We waited half an hour for a staff member to check us into our rooms and in the morning they were out of coffee. We stayed for 3 nights, and we will not be back. The manager spoke with us and was kind, but it was not worth the hassle.

It was dusty they need to use softener in their towels and stuff need at least extra pillows but stay was ok they was very friendly and helpful.

Very pleased for an inexpensive hotel, I was driving from NY to NC and the rain got so heavy I could hardly see. I decided to get a room and continue my trip in the morning. The guy at the desk was very friendly. I think his name was Justin. The room was clean the hotel was quiet and I got a great nights sleep for $68!

Our stay was very great and friendly. Would recommend this motel to everyone. We also would come back. Want to say a BIG THANK YOU! From the mom of the children. From Maine.

2 stars because the front desk staff is very good (and very busy). Unfortunately that's a generous rating, since room 103 most likely has bedbugs (I awoke to the unmistakeable pattern of 3 sequential bites in a row that confirm most likely bedbugs, not mosquitos)

Horrible! Requested smoke free and most assuredly was not. Was told they went smoke free about 2 months prior so residual smells… another guest said MD went smoke free in public places 2 years ago. Someone came to spray to take away smell but didn't work. Door latch did not work so needed to use secondary chain to keep door locked. Access door off back of motel didn't work so security was compromised. And sheets and towels had stains… not the cleanest of rooms. Management was lacking.

Rooms were clean and owner and employees were beyond welcoming. Woke up a little late and they held off putting up breakfast so we would have a chance to eat. Close to several restaurants and rooms were some of the more affordable for the area. Would stay here again.

We had reserved our room stating very clearly that we were travelling overnight with an infant that we would get there the Saturday at 5 am in the morning. We were told this was no problem with an extra fee for an early check-in. When we got there it was 4:45 Am, we were served by Dylan who refused to let us in. The person who wrote the reservation in their computer never booked the early check-in so he said he wasn't allowed to let us in. He refused to call a manager or the owner; leaving us stranded in the middle of nowhere with a 7 month old baby after a 9 hour drive. I couldn't even use a washroom. We had to make another booking to a place that would accept us right away, which was the super 8 in Frederick. Just to rest for a few hours and shower, we had to pay for a whole extra day to have a place from 6 am with an 11 am checkout. We were never able to get any kind of apology from a manager or the owner, they never took responsibility for their mistake, no discount because I had to pay for another hotel room 20 mins further because of their mistake. Since we couldn't get a refund for our nights booked there we stayed for Saturday and Sunday night (may 12th and 13th 2018) on the Saturday water started pouring down from the ceiling fan in the bathroom and on Sunday our bathtub was completely blocked and wouldn't drain for hours. (room 112).

Not impressed with this establishment or how it is run. Came because of fair rates and having no power at home for 2 days with a repair date 2 days out. Booked one night and had a fast check-in with Sierra. That was the first and last positive interaction between staff and myself. My boyfriend and I slowly discovered many problems in the room. The toilet was clogged (given a plunger but not asked if we needed help), ripped shower curtain liner, dirty tub/bathroom, 3 burn holes in comforter, 2 light bulbs missing, broken coffee maker, and to top it off the window was broken with no lock. Because of the rates and still no power at home, we decided to stay 1 additional night. I was told the room we were in was booked for the next night. Went onto the Expedia website and booked a king suite just as the one we were currently in. Called down to the front desk to inquire about getting into our new room. We were told we could have our same room but pay an early check-in fee. Magically our same room became available?! Asked if we could have a late check-out and was told no. Pressed the lobby attendant to contact her manager as I was confused since the website clearly said late check-out available. I was then told our room was yet again booked for the next day and needed to be cleaned for a VIP member who always requests this room. Why would a hotel put a VIP in a sub-standard room? This comment made us feel like the next customer was more important to please than us.

The hotel staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. And the prices are very reasonable. Definitely a great place to stay!

Very clean and staff friendly and very helpful. Motel is very well located. Easy access to route 15 so easy to get just about everything.

Clean, decent pricing with a convenient location (directly off of US-15). Beds were comfortable.

The facilities are a bit outdated and rough shape, but the rooms are nice and clean. Friendly staff. I appreciate the free coffee and waffles. Its not a shining star but if your traveling through the night and need an affordable place to sleep then I recommend this place. My family and I will definitely stay here again.

