Cigarette butt in hallway by elevator. Indifferent staff. Shocking as Renaissance is one of my favorite Marriott brands. Sad. Checking out early as it is unacceptable.

Great hotel! the bartender and chef are amazing. The food was outstanding! such a simple menu with so much flavor! Chef Chris came out to check and see how the food was, very personable. I felt like I was the only one in the restaurant!

Very nice hotel my girlfriend & I stayed on the 11th floor in one of the King/Presidential Suites & the only “complaint” we really had the entire time was the fact that you can hear all of the road noise & everything that’s happening outside at night & for whatever reason it seemed like our air didn’t blow cold at night. But other than those two things it was definitely worth the money & is really convenient to everything downtown.

Had two rooms booked for over a week and they cancelled my room last minute. The desk staff was rude and very unprofessional. Called Bonvoy CS and was told the confirmation numbers were active. My app says they’re active. The staff told would not honor them. I would absolutely not recommend.

Very nice hotel. Whiskey and bourbon bar was excellent. Had dinner there and Sunday brunch the next day and every dish was spectacular. Accommodations were good and hotel was recently renovated with some interesting art pieces in the room. Never have I stayed where the toiletries offered were Aveda products. 5 stars in my opinion.

Terrible lighting in bathroom for women. Sliding door on the bathroom is heavy, very hard to open and close and doesn’t provide much privacy. Other than that clean and great location.

Beautiful hotel and they're working on updates to improve upon what they already offer. The restaurant, Community Smith has great food and drinks. The staff is terrific and quick to accommodate in whatever way possible. The room is fresh, chic, spacious and comfortable. The location is convenient, with in steps of a public grocery store, more restaurants than you have time to choose from and blocks away from the Mercedes Benz stadium.

We liked this hotel immensely. My wife and I stayed for business and then extended the stay for some touring of the area. It's a nice location, although we were not thrilled with what to see in Atlanta. Still, I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Attended a wedding event and stayed here while looking for places to live in Atlanta. Wedding event was decorated and sleek, but it wasn't clear whether hotel staff were helping directly with the event or not. When I stayed at the hotel, it was very clean and an upper end hotel, but charged for internet (unless you were a Marriott Rewards member) which was a bit of an annoyance after paying a good bit for the room. Regardless, it was a good hotel.

I spent the weekend at this hotel and I have to say the entire staff made it a wonderful experience. Everyone was friendly, professional and willing to accommodate the smallest request. The location is central to restaurants and nightlife and only 15-20 minutes away from the airport. I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Atlanta.

Had a nice visit this past week. The lobby is in the middle of a renovation but check-ins still ran smoothly. Used the exercise room and they provide water, towels, apples & ear buds. Everyone I encountered was friendly and smiled. Great service from all, including the valet. I recommend and would return. Hope to see it when all the renovations are complete.

Pretty decent hotel. A little underwhelming based on what I've come to expect from Renaissance hotels, but nothing serious to complain about. Staff was great, room was comfortable. No concierge lounge. Rooms were a bit small but fine. Good location close to Georgia Tech.

Hotel is clean. Place looks really nice and the rooms are in excellent condition. Rooftop restaurant and bar is really nice too. I would definitely stay here next time I'm I'm town.

Everything was fantastic except for valet parking! This was the most disorganized valet service I've ever experienced in all of my travels. It's 2018 use a computer system that can integrate to phone apps and your phone system. Stop being cheap trying to use posted notes and a clipboard!. I called several times over the span of 30 minutes. Finally decided to walk down gave the attendant my ticket number and of course he forgot to write it down. Another 15 minutes wasted. Then when he asked what kind of car I drove his tune changed! (Expecting a big tip) I don't tip for bad service!

Great hotel! Room was spacious and clean. The only downside to this hotel is that there is only valet parking service available which is $35 per night, no option to park on your own. The valet service fast and friendly. Will return on my next trip to Atlanta.

Beautiful room, wonderful service and the rooftop bar is wonderful. I will stay here again when I am visiting Atlanta. We received a complimentary alcoholic drink voucher which was a great way to start the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The hotel is close/walking distance to many restaurants, coffee shops and near the Georgia Tech campus.

