This is the dirtiest motel I’ve ever stayed in. We came for a night over the holiday weekend (Sunday of Labor Day weeekend). The sheets and pillowcases look like they haven’t been washed, the room stinks, there’s mold on the ceiling in several places, the bathroom had not been cleaned, and the shower head is missing from the shower. Stay anywhere else but here. These accommodations made for a very disappointing beach trip. Update: found fresh blood stains, other stains and hairs in our sheets last night. Obviously not washed. There was no fitted sheet on the bed either. Management gave us a stack of fresh sheets to put on the bed ourselves.

I only give this place one star even though I still say it doesn't deserve that. The first room I stayed in with my family the mattress had blood on it. The pillow had old make-up on it. The shower curtain had mold so did the curtins. It also didn't have a shower head. The room I was moved to the toilet had a broken seat cover, shower curtain and shower water handle both had black mold in it. The lamp shade had mold starting on it. But also the blanket had black mold on it. The pool wasn't to bad just some cracks in the foundation that need to be fixed. You can tell this place is not cleaned very well cuz of all the black mold and the maintenance is not kept up to. I say this place needs the health department to pay a visit to them. But only getting a star for the pool. Front desk people are rude and don't care what you have to say.

What can I say — stayed here when I was 16 with a load of friends. I should have left it back in the 70s. Back then it was a Mom and Pop run place. They put the girls on one side — the boys on the other. We had a blast! Now — forget it! It's aweful! Too bad things have to change! It's dirty and run by who knows who? What ever you do — pay the extra money and stay somewhere else!

It’s convenient, next to the boardwalk and a lot of nice places around.

I will never stay at this place again! They over charged us for our rooms and refused to refund it! The rooms are dirty, dark and nasty! Room service gave us a hard time about getting more towels! The ppl in the room next to us were drinking alcohol at 6AM. Our toilet got clogged and he handed me a plunger to fix it! Absolutely not! NOT WORTH EVEN $15 a night!

Tuesday before we were to stay I found out that my reservation had been cancelled, they said I had called and cancelled the reservation I had for a room with 2 double beds. They conveniently had plenty of King rooms available and surprise they cost more for a 3 night stay than the double room! They would not even work with me saying that I had called and cancelled (which I did not do). They said the manager stops in once per day to check the books for maybe an hour and he/she will not speak to customers. This is the dirtiest place I have ever stayed at… the sheets felt like they had sand in them and seemed to be dirty. I don't believe the room had been cleaned at all before we checked in. The floor was all sandy, the toilet looked as though it had not been cleaned for weeks, same as the bathroom. The entire room had an awful smell to it. The refrigerator barely made our drinks cold. The switch inside the door turns off the refrigerator and microwave, they should let you know about that when you are checking in. There is trash all around the property. Believe it or not the swimming pool looked beautiful however the Hot Tub looked like Muddy water. The only thing good about this place is that it was very convenient to Fish Tales and the Boardwalk. will never recommend or stay at this place again.

Booked the room last minute so the boyfriend and I could have another day in Ocean City. It was the cheapest place I could find and so my expectations were very low. I was impressed, however, at the over all quality of my stay. The front desk associates were very nice and the room was well furnished. There were a few issues such as the toilet paper holder not existing, a drawer handle popped right off, and the blanket had a hole in it, and one lamp didn't work, but nothing serious enough for me to complain. Parking was plentiful, location was good… Over all, exceeded expectations.

Website says ice available. It should say ice available for an extra fee. Because you have to pay for it. And it says complementary coffee yet there is no coffee. Not to mention the toilet paper holder in the bathroom was broken and so was one of the handles on the dresser. It also reeked of cleaner or something when we got there. The only thing nice was the good sized pool. I won't be staying here again. My friend stayed in another room with a stove and sink. Those along with her microwave did not work. The only thing in her room that worked was the refrigerator and TV.

Do not stay here. Rooms were filthy and run-down. The guests that checked in before us walked into their room to find people already in there shooting up heroin. This hotel refused to refund their money. Our room was filthy, the tub didn’t drain and food remnants were left on the floor.

If you want to experience the 10 plagues of Egypt then book this motel. There were crickets in the first room we were given they put us in another room infested with flys. Decided not to press our luck. The only redeeming qualities is the walk to the beach and the closeness to restaurants. Fish Tales and Happy Jack's. The staff were as accommodating as they could be.

