Review of Quality Inn & Suites Mt Dora North 2*

Our trucking company reimburses drivers for rooms at Choice Hotels while we wait for a load so we can do laundry, get a hot shower and relax. This hotel is near our main office so is the go to by most of the drivers. Sometimes we will be there the entire stay and other times only a few hours. This is not my first rodeo been a driver for 30 years and have stayed here as has many of my coworkers. But tonight Friday June 10, 2016 will be our last and will ensure our company and other drivers are aware. We checked in at 3:00 pm by a lovely woman who was helpful and knew how to do her job well but our load was ready by 11:00pm so my wife went to check us out and get our receipt. Now there is a man on duty and he says he can't give us a receipt but will email one. Wife tells him we need it to get reimbursed since our company is nearby and I have NEVER left a hotel without getting my receipt so my card can be charged and finalized. After 20 minutes of back and forth he gave her a receipt telling her it was going to mess his accounting up since he usually does reconciliation at 4:00 am and we leave finally receipt in hand. At 5:30am we receive an alert on our phone for a charge on our card for $160.38 from Quality Inn and Suites an obvious double charge for our room which was $80.19 so my wife calls and this same rude man tells her our bank put a hold on our card and won't even listen to her or check for a double charge said we had to wait 3-5 days for the extra $80.19 hold to be removed by our bank BS. We stay in lots of hotels and NEVER has our bank put a hold or preauthorized more than the charge for the reservation. So now I have to go dispute the charge with my credit card and the bank. Inept, rude and shady as heck. Never again and our company said never again! BEWARE!
