was comfortable. The breakfast was ok, but great for the price of the room. Hot tub and pool were in good condition. This was a busy hotel when we were there. Lots of families and kids.

This hotel is better than I expected. It has plenty of shops near it and Buffalo Wild Wings is just right next to the hotel. Check in is pretty easy and we get a king size bed room. It seems like it is newly refurbished. Rooms look pretty ok. Bed is comfy. The towels in the toilet and hair dryer has hair stucked on it. Toilet bowl seems pretty old and worn and bath tub is also aged. Other than that it is pretty nice place for a good night rest.

They need to shut this place down and do complete renovations. Place was not well kept. Structurally and in general. Not that clean. It’s more like a $50 a night hotel. And if it was only $50 a night, that’d be almost worth it. Overall, I give this place a 4/5 out of 10.

This place needs to make sure they are cleaning the rooms. We came in and the beds were made but there were no toiletries. There was a dead bug on the dresser and a big crawling on the walls. When we woke up the next morning we found someone panties on the side of the bed and when we went to make coffee a dead bug fell out of the coffee machine. The price is reasonable but no expect much else here.

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. A lot of water damage everywhere. Ice machines didn't work. Lobby smelled like and old wet basement. The whole thing needs redone! Our door didnt work right, later we were told to pull up on handle. The water pressure is terrible. The sink faucet work the opposite way it should for cold and hot. Tiny pillows, sticky stuff on carpet that should have been cleaned up before we got there! Balcony door lock was broke as well. Not worth the money at all! Disappointed to say the least. Had it not been Memorial day weekend, we would have looked for a different hotel!

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I spent $100 for one night and when I got to my room I was shocked. My room was FILTHY. There were stains on the carpet and the furniture. The slider door barely opened to go out onto the deck. The room had a very bad smell to it as well. At 9 am, room service pounded on my door and woke me up. Not only did they pound on my door but they opened it and when I yelled they shut the door. Worst experience of my life at a hotel. It honestly grossed me out even being here. I called management and they were nice and everything but that don’t cut it. I thought I was getting a reimbursement except for the tax. The next day I get on to my online banking they refunded me $20. What good does that do for such a terrible experience?! They should have refunded it all.

Huge TVs in the rooms with xfinity cable. Constant construction going on. It sounded like a truck was pulling forward and backing up for 12 hours straight. Beep beep beep beep. Got an excellent rate the first time I stayed and the room was perfect. The next time I stayed I asked for the same rate and instead it was like $30 more. The owner (the same Indian family owns all the hotels in the area) came down on the price a little, but then put me in a room that was mainly for weekly stays and not nearly as well kept. Pool was filthy and appeared some of the general public just takes their kids there to swim. Don't even get me started on the hot tub. My monthly business trip to Michigan City is now booked elsewhere.

For the price, it was the least you could expect. Lots of stains and wear, weird bathroom remodling made it look like an efficiency desperation makeover. Paper thin walls, on an off night pressed next to loud familys. Non-walkable. The only grace was the employees were friendly and helpful.

I couldn't believe how dirty this place is ask for another room and still this room worse than the first one didn't stay left that place got my money back!

Hotel rooms are dirty (see pictures) when this was mentioned to the front desk all we got was surprised look and "I'm sorry" nothing else… No offer of a new room or to even have someone come and clean. Our pet was an additional $20 per night. Pool was gross… Breakfast ended at 10:00am and we were there at 9:30 and most of the food was gone. Asked the front desk attendant about getting more hot food and was told " we will take care of you" then she went outside for a smoke and we never saw any food. We have stayed here in the past but it has gone way down hill. Will not be going back. FYI, my stay was just above $100 for one night with a pet.

Under construction. The lobby looks nice. The room appears unfinished and unclean. Undesirable clientele. You get what you pay for here.

When I stayed the hotel was under renovation, but it was a very comfortable hotel. The beds were very comfortable, the pillows were overly soft and had no body. The room was small but it had room to do yoga. The TV was excellent, the large club chair was comfortable. The bathroom was older and peeling, the toilet seat was scratched up and needed replacement. The shower was powerful and fabulous. The tub could not be used because they removed the stopper. The toilet paper was reasonably good and soft, fortunately not like sandpaper. The location was excellent close to everything on Franklin Street. The staff was friendly and cordial. The gym needs updating but it was usable and I enjoyed it. The room set up is a bit inconvenient to move things in and out. The breakfast was typical warm breakfast that wasn't that great. I would stay here again and I do recommend it for the reasonable price.

Good pricing. Hot tub is hot. Close to casino. Pool is a little gross!

Staff was friendly and our bed was very comfortable but there was a softball size whole in one of our walls. Complimentary breakfast was good, what you would expect.

