Never use booking. Com or choice hotels. Jeff and I along with another family of friends who we traveled to DC with this weekend had made travel arrangements at a Choice hotel (Quality Inn) in Takoma Park, Maryland nearly two months ago through booking. Com. Our friends arrived before we did but were not able to go into their room because the hotel claimed that the reservation was in our name, even though that was not true plus they were being told they had to go into a smoking room when 2 non-smoking rooms were guaranteed. I called booking. Com from the car to explain problem. The call be became a 2 and 1/2 hour ordeal. We explained that we were to have two non-smoking rooms. They said that this could not happen. Booking. Com said they had the authorization and they would email it to the hotel. The hotel said that they could not accept emails and that they would have to get a fax. Booking. Com said they could not fax anything. This went back and forth for 2 hours. There was no resolution made. Neither would allow the reservation to be cancelled. There were two other young men in the same predicament in the waiting area. Jeff decided to call a number for Choice Hotel to get additional help. Well he ended up calling what must have been a fraudulent number. He was told to go and purchase a gift card which he disagreed with but this seemed to be our only way of getting two rooms for the night.

The free breakfast was ok. The room was spacious and neat. The staffs were very nice and respectful.

The room was clean and the front desk was very helpful… the area was also nice.

Within 5 minutes of getting in my room I killed 4 cockroaches. Meanwhile while I was watchin TV I felt something crawling on me sure enough it was a bed bug. Do not recommend to anyone the only reason I stayed is because my company had already paid for the room but will insure them to never stay here again!

Simply put, the room was very dirty. The sheets had stains on it. There was an assortment of random hairs on the sheets and towels. The floor left a black residue on my socks. There was a mysterious stain on the bedside table. The bathroom was not only tiny but also had several mystery stains. Some lights didn't even work. I was tempted to ask for another room but feared the other room would be worse. The neighborhood around the hotel is fine. There's plenty of places to get food. Everything is within walking distance. The hotel food was serviceable. It did the job. Nothing fancy. Overall, the hotel wasn't the greatest I been in, certainly not the worst. I do think I would stay in the Quality Inn again given other options available.

This is a budget hotel and for our family, it was fine. We don’t shy away from “rough around the edges” sort of places. We wanted a place to rest our heads at night after long days of exploring DC, and this hotel provided that. The bathrooms are small, but again, it worked. The area of town wasn’t stellar, but we didn’t have any issues whatsoever. The staff were all extremely kind and it was quiet at night. The morning of our departure, there was a sketchy man hanging out at and near the hotel (he possibly had a mental health issue) and the staff were quick to call law enforcement. They apologized for any offensive behavior we may have encountered because of this person. He was quickly dealt with and it didn’t have any effect on our vacation or family. Thank you for providing a respectful environment for our family at night.

Was a lovely stay, the continental breakfast was awesome. Make your own waffles, eggs, sausage, muffins, coffee, juice, cereal… A+ Need was real comfortable, loved the mattress. Room kept clean daily, service was warm and friendly. TV and internet not stable using dish technology.

The place was clean, but it still had a rundown feel about it. The staff was nice enough. Overall we were not too happy. Other places would have been nicer for the same price. The bathroom was Tiny. The door between our adjacent rooms was blocked by furniture. The refrigerator needed to be turned up, but what look like the maximum setting actually turned it off and ruined our food. There is no elevator. The ice machine was very far away. The breakfast was okay.

Owners have put in a lot of money to renovate the rooms. But this is for nothing if they drop the ball on customer service. All staff should greet each guest with a smile. Having an infomercial on during breakfast tells the guests you don't care. It's the little things that make or break a hotel.

I booked this hotel seeing on the website that they allow military members under the age of 21 stay. Upon check in I was denied the room I booked with minimal explanation. When I tried to explain myself I was met with little to no care. This was also on Memorial Day weekend.

I'm Use To Stay In hotels including quality inns and this is by faaaarr the worse hotel I have ever stay,, shm,, lobby people don't know the meaning of people skills.

