It's not a family oriented place that I'd recommend. It's more for workers needing a place to stay overnight. During our 11 day stay here we discovered that if your staying for more than a few days you're only entitled to cleaning services twice a week. They had guests who seemed to be having wild parties and smoking right outside our rooms constantly. Their electrical plug-ins really need to be updated. The lamp electric cords kept barely holding in. Fire hazard waiting to happen. Strange men going around trying to get into our rooms and other rooms. Front desk clerk bless her heart went out to see if she could locate them. Air conditioning kicks out between 12 am until about 4 am. Maintenance came to both rooms and repeatedly tried to fix the problem but it persistently returned. Our showers always came with the surprise cold to hot bursts. Don't recommend you walking across the floor barefoot, if so wash your feet again before getting into your bed. On the pro side. For the most part wonderful sweet staff who did their best to be helpful. Five stars to you girls. It's very budget friendly just not so much family friendly. If you're there to party this may be the place for you.

It has a lot of rooms. All the buildings are connected through the hallway from the front office till the end of the hotel. Some buildings had two floors and another one had only two. It is an open hotel, no elevator. Only one ramp in the 2 floor building, and that, I like. They only have ONE cart to bring your luggage and the pet zone that they have it is awful. There is only one tree and the bushes that they have has spikes on them. Anywhere else is good to Take your pet other than their assigned place. They do not have a store, only a vending machine… other than all that everything was good :) p. S. They have free cookies for your pet at the office!

The staff is friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and exactly as advertised. The bed was comfortable and the ac cold. The breakfast options aren't great, and they ran out of coffee on a Saturday morning, but there are lots of nearby options to grab breakfast. The parking lot is a little confusing but it's a good value and I'd stay here again.

The beds are enough to sink into. The rooms are smoke free. Pretty good soundproofing from other rooms and the doors do not slam shut. The price is actually really great considering just 2 hours away they want triple the price. I did have a few issues though. It's unfortunate the TV remote was having issues connecting, the toilet handle had to be pushed down hard and held to flush, and the shower handle you had to have serious strength to turn on and no way to get it to shut off — so continuous drip all night. Those are all so easily fixable that in unsure why it hasn't been handled. It's also the only hotel I've been to that didn't offer at least a small refrigerator. The bed next to the air unit is too close so it blows directly into your face causing dry eyes and freezing face. I used my extra pillows to create a wall. Again, a simple problem to fix as the room is large enough to shift things a bit. I didn't get a chance to use any amenities. Overall for the price you're paying it's an excellent choice to stay at.

The location is right next to the highway. So easy to get where you gotta go. The are nice as they are renovating. The personnel at the front desk is always friendly to help. The breakfast could be better.

Great location right off the interstate, we got a large room with a king sized bed. The complimentary breakfast had cereal fruit yogurt hot coffee Bagels and a variety of other stuff everything was fresh and good. The room was super clean. The only drawback was that the hotel is older. So if your tired and want a great free complimentary breakfast and can Overlook the older building great place to stay!

Large facility. Has had better days, unfortunately. Right next to the highway still quiet. Clean but older. We were in transit here. Was OK for one night and cheap.

Nothing to fancy here but considering the price it is well worth it. Room was clean and a. C. Worked great. Water took a while to get hot but after running for several minutes it finally was hot enough for a shower. Beds were comfortable but small for two people. Pillows were to expansive, so bring your own pillows. Pet friendly and not to far away from FSU.

Great experience so far with our stay. We were originally only planning on staying two nights, but we ended up having a medical emergency for my dog and he needed surgery so we had to extend our stay for 6 nights and Brandy and Robin were both very accommodating at helping us with that! Still here till Monday and having a great experience despite being stuck here on these terms.

Not sure what to expect after reading all the reviews… Actually considered cancelling our reservation even though it was already after midnight. So glad that we didn't! Clean room, newer mattresses, great shower… Etc… Since we arrived so late (with a German Shepherd), we expected to here all of the cars/people leaving early in the morning while we slept. Not an issue at all. Great room. Great price.

The front desk was good, very easy and quick to get a room, there was water on the bathroom floor which was the first thing I noticed when I walked in. The beds are soft and cozy, nicely made. I got a two bed room and it was pretty nice. I mean, you can't expect it to be resort quality, but it's great for just staying a night to sleep off a big day of driving. 3 stars is pretty good…

There are some things you can't fix with a coat of paint. Overall this place wasn't as gross as I expected due to reviews but it wasn't clean either. The bed was comfy. The sink looked clean. Toilet was ok. There was no way I was taking s shower there. The floor was uneven under the carpet. There were boogers in the drapery by the bed and the room smelled. I passed on breakfast altogether. It reminds me of one of those seedy hotels in the movies where bad people hide out at.