Hotel is nice and the location is great. There is no lounge which is very unfortunate (and it’s difficult to figure this out from the Marriott web site), and the breakfast “buffet” for gold/plat was very poor. The staff were friendly, including in the restaurant. Gym is good but a bit small. No pool.

Super friendly front desk staff and entrance greeters. It is located in mid-town Atl, and so of course parking was a challenge. 2 choices: Street parking or valet. Took me 40 minutes of driving around this hotel before I finally was able get a metered parking space — But luckily it was only a block away.

Very quiet, friendly and excellent location.

Rooms and hotel staff, pretty darn good. Restaurant staff? Pretty damn shabby. Even just a few tables are too much for them to take care of, at least when the staff spends 15 minutes at a time talking to just one particular table. Sorry guys, “I’m trying to take care of everyone but we’re busy” doesn’t cut it, not when you stood in one place ignoring everyone trying to get your attention. And no, a shot of well vodka I didn’t ask for does not make up for it.

Spacious room, with an elegant bathroom. Excellent views of the city. The staff is courteous and professional, (the expected norm of a Marriott hotel). Valet parking on site to save you the hassle of parking. Great location to be able to walk or Uber to local attractions.

Great Midtown location. Modern, well appointed and quiet. Friendly staff. Restaurant next door is professionally managed and the wait staff are an asset to the hotel. Food and beverages are excellent.

Stayed here a few years back and had an amazing experience however, this time around not so much. The housekeeper barged in the room 3 times before giving us a chance to respond back to the knocks at the door. You had to let the hot water run for at least 5mins before I got warmed. And last but not least, I guess having conversations and laughing in your room is against there policy because management came to the door to state guest were complaining because we were laughing to loud. Oh and one last thing the worker with the blonde weave clearly wakes up on the wrong side of the bed because she has a very nonchalant and rude attitude. I’m sorry but for the money you pay for a night at this hotel you’d think service would be better. Sorry I will not be coming back here again!

Classy place. Helpful staff. Quiet when I needed it. And the bartender was perfect. Great stay.

Very small room for the price. Room was HOT and not easy to cool down with poor AC unit. Was woken up several times in middle of night from belligerent guests in the hall. Pillows were chunky and my head fell straight through them, bed was ok comfortable. Toilet paper roll was half gone upon entering. Tub is small and had black particles that came off the metal fixture and mixed with the water when attempting to take a bath. View was unimpressive from 9th floor. Valet was terrible and took over 20 minutes, they couldn't find my keys at first and then acted like I never called to get my car back. Internet not included in price. Better off staying somewhere cheaper.

This a great spot to stay in Atlanta. It's in the heart of midtown and within walking distance to plenty of amazing dining options. It has a great restaurant connected to it that is full service and has a nice bar. The hotel doesn't have a concierge lounge, so if you have status, they will offer a voucher for breakfast instead.

Staff is lovely, they even have a service to drive you somewhere within a couple miles. The interior designer made the lobby not a super busy place, the rooms have comfortable bedding with a nearly always beautiful view to go along with it. They haven't given up on these amenities either: they respond to complains excellently as well. They do all this while mainting a vibe of youth and positivity. The quieter parts of the lobby do get a little creepy with all the lights turned off, but that's pretty much my only complaint.

Was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Did not look like much from the outside but I guess that is the norm in big cities. The interior was beautiful and the staff was beyond amazing. The professionalism was on point and the restaurant Communtiy Smith had great food choices. Would stay here again.

The positives, very clean, recently renovated. The negatives, staff at check in were lost. We were meeting the four a company planning session. None of our party got rooms that we had actually reserved. Took forever to check in. AV connections in meeting room was VGA, no laptops have had that as a native external display since the last source shuttle launch. Beds were hard as a brick. Pillows were pitiful. Construction next door was noisy and started way to early in the am. Staff waiting on us in our boardroom was great.