It's ok, like an upgraded motel 6, without hookers hanging around or loitering, breakfast was better than I expected, not great variety but had good selection. Tea/coffee pot in room, TV was very decent. To sum everything up the place was a bit more enjoyable than expected, too bad I was with the wrong girl. Free parking included.

The room was great. Hardwood floors, comfy bed and pillows and it was right beside IHOP. It was close to where we needed to go. My only complaint is that the bathroom is small but manageable.

This is nice place for stay on a quick getaway,. The hotel is in very nice location. Affordable and offers free breakfast with fruit (orange). The staff were ok except for the first lady that checked us in. She was very nonchalant in her approach, no eye contact not even a smile. Just ordered us to sign the receipt and gave the keys sadly as if we were some unwelcome guest. Didn't like the experience at the check in at all. The room is nice, though smelled a little dusty when I first got inside my assigned room. It was a non smoking room. The bed was comfortable but the furniture is old. Only one chair for the desk which was supposed to be a table for two. One of the cleaning ladies walked in my friend and I only because we left the door cracked to get some air since the heat was too much. She did apologised though. I just think receptionist should be a little welcoming especially at a place where people wants to lodge. Overall fair experience for the price.

Listen. We all know why you've chosen or are considering choosing this hotel for your trip. For what you pay for you are getting more than you bargained for in the area that you are staying. The rooms are clean, as well as the linens. The bathrooms are tight, but I don't know about you, but I don't like spending all my time in the bathroom at a cheap hotel. I became distraught after booking when I finally got to reading the reviews so I'll address some of the concerns I remember reading and tell you my experience. Staff (and their rudeness) : In my opinion, there was typical staff of a motel there. I was greeted just fine, and when I asked if it were possible to check in 10 minutes early, I was understanding when I was told no by the staff because I can't cause a stink over the rules they have. I was able to check in minutes after 3. While I was waiting in the lobby until I could, the staff talked amoungst themselves about work issues, which I don't care about because I don't expect them to silently wait until I leave and they're still performing their jobs. I was given papers to sign for my room without the price listed, but I had my email with the confirmed price and knew that if there was an issue, I could directly contact my credit card company if the hotel did not fix the issue. Check in and out times were clearly explained as well as breakfast times. Literally 0 issues.

I was very pleased with my stay and staff were very helpful especially Fikre Liusu. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Some workers aren't so nice but the rooms are clean, breakfast is good.

I’m a pretty easy going person when it comes to where I stay but my experience in my interaction with check-in staff was very poor. I entered into the lobby and the woman at the desk I had to interact through bullet proof glass. Horrible first impression for the hotel but thought I would give it a chance. The clerk found my reservation and then printed a standard hotel sheet for the rate, no pets and no smoking allowed to sign twice. Anyways I questioned before signing since the rate was blank. The woman told me Expedia determines that rate so I asked why am I signing for a rate then if the line is blank? She was very rude yelling at me saying it’s for the room. I guess I felt like I was signing a blank check especially when she took my driver’s license and photo copied it. Overall the check-in experience was very unpleasant since I still don’t know what I signed. She handed me my room keys through the slot and I had to ask where is my room was located. Overall the rooms are somewhat dated but seem average in being clean and have standard amenities. I think my experience with the clerk really frustrated me because she was so rude hence leaving a poor review.

I so enjoy my stay when ever I come down to visit my friend. The bed is comfortable, it quiet close to things you need. Will be back again.

Clean and well located. Hot breakfast and free parking. Bathroom cannot be smaller for a tub and toilet but it is clean.

Very rude front desk staff. The room it's self was dirty when we checked in. Dispite being the cheapest hotel in the area at the moment, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The bed and other furniture is not bad but the bathroom is awful. The door won't close. The door knob is broken. Plus the room is so small, it is hard to close the door once inside.

Decent room. Small bathroom. Everything but the safe worked. Card stopped working, took a while to get it fixed — had to wait for employee to stop chatting. Nice breakfast though.

Nice and clean rooms including a fridge and an safelock. It will take you about 45 mins to the City. The Bus Stop is in Front of the hotel (1min walk)

Bargain stay. Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms looked recently painted and the beds comfortable. The bathroom literally could not have been smaller, but good shower head, hot water and clean shower curtain. Cleaning oder was strong in the room, and the carpet looked worn and dirty. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, white bread toast, small cocolate chip muffins, Cheerios and a puffed cereal, orange juice or coffee, apples.

DEPLORABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! "Betty" at the front desk was very ghetto and nasty when I asked her for help with a reservation. Didn't even bother looking up my information and confused me with a different guest and proceeded to give me their personal info. Very unprofessional!

This wasn't that bad of a stay, since we spent most of our time in DC lol. Our first night since we got in late we stopped at IHOP you get 15% discount for staying here so that's a plus just show the key card. The bathroom thought just horrible, it's very small it felt like you had no space at all.

We evacuated from Big Pine Key in The Florida Keys to avoid being a casualty from hurricane Irma (mandatory evacuation) to Takoma Park, an area we live in many years ago, and decided on your hotel. THAT DECISION COULDN'T HAVE BEEN BETTER! YOUR HOTEL IS AWESOME! It is clean, beautiful and staffed with professional, kind and helpful people. My wife and I were particularly impressed with your front desk employee Christine who went above and beyond her call of duty to assist us in acclimatizing to the area, find places and services in the area we needed etc. She was VERY kind, very helpful and compassionate! We are currently put up by FEMA in another choice hotel that is a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT AND TERRIBLE LET DOWN compared to your Takoma Park Quality Inn. We actually miss that place but our funds were depleted by hurricane Irma and must rely on FEMA. Unfortunately your Takoma Park Quality Inn is not on FEMA's list so we are stuck in this place… YUCK! Again, your Takoma Park Quality Inn IS truly QUALITY and adheres to your commercial: "BY THE BOOK BY THE BOOM"! It's one of the best places I have stayed in for years! Eduard and Suzie Drielsma.

My only concern was the neighborhood it was located in and the types of characters staying at the econolodge in the same parking lot. Wonderful staff and would stay again. Watch out for the traffic lights.

Stay with the friend's but this motel is not good every people talking attitude and then the carpet is very nasty and then the inside in the bathroom water is not going in and I ask the housekeeper we need to towels so she don't understand and she said I don't know you going to the office They charge like you know comfort inn and holiday express. I never come back again… very bad area…

Bathrooms are super tiny. Under construction and heard someone pressure washing at early hours. Morning buffet is nice. Staff was plesent.

Place is over priced, the front desk people were very unorganized, they were telling me that my business did not send over a credit card authorization form when I was the one who sent it. They had a big stack of paperwork they were ruffling through. None of it was organizated. It took them 30 minutes to find it after they told me 5 times they couldn't find it. This was at midnight when I got in. Rooms are outdated. If I'm going to pay more then $100 a night, the building should at least be up to date.

This placed absolutely sucked. Super sketchy. Ghetto as hell. Our work van got broken into and we got our tools stolen. Stay away from this place! Even the cop said he wouldn't stay here if you paid him. Room was gross. Toilet seat broken. Bathroom very small. Just a bad experience altogether.

There were bugs in the bathroom, all over the ceiling. There were mysterious brown stains on the pillowcases. The outlets would not hold any plugs (you plugged it in and it just popped back out immediately). Popcorn ceilings are peeling and flaking off. Cigarette butt marks burnt into the curtains. It does not feel safe in this area. I do not recommend staying even one night in this hotel. From reading other reviews, I hear that management is extremely poor as well.

Basic accommodations. Rooms are not sound-proofed. Cheap rates reflected in quality.

This place was trash. They had fat back televisions with terrible quality, irons that still left your clothes crushed. Don't get me started on how the rooms smelled like weed everyday we cam back, we were there for three days and the room was cleaned by the maid once. Take heed to what your reading.

I loved my experience here. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean,, I had a smoking room so it smelled a little like cigarettes but you'd expect that in a smoking room. Breakfast was great! Overall good in my opinion.

From Jersey, stop to sleep in I was very tired! Comfortable beds, room very clean. Delicious breakfast. Definitely will come back.

We stayed for one night and were very satisfied with our experience. Clean, excellent internet, wonderful staff, lots of parking and a great location. Would recommend this property to anyone traveling in the area.