So I did stay here for one night and honestly for the price I did not expect too much. La Quinta is my go-to hotel and I have seen more in better condition however it definitely was worth the money. The staff was extremely friendly. Only downside was there was not a hot breakfast in the morning. Still enjoyed it though thank you!

The rooms were nice, however they smelled like cleaning products. There was a ramp to the second floor which is a great accessibility. I was very glad that they allowed pets as well. The Wi-Fi wasn't strong and does need improvement.

My goodness. On initial check in, all that was available was smoking rooms. The first room I went to was missing the mattress and bedding. There was box spring mattress, I'll give them that. Also, there was a complimentary Trojan prophylactic left by the previous occupant in the center of the box spring at that. The second room was in fair condition. It contained roaches.

Good hotel for the price. Just make sure you book in advance. Also it's awesome that they are pet friendly! Good luck finding a better pet friendly one. The breakfast was not that great but it was breakfast. But overall good price and good location next to I 10.

Staff was competent. Rooms are dated, but they are remodeling a few rooms at a time. Saw two bugs in the room. 2 restaurants within reasonable walking distance. It was quiet and favorably priced.

The room was spacious, relatively clean, pet friendly with no additional charge. My biggest complaint is the colony of homeless people close to the edge of the parking lot. After discovering this & reporting to manager, she told us there was nothing they could do about it, although there had been numerous complaints previously. There were no on property security guards. Although room was comfortable & relatively clean, wouldn't stay there again due to this on property threat & lack of managerial concern. Will post photos of the area later.

Super friendly staff. Very helpful with my asks. Did not stay the night so cannot comment on the rooms. Location was a bit of of the way.

I made these reservations for my husband and I let the front desk know that it would be a late check in so please do not let his room go. He arrived around 2:30 Saturday morning, was given a room on the third floor, opened the door to find this room was filthy and was not cleaned from the night before. He went back down to the front desk and was placed in a new room. Our weekend was crazy, in town for a wedding, and today was the first day I had time to call and address this situation. Also to see why we still had a hold on our credit card for incidentals… I called the front desk and spoke to someone about the hold and was told it should be coming off because it was released on their end… which was understandable. I then wanted to address the filthy room he was checked into. I expressed my concerns to her and she never once said I’m so sorry this happened, this sort of thing never happens, I see it in the notes… not a word… nothing… nothing at all. So she then decides to tell me if I’m calling to get something… then that’s when I interrupted her… No I’m not calling to reimbursed to get something for free… if that was the case I would have said that… I’m calling because obviously this was swept underneath the rug and was not dealt with and this looks bad on a business. We stay in La Quinta all of the time and have wonderful experiences and this stay was very disappointing. If proper protocols are not followed then how can things be fixed and corrected?

Came from the motel 6 across the street which was a hell whole. But this place was great. Nice rooms and beds, clean and comfy especially for the price. The staff was nice and the breakfest was good. If your looking for a good clean room with nice staff and comfortable bed for a good price this place is where to go.

Wonderful hotel! Older hotel, but very clean and reasonably priced. I left a toiletry bag hanging on the back of the bathroom door. Robin contacted me as soon as housekeeping found it and had it overnighted via FedEx to our next destination. That's why we stay at La Quinta Inns. Always great service.

Dog friendly with a very helpful staff. Great swimming pool. Somewhat older, but well maintained for the most part. The elevator did make some interesting noises with opening and closing of the door, but operated reliably when I used it to move luggage to and from the upper floor.

The hotel is a little older. On the plus side, the rooms are large and in good condition. The exterior is is getting to the point of needing some major maintenance. However, the price was clearly set to consider this. Overall it was a great bargain. Kids loved the pool.

My wife and I are staying in a Tallahassee location due to us needing to find a house because we relocated on military orders and requested the non-smoking room because neither her or I smoke. We got to our room, in which we are staying for 7 days, and it smells like smoke and some type of aerosol spray that is supposed to cover it up. I am disgusted with this hotel. Its old, disgusting, and falling apart. There are huge stains on the floor and on the furniture, they refused to clean. They lost our information and knocked on the door at 1am to ask about the room because they showed they don't have it booked tonight, so at 1am they come strolling up cause we are usually up partying like the rest of the hotel apparently, we were sleeping… People are loud and on the balcony drinking and smoking weed and cigarettes. Security didn't do anything to calm them down when we called so we have had lack of sleep since being here. We can hear every little thing that goes on outside, so there is no sleeping in, and worst of all, the toilets being flushed next to us and above us, we can hear all of it, including the showers. It is a horrible experience and we will never be back.

