Review of Trump International Beach Resort - Sunny Isles Beach 5*

Staff We found, overall, the staff to be rude and dismissive although there were a few nice people especially one lady in the lobby bar, and the servers in the 2nd floor restaurant. Most of the front desk people were dismal at best and NES Joseph, a front desk clerk, was the worst. After having difficulty charging our credit card, Mr. Joseph refused to accept another one of one of my cards, locked us out of our room (it was 5:30 am), argued with us incessantly, and finally told me he would call the cops and not let me in my room if I didn’t give him cash or a credit card with a chip. It was all very embarrassing and insulting and even after we paid him we had to have a security guard let us in our room. We were treated like thieves, not customers. If Mr. Joseph worked for me, I would send him to sensitivity and diversity training to improve his people skills. We reserved a roll away bed for one night and the bill had two nights; Mr. Joseph argued and asked for proof that we had sent the bed back… he reluctantly took it off of our bill. Food The food was overpriced and mediocre at best. Both times we were at the Fusion restaurant the sushi took 45 minutes to arrive, the steak smelled rotten, and the drinks took forever to get, which is laughable because there was only a few people in the bar (we know why now). The bartender said they sent the sushi guy home one night (too slow or dysfunctional? ), and the second night he didn’t show. We still don’t know who prepared the sushi. The second floor restaurant is not only over priced, the food is awful. Pool The pool area is dingy, the bar looks like a third world after thought, and forget about the beach bar. Very dirty. I would go on, but I am tired. What should have been an enjoyable stay turned out to be an expensive nightmare. And to top it all off, a young lady called me after we had left, after our early morning disaster to argue with me about Mr. Joseph’s behavior. I finally asked her why she called me to argue with me and hung up! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID THIS RESORT.
