Review of Kona Kai Resort and Gallery 2*

My husband and I stayed in the Mango Room at Kona Kai in March 2018 and we loved it! We are super busy people with a toddler at home, so we needed a quick, relaxing getaway where we could spend time together and unwind. This place is perfect for that! The gardens and landscaping are gorgeous and make you feel like you are in a private, secluded hideaway. The salt water pool was perfect — clean, warm and refreshing. Our room was super clean, spacious and cozy. I am a clean-freak and pay super attention to the details, and thankfully so do the staff of Kona Kai! The staff really did their best to facilitate our relaxation: making sure we had everything we needed and that we felt comfortable without being annoying, phony or overly attentive. The place is relatively small, and there are little nooks to hang out in, so we always felt like we were alone or had a good amount of privacy, even if there were other guests nearby. The other guests seemed to be on the same wavelength as us: relaxation. At one point while lying down at the pool, the only sound I heard were palm trees blowing in the breeze. Just a slice of heaven! I would go back to Kona Kai in a second! It was a super relaxing and quiet getaway, and just what we needed. If you like larger all-inclusive resorts where there are a ton of planned activities, food/drink, music, and staff waiting on your every whim, then you probably will not enjoy Kona Kai. If you are looking for a quiet, simple getaway where you can unplug and just BE, then this is the place for you!
