This place is perfect! This was our 3rd visit and we have a great experience every time. The staff is absolutely wonderful and very accommodating. Grounds are well kept, lots of activities and amenities.

Very nice with lots of room on your site. We took a waterfront location which gave us awesome views. Never tried the pool until our last day. That was amazing as well. Almost every day we saw manatees in the harbor. Staff very helpful with questions and I recommend signing up for text service when you check in. Grounds were immaculate and bath/shower houses were very clean. Never bothered with the Wi-Fi so not sure how that is but if you have Verizon, you’ll have to find spots around the resort that get the best coverage. A bit expensive but well worth it in our opinion.

Beautiful and convenient location — my only complaint is the sketchy “guard shack” — you’ll understand when you try to go through.

Wonderful resort! Clean park, beautiful views! Crystal clear water, plenty of ocean life. Spotted jellyfish and a nurse shark along with all the sea birds! And the staff was awesome too!

We recently stayed from September 14-28 2019 and we could be more pleased! Everything was extremely clean, sites are very spacious, horseshoes, cornhole, a play area for the kids, the pool was large and cool and refreshing. So many pools are warm this time of year, but theirs was amazing! They even have an ice cream store by the pool. Yummy. Laundry room was clean and all washers and dryers are In working order. The gym was small, but enough equipment to get a workout in. They have a store just off site, and the marina has a little of everything.
Our sites were water front and we had amazing views of the sunset every night.
We brought our boat, the marina and docking were spacious. There are plenty of fish to WATCH in the marina, no fishing, diving or swimming in that area.
Even a couple friendly manatee came up and wanted us to play with them.
Most of the staff were friendly, but a few just acted like they didn’t want to be there. All in all it was a wonderful trip and would definitely recommend and will be going back in the future.

Great resort, everything you need in one place. We stayed in one of rental units (rv) and couldn’t be happier. We are definitely coming back.

First, but not the last time here. In all our years of traveling, the front staff here was the nicest, friendly and very helpful of any! We were in the area April of 2018, after it was almost completely ruined. Since then in the short time frame, they have rebuilt this into, as far as I am concerned, the diamond of all Encore parks! We plan on being here all of November, but may need to book more!

RV park that encompasses the entire Ohio Key in the wonderful Florida Keys, 7-8 miles from Marathon Key which has everything almost. Just recently restored after hurricane Irma. Want to live on an island away but just barely, this is the place to go water views all around. Reservations way in advance required.

Excellent place to stay they are rebuilding the entire resort and it is looking great the staff is very courteous and professional I highly recommend it.

As the first camper, I quickly realized that the annual resident's felt that they could have their way with their total disrespect of campers with the shouting between their decks at 6am and midnight. They even drove their trailers with pwc at all times around. These neighbors had a pile of debris for 2 day's till I demanded that it be removed. The only public bathrooms smelled like urine and the volleyball court had buried bear bottle. They have a 5 meh limit and the employees drive at 20mph kicking up dust. I guess as the first guest I was wrong and I hope you don't make the same mistake.

We stayed before Irma hit it. It was a great place to stay with a lot of fun activities and a beautiful swimming pool. It's a short drive to some other lovely places to visit. I haven't seen it since the storm, but I really hope they can restore it to its former glory!

Booked a trip for June. Needed to make some adjustment to my stay and found out they’re not even open and they won’t be for my family vacation. They didn’t even have the decency to call. I had to find out myself! If you have a trip booked be careful! I now have to scramble to find a new trip for my 3 Kids.

It looks like they r still devastated from Irma but they r working very hard to get it better than it was before. We can't wait for it to open again so we can stay there.

Not enough amenities. Pool closed & no restaurant. The only good thing was that it was close to bus line that took you down town to Key West.

This resort was almost a total loss from the hurricane no lots available as they are in process of a major remodeling this is a beautiful place on the gulf side can't wait to go there once they open.

Still recovering from the hurricane. Looks like a nice place. Will stop back again.

I don't even know how to start. Apparently we are not the only ones that had this issue, this has been so far the most unpleasant experience I have gone through. First we got there with my newborn baby and they could not find our reservation, and when they finally found it they wanted to give us a space way smaller because the one we had reserved had been given to someone else. Then management is the worst… the guy was so rude, I was talking to him and some other guy pass by and he started talking to him like I wasn't even there. And lastly he said to me " I am trying to be nice to you " no sir you're not trying I paid for this. We finally ended up leaving because we would not fit there and then they refused to give us a refund because the manager said that he had walked us around for us to choose a different space. LIAR! I will never reserved at that place again.