Not really what I expected for a baymont hotel. I guess it was another hotel before so it's still a lot of work to do. Rooms are very very small. Location I can't complain about, everything u would like to eat is within walking distance.

Staff was great. Daily Breakfast early mornings. Prices were fare. Cable and Internet included. Pool and Hot Tub on site.

It's very dirty and gross. Found 2 dead bugs in my room, multiple stains on ceiling, stained mattress, no outlets by bed to plug in phone. Dirty walls, dirty mirrors. Just overall gross. Will not stay here again. Thought for over $100 we would get a decent clean room.

The key cards didn't work at check in and when we left room for breakfast. Peeling wallpaper. Stains on carpet. No convenient plugins for phone. Nite stands looked like they hadn't been cleaned behind in a year. There was a dirty towel hanging on the back of the door. It was cheap to stay there and you get free breakfast. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Room was quiet.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Electrical outlets are lacking. Only one available for refrigerator, microwave, & coffee maker. None were plugged in.

Booked through expedia, so check in was fast. Got to our room to find that it smelled heavily of womens perfume, and a soiled bed. Spoke with the front desk, and was given a different room. The only real complaint that we had, was that the water pressure in the shower was very low, and that the toilet constantly ran. Other than that, the building is dated, but for the price, I cant complain.

Older place. Really nice with indoor pool and hot tub. It has a private outdoor patio off the pool area. Gigantic lobby and eating area.

Dont come here. I'm PREGNANT, and my room had black mold EVERYWHERE, and the wallpaper was falling off. By the time the wallpaper fell, and we saw there was black mold, It was too late to go find another hotel. The person gave us a new, upgraded room. As she should've. Because black mold. She said she was gonna try to get us money back, compensation, and a free night. Or at least one of those. We went down this morning to work it out, and the lady is refusing to work with us because we stayed here and paid through a third party.

If purchasing a room online, don't be fooled by the photos. This place is a dump. Old and in need of renovation. Brown film floating in whirlpool in swimming area. The only thing worth mentioning is the beds are comfortable despite the tiny room they cram them in.

Really nice hotel with a good size pool and hot tub, although the hot tub doesn't have any jets it's still really nice. The room fit our needs and also had a small balcony, with the right chairs and small table it would be really nice but they only have the old chairs from their last remodel.

Bed sheets had stuff on them like stains and old gum. The shower curtain has seen better days. The sliding door barely works. They claim this room is a suite. I've seen standard rooms look better than this.

Awesome service, clean and well maintained. Manager is superior.

We stayed at baymont on Franklin street in michigan city IN. Chose it because the pictires on line looked very nice. We got there early and they told us we could check in early but it was an extra $20 charge. They were doing renovatios as well. They had no elevatores luckily they had penty of rooms on the first floor. The light on the wall in the room wasn't working so they moved us to another room in which the keys didn't work. Got the hotel room for the swimming pool and hot tub. The pool area was freezing the pool was freezing the pool heater was broken and then when our grandaughter took her shower she also took a bath because the drain was clogged. The maintenance guy came to look at it. He never said one word and left. Thinking it was fixed went and ran water to find out it wasn't fixed. Called front desk again and they said he needed a snake and didn't have one and that they could move us to another room mind you this was around 8 or so and bed time for our grandaughter and everything was unpacked. My husband asked at tbe front desk the next morning to see what they could do to help make it right and they offered $20 off and move us to a different room. Another guest was having breakfast in the lobby and overheard us and they said they were going to another hotel. They also came for the pool and was having other issues. Needless to say they left and so did we. My husband asked if we could get the $20 back for the early check in and they wouldn't do it.

This property is absolutely breathtaking. The hotel is well maintained. I was on a business trip and there Wi-Fi was fast so that was awesome for me. The breakfast was also delicious. Overall if I am back in the Michigan City, I would definitely come back to this hotel.

Staff and service are really good. Furniture and decor all updated. Building is little run down. Needs some TLC. Work out room is old garage sale equipment. Not really a fitness room. Breakfast is fantastic. Overall good not great.

Some rooms didn't get a fridge and microwave because they'd been stolen. … so hit or miss if you got one. Rooms are tiny. Tv gets like 10 channels. Hallways are not air-conditioned, and the stairs are dirty, food left all over. Carpets really dirty. Breakfast was pretty underwhelming. They keep pool towels at front desk. … not convenient. Staff was pleasant.

Bloody sheets and pillows mold in the bathroom the ceiling was falling apart in our room and pool area was disgusting hair all over the floor and bugs and the service is horrible the manager would not even properly take care of it she put us out to go to another hotel down the street that didnt even have us a room they need to be shut down by the board of health stay away from this hotel unless you want to catch something.

Quite possibly the worst hotel experience. There was a dead mouse behind the broken refrigerator. I opened the fridge when I came into the room to put food in and the smell that came out of it almost made my wife and I throw up. Check in was at 3 and when we arrived at 6 30 our room wasnt ready. The bed was lumpy and pitched. Avoid this place like the plague.