Stayed over last minute, stopped middle of the night. The Night Auditor was actually friendly! Room was decent, and seemed clean. Breakfast was muffin, fuit, pancakes, juice and coffee, which was actually good! Reasonable rate.

The room was nice and the Wi-Fi was actually free. The only issue was that the bathtub needed to be drainoed.

Redflag Redflag!. I was disappointed with the room. I was traveling with my children and will never stay in a La Quinta anywhere. The tub was backed up, the door key worked when it wanted to, ac did not work, the room smelt like wet carpet/ mold. Thankfully it was for 1 night and I did not need the room past 7am. If I could give this hotel zero stars, I would have chosen that instead of the 1 star.

The grounds were covered in June bugs but hey, it's June. Bugs happen. The ton was clean, beds comfortable, shower hot, breakfast was crowded, but good. I was pleased with this visit.

Room was good. No smell! Staff was friendly. Pool area looked good too. Pet friendly! We would stay there again.

This is a Feb 2016 review… 10 years ago La Quinta WAS a really nice hotel, but to date it's awful, there's no type of upkeep cleaning on the rooms so don't plan on fresh sheets and a made bed if you stay for several days. Also the company it keeps around the outside are homeless people, heavy drug users & hoodlums. No thanks!

Well worth the money. Beds a little small. Bathroom small but not unexpected. Wout saty there again.

Tiffany, a poorly trained hotel staff member who works the check in desk, argues and criticises her guest for booking on third party websites and likes to raise her voice and interrupt when being asked a question to only give irrelevant answers that don't solve the issues at hand. I don't know why she is in hospitality if she prefers to use sarcastic remarks and attitude to serve her guest. Maybe this hotel would be better served by an employee who understands that hotels, hopitality, and GOOD customer service all go hand in hand. I guess La Quinta Inn didn't send out that memo or include not being a moron in the employee handbook.

We just needed a place to spend the night after traveling a whole day. We booked last minute, the location was perfect. The biggest issue was the front desk person. It was 2am when we arrived and she made us very aware of the time. She didn't have the crib we requested because she stated the motel was at full capacity but then wouldn't give us a second key because she only had 3 left. My husband then tried to joke with her asking if she was having a long night and she snapped back by saying now she was because we arrived and it was 2am then told us she could refuse to give us our room and put it down as a no show even though I had already checked in. I asked to see a copy of a refusal policy but never received one. I was really tired and didn't want to deal with her attitude anymore so I just went to my room. After arriving in my room I went back and asked for extra linens but was told they didn't have any, which didn't surprise me. I travel a lot and have never encountered a vote staff member as rude as "Tiffany". Never again.

Is nothing but a classic motel on 3 floors, uncomfortable, ugly and dirty. Nothing to do with the classic La Quinta.

For the price and everything I give La Quinta Inn Tallahassee North FIVE STARS — ONLY PROBLEM was finding the room. The lower floor is Floor # 4 the second floor is Floor # 1 and the third and fourth floors are Floor # 2 and Floor # 3. If this was my motel I would rename all the floors. The lower Floor would be Floor A then B C and then the top floor would be Floor D.

I'm a big fan of La Quinta but this property lacks of cleanliness. The elevator's floor and walls were dirty which I'm surprise because every property I've been it is always nice and clean, but to top it off as we enter our room at 3:00 am in the morning, beat up from driving long hours, we found the toilet full of brown stuff on the walls which I don't want to go into details as you can picture what that was. I don't like to generalize but some of the staff need more training on how to treat their guess since I was treated very rude by one of them. As I was writing this I got a call from the manager apologizing for all the inconvenience and assuring me that he was going to set things straight. This is why I'm giving 2 stars because they seem to care.

Arrived about 7:30 PM. All was well until woken up about 10:30 PM by shouting and things being banged around upstairs. Police finally arrived and broke up domestic violence. One arrest. Huge cockroach in shower. A/C couldn't keep up. Finally decided to leave about midnight. Very poor quality. Will never make the mistake of putting my family up at this establishment again.

Great location with spacious, clean rooms! La Quinta is one of the best inns in Tallahassee that offers very affordable prices. Highly recommended for your next trip to Tallahassee!

My family of 4 stayed here for a week (husband was working in the area) and we fully enjoyed our stay! The people at the front desk and every staff member we met during our stay were very helpful and cheerful! Housekeeping wasn't exactly the best beings how they only came to our room once during the stay but the front desk never gave me trouble when I asked for clean towels and liens (twice). The hotel doesn't have the best "curb appeal" but I noticed where updates and improvements are being made (painting, small renovations, new furniture etc. ) the pool was excellent and was well kept, breakfast was average but staff were eger to help and assist with any help you needed. We didn't bring pets but the hotel is pet friendly yet I never noticed any odors. All in all great place for the price and excellent convient location for food and shopping!