The setting is beautiful! There r many well kept areas for any kind of sport. Water is everywhere the staff are very nice and try to accommodate every need that you may have I think this place is really for water activities mostly boating.

My name is Katia Bacallao and I stayed in the room 272. I had a gratifying experience at this place. I would like to thank the housekeeper Iraida de La rosa who offered us an excellent service. I expect to see her again when I comeback ; she provided the kind of service that me and my family expected.

NEVER again! When trying to check in after hours, the guard flat-out lied that there was already someone in our reserved space (which had been reserved and PAID FOR two months previously). Then, he proceeded to explain that he had no access to the computers to verify my reservation (despite us having email confirmation and reservation #), and no way to call anyone else who could verify it. When I complained that he was leaving us stranded without a place to stay, he stated "you're not stranded, you can park at the gas station! " Completely unacceptable experience. Incidentally, this was *supposed* to be a beautiful place for us to stay on our honeymoon. Instead, it's now day 2 and I am arguing with the manager who's claiming that we haven't paid for our reservation, despite the fact that we have credit card receipts and email verification from two months ago. I truly cannot believe how poorly managed this is.

The resort WAS a great place. Now they focus just on making money! The water pressure was turned down so low you could not take a shower. The cable signal was so weak that it could hardly be watched. I asked if I could keep our boat overnight somewhere on the property (had to drive our camper home first, then the boat the next day). I was told no, but if you pay for a campsite for another nite I could. The guys across the street from us were playing rap about shooting people, dropping the "F" bomb every other word, an the "N" word all at hi volume, with kids driving golf carts all nite, many without lights! No controls there, all about them making money.

We stayed there because it was the only place with open spots for the 4th of July Weekend. Site was close to the highway (very noisy at all times). We were surrounded by permanent RVers, each with a rig, truck, golf cart and boat on site, making for very little space to navigate. Everyone was friendly but we could have done without the loud music every night. Our site was littered with decomposing bait, which we didn't realize until we had the rig parked. Very nasty smell and a lot of flies. The campground itself is nice, just very cramped.

We arrived on April 1st — the day that most of the "Snow Bird" were leaving for their summer destinations. When we checked in — they had us in a site pretty close to the highway — which is something we really don't like due to the noise. Good thing the Snow Birds were leaving — lots of other sites opened up and we were able to get a premium site deeper in the park — just across from the water. We spent a month here and enjoyed every minute of it — even when there were some pretty good storms with buckets of rain. This park offers stunning sunrises and sunsets. Its so close to Key West, Bahia Honda State Park and the 7 Mile Bridge. The 7 Mile bridge has walkway right next to it that is a mile long — lots of people fishing and walking. It was close enough to ride our bikes. We were able to see Nurse Sharks, Sting Rays, a Sea Turtle and Tarpon. Key West is about 45 minutes away and a shopper's paradise — lots of places to eat and drink too. Busy — busy — busy — even during the week — tough to find reasonable parking. There is a sunset celebration every night at Mallory Square showcasing arts, crafts, street performers, psychics and food carts. The water is so clear and beautiful — we decided to get an inflatable kayak for two. It is a Sea Eagle SE 370. So far we are in love with it. The only down side of the resort — was the over abundance of kids in the pool.

Nice campsite, but only if you own a boat, otherwise nothing is around, beach like almost on the whole keys nothing.

Nice rv resort with some beautiful views. Clean and well maintained with a beautiful pool. We weren't right on the water but there is beach access, a marina and a dock that is perfect for watching the sunset. My only complaint is that the water pressure was weak. But one of the other guests warned us, on the first day to fill our fresh water tank and that way, we could use our water pump.

It's a nice place. Very tight sites, be ready to have to squeeze into your spot. While there for a week, I encountered at least 2 dogs a day that weren't on leashes. We did get to see 2 Manatees at the Marina. The pool is kind of small. Don't get me wrong. It's a nice place. I'd stay there again. It's real close to Bahia State park, and there are beautiful beaches there.

Supposed to stay for 3 nights. Only stayed 2 because our camper leaked water in kitchen all over, nothing to do with kids after 530, pool closes early as hell, beds were extremely flat and is the like your sleeping on wood, office wouldn't help us at all with anything, the beach is super shallow and the campers on beach get mad when you want to go to the beach. The game room is not a game room at all their is just 2 ping pong tables and thats it. Lots of older people who don't like any kind of noise or anything at all after dusk. Just not worth the money at alll! Do not stay here.

