50.00 instead of 20.00. It pet friendly but it was not
all though site was updated 2018. Call first to make sure that you know everything. Up front.

This place is absolutely disgusting. If I could give no stars I would. There were cockroaches crawling on the walls and dead all over the floor. The room wasn’t properly cleaned. The mattress had mold on it. The TV didn’t work. The staff was rude: “it’s a cheap motel, you get what you paid for. ” The manager didn’t understand why I was upset that were cigarette burns in the comforter. They had to move another bed into the room and it never got a set of sheets or a comforter or pillows. The water was dingy and yellow and had rust fragments in it. The SINGLE light fixture is held together with black electrical tape. The pictures of this motel falsely advertise it. There is black mold everywhere (see pictures below). In short, sleep in your car.

I checked in on September the 8th 2018 and I checked out on September the 8 2018 the place was filthy the TV didn't work there were stains all over the carpeting the bath tub was supposed to be white but it was actually it like a dark dingy Gray. The toilet looked like It had rustin it. I asked for the ice machine and they told me that it was gonna cost me $2 for a 10 pound bag of ice I said I only need maybe one pound to get me through the night and they said well what he expect this hotel only cost $50 a night it you go anywhere else it's gonna cost you a lot more over a 100. I asked for non smoking room and when I went in there it's Smelt like cigarrette smoke, I quit 3 years ago and now can't stand smoke. I'm glad I did get a refund because their signs posted everywhere no refunds. I hit the road Jack and I aint looking back never again.

Not much to look at but especially considering the price, I am quite pleased. Haven't been here long, but so far so good. Room isn't bad, fridge and Microwave and bfast too. Super friendly ppl but Get takeout before u get here for sure.

Good and clean place for the price and for resting 1 night! Room rate includes breakfast, served from 6:30 to 8:30, next to the receptionist (I not yet tried as I left early in the morning). Great deal!

This is a decent place, but you get what you pay for. The pool is empty, the parking lot is uneven and full of weeds. The first room I went to smelled so bad I asked to be moved. The second room wasn't much better. I wore sandals in the shower. There was alit of noise in the adjoining rooms. I got the impression that the staff lived at the motel, there were lots of long term residents, and several people mentioned the local Cafe Risque. The proximity to the interstate makes it very noisy. But it is cheap, the sheets were clean, the staff friendly, and the location convenient.

We had two rooms in February on our way from Minnesota to St. Pete. We checked all four beds. No bugs. Clean bedding. Warm shower. Tv. About as much as you can ask for with the fair prices. And conviently right off 75. The Pool was not open but was in the process of reopening I think I read. At night there was a few people hanging around outside but everyone seemed nice. We visited historic downtown of micanopy home of the River and Joaquin Phoenix family. And filming location of Doc Hollywood with michael j Fox. We also visited Payne prairie reserve! Our visit and stay in micanopy Florida was over all a great time!

Only stay here as a last resort or if a cheap place is your only consideration. We had to play musical rooms three times before we found one that was acceptable. By that I mean it had a working AC and had been fully cleaned (I use that term loosely. ) It's the kind of place you pray you won't get bed bugs or have roaches crawling out of the drains.

After reading all the bad reviews, expected the worst but figured for the crazy cheap rates, I couldn't lose. Pleasantly surprised & would have given it a better rating if the Wi-Fi signal wasn't so bad. When I called the front desk to inquire about it, it was explained they're on satellite & apologized for the inconvenience. Even the TV reception scrambled whenever there were clouds or I assume, a bird flew nearby. Aside from that, found ALL the employees more than helpful & personable, the atmosphere pleasant, the overall feeling safe & secure. Room was fine, bathroom clean & comparable to a room 2 X the price. Quiet property, close to the freeway. Cool old town & historic cemetery nearby. 10 minutes away from Gainesville. I understand it's under new management & didn't find one issue brought up by all those negative reviews. Glad I didn't pay attention to them. Got to spend 2 peaceful nights here for the price of 1 night elsewhere.

Didn't give 5 bc it's not a 5 star but the employees and other guest here was wonderful… I would stay again. Does need some work but they are renovating. So I know when they're done it will be great.

This place is a joke… Workers are rude property is trashed we made a reservation to save us from any troubles well booking here is what started all of our problems front desk people should be welcoming they shouldn't be on a personal phone call laughing that someone is drunk… Would not even recommend this place to someone I couldn't stand… FYI if you are unfortunate enough to book here make sure you take some kind of ID even for your minors otherwise they can't stay in the room.

We loved staying here. The workers are wonderful. Yes it may be a lil old, but it's not nasty. We enjoyed it.