Very upscale hotel with an excellent view of the city! Expensive but worth it. Staff provided exceptional service. My only suggestion is we would have liked a microwave in the room. I will return and highly recommend this hotel to everyone!

This place goes over and beyond for events. I've been twice and the out of the box thinking of the Director, Sonia Hardy was superb! She was very accommodating and her staff was a collaboration of on point at all levels and pure excellence. It was more than expected and I will continue to make this place my go to for all my future events. Go Renaissance Midtown!

For some reason, every time I stay at a Renaissance I get put in an ADA accessible room. In this case, it just meant that the bar in the wardrobe was low so I couldn't hang up my suit pants or dress. However, my main dislike of the room was due to the poor design. There was an outlet in the desk "for convenience" but it was on the side facing the wall. Given that must cell phone plugs are 2 inches, a 2.5 inch clearance between desk and wall doesn't make it easy to plug your phone in to charge. What would have been better is if they included power outlets in the nightstand. My other gripes with the room were the lack of alarm clock and a waste basket. How can a room not have a waste basket? The hotel was otherwise clean and well maintained. I was staying there for business purposes so if I am ever back in Atlanta for personal reasons, I would not pick this hotel.

Very large rooms and pleasant beds that offer high sleeping comfort. Like to come back. The hotel staff is super friendly and accommodating. The food in the hotel restaurant is fresh and delicious. All top!

Great front desk service, nice sized rooms with comfortable beds, and the shower is awesome. Only complaint I would have is with the elevators. You'll tend to wait much longer than normal so give yourself extra time. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This place was nice and very clean. The staff was very friendly and the location is great. But… The bathroom door was weird. It was more like a sliding partition than a door. That would be fine on a closet, on a bathroom, not so much. Let's just say you hear everything coming outta the bathroom. Otherwise I'd stay here again.

Really nice, spacious rooms, and the whole hotel was clean and updated. Nice staff really topped things off. Rooms had large TVs, a mini fridge, and plenty of storage for our stuff. Hotel is surrounded by lots of restaurants, so plenty of options there. Would definitely stay here again!

They handled the storm really well. Lights went out but they were really professional and still had backup lights to at least keep it somewhat illuminated. Very clean and beautiful. Highly recommended.

Beautiful rooms accompanied by beautiful views. The location is in the heart of Midtown so everything is within walking distance! My fiance and I enjoyed the room and amenities so much we didn't leave the property for food or drinks. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Chasity checked us in and was very welcoming and helpful. Even the elevators were nice and had good music, we joked that if we got stuck in the elevators we would still enjoy our stay!

Great place to stay! This hotel is beautiful. I could sleep all day in that king size bed. All the employees where very nice and professional. I asked for Khadijah and Marshall name at the front desk because, I was very impressed with how eager to help they where. I will be back to this location in Midtown on my next visit to Atlanta.

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and clean. Great location. We did experience some early morning noise in the hallway. Also, be prepared for the parking situation. Parking on site at the hotel is for valet only, which costs $32 per day. You can try your luck at metered parking in the area around the hotel or find a public parking deck which will still cost you close to that per day to park. It took over a half an hour after checking out on Saturday morning around 10:30 for the valet service to get our car, and we still weren't notified once they had brought the car around. We had to ask the valet manager for our keys. Other than parking, the hotel is great and it is in a fantastic area within walking distance to some great bars and restaurants.

Nice place in midtown. Interesting food selection. Decent beer selection, though we were there before noon on a Sunday, so couldn't partake. Good, attentive service. The valet was very busy, but we managed to find close (free! ) parking.

My favorite hotel in Midtown Atlanta. Great place for a night away with your significant other or if your traveling on business, a great business hotel to stay in as well. Terrific hospitality service, great restaurant downstairs for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and a terrific rooftop lounge. There is no concierge lounge in this hotel, but the staff will give you free breakfast coupons for the restaurant downstairs (if you are Gold or Platinum), which is by far better than any Marriott related hotel chain concierge style breakfast. Walling distance to MARTA, great nightlife and restaurants within 1-2 blocks of the hotel.