Very clean and quiet. All the staff was very friendly especially Colleen. I assumed she was the front desk manager and extremely surprised/disappointed to learn that she was not! She was beyond very helpful and friendly. She went above and beyond to get answers to a couple of questions that I had. I have so far enjoyed my stay here at the Super 8 in Thurmont and will definitely stay here again as well as recommend them to others needing a fantastic place to stay!

I've had better stays at other super 8 motels it wasn't bad but it also wasn't the best either, really does need more fixing up and cleaning done.

Clean hotel friendly staff and affordable.

For what it is and for a one night stay, the hotel was nice. Yes, the sheets and blankets were thin but it served its purpose. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast had limited options so I recommend going some place else and not bothering there.

Super 8 stay was great on the basics of an overnight stay: clean, comfortable and staff attentive to needs. Fair price. Appears that a new owner is trying to revive a neglected facility.

Room was fine. Nothing fancy, but clean and quiet. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

We arrived and checked into the 1st room. The air conditioning fan was making a loud noise. We went back to the desk, and was then given a 2nd room. After settling in we noticed bugs crawling on the bed, we pulled back the covers and their were more bugs, large and small ones, they were all along the zipper of the mattress cover. My husband complained to the desk clerk, all she wanted to give us was a new spread/bedcover. I stressed to her they were bed bugs. I had checked the internet to confirm what we were seeing, because we had never seen Bed Bugs before. Then we had to move the 3rd time. It was to late to find another motel. And according to previous reviews this BED BUG issue is nothing NEW! Should not have advertised breakfast, no milk for cereal and stale waffles. What happened to the Health Department/Health Inspectors. This motel needs to be inspected.

Service is good, very easy to find, rooms are decent over all id probably stay there again.

Tried to cancel a non cancelable reservation I made on October 21, 2015. Although after reading the reviews that are out there about the bed bugs maybe it is a good thing that we can't make it. Made the reservation for the night of 11/14 and found out today, 11/4 that my wife has to have in hospital surgery on 11/13. I first called the hotel directly and Christie refused to help but she did give me a number to call. The number she gave me was the wrong number and I finally got a hold of Price Line who handled the on-line transaction. They were willing to work with me in getting a cancelation and a refund and when they called the hotel they refused. Called the hotel back and talked to Christie one more time and all she said was that it's company policy. Wanted to get this review out there in case someone else gets taken like I feel I did.

No bedbugs since 2013, but the new threat is better only in that you will not take it home in your luggage. The manager, id'd to me as RAJ MOHN, pulls this scam: you make your rez 'way in advance. When you get there, you're told the rez# is not valid, but they have a room you can have for $X. You take it. Sometime after you get all your stuff moved in — — we were there for a week & had extra stuff for a sporting competition — — they "realize" your room was already booked for the last few days of your stay and you'll have to move — — yourself — — to a lesser room, and pay significantly more money. We are apparently not the first to have been "offered" this option. Note: we stayed there last year for the Mason-Dixon Stampede with no issues. This year we left near midnight in a pouring rain.

Arrived with family at midnight, room had strong musty, moldy odor. We awoke to itchy bites around my scalp and neck, my wife bitten all over. When we went to a pharmacy, he identified them as Bed Bug bites. Had to discard all our child's plush animals, and all luggage steamed. All clothing had to be dry cleaned. A/C not running, window closed. No curtain other than black out on first floor, couldn't open window without being in the parking lot. Sheets appeared used, creased and wrinkled. Bottom of bathtub grayish from dirt. Towels had large gray stains. Childs' cot from the year the hotel opened in 1991 was $20, without blankets. Paid $144 + $20 for this aggravation.

This is the dirtiest, worst hotel I ever went into. I had a 2 night reservation and with in 2 hours of checking in I with my son was kicked out, the reason we got kicked out is because I questions why there was no bedding on a roll a way bed I got for my son, his words to me was I don't like your attitude and you can leave. I wish I read more, and never booked with Windham.

Worst hotel I have EVER stayed in! It doesn't even deserve one star. It needs to be shut down. The first night I got there, I never unpacked my stuff. The bathroom was disgusting. It had, what looked like someone ran their dirty fingers across the back of the shower. I thought, well it might be stained. I took my finger and wiped it off, so I KNOW they don't wash the showers. I woke up in the morning COVERED in bugbites. I told the guy at the front and he asked if I wanted him to inspect the bed. I replied "I would hope so". So 2 of my coworkers, the guy from the front desk, and I went to go "inspect" the bed. When we pulled the mattress back, we found a bug. He tried to block my Co worker from taking a picture of it until I asked him to move, in which he replied, "why does he have to take a picture? ". Smh. So he explained he was going to take care of us. And changed my room and gave me the 2 nights free. So I decided to try it again. Big mistake. I woke up the next morning covered with more bites then I got the night before. This time I found 6 TINY ones. And made the lady at the front desk come to my room and see them for herself. When I came back later that day when I got off and talked to the manager. He copped an attitude with me saying I brought them and that they were the only 2 rooms that had them. :-/. Let's get real. I am COVERED in welts all down my arms, the back of my neck, and my hip. If I brought them.

