Park is awesome… the lodge room we had is apparently one that had not been renovated. I won’t be staying there again.

The location is wonderful. It is pretty much a standard state park campsite. However, the price per night is $61. Upon our arrival I would have expected a little more for $61 Per night. No cable, no Wi-Fi, no sewer hook up, etc. And the campsites are really on top of each other, they are cram packed. The campsites are more in line of a $40 a night campsite. Please don’t get me wrong, the park is nice, the location is great and convenient to other attractions, just not worth $61 a night.

Great for a family trip! From hiking, zip lining, the lake, and fishing you’ll never run out of activities to do while here.

We had so much fun! The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. The lodge room was huge, VERY clean, and had breathtaking views (in pictures). We did the archery range, and it was so much fun. I had zero experience, and my husband is really good with a bow; we both enjoyed it despite a huge variance in skill level. They had a fire pit with swings around it. Everything was so peaceful and relaxing. We only stayed one night and didn’t realize how many things there were to do. This was definitely one of our favorite trips, and we definitely plan on coming back!

Avoid eating here at all costs. I went with my family this past weekend and the breakfast food was TERRIBLE. They didn't offer an option of how the eggs were cooked, country fried steak was a fried pork chop, gravy was powdered, "home fries" straight out of the freezer bag and into the fryer, and bacon COVERED in grease. Nothing was seasoned and sad. The only thing good was the service. Definitely do not recommend food wise.

Groupon sort of threw us for a loop by showing one super low price along side photos of the barrel cabins but in reality it was for a room at the lodge. The park staff was happy to change the accommodations for a small up-charge and we got to stay three days in a most awesome little barrel cabin. In February we were pretty much the only people there! It was a really unique and fun trip. We'll be back again and again.

New Year’s Eve Bootleggers’ Ball was amazing. Delicious food (excellent 5 star presentation), great band and friendly staff! We made new friends with folk from all areas of Georgia and look forward to seeing them again next NYE! We enjoyed another great meal (traditional New Years Day food) before departing on 1/1/2020.

Had wonderful time last night at the Bootlegger’s Ball! Great food, music and staff. Especially Lexi and her enthusiasm and man, general manager on the $100 bill! This was our second time attending Unicoi’s NYE event and it gets better and better. Just remember to add the portable dance floor next year. That carpet was rough on my knees!

Beautiful and serene. Absolutely amazing place to unplug and rest.

Had an amazing stay! Tent camped for two nights. Did an archery class with my two kids age 8 and 15. Tim and Kaylee were awesome! The archery and air gun range is really nice will be returning for sure. Another great State park!

Very disappointed. Room needs updating and small repairs. In house phone not working, couldn’t call front desk. Electric outlets would not hold plugs. Could not charge cell phones. Hairdryer in bathroom was gross. Ice machine not working. Walked down to front desk, (couldn’t call, phone not working). Steps closest to office was unlit and pitch dark, so dangerous. Was told I could walk to a different building if I wanted ice! Ummm, NO. Asked for a diff room. Clerk said “I think you wanting a different room because of ice is… ” I didn’t let him finish his sentence! Did he not hear all my other issues? Definitely have a bad experience with this stay. I will not go back.

Great park, well maintained and nice trails and visitor center.

Don’t eat at the restaurant! The fish was cooked tell it was like rubber the pork chops where dry. Baked bean had no flavor. Cheese for the broccoli was watered done. Only thing that was any good was the pecan pie that came from a box.

Friendly staff, great location. Lots of activities, archery, shooting. Great campground for entire family.

Stayed in March 2018 and loved it. Came back in April 2019 to the same cabin and was very disappointed. The cabin was dirty and there was mold in one of the kitchen cabinets. I spoke to the front desk staff… emailed the manager with pictures and was told the manager would contact me regarding my request to discount our stay. At checkout, they told me that they charged my card for the room at check in and as of today I still have not received any communication from the Front Desk manager. We will not be returning to Unicoi State Park in the future.

This was our third time staying at Unicoi (second for tent sites) and we had a blast! Bathrooms get trashed pretty quickly on the weekends. The laundry is free down by the visitors center, FYI. Communication needs to improve between the lodge front desk and the beach boat rental area. It was posted that the last boat out on Sunday was at 5 PM and we arrived shortly after 4. The lady at the beach area said she was already closed and the fliers must be wrong. I think she just wanted to leave early. There has been a very active black bear in the tent campsite area and even if your cooler is locked… he will find a way in! The park manager was very nice and accommodating!

Nice setting and relatively friendly staff but the lodging is disappointing. No cleaning service to replace towels and shampoo/conditioner. The buffet is really where I take issue though. For the breakfast buffet it is $12 and if you want coffee it’s another $3. This is absolutely outrageous. The food is less than mediocre and $15 is nothing short of highway robbery for what you are getting. I would never stay here again when there are far nicer lodging options in Helen with affordable food that is actually edible.

Zip line adventure was great! I highly recommend doing Level 2 course. Splendid lake views and longer zip line rides. Our two teenage boys loved it!

Was informed that buffet lunch was an option. When arrived, no buffet, ordered off the menu… food was overpriced, dry chicken, macaroni was awful… manager was so rude.

We stayed at lodge B with no mountain view at the last night. It was a total of $180 for one night. You'd think the a/c unit would be nice and quiet or the fixtures in the bathroom would actually work. And the shuttle into town? That was a huge selling point for us, but the last shuttle left the lodge at 5:30. The receptionist at the desk apologized for being rude and snippy because her dad was a Marine. A coffee would be nice too, except a single k-cup at the desk cost us $2. Pretty overrated experience and we will never return! The mountain bike trail was also littered with down trees and I turned around after 2 miles. I'm glad I had to pay $2 for a mountain biking pass and then was surprised that I had to pay an additional $5 to park at the dedicated parking lot. The kids wanted to do phase one of the zip line course… $69 for one kid! What? We went to Cool Rivers instead and paid $35 for a much more pleasant experience. Do yourself a favor and stay in town. Drive up to the lake and take some pictures, but don't put anymore money into that trap on top of the hill.
