Amazing staff! The views are amazing.

Very good restaurant on site! Views are amazing.

Very disappointed, the room was old and dirty, the service at the bar was good but the other staff of the hotel was not. The room door do not lock the door I call them, they send some vary that try to fix the problem but he and said someone will come tomorrow to fix it but no vary show up. No amenities at the hotel only the pool and beach. On the websites they show the new building but they has an old building and when you arrive they send you to the old one thinking that you stay at the new one.

If you are looking for a peaceful beautiful place to stay, Zota Beach Resort is your place! All of the staff are attentive and helpful! A Big shout out to Tina at the front desk and TJ whom you meet on the pathway to the Beach! Thanks to both of you for making my husbands 50th Birthday extra special!

Absolutely loved this place and the island. The staff are top elite. The valet took it to the next level of costumer service. My family will be back for sure!

Loved this hotel. Great location, excellent food and drinks and attentive staff.

I just have to commend the staff and how excellent they have been in every facet. First class customer service starting from the valet all the way to the beach guys. Pool attendants and bartenders were attentive, pleasant and quick with every second of service. Ronnie at the front desk was helpful and patient as well. It’s obvious he’s in management. Now I’m going to get into the restaurant unfortunately because everything else is exemplary. Talking with other guests this needs to be said. As someone who’s been in food service throughout my career and at the highest level. I just have to say that I am frankly appalled. The menu is not only limited to less than ten items for each meal. They limit their availability based on times. You can’t order anything off of the lunch menu past 6pm as if it’s not available in the kitchen. Our first night we arrived my fiancé and I ordered the Ribeye and Filet for dinner. Both steaks were in excess of 40$. Immediately could tell it wasn’t prime beef and they had been thawed the morning of. Paying that much for a choice/angus steak with extremely bland flavor should be a crime. Both steaks were over cooked as well, At least the waitress was nice. Next morning we had breakfast. The coffee might have been the worst cup of Joe I have ever drank. Tasted like water. Go to turtle coffee bar up the road for reasonable prices and fantastic coffee. The omelette had jar bacon bits.

This was our 2nd time staying here and it won’t be the last! The hotel and location are fabulous. The staff is great, it feels very warm and friendly. Thank you Zota!

Great service and accommodations!

If you want a great luxury vacation this is it! Staff is beyond friendly. They open doors, grab your bags and ask you throughout your stay if you have any questions. Restaurant is good with a breakfast buffet on the weekends. There are three good restaurants nearby. Mar Vista, Shore and Dry Dock are also very good. Pool is absolutely unbelievable! Warm water and exceptional food and drink service! Hot tub is also amazing! Beach is one of the best I’ve been on. They have rentals and also have drink service. You can rent a queen bed on the beach! They had musical entertainment on Saturday that was just right. Great place for families. Rooms are spacious and very clean with a pool and ocean view. Property in general is also very, very clean. My only negative is I wish we could have stayed longer! Book this place with confidence!

Beautiful resort with great amenities and fantastic service! All of the hotel and restaurant/bar staff were wonderful and there to make our stay top notch. We loved the pool area, the beach was well groomed and had soft white sand, and everywhere you looked in the hotel area there was some sort of waterfall or other beautiful water accent that just added a little extra elegance to the resort.

Excellence from the moment you pull up to the valet til the moment you leave this upscale Hotel. Located directly on the beach with comfort in room, poolside & beachfront! Staff goes over & above the rest! Highly recommend!

Absolutely beautiful and relaxing. This resort has every amenity we could want. My only comment would be traffic on and off the island is challenging, so plan accordingly. But well worth the trip. Gorgeous!

Great place to stay and not overly crowded. More of a boutique hotel feel. Dan the concierge was extremely helpful and the staff very friendly and accommodating. This was a workcation for us, so we rented an ocean view cabana, instead of working in the room. Highly recommend.

Just the right size Resort in Florida’s Famed Longboat Key. Very courteous and attentive staff. Beautiful pool. Gorgeous beach, which frankly has nothing on the many Caribbean beaches I’ve been to. Good onsite restaurant if that don’t suit you, many others within a short drive.

Amazing service! The rooms are exceptional in the new building and in the older building they are nice as well just not as spacious. But the pool was great and the beach?! I literally stayed out all day till. I got fried the most peaceful time I have had in a while! A must go!

