Our original room had two floors which they call a loft. It had three sets of stairs in the room itself so in order to get to the upper level room, where the bed and bathroom are, you have to haul your bags up. (All loft rooms should come with a valet for the bags). And that is a big issue. There are lots of stairs in this place, starting with the entry, and there are no bellboys. Couldn't drop a ten dollar bill on someone for help if I wanted too. Back to the stay. I thought, ok this is kind of cool but shortly after hauling the bags up we discovered the thermostat did not work so they moved us to a smaller room on the floor below. Then I say "they moved us" I mean figuratively because… When we went downstairs to work out moving they handed us our keys at and left it at that. No offer of help. Oh joy, new room has thermostat issues. We finally figured out that the AC comes on about 6 minutes after you lower the temp. Weird. No really — about a 6 minute lag. Shower in the morning — shower vacillated from normal to scalding hot to freezing cold 3 times during a short shower. I actually screamed. Went down for coffee and there was none. They very nicely took my wife to C level where we were given two cups of burnt coffee and rancid cream to go in them. I'll never forget that first sip. Also, when we woke up on day one there was a strange loud buzzing coming from the ceiling. Never did figure that one out. It lowered a little during the day. We returned from our day trip around 2pm to an unmade room. We let housekeeping know we needed towels and all the "stuff" and while writing this, it's been thirty minutes, and we've heard nothing. Upon returning to watch the Falcons defeat the Panthers at home I discovered an analog signal to the TV. Was like watching your grandparent's TV in the late 70's. For you younger people, it was as if some one put cheesecloth across your IPad. Free Wifi — while in the first room for about 30 minutes we were unable to access the "free Wi-Fi. " Once we were moved I was able to access Wi-Fi for a few minutes until it just started spinning. The front desk suggested I restart my computer. Uhh, I'm not on a lap top and restarting is soooo 2005 as a technical fix. Never was able to get on and use the Internet. So if no Wi-Fi = free Wi-Fi — they nailed that promise. While the Artmore could have some cool things going for it, I feel like they pulled up short of completely renovating it's systems. There was nothing wrong that could not be fixed. I'd say this is a $50 dollar a night value until they can fix some of the core issues. Quaint and refurbished + boutique + beautifully appointed art and vibe usually add up to some pretty cool experiences and the Artmore team was very nice. But… The Artmore has a ways to go and before they can be considered cool they need to fix those thermostats and not just pay lip service to a $109 a night stay. We were in Atlanta for the Holidays. While we survived two nights we would not recommend the hotel for more than overnight. Be prepared for an exciting shower!