Guys… there is nothing around. The rooms were mostly clean, I think. The area I didn't feel unsafe, but for real would probably not chose it again. The front desk chick was nice but had some personal drama and was actually gone when I got there. They had cable. It seemed like it was a recycled motel. Like everything there was used before. I was in room 106… not at the Marriot. Not in room 2003. Oh and you can't dial zero for the front desk.

Decent little place to stay. Needs a little work and pest control needs to be kept up with. They were attentive to take care if things. I will stay again if I'm in the area.

The staff here was very helpful. However this place is hard to see at night time off the interstate. If you're looking for a comfortable place to stay I 100% recommend this place.

Worst place EVER. Pool was empty. Checked in power in room not all working. Got a different room same thing power not working. Got third room. Wow. The floors so stained. Hole in wall I pushed a cup into incase there was a camera in there. No fire detector. But the power worked so I kept it. Dropped off stuff and went out. Back at 10pm. Wife and I and toddler went to bed. Woke at 2am Toddler could hardly breathe crying my throat raspy and sore as well as my wife. Called standby nurse hotline on my insurance. Jumped in bathroom with hot water running for 15 minutes. We got out fast. Now 29 hours later my daughter voice not smooth. My voice little ruff sounding. Wife is the best out of us and I think because she was in bed away from AC. Today Christmas. Tomorrow doctors appointment for all 3 of us. Scary. First thought daughter was choking on something. Told to check for any blueish color on lips or face. If so directly to ER or call 911.

Perhaps the best way to describe my views of my recent stay: I got what I paid for, and then some. Having car troubles on the interstate and facing possibility of being stranded for Christmas, I got in touch with friendly clerk here in the early-morning hrs and knew I had safe place to stay. Convenient to interstate and nearby mechanic, experience was all I needed it to be.

The room we stayed in wasn't that bad. If you are looking for cheap and aren't wanting to spend that much this would be the place. The only thing that was wrong with our room is that there was water on the bathroom floor when we walked in. And the tiles to the ceiling need to be replaced. But the beds were so comfortable! And felt like we were sleeping on a cloud. The guy who checked us in and out was the same person. He was only there for 4days as a newbie and he was very polite and very kind. I think his name was Jaesae or something like that. Can't remember how to spell his name. All in all our experience was great! Just needed to fix the ceiling tiles.

Wow! Where to start? The first room we were put in only one of the lights worked, and the TV did not. We got put in the room next door which was a little better, but still no working light over the only mirror in the room. The policies here are wild. You only get a refund after check in if you leave in the first 5 min. They limit the number of each item you can have at breakfast. If they catch you with a pet they charge you $500 and kick you out (but someone had a dog in their room on the first floor). No visitors. You'll be charged as if they were also renting a room. Your car will be towed if you don't leave a piece the pass they give you on the dash of your car. The rooms were clean enough, and they brought towels every morning. The sheets are comfy, the lady at the desk was short with us. Smells a little smokey, and you can smell weed if you're outside at night. The cleaning lady was nice. Won't be staying there again.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The place is run by a bunch of toothless drug addicts! The first room we checked into the sheets on the 2nd bed had not been changed and were full of body fluids. The room we were moved to had carpet from the 1970's with cigarette burns all over and there was a cockroach leg by the bathtub. One of the permanent tenants was up all night dealing out of his room. Also, after showing the clerk our service dog credentials they tried to charge us $500 on our credit card and when that didnt work tried to charge $100. This is against the law! The place is filthy and a trap house. Go a little further to La Quinta. It may be an extra $20 but the hotel is beautiful with a really nice breakfast and was CLEAN!

Everytime I go through Gainesville I stay here I love this Little hotel the rooms are always clean and cheap never have I ever had a problem here.

One of the units had a shard broken glass window and the bedspread had holes in it and there were a few cockroaches walking around the floor. The smell of freebreeze to cover the old smoke smells could put someone into an asthma attack. I needed to stay one night and left as soon as daylight arrived. Quickly!

Here for work, no affordable place to sleep in Gainesville due to football game. Can't even lie I was scared to death to come here, but check in lady was very nice, the bed sheets in RM 109 are to die for seriously! Yes place is old and run down but they are trying to fix it up. Room was clean, smelled fresh, AC and TV works well. Wifi lacking, would suggest a personal hot spot if you need to work on comp or play on your phone. I did the bed bug and roach check and none in this room! Towels and linen smelled fresh, yes I smelled them! So, for a place to sleep for a night, it was ok for me.

Nice place, seen three deers walking around, bringing it back to par better place to stay now clean and fresh smelling.

This is a terrifying truck stop disguised as a motel. It's worth going into Gainesville, since you'd pay the same price without risking your health.

Great spot for the money. I'm working out of town and staying here for at least a month. It's quiet, comfy and does the job. I am happy!

