Review of Regency Inn & Suites - Saint Augustine 2*

Its not worth the hassle. Spend a few extra bucks and go somewhere decent. We stayed in a room upstairs 221 or 211 something like that for 2 nights. I called 3 weeks in advance to make the reservation and asked for a Jacuzzi tub because we were going to be there for my birthday. I was told she reserved a king size room with a Jacuzzi tub for me at a rate of fifty something a night. When we arrived the woman at the front desk (larger rude woman) charged us for sixty something a night. Still not a bad price. We went to our room which was kind of far from the stairs (no elevator) as we passed the ice machine I noticed a sign on it saying something like dont take too much ice. Come to find out the machine didn't even work in the first place. When we got into our room it was hot and sticky and smelt like mold so we kicked on the air (which didn't make the smell any better) in the room was a king size bed, two dressers on either side of the bed a tiny table and a dresser in front of the bed under the tv. No couch no chair no desk nothing. The bed had an unfinished comforter on it with a sheet (and pillows). Thats it! there wasn't even a fitted sheet on the bed! when I lifted the sheet there were hairs in the mattress and weaved into the pillow cases and crums all in the mattress cracks. So gross! the sink area was a little weird too. Just looked unclean in general and the bathroom was really tiny maybe 3x5 not including the tub? the toilet wouldn't flush at all until we took off the top of it to let the suction cup rise. (idiots installed it) and the floor was really sticky like it has never been cleaned properly. Oh and the bath tub. It was not what I asked for. I called the front desk and complained and she told me there was nothing in my reservation saying I would get a Jacuzzi tub and she would love to give me one at no charge but there arent any available for the next 2 days and the rate I got was actually cheaper then a normal weekend rate so I should be happy. I told her I wanted a different room and she said they're all taken and just kept rambling on about how she doesnt have any proof that I spoke with someone before about the tub and kept cutting me off when I tried to talk. I then told her I would like to speak with a manager and she said managers dont work weekends so he wont be back till Monday and to call then. I was very very disappointed by her rude behavior and disrespect. The next morning the breakfast they had was frosted flakes and cheerios. Bananas. And an apple roll thing. Thats all. We went else where for food and drinks. The only good part about this place is the indoor heated pool. Although the rooms are all outdoors so even after getting out you have to walk through the cold weather to get back to your room. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
