Review of 1 Hotel South Beach 5*

This hotel is a joke! We paid a premium (approximately 500.00) to stay in what we thought seemed like a five star hotel according to the web site. They messed our three night reservation up and made it for two nights only, then they wanted to charge us 1000.00 dollars for the third night. This happened at 9:00 P. M. We were told by the lady at the front desk that if we checked in the manager would be able to fix the reservation in the AM. We checked in. The sleeper sofa was broken, so we had to put the mattress on the floor. At this point, (after two hours of checking in) we just wanted to get to sleep. The next morning my family was alarmed from their sleep by jack hammers and construction at 8 AM. The sink would not drain. You couldn't see out of the windows because of construction dirt. The chair was broken. The shower stuck on hot and burned my daughter. We were supposed to have a ocean view with a balcony. We did not. The manager Victor was going to call us and talk about the situation. After one and one half hours Victor's assistant (George) called, we told him the situation. He said he would call back. He did not call back. We felt like they could care less. We talked to the bellman about the situation. His reply was every one was complaining and the Hotel mangement did not care. They were just trying to create revenue during this remodeling project. And that they were getting ready to shut down the Hotel for constuction. I have never written any review good or bad. I feel like the public should beware of this Hotel and their practices.