Just wrapping up a stay of 1 month. Staff, from the folks at the front desk to the folks helping to maintain the resort — all very friendly and helpful. We moved twice during our stay, primarily because we wanted a site on the marina. Some sites are larger than others, but no problem with our 38 ft with slideouts. Very nice watching the manatees swim up near the front of the motorhome! Bring your fishing gear — there is a marina and a pier to fish from, and the marina folks are pretty generous with the purchase of live shrimp. Tennis courts and pickleball courts. Nice pool. Only downside was the fitness center, which was closed for remodeling. Location of the RV park is a bit remote, in that restaurants, shopping are several miles away. Beautiful Bahia Honda State Park is just across a short bridge. We are looking forward to our next stay!

If someone wants to spend time close to Key West and want to treat this place just for parking and overnight is ok but if someone thinks of is here heated pool or beach sand unfortunately be disappointed, already translators why! So really the swimming pool is heated but 7 days stay here once that I experienced, so a swim had to go on keywest or another beach because it is something which here they call a beach in no event it is not, in practice, on top of this kind of beach jesst from the gulf of Mexico and all the time we persecuted North wind and the only place where to you could hide from the wind was a swimming pool, just wish that in the pool was cold water.

Had a great stay, great location to explore all around the island! Great friendly staff who are welcoming and accommodating. A little pricey but you get what you pay for great place will return:)

We have a beautiful site overlooking the Gulf. The people are so friendly and there's a lot to do here. It's located between Key Largo and Key West.

They pack'em in pretty tight. Folks were nice & friendly but we only had room to maneuver because we're a small (25') class C. Anyone larger would have a serious challenge. We did see Pickleball, an exercise class in the pool & a free concert so they do a nice job with activities. We brought our kayaks and we easily launched them in the marina for a couple hours paddling halfway around the island and back. It's on the highway so we easily caught the bus into Key West for a fun day and sunset at Mallory Square.

Stayed in one of the waterfront RV sites. Awesome stay. Can walk directly into the water, and there's actually sand, not rocks (which is rare for Keys RV parks). Marina is great, with a nice little store with live bait and fishing basics. They have a really nice covered fish cleaning station, near the credit card laundry, which is convenient. Gas station in front of park doubles as camp store. They charge high prices (bottle of aloe was $11! ) so get your goods elsewhere, but it is convenient. Saw manatees and tons of fish.

The A plus Customer Service… all the staff was really attentive to our needs… I got the spot I was looking for. Water front… Every morning I enjoyed long walks on the beach… I swim almost every day, I love the pool… I spend some time with the manatees… giving them sweet water from the whose… It is a peaceful place where you can find everything you need…

We were so excited to come camping on the beach! We specifically told the reservations that we wanted a beach front site, which is why we chose this location. We paid extra for it, the "elite site". The view was nice but there was no beach. It was all grass and muck, could not go swimming where our site was. It was also so shallow that we could not go fishing there either. The two reasons why we wanted and paid extra for the "elite site". The site was dirty, bottle caps, old bathing suit and trash everywhere. We went to the pool at 7:45 and all the gates were locked. We waited around for 15 minutes trying to get in then finally found someone who said it was closed, yet there were 10 people in there still swimming and having a good ol' time, so that was very disappointing. We went to the pier which was pretty. We went to fish and there were a group of people blaring dance music where it was hard to even think straight. I'm down to have a great time but I'm on this little pier with my baby and husband trying to relax and catch a fish and these guests are trying to have a dance party, scaring all the fish away. We also tried conversating with other guests and even the employees and was disappointed when we couldn't even talk with anyone because we were the minority. I strongly suggest reading other reviews before coming here, I neglected to do so and wish I did because I would have gone else where. Definitely not worth the money.

I wouldn't even rate this a one star and cannot believe that Encore considers this a resort. We took a vacation with other RVers in July. We had our nephews from Missouri so figured the Keys would be a nice summer trip. We received some free vouchers from Lazydays and scheduled a 5 night stay. When we pulled up, the smell was horrible like dead fish. They put us on a row (mind you we have a 41.5' Class A) so tight we could barely get in. The site in front of us had Easy Up tents, RV, boat, and golf cart piled in so we had to back out to even attempt to get out of our spot. This is not a campground, it's a trailer park. These are full time residents as most of them have permanent set ups (full sized refrigerators, commercial ice makers, and even large inflatable pools) on their site. The wiring was hanging out of the hook up boxes, dog feces and trash covered our site at arrival. We had a 5 night stay booked and left after one night. The first night, the music in 3 sites around us went until 4 am. That is only because rain showed up thankfully. Something was also thrown at the top of our RV around 2 am. Kids race around on golf carts all night. I normally do not give negative reviews but I feel that maybe this one will save someone from making the 9 hour drive that we did to stay at this place. When we checked out, the front desk apologized and asked if they could have the manager contact us. That was over a month ago… still no call.