Over priced, had higher expectations. Room was marginal for price. Staff at desk seemed less than hospitable for a resort of this price. Disappointing.

Amazing resort in paradise. Staff goes out of their way to make sure you are happy. All areas are so clean, pool and bar area is so nice. The amazing beach is right there to walk back and forth from the beach to the pool. Cant wait to come back again. Highly recommend this resort.

Just book it. You won’t be disappointed. That view and location are amazing! It is so peaceful. The pool and hot tub are gorgeous along with the landscaping. I stayed two nights with my bestie and we had a wonderful time. The staff seem genuinely happy and are very friendly, fun but professional. We had lunch at Vienti and the food was great! We also tried the Dry Dock (more upscale) and Old Salty Dog (a local favorite) restaurants for dinner nearby. Both were excellent and had great service. I would go back for sure!

Excellent location right on the beach amd close to an amazing centre with shops and restaurants. The hotel was also spotlessly clean. One downside. If u wanted to eat in the only restaurant, it was really a bar that served food. The bar closed at 10, 10.30pm and we were literally asked to leave so they could lock up. The pool bar was long closed so there was no where to sit and have a few drinks taking in the beautiful setting. Such a shame. We were told if we wanted to continue drinking to head down the road. Seriously long walk!

This review is specifically for couples that are looking to having a wedding here… Written by wedding photographers Vince and Tarah (Fallbrook Photography) Recently, we practically felt like we were on vacation while shooting Emmy and Brad's wedding at the absolutely gorgeous Zota Beach Resort on Longboat Key, FL. The couple were so welcoming and friendly, as was the resort itself. This venue combines a touch of trendy posh meets beachy vibes. And because the venue has so much to offer, everything was perfectly in one location. From the hotel room, to the ceremony location, to the reception area, the Zota Beach resort did a fabulous job! The staff was super friendly and helpful (Not to mention the complementary cookie bar that graced the hotel entrance! ) and the hotel rooms were filled with classy and artsy decor, which made our job very easy. Not only that, the wedding ceremony was beautifully placed upon the powdery sands of Longboat Key, which is perhaps one of our favorite beaches! We were also able to capture some beautiful romantics of the couple inside the resort as well as various locations along the beach. Lastly, while the reception was small and intimate, the staff at Zota Beach Resort did a wonderful job in creating an elegant yet fun celebration for the couple! A shout out to the Zota Beach Resort for doing an exquisite job in providing the perfect wedding atmosphere in every aspect!

We loved it! A Wi-Fi issue at our friend’s vacation home sent us searching for a resort (always working! ), and we decided to give this place a whirl. We weren’t disappointed! It’s a very new resort, owner by the Opal group, and had all of the high-touch items one could expect at a four-plus-star escape: great service from people who seem to (and say! ) love their jobs, frequent and timely pool service, and painless check-in. Rooms, though a tad small—we had a one bedroom suite), were meticulously clean, and the property has an upscale feel. The only complaints:
— The pool is quite small, which would be fine if there weren’t so many splashing little ones (and clueless parents). That said, the water was perfect, and the chaise lounges were plentiful and comfortable.
— Beach chairs are free, but umbrellas are charged for. It’s not a lot, but come on: when someone rents a cabana for a day, is it hard to throw in an umbrella with the chairs?
— Check-Out was a total pain. They charge your card immediately as each transaction is made, which is fine, but our charges didn’t match our check-out folio, and there were no managers on premises to explain the issues. Also, most transactions were off by $. 50 — $1.89. Why? But even through that, the gentleman at the desk was kind and patient and trying his absolute best to help out.
Can’t wait to go back!

We stayed at Zota over Spring Break 2018. After booking via Expedia, we had some issues with the reservations folks that almost caused a cancellation. Upon arrival, we were, very unnecessarily, treated as though royalty. The staff was amazing and the resort was fabulous! Despite cold and nasty weather that prohibited beach days, it was a wonderful long family weekend! In fact, we enjoyed our visit so much that we are going back with friends the last weekend before school starts. Zota will always be my go-to when traveling to the Sarasota/Longboat Key area! If you skip it, it’s your loss!

Very nice hotel next to the Beach. Pool is nice as well, not huge. I am givibg 5 stars because for a not 5 stars hotel everything is nice. One of the nicest one in the area. Service was good, room was good size and clean, updated and pretty. I would stay here again eyes closed. I wish the pool had been bigger but it was still enjoyable.