The room was nice, well furnished and maintained. A/C was good, water temperature and pressure were good. Breakfast at the restaurant was tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only complaint is the bathroom door, a sliding door that doesn't have any latch or lock, and was prone to sliding back open on it's own.

Staff were friendly and professional at all times. The room was clean and comfortable. Valet was prompt and the restaurant was good. The elevators are secured by room key. The area around the hotel appeared safe even late at night with lots of restaurants available.

Recently came in from out of town for a wedding. Had to wait in a long line in front on Peachtree to check in (after a long drive to get there) and not everyone in line was checking in. There was no self parking so they nail you for $32/night plus valet tip. They had about 2 luggage carts the Bellman controlled so you couldn't carry your own bags if you had more than one. The room was clean and decent but they left not one additional towel in bathroom. Basic Internet was $15/day (in this day and age? ). Ordered room service twice and one of the times they brought the wrong food. There was NO information in the room about the gym, its whereabouts or other basic hotel service. The staff were nice and pleasant which was about the only upside of this place.

I visited this hotel in Midtown because I wanted to have a nice glass of wine with out the crowds. This hotel has a very scenic view of the lower part of the city and I loved the garden style bar and patio. It was really relaxing sitting next to the fire pit keeping me warn. The staff were friendly and helpful.

First I would like to say I am a Marriott Rewards Member so I booked our hotel straight from their website and not through a 3rd party. So I was able to request a high floor, extra towels, early check in, etc. They have a mobile app to help you request those type of things. 1. ) Loved that we could inform the hotel that we would be arriving early and was able to request to check in early, we arrived around 10am, and check in was at 4pm so that was great that we were able to go straight to our room, without waiting for hours. 2. ) Front desk staff was helpful, even informed me on how I could gain some extra points during our stay. Offered to make dinner reservations for us, very polite, we did order room service a few times it was valentines weekend so me and my husband at times opted to not leave the room. ;-) So room service, breakfast and late night ice cream came quickly and the staff was so nice and polite. 3. ) My one complaint is the valet service, we had $40 dollars in our car to be used for tolls. It wasn't just sitting out so whomever took it went looking very hard. Made my husband very angry. But we were already having a good time, I told him it was just $40, hopefully whoever stole it better really be in need because Karma will get them. Plus I don't like the idea of making a scene over that small amount of money their was a bunch of cheerleaders (pre-teens) in the lobby with their mothers. So I figured i'll just write a review later. 4.

My worst experience ever! I made reservations prior to my arrival. The room rates were $59.00 a night for a corporate rate. Once I arrived there were so many hidden fees and charges that was not advertised. I barely had enough after being charged almost $500.00 for one night after I cancelled the extra nigjt. I had to use a crgdrqh to.

Very sweet attendants. Our room wasn't quite ready so they paid for our meal at the adjacent restaurant while we waited. The rooms are nice, very modern with a nice bathroom. HOWEVER, the Wi-Fi is $15 a day!

Stayed new years eve. Hotel had no hot water. Valley driver based the door of my Audi on the curb. Rooms were clean and spacious though.

Never got our wakeup call. Thankfully we woke up ten minutes before on our own. Other than that the staff was very accommodating and friendly. The front desk made certain the foam pillows that had to be swapped for the usual feather, because of allergies, arrived. Great room. Only downsides is paying extra for everything: valet parking, Wi-Fi in room, local phone calls, etc. Had we received our wakeup call I would gladly give five star rating.

Friend slept on a rollaway in a $275 room. Ordered coffee on room service same night and got it after hour and half and three calls later. Must be new hotel, new people, overwhelmed, incompetent but untruthful, and poor service. Avoid at all costs for at least a year. Then try again. Not now.

Booked a two night stay, room and rate guaranteed to a credit card, 25 plus year rewards member traveler. Room was sold, money not refunded. Desk clerk was rude, unprofessional and really worked hard to make us feel inferior to his authority. He read my reservation to me, said it was sold to someone else, then asked me to leave. I've never written a review before, nor given Marriott a bad review. But the level of abuse and negligence I experienced at this hotel really astonishes me.