We had great time and will be returning in a couple of months. Nice park and friendly people having a good time. Reminded us of the place we used to visit in lower Baja, lots of great memories.

Too many permanent residents. Not really an rv campground, more like a trailer park. Water pressure sucked! Cell service was awful and you have to pay for Wi-Fi. Too many golf carts and kids. Through the week it wasn't all that bad but it gets very rowdy on the weekends; loud music, drinking and people walking through your campsite. If you're Hispanic this place will feel like home to you, but to us we felt out of place. The campground itself isn't necessarily bad, just very crowded and the permanent residents ruin what could be a great camping experience. Too bad too because it's in a great spot just minutes from Marathon and roughly an hour from Key West. Oh well… if we come back to the keys it will be somewhere else that we stay.

Arrived at Sunshine Key with reservations for a waterfront lot. Upon arrival we were told our lot was given to Cubans who were planning on coming down on weekends for 6 months which trumped our 1 month stay. They put us on a lot with no view or breeze. Obviously, this made us very angry. During our stay we had to endure Cubans loud Hispanic music, drinking and yelling at all hours of the night, kids racing around on golf carts, men cleaning their fish on the beach where people walk and swim. When we made numerous reports to security nothing was done. One night a lady and man were fighting outside our bedroom window and we were afraid there was going to be a shooting. We spent many sleepless nights. This property is one of the prettiest for camping in the Keys. It is so sad that it is ruined by people who have no regard for others and rules are not enforced. We definitely will not be back.

Sunshine key resort, to my family and friends is the best time of the summer. We all get together and disconnect from the daily stress and routine. We are Cuban-American and the reason I'm writing this review, is because the place is beautiful, everyone there including the wonderful staff is a mix of different cultures and flavors. That is what makes " SOUTH FLORIDA SPECIAL ". We fish, we cook, we sing, we play dominoes, we dance, and " YES we get loud at times but, who doesn't went you are having a great time, but at 10:00 O'CLOCK IS DONE. So please stop with the negativity. I have seen bad reviews about bringing everything, refrigerators, stove, barbecues, and the mother sink. It's because by nature, We love to be comfortable. Big Families like us spend 3 to 4 months in the keys, so please let us enjoy "PARADISE in a good positive and loving way, sunshine key is the best place to be with family and friends and create memories that will last forever.

I love beautiful place for fishing.

Have to admit we were not sure about this place at first, but my husband and our friends met us there this past Nov 2015 and we had a great time. Already booked again for 2016. The only problem we had was some over night campers playing loud music. We asked them to tone it down due to the late hour but they just turned it up louder, so my husband went to the front office to complain, and within 15 minutes the music stopped all together. The grounds were well kept. Yes, there was sea grass on the shore, but it was so windy I never smelled anything bad. When it rains there are puddles, but they evaporate eventually. (Its Floridia) The restaurant was closed and that was a big disappointment, but we just loved the view, being able to bring our dog, and the weather is usually good in Nov. From what I've heard and experienced the new management is really on top of everything and doing a great job… Mike and Trish Barth.

I have been coming for years to the summer program and now out of the blue, this place doubles the rates? you must be crazy to pay what they are asking! my buddy and I located a house in big pine with canal in the back, we are splitting it for the summer and still came out cheaper than this crazy resort! ready to rock for the summer…

I think they need a full service restaurant. Since they are miles from anything. And for the price they charge they need a dog run or dog park. Most have a dog with them and there is not a good place for the dogs to get any exercise.

And always received the best attention.

The site is very nice but the facilities lack of service to persons with disabilities, during my stay, access to the bathroom it was almost impossible to ramp very high, the bathrooms are not conditioned and do not have a handle, showers, or talk about not accessible in a wheelchair cubicles where are the pocetas are difficult to transfer. Spend a lot of work the days that I stayed there.

All very nice, organized and clean. We had a great mothers day 2012.
