Rude desk clerk! Horrible customer service! Not helpful! Use to be my favorite place to stay but after this we will never stay here again. Been staying here for over 20 years. Confusion with room price — managers and clerk were very unwilling to help us or make any corrections. Rooms are not kept up mold in bathroom corners, dingy bed skirts, no air conditioner in hallways, toothpaste stains/spots all on bathroom wall under mirrors. The list goes on …… not a recommendation I would ever give again to any friends or family.

Beautiful view just steps away from the beach and the grill/bar had great food. Staff was always nice and hotel was clean.

Kimberly was so positive from check-in to checkout! First time on Amelia Island and absolutely loved our stay here. Literally walked out of the hotel and was at the beach. Even got engaged! Would definitely stay here again!

It's not my habit to plug any particular business. However, this warrants an exception. The Amelia Hotel at the Beach in Fernandina Beach, Florida is an outstanding 86 room full service property and an incredible destination. From Management to Front Office to Housekeeping, each staff member is courteous, extremely helpful and truly dedicated to making a stay most enjoyable. The rooms are very large and well appointed, exceptionally clean and very quiet. Rates are reasonable for a beach hotel and an excellent value. Amelia Hotel accommodated our group of 20 in 17 rooms with ease and provided us with an exceptional experience. Each member of our group was thrilled with the service and quality of the Hotel. In fact, we were all so pleased with our stay that we have a rooms contract for 2019 for a return trip.

This was a last minute reservation after a day at the museums in Jacksonville, over the Labor Day weekend. Someday reservations were easy online over the cellphone. Located across the street from the beach and convenient to the Historic Downtown Fernandina Beach we had the best of both worlds. The staff was pleasant and knowledgeable of the area. Renting bikes for the beach ride was convenient across the street from the hotel. Thank you for the great time.

Love this place! We keep coming back year after year. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are well maintained and the cleaning staff is great! We pick this time of year because the beach is really low key prior to the holiday. Short drive to the historic district which is full of eclectic shops and delicious eats.

Booked the terrace room… FANFREAKINTASTICK! Great room, great view. I don't eat breakfast, but nice hot selections. Could have had working laundry facilities would be my only complaint, but all around great stay.

Nice rooms and great location. Shower had low pressure and wouldn't get past luke warm. Very noisy, needs to seal around doors. Especially door to connecting rooms.

We stayed in room 313. There is no water pressure and once you pull the plug up for the shower there is hardly any hot water! We informed them the first day, but it didn't get any better and it just wasn't worth the fight. Beware tho you will not get a hot shower. Room was very nice and bed very comfortable. So middle star due to shower. Also at about 8am we could hear a baby crying like they were in the room with us. And when they were adding ice to a cooler it was very loud!

Beautiful hotel, we were able to get a early check in. Room was nice and big. The staff was amazing and the breakfast even better.

My husband & I have stayed at the Amelia Hotel several times in the past. The staff has always been truly exceptional. We just returned yesterday from our most recent visit and we were thrilled once again. The room was spotless, cool and welcoming. Yes, there were a few tiles in the bathroom that could use a little attention but as this is nearing the end of their busiest season, I'm sure during the off season that such things will be attended to.
When we checked in, the lovely ladies at the front desk were Heather & Shannon. They were extremely welcoming and upon finding out that my husband & I were celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary, they gave us a small bottle of champagne and 2 champagne glasses to help us enjoy our stay. We've always had wonderful experiences with the staff at this hotel, but if every hotel had such wonderful staffers as Heather & Shannon, no one would ever be dissatisfied with the service.
To Amelia Hotel Management, if your hotel was an ice cream sundae, your staff would be the whipped cream & cherry on top! Everyone from the front desk, to the breakfast staff, to housekeeping & maintenance. Please share my husband & my sincerest thanks to Shannon & Heather at the front desk. After a long and congested drive, their smiles and welcoming attitudes were exactly what we needed. They are awesome!