The hotel (room, beach, pool, etc. ) were beautiful and the location perfect. Guest Services was helpful. Room service & Housekeeping took a minimum of two hours to get anything to your room. In one instance they did not show up at all. Be aware there will be a daily resort fee and tip is included in all purchases made at the restaurant or bar. I would go again but not anytime soon. I think they are understaffed after the renovation.

Beautiful resort. Although we had to wait a while before we got our room the staff was very nice. Room service was quick but we did not like what we picked. Not the resort's fault. Beautiful view of the Gulf and pool from our room. Room was clean upon arrival. Staff was great.

Wonderful hotel and staff very nice and hospitable. Reasonable rates and not noisey at night. The on premise restaurant is amazing. We had the fish tacos and they were great. The server told us everything fresh and it tasted it!

Lovely resort. Very clean. Very helpful staff. The gym/workout room has a nice view of the ocean and earphones, water, towels and cool towels are provided. There are 2 buildings. One is brand new. If you have a room in the older unit, it is still clean and updated.

Just returned from a 4 day 3 night stay at Zota. It was fabulous! The room was beautiful, the view was spectacular and the espresso prime rib and crab cakes at the resturant were amazing! Our waiter Dan was on point! We will definetly visit again.

Wifey found the beautiful resort for us. Staff have been fantastic. Nice pool area with direct access to the beach. Very clean rooms. Definitely would recommend.

This resort was magnificent! I would equate it to a Kimpton property. It was impeccable and the service was fantastic. The view from the balcony was amazing even though we didn’t upgrade our room. I would come back and recommend it to all of my friends and family.

Great location, though a little secluded from a lot of restaurants and nightlife. Rooms are excellent. We stayed in the new building and had great service. Breakfast was included with our room and was very good each morning. We had great service by the pool and beach — even had an attendant move an umbrella for us one day when we were in the sun. Great experience!

This was a nightmare, I have been to several five star resorts as well as four star resorts and I've never experienced such a lack of professionalism. I paid extremely well to stay here for my grown twins birthday, there was no concierge available or even offered, no bell hops, not one menu in our rooms for room service, the girl we called to order was extremely rude, no sheets or pillows for the fold out bed and when we did finally get a menu the items were not available… to pay that much for a room shouldn't there be a complimentary breakfast at least? The location is beautiful but definitely not a four or five star resort. They charged my room $22 for my granddaughter to watch a movie that she fell asleep to and was not able to resume the next morning without paying again. I've read the bad reviews but only after I stayed, the general managers response seems to be exactly the same and without personalization for each guest complaint. We paid top dollar for exceptional service and only wanted what we paid for. Sadly I don't expect them to make it right but it would have been better if the services offered were actually given. I won't be paying that price for that resort again.

I would have given it a 4 if not for the food. Overall the rooms, pool and beach area are very good. We stayed in the new wing and had a beautiful room facing the beach. The breakfasts, which you pay for in your room supplement, are mediocre at best and an embarrassment for any place claiming to be an upscale beach resort. We were told that the kitchen wasn’t equipped to handle the breakfast menu and would only be offering a buffet (they did have a breakfast menu but we were told that the kitchen wasn’t up to the task of handling it anymore). That may have been okay if the buffet were up to par. Instead it was less than you would get as a free breakfast at a Comfort Inn or Hampton Inn. Picture cold scrambled eggs in a chafing dish, soggy meats and toast. Not much more. The front desk told us that they have heard this complaint “a hundred times”. I guess Management doesn’t really care. Overall a good place, great location but I’d hesitate to come back unless they get their restaurant up to par.

Nice staff and good people that actually care if you have an issue. Brought me a fan and bottled water which was very nice and they’re polite. However my one complaint, the bed sheets are so thin which is fine because we’fe In Florida and this would make sense except for the fact that the blankets they give you when you ask for blankets are just as equally thin. Aside from that, it’s a great resort and the weather is lovely, the view is great, the staff is extremely nice. Loved staying here and will stay here again in future visits.

My husband and I attended a cocktail party, it was our first time visiting this place but certainly not the last. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the service was impeccable. We ordered a few appetizers and they were all very good. We are definitely coming back.