I want to give it no stars, let’s see, first room we booked the bathroom door didn’t work, I asked the employee if they could send someone to fix it, he said no I’ll put you in another room. Ok cool. 2nd room the outlet didn’t work for the microwave and fridge, I went back again and complained that we need them to work especially the fridge cause we brought stuff that needed cooled. He said he would get us another fridge. I said no it’s not the fridge it’s the outlet that needs fixed. (I moved them to another outlet) his fix was a extension cord to run in between the beds… I rearranged the room to what we could for it to work. Also the satellite TV needs adjusted so every 2 mins the the cuts out for a minute. I will never come back here again. I suggest everyone else stays away as well. It’s a waste of money.

The worst seems nice on picture but not what they look like, we got this old room that smells like mold, the bathroom is very old and rusty. No Wi-Fi, no cable, you can hear conversations from the next door neighbors. The microwave doesn’t work. The fire alarm was broken, it woke us up 4:00 am. The doors don’t even close all the way. The walls are stained with white paint.

The lady at the counter was nice and being that close to fish tales is great but the room was horrible. Wet floors the center of the bed leg broke when she sat down to put her shoes on. You get what you pay for but isnt it supposed to be clean.

IF I could give this place zero stars I would. Nothing about this place is good. First no internet, lies, box old tv, no sink 2 microwaves that didn't work, no shower head, dirty, told front desk but nothing was done. Stayed 5 days because they take your money first, and no refunds. Horrible place. Never stay there again if it was free!

I like the hotel a lot. The only reason they are receiving 3 stars is because they had no shampoo and conditioner. Grrrrr. Even when I asked for it. Also are sheets were a little dirty not to happy about that. Exactly why I always bring a extra. No one was at the front desk to call for new sheets. A litter annoying. Other then that wonderful people and an amazing location next to lots of good stuff.

If there was a way I can rate this less then a 1 star I would. We came here for a nice weekend getaway. I booked it online about a month ago and the pictures they show is nothing like what you walk in to. We got our room and it looks like something out of a horror movie. I have bad asthma and the smell of the room was atrocious unbearable to breathe. There were a other couple also complaining about stuff crawling in the room. If your thinking of staying here I would think twice. This place should not evening be operating. And the lady at the office desk was not professional actually very rude.

Well, you get what you pay for. The photos, like most places, show you the welcoming side. Booked 3 rooms (2 on the second floor, one on the first). The first floor smelled like mold and had bugs. Housekeeping? They just hand you towels and keep it moving. They are rude. If you have the extra dollars, my suggestion is to find elsewhere. Other than location, it's a no for me dawg.

We were on the 3rd floor at the end of the hall. There was a nice view of the bay. The room was small, but comfy. The best thing about it is the fact that it's only 2 blocks from the boardwalk. Not a bad price for being conveniently close to the boardwalk, at around 22nd st. The staff was wonderful as well! Very pleasant and helpful! I'll definitely come back.

BED BUGS, MOLD, RUDE STAFF… They will not refund money. They offer false advertising and then when you get there the rooms are disgusting. Burners on the cook top didn't even heat up and you pay more to have them. The mildew smell as soon as you open the door would knock you over. The pictures on line are not what I walked in to. There were people calling the police looking for help and told it's a civil matter and the owner's could care less. They told them go ahead and call the police and call the health department while you're at it! There was fuzzy mold behind the beds that was a thick fuzzy mold and black mold all around the edges. There were active, crawling bed bugs. They then tried renting the same room to someone else after KNOWING that was in that room. I have no idea how this motel is so well known for being so gross and unhealthy and is still being promoted on so many sights with fake reviews and complete lies. This is run by foreigners that barely speak English! Maryland's health department needs to step up and shut them down. It's well known by the locals for how bad it is and how dirty the conditions are. There's NO excuse for that. Maybe they're paying someone off because that's the only logical explanation as to how they can possibly remain open. Completely mind blowing! **Update** I contacted MD health department and there are " no regulations on mold or bed bugs" they can SUGGEST they call pest control but that's about it!

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. First, we got a room that had water damage and the carpet was soaked. So we asked nicely if we could change rooms. She gave us an attitude about asking. The second room we got had bugs flying around and smelled like something was rotting in the room and had an extreme odor. At that time I asked for a refund which she declined saying she couldn't give a refund no matter what and was extremely rude. I lost 150$ and had to go spend more money on a new hotel. Not only that but the locks didn't even work right how am I supposed to feel safe with no lock on my door to perfect me.

I've never stayed in a more disgusting hotel in my life! The room was dirty. The was looked like they had never been wiped down. There was garbage under the bed. Toothpaste splattered on the wall by the sink. Holes in the curtains and bedding. The AC was cheap and the TV barely worked. Also we had no hot water to take showers, even after we called and complained about it. When I asked for a refund, management said they don't give refunds. No one else complained which I find hard to believe especially after reading these reviews. The room was absolutely not cheap either. If you decide to chance staying at the islander, make sure your tetanus shot is up to date. I wish I could give a lower rating but unfortunately it doesn't let you give negative numbers.

