In town for a funeral, we were extremely pleased with our stay and the rooms are amazingly beautiful. Will definitely recommend your hotel and if ever back in the area, will stay here again!

I was apart of a wedding party that reserved a room to get ready in and for the newly wed couple to stay in the night of. The staff was outstanding and worked with us to make sure we had everything we needed (and weren't late for the wedding)! They accommodated our early check in so we had enough time to get ready. We had 9 girls and one bathroom which was not going to work out! The front desk and amazing housekeepers were nice enough to let us divide and conquer using an available room to shower in quickly. I would highly recommend this hotel for any type of stay. Not only was the staff great but the hotel was clean and bright!

Very nice. The room was clean and very comfortable. Housekeeping did an excellent job and were very friendly. Breakfast was quite tasty.

2nd time staying at the Holiday Inn here, rooms are really nice and accessories include a pool and workout room unfortunately wasn't able to utilize these due to my late arrival and early departure to the Chesapeake Bay fishing!

What I did not like was that when booking this I thought it was through Holiday Inn. It turns out it was a third party. So when I asked for a smoking room of course it I thought that is what I got. Turns out the whole place is nonsmoking, you would have thought they would know this. Plus talking to the guy at the front desk, he told me it would have been cheaper if I had call the hotel directly.

Someone banged on our door at 5:30 in the morning. Service from the hotel was good.

I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars on this hotel, so I'll give my personal pros and cons. Pros — Easy to get to — right off routes 301/4. Has 2 state parks, multiple grocery stores, and a few dozen restaurants within a few miles. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is acceptable (not amazing, but decent. ) Cons — The beds were not very comfortable. My husband and I had two separate beds, and each of us were disappointed with the quality of the mattresses. There were random people hanging out around the entrance for HOURS, with seemingly nothing else to do. We checked in, freshened up, went to dinner, and explored the area, and they were still loitering more than 3 hours later. They were not disrespectful, but it just seemed shady and generally, it was off putting.

Nice place. Free breakfast wasn’t worth eating looked horrible and beds were horrible.

Clean spacious rooms, friendly staff. Jesse was helpful at check in and throughout our stay. With suggestions for places to visit, things to do, and places to eat. Will be staying here when I'm in the area.

We stayed here for our anniversary and don't get out much with a 14 month old. Crystal and Jesse were incredibly helpful, sweet and upgraded us to make our night even more special. The hotel was great and the staff is even better.

Good breakfast bar and rooms are clean and warm. Very responsive staff. It is right next to firehouse so ask for north side if you're a light sleeper. Price is Right.

Clean and quiet. Breakfast wasn't exceptional and the cleaning staff left the TV in my room on for some odd reason. But overall a decent stay.

We stayed here 10/9/17 while on a bicycle trip and the room was a good size with comfortable beds. The Wi-Fi was good and so was the breakfast in the morning. Everything seemed to be clean and neat.

Awful. I will never stay here again. Noisy at midnight. Staff did nothing to quiet down those that were partying until the wee hours of the morning. The pool is small and dirty looking. Men were behind the pool cutting hair, like having their own barbershop. Not sure if they were employees or guest, but it was weird. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights, but we only stayed for one. Once we came in from dinner and heard the party at the pool area again, it was time to go. I will never ever stay here again.

Always helpful and friendly staff. Very nice, clean spacious room. Easy access in and out of the hotel, food and shopping nearby. Always stay here for work and I'm never disappointed.

We stayed in a king suite with a king size bed and pullout sofa bed. The room was large with a microwave and small refrigerator. However, there was only 4 pillows per room. The air conditioning was a blessing and did it's job well considering the high temperature and humidity outside. Morning breakfast was the usual hotel fare. However, they did run out of sausage links, omelets, and eggs by 9am.

From desk was very attentive roombas clean. We had some issues with the services were solved promptly parking is very convenient.

Totally updated recently, with new bathroom, furniture, carpet, curtains, bedding, and towels. Room was quite spacious with a refrigerator and Keurig coffee maker. Hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. We stayed 2 nights (March 17 & 18, 2017) and will definitely stay here again. Price was very reasonable. I have no idea where all the negative reviews came from, but I am glad I didn't see them before I booked this hotel because it would have changed my mind about staying here. I normally don't leave reviews but felt I should so that people know that the rooms are totally renovated, well, at least on the 3rd floor!

I have always stayed at this Holiday Inn Express when I come In town since it was built. I was there for my Father's Funeral and I was totally shocked how filthy the rooms were. We took a shower when we got there called for some clean towels for the next morning and they said Sorry that they had "No Clean towels Available. I was like are you Serious. They said yes that we are totally booked and they didn't have any available. I proceed to tell them I have my Father's Funeral tomorrow and I needed clean towels. They brought me two wash clothes and one towel for 3 Adults and two children. The wash clothes had blood stains on them and I was totally disgusted by the filth. The carpet in the room was filthy, bathrooms had mold around the tubs, all around disgusted. Not sure what happened to the management there but seriously they need to rehab the hotel. If these reviewed are read please take pride in your hotel again.

I've stayed here while work is being done on my home. Again I can not say enough good things about this place. It's clean. It has a good breakfast. The staff is beyond nice and extremely accommodating. If you have to stay in Calvert a few nights this is the place to go.

This place must have went way down hill since I stayed here.

I tried to book a room for my family. I have small kids (5). They said I have to book two rooms. First off… that is a little weird, because I don't want to split up my family at a hotel. Yet I thought… if the rooms connected, that is not so bad. But the hotel will NOT guarantee it unless I book and then show up and they leave a note at the desk that I am preferring two rooms that connect. So I will not know if my kids can be in a connecting room until the day I show up. I think it would be illegal to leave my kids unattended. The alternative is to have my wife and/or me be split up during our stay as well. Great vacation eh! We will keep looking. I guess the disappointing part is that they will not work with you. That was just their policy.

This stay was amazing the staff was so helpful and accommodating the breakfast was awesome the room was excellent this was just an overall excellent stay I have ever encounter. Me and my family will definitely be back and I will also let friends and family know this is the place to stay my home away from home thank you everyone.

Very clean hotel, great breakfast and very nice weekend breakfast host. The bed was comfy and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Definitely will be back.

The rooms and elevators smell discusting. I take the stairs the elevator is so gross smelling I gag when I get in. You hear thuds and crashing sounds at all hours. Walls are very thin. If you are taking a shower or watching TV at a low volume everyone in the hall will hear everything. The breakfast is gross and the people who work here are unhelpful.

Poorly constructed, you are going to hear all of your neighbors and the people above you. The internet connection is terrible and requires constant switching between the different networks. Other than location there is no need reason to stay here.

Reserved a non-smoking, got a smoking room. Tried to reserve under a wedding group; they would allow the group rate for only one night.

The room was dark because the lighting was not sufficient enough. The room smelled musty. Why worry about people's pets when the place smells so bad? I should have known when I called to find out if we could bring our pet and the phone rang for so long that we were not going to be the highest of priorities while staying.