I wish I could give zero stars, but I guess 1 star is due to the very nice and helpful lady behind the counter who FINALLY helped us find a pet-friendly hotel. As for the OTHER woman behind the desk—well, there are words to describe the kind of person she is, but we don’t want our review to get flagged. After being stranded in the Micanopy/Gainesville area due to an RV repair, we walked up to this run-down motel with our small dog in tow, to ask if we could get a room and if they were pet-friendly. Before we could even reach the exterior of the hotel lobby, this horrible woman saw us and sneered, and we were greeted with an onslaught of insufferable rudeness. She: “You lookin’ for a room? ” Us: “Yes. ” She: “Well, we don’t accept pets, so don’t bring that dog onto our property or you’ll be fine $500 and you’ll be asked to leave. ” This was the NICEST thing she said. I stayed far outside with the dog while my husband went into the office and tried to explain our situation. She wouldn’t listen; she just kept getting ruder and nastier. Evil. Finally, a nice young woman came to the desk and directed us to a pet-friendly hotel. Imagine! … this young woman did something actually CONSTRUCTIVE. That OTHER woman… she does not deserve to work in ANY customer service position. She was one of the rudest people we have ever met and deserves to be fired. Do not waste your money on this place. It’s horrible.

Everything is good for the price. Only downside is slow internet and TV goes out when it rains… dish tv. Ladies at desk are really nice and helpful. Fresh clean towels daily. Oh yea love the bed sheets! So soft & comfy!

Can't say I've experienced anything like that before… the front desk rep was extremely kind during the fiasco of sending us to room with no air conditioning working, then unknowingly sent us to unmade room THEN to room that had A/C but was just dirty. No trash can in the room. Shower drain didn't work. The entire experience was frightening. Thank you front desk rep for trying to be professional under unprofessional management/ownership.

Considering the price, it was great. Definitely needs to be updated and no frills, but beds were clean.

Pool was drained but had green water at the bottom. Pool chairs stacked in corner, rooms smelled like possible mold, nails in the wall but no pictures, bugs, just a awful place that should be kncoked down and rebuilt.

It was a horrible experience. My boyfriend and I walked in and quickly walked right out. The floor was disgusting, there was mold in the shower, the water came out of the faucet yellow, there was blood on the sheets, the lights did not work. The staff was nice but I will never stay here.

This place is a bed big roach haven! When the manager was informed of the bed bugs. They shrugged it off and said they knew about it. There was blood on the carpet, wall, bed and even the toilet seat! The sink was filthy as were the doors and walls. Plus there were bullet holes in the doors! Management came into the room when we were gone! They were busted by cigarette smoke. The tub was broken and filthy. Don't waste your health staying here!

The only reason this place gets 1 star is due to the great customer service at the front desk. Other than that the location is very sketchy, with the other customers looking extremely questionable. I am not one to care most of the time, but this motel was pretty scary and Micanopy is just as bad, half of the town is unlit and completely abandoned at night with not a single 24/7 gas station in the vicinity, the room was stained everywhere with stains on the sheets, the bathroom curtain had mold on half of it, the carpet was stained and had two giant roaches appear within a one night period, I have been to many "bad" motels but this one is just something else. I was regretting the location from the moment I got off the highway and was so happy to leave, will never come back.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was good. The beds comfortable. Minor things or would be 5 stars the staff were awesome. Perfect for what I needed.

Customer service is good. Room is not too clean. Hair can be found on pillows.

Can hear the interstate from rooms, not very clean, cockroaches inside. On the plus side if you're into going to a place to eat while watching adult entertainment it's across the road. Me and my wife didn't make the adventure but due to bad weather it was better than driving.

Dirty place had to sleep on top of comforter. Had I not been up for 21hrs would have slept in truck. Afraid to take shoes off and water was cloudy! Would NOT recommend this place for anyone.

Hands down the sweetest people I ever ran into. It was my first time traveling alone for school and Kim made me feel very safe and comfortable. Yes the place is a little outdated but still livable. I stayed for 3 nights and everyday I got back to my room it was clean without me needing to ask like most places. Breakfast by the way was really good too. Hands down the best place for the price.

Woke up Sunday morning to no electricity in my room call the front desk the guy up front didn't seem to have much concern about it told me I must have blew some light bulbs. When I went to check out I tell the girl up front about it and she says oh that room always blows the breaker then why do you rent it to people this place sucks the room smells like a wet dog and no electricity I would have been better off sleeping outside would not recommend pay the extra money and go somewhere else this place is not a deal whatsoever it's cheap because you get what you pay for there.

Older place but nice for the price. The room was clean and no funky smells like I've experienced with rooms I've paid more for. I would definitely stay here again.