Do not stay here! I wish I could post pictures but it won't let me! The bathroom was disgusting and rusty and leaking water from everywhere, my family would not go in there. We ended up having to switch hotels.

Contrary to most reviews, I found my 3 day stay at this motel pleasant and enjoyable. Rooms seemed to be newly renovated and the staff was very friendly. For the price, it's definitely the Best Buy.

Charged me $209.00 for cancelling a room. (After I read about alll the bug issues) It specifically says they only charge $25 to cancell a room as long as you give 14 days notice, which I did.

I will never stay here again… first we couldnt check in til 3… after we finally got in. Across the way a couple was being taken out by ambulance and cops checking the room… and after all that check out was at 11 really thats no where near 24 hrs… and they are just out down rude. The manager thinks she is right about everything. Trust I will never stay there again.

Worst Hotel Ever for some Reason 1 — They didn't clean the room at all, they JUST CHANGE THE TOWEL ANS BLANKETS 2 — they don't even clean the floor or the Bathroom 3 — PLUS, they want to OVER CHARGE ME 110$ BECAUSE THEY SAID THE BED WAS BROKEN I WAS LIKE WTF, THEY DID NOT SHOW ME PROOF OF ANYTHING I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE THE ARE DIRTY IT DOES NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

It was a very nice place to stay… close to beach… grandkids and I enjoyed our stay there.

When we was checking in there was people being very loud outside. Plus a fight. Way to crowded room… No carpet on floors which were not swept. Rips in the chairs. No microwave. No hot water. When we returned from the beach later that night our bathroom was flooded with water from a leak in the rooms shower above us. My husband told them and they came over to look at it and said they couldn't do anything about it and brought me extra towels so that WE could clean it up! The light fixture that was in the bathroom was on the verge of falling from the ceiling. Bathtub plug wouldn't hold water. When the housekeeping came they just threw clean towels on the bed. Did nothing else. Would not offer any discount. Yes it was one of the cheaper hotels in the area BUT there is a big difference between being cheap and ripping people off! Made our first trip to Ocean City not so enjoyable…

Disgusting, everything about it is terrible! Filthy dirty and they don't even have an outlet in the bathroom.

Me and my family stayed there last year for a week after 2 days we tried to get are money back yes its that bad. The Wi-Fi never worked. The hot water was hard to come by and same with the help. Do not stay here they suck.

This hotel is so ghetto, refrigator, bathroom does not work. Room smells bad, kitchen looks nasty. Bad bad motel do not recommend it at all!

THE VERY WORSE MOTEL EXPERIENCE! My girlfriend and I were bitten by bed bugs and we also found them under our bed. We have picture proof of our bites and actual bedbugs at islander motel. When I finally spoke to the manger about it she was very rude, refused us a refund, and asked if we wanted another room instead. SMH! The room reeked! It felt very humid and reeked of mildew. The shower was dirty and the rooms towels were disgusting. There were spiders and webs everywhere. I advise no one to stay here. You may get bitten by bed bugs and even worse, you may take them home with you. Do not book with Motel or you'll live to regret it. It deserves no stars at all. And no this not just an unsatisfied customer who wants to put the business down, this Motel honestly has no business being open. A health inspector can not have possibly been here to make sure it were safe for anyone to be here. It is in no condition to be open. I hope this helps someone not to make the same mistake as I did to book here. Cheap rates is not the way to go. Especially here.

I cannot in good conscience give this place even one star, but I had to in order to post. I have never been treated so rudely, over and over! AND they used are credit card without auth! What a horrible horrible place. DO NOT STAY HERE! Take your family anywhere else, anywhere a all! Please do not stay here and if you dont believe me read all they other posts. The manager Oxana is very unkind and horribly mean!

This place doesn't deserve any stars! Literally the GROSSEST thing I've ever experienced in my entire life. When you walk in you're overwhelmed with the smell of bleached covered mold. The lamp shades are covered in black mold. I had bugs on the floor, the floor easily hasn't been swept in WEEKS. The bath tub was eroding, the bathroom fan had dusty mold growing on it. After staying in something so gross all you want to do is shower, but thats impossible considering the shower pressure is barley anything. The staff was also incredibly rude.