A great hotel with an ideal location. Clean, decent breakfast and plenty of restaurants close by. The beach is a minute walk away and there are plenty of interesting locations a short drive away.

Miss Shannon and Miss Heather that work the front desk are everything that means hospitality! We definitely enjoyed our stay! The hotel has it's wear and tears but you will have that over time. Room could use a face lift BUT I work hospitality and know what to expect and look for. Our room was clean! We were always spoken to as we were coming and going. They offer a happy hour. Breakfast is the normal. A few things I would suggest is that the breakfast host be present and out mingling with the guests. I would keep the fruit away from the heating element because the heat is turning your bananas black. Change out the yogurt bowl as ice melts. Yogurt was floating in water. This is a very nice hotel, clean and right across the street from restaurants and the beach. They offer free breakfast, guest only parking and a pool. There are several entrances and you can get a beach view room. This hotel uses keycards and the rooms are accessed from inside the building so it is more secure. I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely wonderful stay! Complimentary chocolate chip cookies and coffee at check-in, friendly staff, clean room, and an easy walk to a beautiful beach! I also recommend the Sliders restaurant directly across the street (beach view, live music, and a playground for the kids) which you get 10% off at by showing your room key.

Convenient to the beach. Breakfast was good. Room was nice but the walls are paper thin. Could hear complete conversations in other rooms. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Horrible. Very very strong marijuana odor all night long, especially through bathroom vents. Lovely, I have an infant. Room smelled like mold upon entering and has now proven itself with the congestion, cough, chest tightness and overall feeling ill. Go outside and immediately feel better. Massive ceiling stains with horrible attempted paint over, clearly mold from water damage. Bathroom old and filthy… mirror, toilet, floors and most of all the shower. Disgusting!. Tile floor portion visibly dirty nevermind the filthy hallways that are nasty all hours of the day and night. Is there housekeeping that actually does their job here? So disappointed! Will not be back.

Not on the ocean, but you can see the ocean and it is a short walk to it. The access to drive on beach is only a few hundred yards away. Rooms are very nice. Small fridge and microwave. New carpet. Get a Groupon and save plenty.

Vey convenient. We arrived very early and the staff made sure we were taken care of to the best of their ability. The beds are not as comfortable as I'd like. The hotel was clean.

Booked a one night stay to catch a cruise out of Jacksonville. Arrived just at dusk and wished we had more time to enjoy the beautiful beach just walking distance away. We were delightfully surprised with our rooms which were very clean and comfortable beds. Front desk personnel were very cordial and pleasant. Morning breakfast was fresh and well stocked. No complaints and will definitely stay again without hesitation. Highly recommend the Cedar River Seafood restaurant also within walking distance… excellent and great prices!

Great hotel! Very accommodating, great staff. Location is perfect, one block from beach access. Breakfast was somewhat limited but good. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Clean room but the bed was hard and broken. The staff was nice but had trouble with the door key not working. Tried 5 different keys before one of them worked and later that night it stopped working. Have to say that we will not be staying there again.

Recently stayed here for a friend's wedding along with many other wedding guests including the bride and groom. Unfortunately, our stay was horrendous. The rooms were overpriced and dirty. Some friends had to have their sheets changed because they were filled with hair. Our shower/tub was filled with hair and the sitting chair in our room smelled like vomit. If you walked on the carpet for any reason without shoes on the bottom of your feet were black. They also charge you a $50 pet and smoking fee upfront which is supposedly refunded at check out but was not. There is a bar across the street that is loud and was very easily heard on the 3rd floor where our room was located. When I voiced my concerns upon check out all we received was a "We're very sorry. " do not stay here!

Pretty decent hotel, very clean rooms from what I could see. Staff is very accommodating. They have a lounge area with a public computer. The hotel does have a morning breakfast but I did not experience this, slept in of course! Adequate parking. Also has a outdoor pool which is nice. I would stay here again if I do come back to the area.