Shady, scary motel. The front desk people are nice enough (like Eddie) but maintenance and housekeeping are clearly poorly managed and trained. I stayed there 5 nights. # of times my room was vacuumed: 0 (same debris on the floor) # of times the tables were wiped: 0 # of nights my room smelled like cigarettes: 5 # of bugs I saw crawling on towels and linen: 2 # of homeless in the area: Too many # of abandoned buildings: 2 OTOH, the bed was great and the TV/Cable was excellent. Wifi worked every day. Not the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, but close. Bottom 5% for sure.

This place is TOTALLY FINE! No it is not the Ritz but the front desk is absolutely lovely, the sheets and pool are clean, and its safe and sunny. I liked it and will definitely come back.

Very disappointed. The rooms felt dirty, musty, and humid. The A/C never really cooled the room down and it was in the 60s all weekend. Windows were broken so fresh air was out of the question. Had to leave the door propped open when I could to get fresh air into the room. The breakfast is dismal. This LQ does not have the make-your-own waffles as in other LQs. The breakfast area is miniscule relative to the number of rooms at this particular hotel. There are maybe half-dozen tables for hundreds of guests. Just getting coffee in the morning is an exercise in claustrophobia. And the piece de resistance was to discover upon arriving home (five hours later) that I had left several of my husband's t-shirts in a drawer, in the room. I immediately called and Josh went to look for them, only to discover that they were not there and had not been turned in to lost and found. Waited for a call back the next day, which I did not receive so I called the hotel. The man that answered the phone, Johnny, reaffirmed that the shirts were not logged in to the lost and found, but assured me that "his employees do not steal". I stressed to him that the shirts had to be there when the room was cleaned unless of course they spontaneously combusted. The point is not the t shirts, but what if I had left a camera, or a laptop, or a piece of jewelry instead? It is the principle of the matter. Not that it matters, but I am an Elite LQ member, meaning that I always stay at LQs when I travel.

Ok, this place might not look like much, but the rooms were clean, everything worked and the people were the nicest, coolest, most helpful people ever! They make me wish I could be traveling through there all the time.

Nothing to brag about! Rates were ok, room smelled, beds were fairly comparable. No coffee in lobby until after 6 (there are coffee makers in the rooms). Free breakfast consist of a microwave and stuff in packages, boiled eggs, no grill.

I had a little incident of my assigned room found to be left with the TV on, the beds disheveled, towels on the floor, and a kitty litter container in the bathroom. Housecleaning apparently missed this one, but the front desk quickly gave me another room. The breakfast was sub-par but as expected for the price of the hotel. My room was not bad, but didn't give the impression of necessarily being the freshest. The bathrooms are due for renovation. I had no issues with noise. There is one elevator and it can be quite a distance from your room if yours is on a far outside wing. It turned out that there were insufficient AC outlets available and/or of easy access causing me to have to use the AC outlet in the bathroom in order to use the clothes iron. I had to have the ironing board part way in the bathroom for the cord to reach. This hotel is not indoor corridor access, it is outside room access. The WI-FI worked fine, but the LAN connection did not. The phone did not work causing me to have to walk to the front desk from the back side of the hotel just to ask where the guest laundry was located. NOTE TO BUSINESS TRAVELERS: In the event that you are a business traveler who needs to wash a uniform or the like, there is NO guest laundry at this hotel. There is a 24Hr-laundromat about five miles south from this location, but they do not take cash.

Acceptable for the price. In town, doing research at Tall Timbers — the room is clean, the water is hot and, most importantly, the bathroom is clean. Only complaints — stains on the shower curtains (weird. ) and no fitness area?! The outdoor pool is heated but with the air temperature in the 50s, that's not good enough. Wi-Fi is sluggish but reliable. Outlets are loose but fully functional. My advisor complained of a musty smell in his room but the postdoc and I haven't noticed anything in ours.

It's an older LaQuinta. We've been a fan of this chain for 20 years and stay with them for business travel 20 states over 100 nights a year. While I'm generally 100% satisfied with :La Quinta as a whole, I will say that this location is bare minimum basic but it's a good price. The worst complaint I have — the rooms in this particular location are dirty — they don't dust the furnishings regularly, the carpets need a thorough cleaning, etc. I carry spray cleaner in my suitcase and in every room I've ever stayed in in this hotel I spray the night tables, dressers, etc. And get pure black debris on my rag. It appears housekeeping does the very minimum with clean sheets, clean towels, and I can only hope they actually sanitize the bathroom and vanity — wouldn't bet on it though. This isn't a long-stay location but overnight it's a 100 times better than Craptel 6.