Went for a quick trip and decided to go last minute and room rates were a deciding factor for us. Ok price and honestly the room was ok. The room smelled a little musty but we had prepared for this and brought our Lysol and diffuser. The pillows and box springs were gross but again we knew this was a possibility and brought our own bedding, pillows, and towels. TV worked well and had cable which was a plus for my kids to watch DisneyJr. Fridge and air worked fine and were clean. We did end up going to Walmart to purchase fly swatter and a small dust pan and hand broom because even though the main floor appeared clean, the floor under the beds clearly hadn't been cleaned in a while. I was concerned that my little ones would drop something and it roll under the bed and then they would find something nasty to pick up. We swept at least a bit where we could reach just to be safe. Shower was a bit rough for kids because it didn't have a shower head and just sprayed everywhere but was manageable. Staff was nice and even allowed us to check out at noon which allowed us just a bit more beach time on our final day. Honestly prepared for the worst and was happily surprised that it was a decent stay.

Expensive lesson learned. Total disgust at this place room smelled like mold and when we tried to ck out (after 10 minutes) we were told NO refunds at all. The place was dirty, cinder-block walls painted red. Tv from a thrift shop. And did not feel safe at all. Reconsider b/f you plan to stay here. Very disappointed.

I stayed at this motel this past weekend and had a great experience. I was driving through OC for work and I needed a motel to spend the night. This was one of the cheapest one in town. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Will stay again during my future trips.

This place is the worst… They need to shut this place down. It is nothing like the brochure… it's a straight gimmick… The supervisor told me and my wife that black people are not welcome there because we wanted our money back because of the smell. They trick you with the pictures just to get you to pay for the room. But once you get there you can't get your money back. We called the local police and they did nothing. The room smelled so bad we just left.

Very disappointed. Thought I was on boardwalk as advertised. Rooms are very outdated. TV is an antique and no local stations. Price was good but hotel is in need of a major renovation.

I came early, lady let me check in anyway but a different room. Smelled so bad, changed our room next door, same shit. If you book make sure your on top floor, I should of read the reviews. Toilet is messed up, shower doesnt drain, water cold, mold all over bottom of wall and is wet. Smells gross. Ac filter was dirty as hell. Im not joking, I went to buy new pillows and towels to use. Also sprayed two bottles of heavy duty fabreeze around. Never ever staying here again. This room is worth 20$ a night tops.

Definitely you get what you pay for I get that everything is outdated but the room has no iron, no phone we had to clean the room won't be there again only good quality is it's close to the beach and the room has a stove in it.

Beware! do not stay here! blood on floors! read on. Booked stay for 3 nights, drove 3 hours, get there, get key, go to room, blood on floor, light fixtures hanging from ceiling, rusty stove and microwave with old mac and cheese left over, hair in tub, holes in blankets and sheets, wood panel walls, looked like someone had been murdered here, they have a NO REFUND POLICY. Offered to switch rooms, was so foul paid more money and booked a room else where, didnt stay here and wouldn't stay here one night, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, CHEAPEST HOTEL IN OC! wouldn't bring a crack head prostitute here! Couldn't even get a free tissue for my nose at checkout either haha.

DISGUSTING>>>DO NOT STAY HERE! I rented this place for my daughters Senior trip so you know the expectations weren't extremely high but. THIS MOTEL TOOK THE CAKE! It is GROSS, DIRTY, ANT INFESTED and no deal is worth the uncleanliness of this place! I was unable to get my money back — had to switch room THREE TIMES and when we came back from our outing on the FIRST DAY, we pulled back the sheets and there was a MULTITUDE OF ANTS CRAWLING ON THE BEDS! The Burners were SMOKING and sparking when we turned them so we didn't much use them. The bath tub was filthy, sink ran, mold everywhere, air condition leaked, outside chairs brown instead of white. Carpets highly stained and wet. Also, not only did we move multiple times, HALF THE MOTEL MOVED MORE THAN ONCE! Everybody sat outside and talked about how awful this place is! WORSE PLACE EVER! Only upside is the location — ONLY! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY _ DO NOT STAY THERE. It needs to be shut down or SERIOUSLY RENOVATED.

I am confident that this is the most disgusting hotel/motel in Ocean City, MD. My aunt and I went for a spur of the moment trip and we definitely will never be returning. Outside the room the PLASTIC lawn chairs were stained brown and there was a giant hole in the porch. When we walked in the room everything was damp and felt as if it was covered in dew. The room smelled like mildew. We went to check the bathroom and there was black mold in the showers, floor and near the air conditioner. There was no faucet in the sink and the beds smelled old and unwashed. The pool was dirty and there was cigarette butts floating around in it. The cable didn't work and there were no battery's in the remote. We demanded our money back and they gave us half, saying that we could still stay the full amount of days we were originally planned to stay. However, we left immediately. This place is not only completely repulsive but a safety hazard. Never go to the islander.
