I know the owner and she is a beautiful person and a wonderful lady.

Anne and I spent a great weekend in Oakland at the Oakland Motel. The room was great, comfortable bed, clean and welcoming. The owner occupies the property which is great. Our room theme was Family, Faith and Freedom. The themes are refreshing different than standard room decor. The owners are great and friendly. We've already booked for this years Autumn Glory Festival in October.

So, I will start with i've tried to call this motel for over a month to make a reservation. I've called numerous times and am always told "mary" would call me back and they take my name and phone number. To this day, i've not heard from mary or anyone. It's always a man who answers the phone and he is very blunt. I called again today and was told tat mary was out cleaning rooms and that she would call me when she was finished, still have not heard from anyone. We stayed here last year and it was very pleasant, but i'm not sure about it now. I give it a one star based on not getting called back. On the website, it says to call the property for rates and availability. Good luck with that. Very disappointed. They don't return calls, so I doubt if they'll even see this review!

This is a fantastically clean, well taken care of and comfortable place to stay. The ownership is extremely courteous and accommodating. Beautifully decorated rooms with a bit of whimsey really make the stay here memorable. If I ever find myself in Oakland again, this will be the first place I will inquire about…

Great location and easy to find. Owner was friendly and helpful in answering our questions about the local area. Comfortable room with lovely decor and nice TV and refrigerator. Nicest motel we've ever stayed in and we'll definitely stay again when we're back in town.

Comfortable, clean place. Staff pleasant, eager to assist. Only minutes away from Deep Creek. Will definitely come here again, and also recommend this to others.

A diamond in the rough. I generally stay at Holiday Inn Express, and wasn’t expecting much, but this place was on par with any Holiday Inn I’ve stayed at. If you need to stay in Oakland, this is the place.

I had a pleasant stay here. The room was very clean and decorated very nicely. I will definitely stay again when I come back to Oakland Md. The rate for the room was also very reasonable. R Sanders Gettysburg PA.

Went there for a Birthday get away. The staff was very accommodating and helped me with recommendations for food and fun.

What a wonderful motel! Such friendly and helpful staff and large clean rooms with lovely theming. Couldn't recommend this place more.

These folks are awesome. I had a work project in the area for several weeks. When I checked in I was warmly welcomed as a customer, when I checked out it felt like I was saying good bye to Family. Spotless clean rooms, and no cookie cutter decorations. Very homey. Tourists will love the wealth of knowledge of all the local sites. If it's available get the piano suite.

The Oakland Motel is awesome! We did not plan to stay in Oakland but had car trouble and needed to stay for a couple of days. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. We stayed in the truck room which was so cute! There was a nice little kitchenette area in the room. The owners were very gracious and kind. They drove us to the car dealership since ours was in the shop and even offered us their car if we needed. I will definitely stay here again if I happen to be near Oakland.

Cleanest and most relaxed motel I have ever stayed in.

Very friendly staff and Amazing decor in the room. Also was glad to help when asked about food options and conviently located close to a lot of shops and food. Jus wish for better weather so could get out and do more.

New rooms are amazing! Staff is very nice, definitely worth staying!