Stayed here for a wedding. The hotel is old and muggy. It smells old and muggy. It hits you as soon as you go up the elevator. I asked for an early check-in so I could get ready at the hotel before the wedding and while they were accommodating to that degree when I got to the hotel and tried to take a shower there was VERY LITTLE to NONE hot water pressure. When I told the front desk about the water they sent someone up to look at it and then we never heard from anyone else again. I basically had to stand in the the shower and splash water onto my body to rinse soap off. The breakfast was fine. Nothing special and I had to wait for ever for the waffle maker. I honestly can't believe they charged me over $200. For a night in this room. I was very disappointed.

Love the hotel with its location across the street from the beach. The building is showing a little age, and could use a fresh coat of paint. Rooms are comfortable and plenty big.

One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had… took my children alone for my son's bday because of its close proximity to the beach. I could not rinse my hair because I ran out of hot water and the water pressure was absolutely ridiculous. Booked online, but wound up paying $50 extra. Not even sure why. Rude staff with stupid excuses like too many people were showering at the same time, then blamed it on the construction around the area. Also, breakfast was a joke and we left hungry. The third floor smelled like a marijuana smokehouse. It was the most awful smell. When I complained they said they were trying to locate the room… they seemed really uninterested.

Disappointed. The free Wi-Fi is weak. We had no hot water. We called the front desk in the evening and was told a lot of people are showering. What? Then called the next morning and was told they're working on it. Was given 1 coffee for the in room coffee for 2 guest. The free bottles of shampoo were the tiniest I have ever seen. The place is showing wear and tear. They show me they are more concerned with profit than people. I will not return.

It's location was the best thing about it for me. The customer service was great. The accommodations were just ok. We spent all of our time on the beach so it really wasn't an issue. It is conveniently located right across the street from the beach and Sliders restaurant. …

Location is great… not worth the poor customer service. I went online and purchased the room for a set price and ended up paying 60 more for a room. Make sure you call the hotel and confirm if you do book online or you will be backed in a corner to pay the uprated rate! The rooms smelled like mold, bed was an old mattress with a piece of foam on top where the middle caved in. Water pressure is low in the shower also. I am very disappointed and will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

We booked this hotel because they said they were pet friendly and we could bring our service animals. We were also told we could have a ground floor, poolside room but when we tried to check in, the staff was rude, would not let us check in until 4 pm even though we called earlier and they said we could check in when we arrived after a long drive. They could have let us check in earlier but did nothing to facilitate our getting into the room until the very last minute while we watched many others check in early with no problem. The room we wanted was vacant but they did not get it cleaned until the very end — — unpleasant and not service oriented! I am 74 and not in the best of health but they made us sit there, lecturing us about not having a service animal and totally made us feel unwelcome. Then later they had n cookies were rude about things we needed in the room — — not enough towels, cups, etc. And basically were very unwelcoming to a senior and her niece (in her early 50's) who is recovering from a serious illness and drove 9 hours to get there — — we had many options and would not have chosen this one if they had been honest about their service animal policies. Never again.

Nice looking hotel in close proximity to the beach. Guests at the hotel are offered a 10% discount at certain dining establishments, like Sliders, which is just across the street. There are many restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel rooms, however, could've been much better. The beds were hard, squeaky, and uncomfortable to sleep on. I didn't sleep as well as I would have liked. The bathroom door didn't have a lock on it, and the bathtub was peeling and not aesthetically pleasing in the least bit. Walls were pretty thin, as I could hear the muffled sounds of guests taking on the next room over, and the loud yelling of a kid in the other adjacent room.

I loved how close the hotel is to the beach and the staff were very nice. The only things that, in my opinion, made it not rate 5 stars was that for being such a nice hotel, I expected the bed and pillows to be more comfortable. Also, the jets in the tub had a little mold on it. Other than that we had a nice time. The pool was very nice and the breakfast was delicious. I would definitely go back if I'm in the area again.

