Review of Amoray Dive Resort 2*

My husband and I booked two rooms with my father for eight days. We were looking forward to the beachfront property and the immaculately clean roles that the website promised. It was an ocean side hotel with a tiny piece of sand that led into a cute lagoon. But when we got into the rooms they were incredibly outdated and dirty. My fathers door lock did not work and they did not give him a first floor room as requested because he has serious knee problems and is undergoing cancer treatment. Our room was full of ants and spiders. There was a broken light outside of our room and it was impossible to see through the alley to get to our door at night and even though we requested for it to be fixed nearly every day, it was still unchanged when we left. The very beginning of our stay we requested a different room or a refund and we were told no to both request because they were booked and they don’t do refunds. I doubt with waking up with bug bites all over us each morning. There were micro ants on my toothbrush and hairbrush. So the hotel sprayed raid in our room which didn’t help and then got an exterminator in there and we had to stay out of our room for the whole day. It still didn’t get rid of the ants. We had to hang absolutely everything from the hanger in the closet and even the food we stuffed in the microwave ended up getting ants in it so we spent way more money than we had anticipated because we had to eat out every day. When we booked we specifically asked for a kitchen so that we could avoid that. We ended up getting a tiny fridge that didn’t even have a separate freezer and a dirty microwave with a whicker Table and chair set with a broken chair. There was also water damaged walls that smelt like mold and at the very end of the trip we asked for some type of compensation because it honestly changed the entire trajectory of our trip. In the end they offered a 50% discount when we showed them all of the pictures and they only ended up giving us a 10% discount. I would never recommend this resort to anyone. But the Azul Del Mar next-door is absolutely beautiful.