I would be leary. I was humuliated by The front desk clerk on the night shift Tara (blond weave) she treated me like I was a homeless person off the street, after I mistakenly deactivated my room key by putting it near my cell phone. My identification was in my room, so she had to get security to go up to retrieve my id. She gave me attitude and talked down to me. Not sure if it was because I was Gay or because I made the reservation through priceline for a very good rate. Either way. I should have never been harassed in this manner. The guest services supervisor apologized to me but her apology was not sincere.

I would have give this hotel a NO "star" if I had too. Just a horrible experience. Pictures can be deceiving and all the glory they put online when you walk into the hotel, it felt like it needed to be steam cleaned or needed some really good general cleaning. The carpets in the room were soiled not to mention that it stunk! The bathroom showers were dirty. The air conditioning ran all night and it sounded like a big jet plane taking off. The walls were thin. I heard music and people talking in the hallway all night long. I have called this hotel twice to speak to the manager but never returned my call. Please do not stay at this hotel. It is not worth $250.00 considering you have to pay $30.00 in parking. The name of the manager is Mr. Egelbeye. His voicemail is weird too when I left a vm. He said he is trying to discover new things in his vm. "why don't you discover that your hotel is a not well maintained! ". I would not even pay $100 to stay at this hotel. We also used their shuttle service to drive and pick us up for dinner which is three miles away. We waited over an hour and fifteen minutes to be picked up after dinner. The driver said that he is trying to find us when we were right in front of a big shopping landmark. Everything was a total lie. Why don't you just admit that maybe you are goofing around! sorry! It is filthy and dirty! just disgusting! Rest assured I will contact a higher up Marriott.

If you are coming to Atlanta, you have to stay here! I have never been more impressed by service and hospitality. I spend about 2 to 3 months out of the year in a hotel. I have NEVER been this impressed. Love this place.

If you are new to the city or just enjoy city lights and attractions, ask for a room with a view. The sites are absolutely breathtaking, especially at night. Along with your stay, you also have the option to choose to dine at the elegant Briza Restaurant or have late night cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at Rooftop 866. With the Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel the possibilities are endless.

The night valet, Wayne, is AMAZING. Yes, the hotel is beautiful and classy, and everything you'd want in a hotel. Stayed here for 5 nights for a conference and felt taken cared for in every way, but more than anything, Wayne made the difference. He treated me like a friend as I rolled in at 2 AM to check in and didn't forget my name the entire time. Amazingly friendly, genial, and just overall a great guy. He went out of his way to make sure that I had everything I needed both in regards to my car (of course), but really, anything else too. The desk staff wasn't exactly friendly, but Wayne made up for it. You can make a place as aesthetically pleasing as you want, but without amazing people behind it, you don't have anything. Wayne deserves a raise, a promotion, and every bit of respect that he has earned through his hard work.

Had my wedding at this hotel and couldn't have been more pleased with the hotel staff, Briza restaurant staff, and overall experience. The low reviews prior to mine are unfounded. As an Atlanta native, I can personally attest that his hotel is in a great neighborhood with lots of options in the surrounding area. There is absolutely alternatives to paying for valet parking, in fact there is a lot directly across the street from the hotel. The area the hotel is in is in one of Atlanta's most vibrant neighborhoods, Midtown. You can walk to the city train (MARTA) from the hotel entrance which is great if flying in to ATL and want to ditch the car. There are restaurants a few blocks away on Peachtree Street, and some quaint hidden gems located amongst the multiple cross streets in the surrounding area, and a movie theater at Atlantic Station not too far off. All in all, this is a great modern hotel, at affordable prices, in a great part of Atlanta.

I was skeptical about my stay at Renaissance because of the reviews posted. My company selected the hotel for me and I was surprised by the low ratings and complaints because it looked like a nice place online. I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff and room. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and professional. The accommodations and cleanliness of the room was upscale. And Midtown is great! I felt safer walking from the Marta to my room than I did near my conference or Peachtree station. Better food in the area, too.