Very basic. When I came back to my room for the second night the bed was not made, the room not freshened, towels not replaced. The excuse: We are a mom and pop operation, short of staff and changing hands. Ridiculous! I suggest you continue to Gainesville or Ocala. Definitely not worth the price.

My Husband and I reserved a room here for two nights (July 1st and 2nd). Checked in at 2:30 on the 1st and checked out before 3:00. This is the nastiest, most disgusting hotel I've ever seen. The bed looked like it had just been slept in. Sheets were dirty. One kitchen chair, no table, bathroom dirty and tub was gross. Vanity looked like it would fall over if you touched it. Ceiling had what appeared to be a repaired leak. And the smell was horrible. The list goes on and I have pictures. The place is straight out of a horror movie. We paid over $300 (includes tax), non refundable for a two day away from home weekend. What a disappointment. Money we didn't have but just needed time for ourselves. Please don't book with this hotel. The only reason I gave it one star is because there was nothing below it.

Very disappointing! How you people to pay $170.00 per night for this place is amazing! My friend booked this hotel for me for a wedding and we paid only $99 per night but that was still way overpriced. But as a last resort hotel what could we do. This place certainly knows how to rip people off. No amenities in the room hair dryer, coffee maker, clock, phone. The room was dirty my socks turned black walking around the room. The shower did not work so all I could do was take baths. The water did not run clear, while taking a bath I could not see my legs through the water. There was nothing to plug the tub with so I had to use a wash cloth. While the air conditioner worked it was very loud and continually went on and off all night. I could hear everything was going on outside and in other rooms. The smell of dogs was so strong in the office I got sick from it. While checking out I told the person at the front desk about the shower he didn’t seem to care at all.

So pleased with our room for the night. Way cheaper than anyone in the area and just as nice. The clerk made every attempt to meet our needs for the night. Would recommend to anyone!

It was cool for the first few month but then the people started to slack in btinging us towels and blankets. Also they move you a lot.

Looks are deceiving. Rooms are nice and quiet. Clean. Beds are very comfortable. Flat screens in the room with satellite TV. Very good price. Staff was super nice. Stay here if travelling. It's a lot better than what it looks like.

This place was a very nice place to stay affordable nice clean rooms and the front desk guy was super friendly and very helpful. I strongly recommend this place to everyone.

This inn was quaint, clean, and extremely comfortable. We had a decent breakfast, and were able to get back on the road bright eyed and bushy tailed.

It was a pleasant surprise to pull off the highway and find this Inn. We felt forced to stop due to bad weather and did not expect any accommodations worth commenting on. What we found was a very comfortable and accepting Micanopy Inn. The staff was responsive to our needs, going overboard to help even in the late evening and howling thunderstorm. We slept well, had breakfast, and were on our way well rested. It was worth stopping for.

Stayed there this past weekend on a last minute, traveling to the area and oh my need a room. Hesitant initially as the outside still needs work, however, when arriving at 2:30 AM we were greeted with smiles from the friendly owner. Once checked in and in the room, very impressed with what we saw: clean room, good beds, bathroom worked, no bugs, etc. Would definitely recommend to someone needing to go to Gainsville and needing a good not as expensive room.

Tom & Shari ARE the truest examples of what is good in America. Taking something with a bad reputation and turning it into their dream. Micanopy is right off I75 between Gainesville and Ocala. Great to see a strong local team turning things around. Can't wait to see what you guys do next. Best kept secret hotel around! I hear they maybe getting a new Office Assistant and he should REALLY impress you with his customer service and management style. Rock on guys, love the remodel! Proud to stay here anytime I visit the family.

It's amazing what the new owners have done for this inn. Almost every room has been completely renovated and they've even incorporated fun theme rooms like a Florida Gator room and a bed & breakfast theme. The new Micanopy Inn is a place the town can be proud of, guests can feel safe in, and travelers can experience some of our quaint country delights. The owners have created new jobs, hired veterans, reached out to support the community, and have even offered second chances to families in need. When visiting Gainesville, consider this hotel for your needs. It only adds a 10 minute drive and is well worth getting out of the city.

They definitly deserve more than the one star rating they are given in this ad! Granted its not the Hilton, but not everybody wants the Hilton! Personally, I wouldnt be comfortable in a place like that where the most important thing about me is my bank account! Here at the Micanopy Inn are "real people", blue jeans & t-shirts, nobody's a stranger, even my dog has made friends kind of people! But thats just my opinion… U should try it for yourself!

We took over just a few months ago. Our staff has successfully provided a clean, safe environment for weary travelers, truck drivers, as well as large and small groups. Please notice that some Trip Advisor reviews have been rough, but all of those reviews were under the OLD management. My wife Shari and I pride ourselves on providing EXCELLENT Service. One more thing, we are pet-friendly. We also offered extended-stay rates.
