I really wished I listened to the review made by Jarot Taylor. My husband and I made the mistake of getting married here in Feb. The managers here are absolutely awful! They are mean and rude. Karen the wedding coordinator is the only shining star in that place. She actual cares and knows how important a wedding is to a bride. However, you can never get her on the phone or get any emails back so its almost impossible to have a good wedding here. If I listed all the problems I had with this venue I would be here all day so I will just hit some highlights: 1. It took me and my now husband 3 weeks after we put down our deposit to get anything started with our wedding and to get a meeting to get our wedding contract together because it is impossible to get in contact with anyone. We had to go through a manager to get anything done. And when we finally met up the manager had no idea about anything but Karen took care of us. 2.30 days before my wedding I get a call while at work from the manager telling me that they are going under construction on my reception site. Redoing the walls and floors. And that they "accidentally" over charged us by $400. 3. After seeing how completely different our reception site was, I was super upset and the manager said she could try and talk to the new owners to see if we could get compensation for the changes. I said yes please do because the changes were not what we paid for and it was too late for change venues. After not hearing back from them for days I called and the manager said the owners didn't see any changes and did not feel that compensation was needed. After arguing back and forth, she was completely rude and didn't even know the simplest info about my wedding like what day it was then she tried to cancel my wedding 14 DAYS before the big day. After reminding them all the money we already spend on them & their vendors, and that we had 10 families most out of state booked in their lodge rooms and cabins, her attitude seemed to change and we seemed to work it out. 4. During my wedding, the manager decided that they would not provide plates or anything for our wedding cake and that we didn't have enough cups for the drinks and we would have to buy it all from them. None of this was told to us before of course. I didn't find out this til after the wedding because my mom dealt with it and had to pay for it all. And they tried to charge to have someone cut the cake so we did that ourselves. And they lied about the cups because we ended up with 15 extra cups that we ourselves brought 5. Lastly, we talked to our vendors later and they said they were they were so sorry about how awful the venue was. Their words were "Karen is a sweet heart but she has so much going on and its hard to get in touch with her but those managers, man… they are demons. " We enjoyed our wedding in the moment with the help of family and friends however the whole process was so stressful because of the Mountain Top Inn. I would never recommend to anyone to get married here. And do not believe the pictures they have on the website because they are not what it looks like now at all.