Saw on the website it was $55/night, got there and they charged us $110/night. We took it because we were so exhausted from traveling. Get to our room and the fire detector was beeping (low battery) we told the front desk and his response was "i can take the battery out or you can. " We did and the battery had a date (that they put on themselves) of 1/09/2012. Our heat also blew out cold air. When we complained more about it the next day his response was "everything worked fine the other day. " The floors were disgusting and the bathroom had hair in it from previous guests. For $110/night I would expect a little more than what we got! Definitely will be contacting corporate and never staying at a Super 8 again.

This place is horrible! Do not stay here if you can possibly avoid it. There are lots of hotels/motels just down the road in Frederick and a few lovely ones just up the road in Emmitsburg. Do not stay here. We arrived, checked-in, and went out to dinner and sight-seeing, only to return to no internet service and a front desk that said they were "working on it. " An hour later, still no internet, which we needed and had chosen to stay there because they had Wi-Fi service. In addition to this large problem where little issues such as: plastic on the mattress which is disgusting to sleep on if you haven't tried it; curtains missing drapery hooks and not closing; the temperature adjustment on the HVAC unit broken off and missing; paint on the shower head and the fan switch inoperable in the bathroom. Then, the ultimate lie from not only the desk clerk, but the manager he got on the telephone: "We have not been having a problem with our internet! It is Comcast's fault! " as I asked why I was reading reviews that have said for nearly a month that there has been no internet service at the hotel? When the manager asked me what I wanted in compensation, I told him his job was customer service, not mine, so what was he going to do about it. His answer? "Get out of my hotel right now! ". And we were HAPPY to oblige him!

The rooms were clean. Housekeeping even showed up both days. (I stayed two nights. ) There were plenty of towels. The price, reasonable, but. No Internet. None. When I arrived the man at the front desk was on the phone with Comcast trying to get it fixed. They couldn't come out until the morning. (Comcastic! ) He also had somebody from Super 8 on the phone to make and confirm reservations. I spent all day Saturday at the Battlefield. When I came back on Saturday night at 8pm, there was still no internet. Or assume there was since there were 8 people standing in the lobby waiting to be checked in. I didn't really ask. I went to my room and sure enough there was the old Super 8 network and new "Super8" network. The problem was that the new "Super8" network required a password due to WPA encryption. The old network still had DHCP problems since I was still getting an APIPA address on it. I went to bed. I was tired from walking around playing Ingress all day. I decided to wait until morning. I got up in the morning and both networks were still up. The original still had the APIPA problem. The new one still had WPA encryption. I went to breakfast and realized the lady at the front desk was on the Internet. I went back to my room and yes, there were still the same problems APIPA and WPA. I went to the front desk to ask and was told there was no password. She was on the computer and it worked fine. I dropped it.

Had made reservations for 6/20 and 6/21/14 at the Thurmont Super 8. We were not given a confirmation number, but were told "we've got your name, that's good enough". When calling this morning to ask for a confirmation sheet to be faxed to us the person who answered the phone could not be heard well enough to be understood. When told that I could not hear them, but I could hear their TV blasting over their voice they became angry, abusive, and started yelling obscenities over the phone (I was very calm and polite with every single word I spoke). When I calmly and politely said I simply wanted to be able to hear and understand them without the loud background noise they hung up on me. Needless to say we called Super 8 corporate and reported this as well as cancelled our reservation. We will be staying somewhere other than a Super 8 for this trip.

Dirty. Rented 2 rooms and both bathrooms had hair and gunk from previous guests. Hallways needed vacuumed. Overhead 2 guests arguing w the owner about Wi-Fi not working. Value to stay here is about $30 per night, in my opinion.

The guy who checked us in was very nice, but it took a while to let him know we were waiting to check in and then our room key didn't work and when we went back to the desk he was gone and it took a while for him to come back. The room was clean, but later that night the toilet clogged and the woman behind the desk handed me a plunger. That was by far the worst service I've ever received in a hotel.