We stayed in balcony king room with ocean view. Room was spacious and bed comfortable. Room was not thoroughly cleaned. Staff was friendly.

This place has a mildew tobacco odor, the bathroom was dirty with stained towels, a and I had to get my own fresh towels bc the cleaning staff doesn't speak English, we were over charged 300 dollars and then told that it would be 3 days to put it back into our account. The staff is rude and did not give us any explanation. We had to figure this out on our own no apology. No parking even tho we had a parking pass. No vending one ice machine for the entire hotel on the second floor. Very outdated rooms. Instant coffee was all they had to offer for breakfast. We paid 200 bucks a night for a room with no view no balcony. A 0100 I was awakened by a drunk man in the hall way who refused to pipe down and it lasted until 0138. If you are going to pay this price do it for some place nice. This is a 49 buck a night motel with coral colored paint and scratchy linens.

The staff was friendly and polite But the rooms were a little dated but they were on the clean side. The breakfast wasn't great but for free what do you want? My biggest complaint would be the shower head in the shower the control kept slipping from hot to cold on its own. For the price I think it was worth the stay but it could have been better.

4 starts because well it's a 3 star place. The place looks nice but the rooms are older and could use a refresh but you get what you pay for and that's good to.

I really like this hotel. I try to stay here anytime I'm passing through. It's literally right across from the beach so you can't beat the location. The staff (all of it) has always been great with me. The price is pretty good when you factor in proximity to the beach. I did see some comments about the bed and rooms. I've only had an upgraded king room, but my room (and bed) have been great. The breakfast is your typical free hotel breakfast so (meh), but seriously it free what are you expecting. If you have higher expectations there are great places to eat all over the island! Try the Salty Pelicans Sunday brunch (I did it was wonderful). I agree with the comment on the Internet. It was spotty at best (really cell reception too). So not sure I'd stay for a long trip here because of it, but for a few day it's fine. Overall I love this place. Not perfect, but value good … and we'll keep coming back! :)

Great location, overall nice stay. However, the beds as advertised being tempur — pedic topped, were not, and they were not comfortable at all. The staff was nice and accommodating.

Here's a great little hotel for the money. It's clean, affordable, located in a decent area with a beachy, family-friendly vibe. You don't stay right on the beach, but it's an easy walk across the street to get there. The pool isn't the biggest I've seen but it was fine for us. The rooms are comfortable with good flat screen TVs, microwaves, and mini-fridges. There aren't a whole lot of restaurants and shops in the immediate area, but to me that's a plus. The hotel offers a good breakfast in the morning, and you can find anything you need within a short drive.

The hotel is right across from the beach. The rooms are nice and the beds are very comfortable. The staff in all areas were very nice, helpful and accommodating. I am disabled and stayed in a room that was handicap accessible. The biggest problem was that the bath chair fit in the tub sideways and there is no room for your feet or legs. It was not safe for me to use. Parking is pretty tight but there are handicap parking spot by the middle entrance. I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

The television didn't work. Called front desk … needed to use pwr button on the TV itself … ok fine, but it turns out the remote will only change channels … no volume or mute. THEN I discovered the heat didn't work! Somebody must've known, too, b/c it had been set on 78 deg. TV didn't work, heat didn't work, all this for $200. Check out time? The couple behind us had similar problems, too … they needed to change room 3 times? No manager available while checking out … she doesn't come in until … and BREAKFAST IS A JOKE.

We stayed here for our honeymoon for a week in the Terrace Suite and we really enjoyed it, the hotel is nice and clean and a reasonable price for what you get. I did have a problem with one of the staff members checking in, but the manager quickly cleared the issue up. The breakfast every morning in the lobby was very nice and convenient and the hotel is central to the beach, several restaurants and rental shops for bikes etc. We had a very nice time and would return.