Room was not very clean. Outdated. And other people staying there were treating my wife with disrespect whistling and asking her to party with them.

I booked this through Hotwire and ended up not needing the room but I was stuck with it. So I did go in and look at the room and laid on the bed it seemed quite comfortable but the building is definitely showing its age. The bathtub had been poorly refinished. There was some built-up dirt in the corners of the bathroom floor. I didn't get a chance to go in the pool or hot tub but it did look fabulous. When I got to my room it had not been cleaned and I had to walk all the way through the entire building to the front desk to get a different room. I guess they had a dryer break that day and the bedding was not done.

The staff was excellent and super professional. Had a problem with my key a couple of times and the staff fixed it right away. The rooms were clean and you are walking distance from restaurants and a grocery store. Overall my stay at the baymont was great.

Food is nasty and dry water down oj and milk was hot beds are nice and soft pool room nasty and dirty hot tub was nice and hot but pool was dirty and had things floating in it it was warm but nasty.

Stayed for one night thank goodness. We had three rooms, I requested a king size bed. The bed was the room, they tried to squeeze a king bed, microwave, lounge chair, portable closet, two side tables and a dresser etc in a very small room. The hot tub was not so clean, the pool cloudy. I could go on and on, maint. Was very poor. The ladies at check out were very nice, they really need someone there to clean windows inside and out. Never again.

There was a previous customers dirty sock in my room. I saw a house centipede about two inches long crawling on the wall. Didnt knotice till late at night that the sliding door to outside wasnt locked.

A real gem of a hotel. Brand new lobby, hallways, carpeting in rooms. Spacious room, great location, quiet, plenty of good eats around. Indoor pool and whirlpool with a small exercise room. Light breakfast, including some hot items. Well worth it!

The room was nice & clean. The staff was nice & attentive. The continental breakfast was good & filling.

I do have to start by saying the woman working the front desk was welcoming and very helpful! But the hotel itself is another story… our bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Hair in the tub and what looked to be mold on the tissue dispenser! The pool had a faint yellow hue and the hot tub had a layer of dirt floating on top as well as a ring of filth around the tub! Ventured to the vending machines and received a snack that expired in 2011 which is 5yrs ago! The gentleman at the desk gladly gave me my money back… to scared to eat breakfast and shower so we left dirty and hungry! Sad to say we will not be returning to this hotel!

The guest check in lady on evening of Dec 8 had a bad day then brought her bad day to work with her. Lights in parking lot were out. We were told the hot tub was operating, it was… with air, no water. Stay elsewhere, one can get as good a rate elsewhere or pay a little more for a better quality experience.

Terrible hotel. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! They took our reservation for 4 rooms at our company discounted rate. Then waited till we got there to say they wouldn't let us stay. I'm now stuck with 4 guys and can't find rooms.

The staff was nice… and although it was not their fault… The air conditioners are not working correctly anywhere… the hallways are like a sauna! All outside doors say they keep them locked during certain times for our "security" and they were all broken! Which meant the hotel was open to ANYONE anytime! The remote for our TV did not work, the balcony door did not lock and there was NO TV or Fridge in our room. Needless to say, We will NOT be staying again and will tell our friends the same.

Booked room the day before. They didn't have the room ready and the staff didn't really seem to concerned about it.

If you are a non smoking hotel, then be a non smoking hotel. Dont allow smoking outside on patios and balconies.

I have stayed here for several weeks and have nothing but a great experience each and every time, the staff is very helpful on every occasion. I would and will suggest Baymont to anyone wanting to stay in Michigan City either for 1 night or any extended stay. Thanks to Karen and her staff and for the Milky Way candy bar when the machine was out.

Friendly staff, room was ok. Pool was not done being renovated and we didn't know this until after we had reserved our room. Bathtub could've used a little more cleaning, but overall was satisfactory. Decor was old, ceiling tiles were hanging down in hallway, old musty scent throughout all hallways, furniture upholstery was stained and dirty etc and looked aged and decrypted. Value of money charged was in line with overall state that the hotel was in. Disrepair. In other words, you get what you pay for. Cheap rates, not so good room. Breakfast was a joke, no danishes, nothing out except apples and bananas, and didn't appear to have any coffee ready as well. We skipped the so called breakfast and went to IHOP down the street. I love the fact it was a pet friendly place, but too many glaring deficiencies has caused me to not want to stay at this motel again.

Clean nice rooms. The staff was amazing set us up a room right next to the hot tub. Couldn't believe how affordable it was for all the amenities they gave you. They even brought us a sewing kit at midnight. Bathrooms: of granite countertops and even the toilet paper was really high quality. I will try to stay here every year from now on. Thank you for restful night.