I booked a cocktail party for a group of 40 business associates at the Zota the first Saturday in February. The hotel's Modern design is outstanding and exceeded everyone's expectations. We spent most of our time outside the restaurant on the veranda over-looking the gulf and it was fabulous. My partners were still talking about it 2 weeks later. The staff was very accommodating and their attention to detail was top shelf. We will be coming back.

Absolutely amazing. Though it is pricey! The services are awesome. The workers care so much about your visit. In the winter the pools are heated very well. Great views of the beach. There are fun hammocks, and a private beach with sand toys and cabana rentals. The mandatory valet parking was a nuisance, even if it was well intentioned.

Had dinner at the resort. Everything was excellent. Our large party had a wide variety of dishes: seafood, lamb, appetizers, drinks, etc. Everyone thought their food was excellent. Prices are somewhat high but not crazy for the quality ($30 avg entree). Dining chairs were extra comfortable. Decor is modern and very well done. All the employees from the front door to the wait staff were very friendly and courteous. An excellent high end dining experience!

Very nice Hotel, access to the beach, pool, hot tub, gym with a view and full bar. I think the hotel needs more waitress at the pool, more bartenders and more waitress at the restaurant. We had to wait to much to be seated for breakfast, to have a drink at the pool and to have some food to our chairs. Besides that, I enjoyed this place. Check for nearby restaurants for breakfast.

Service was mediocre at best. We kept finding shards of glass on the floor in our room even after housekeeping cleaned, which is not ideal with a crawling baby. The shower had no water pressure. They don’t have enough luggage carts and no one to help with luggage. The restaurant is unorganized. Was sat at a table, ordered food and then told to leave (with 2 kids) because the restaurant was full with reservations and there was a misunderstanding amongst the staff. Very embarrassing. Definitely not family friendly. The hotel and pool area is nice. Would not stay again, especially for the price.

Very thoughtful staff. Beautiful and new grounds. Great bar, pool, beach and access to activities. Some of the heavy doors may be harder for those with accessibility needs. Parking is valet only.

Loved our stay here! So happy we found this place! Great new property and great location. The salad with lobster for lunch was delish. Thought my dinner was ok, a little heavy for me. I would recommend having 2 types of sleeping pillows, feather and non, so guests can choose what they prefer for a comfortable nights sleep.

I stayed in a room with a beautiful view of the beach. The room was very nice, and the bed was quite comfortable. All of the resort staff were fantastic. I really enjoyed my stay.

Very nice, modern resort. The only complaint I️ can honestly say there is from my experience is, the pool bar is lousy. Ordered margaritas and it was straight up syrup, ordered beers on multiple days and they were literally air temperature. After the first day of warm beer experiences, I️ asked if in fact the beer was cold. YES! says the kind bartender. I️ order two and sure enough, warm as the air. All in all the beach, the pool yard, rooms and staff are excellent.

Awesome place! Rooms are large and every room has a balcony. Food is fantastic and the staff are amazing. Huge hot tub and an infinity pool. Watch the sunset from the beach. Highly recommend.

We spent the day here with our 2 kids (3.5 YO and 5 months) and enjoyed every minute of it! The cabana's were convenient, the pool was perfect and had just enough shade for October 1 in Longboat Key! Everything was clean and well maintained. The food and drinks were great. I'd highly recommend this resort if you're looking for a great vacation or weekend staycation.

I read the reviews which seemed to make it seem like a great hotel. Our experience was far different. When we first arrived we learned we were not allowed to park our car. The gentleman "I use that term very loosely " opened the car door and asked for my keys. I told him I didn't want my car parked at that second and was going to check in. Reason being my wife and I had just drove 4 hours and wanted to go get something to eat. As I walked away the employee muttered angrily under his breath "I'm going to park your car either way" making my wife who was in the car very uncomfortable. There was a slight issue at check in but that was resolved. So after we got something to eat we returned to a different vallet parker who parked our car without issue. We went to spend the rest of the day at the beach and decided to order a drink. The Long Island IceTea we got was not able to be drank. Annoyed at that point we let it go. That night we found ants all over our hotel room. The next day we decided to go see different areas around Sarasota. Of course there is the same vallet parker we had issues with the day before. He became extremely condescending to us because we didn't have a ticket, which we were never given, to the point he told me to get my own keys. As he brought the car around he told us to "try to keep up with our ticket". When we returned he again was extremely rude and actually tried to bate me into an argument at the front door.

I took this picture from our balcony Mesmerizing! I love this Resort. I will recommend it to family and friends. I was here with my daughter, son in-law and my oldest grandson and we had a blast. Labor Day Weekend 2017 my best wishes and success to management and employees which were very friendly and attentive. From room service, restaurant, poolside servers, Beach attendee Osmany and James I think he was the Manager and so sorry Don't remember the name of the lady in front desk Sunday evening she recommended Chart House for dinner being we all wanted to eat outside the resort just by choice, she made the reservation for us we had VIP seats by the bay that and it was best food ever and we received a complimentary dessert because we were staying at Zota Resort. I do recommend Zota's Restaurant onsite Breakfast was delicious! Kudos to Zota Resort on LongBoat Key a Staycation to remember. Ivette A Falu.

Super friendly staff couldn't be more courteous, accommodating, knowledgeable and professional. They make you feel welcome. The property is gorgeous, with poolside bar and the beach just steps away. They also have a fabulous restaurant on site, try the Ribeye it's awesome cooked perfectly… I will definitely be coming back here again…! Good luck Zota Beach Resort, you're gonna do well…

First, the bad news… sad to say this resort has promise, but our first experience was not so great. Parking was a nightmare. The solution to offer valet parking commentary was well thought out but was still inconvenient. Also, when we went to our car where it was parked, we found it unlocked. The restaurants didn't communicate with each other very well as we had an awkward experience ordering something they told us we could get upstairs but wasn't on the menu upstairs. In addition to that, all orders except for one came out incorrect. At one point one of the employees came out and said to our 10 year old, "I know you ordered blueberry pancakes, but I brought out plain. Is that ok? " Lastly, service was extremely slow. Now for the good! We would love to give this place another chance. The employees had amazing attitudes. We loved the contemporary styling. Everything is new and clean. The location is amazing and the views are spectacular. This resort certainly has phenomenal potential. Maybe they're just going through growing pains since they're so new so we'd really like to try this place again in the future. For now we give it 2 out of 5 stars.

A (++) for service, location & LGBT friendly Our stay: 07/16-07/21 Room:613 I'm  surprised at the previous reviews. I'm glad our experience was the complete opposite of negative reviews. We were greeted by Lisa as we entered for check in. She was very friendly and gave us the BEST room in the house. Our room had a full view of  the Gulf Of Mexico and partial view of the pool. Our room was spotless. We had an electrical and plumbing issue. It was handled in less than 15 minutes. I'll be reserving room  613 for our next stay. If you can't get room 613, go for 513, 413 or 313 (full gulf views). The pool was clean everyday during our stay. Lounge chairs were very comfortable.   The pool attendant set up our chairs with the chair covers and towels during each visit. They also came by periodically to see if we needed our towels changed. We ate lunch by the pool several times. The food is your typical bar food; flatbreads, sandwiches, salads and wings.   The only negative comment I would have is the alcoholic drinks. The mixed drinks tasted watered down and  reminded me of cough syrup (not good). For $10.00, we expected better. However, the Cascades pool staff were very attentive. Megan was great. She always had a smile and checked on my wife and I multiple times.   We chatted with Leo who is the manager of the cabana boys and pool attendants.   He stopped and made sure we were enjoying our stay and to make sure the pool attendants were doing a good job.   They were!

I had the ultimate privilege of spending the weekend at the newly open Zota Beach Resort. In one word — wow! I speak from experience — I have traveled and lived all around the world and have stayed at many exclusive grand resorts. This property quite possibly tops them all. An impeccable contemporary design. Fabulous food and drinks. Amazing staff. All of that and you are literally steps from the stunning turquoise waters and white beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. If you live in Florida — forget the plane — jump in your car and go to Zota. If you don't live in Florida — jump on that plane, bus, train… however you get there, just get there! It will be one of the best decisions you ever made.

Just opened. Great new modern Beach Resort. All the amenities. Infinity pool, spa, direct beach access, beach chairs, cabanas, umbrellas. The food at Viento Kitchen & Bar is amazing. The poolside bar, Cascades Pool Bar has plenty of seating on both sides. Rooms, bed, etc. Have plenty of room. BTW, they have Chromecast on the TV. Stream your photos, videos, etc. Great find in Long Boat Key. We are visiting from Orlando, and well worth a 2 hour drive. We found our new vacation spot.
