My husband and I stayed here for a weekend. Overall we liked this hotel. The decor was very "urban chic" and (though not to my personal taste) was a great fit for the sophisticated downtown area the hotel is located in. The room was HUGE and a bit "echo-y" but nice. The bed was wonderful, to the point that I didn't want to move once I was on it. The desk staff is helpful and friendly, and the pool was fun. As far as location, it's also close to several light rail lines and lots of bus stops, is within walking distance of the Denver Performing Arts Complex and the Convention Center, and you're literally right across the street from 16th Street Mall, making this a great property for shopping enthusiasts and people-watchers (for those unfamiliar with Denver, the 16th Street Mall is an open-air pedestrian shopping area where street performers and other "nontraditional" characters tend to gather, but we never felt unsafe). Be aware that there is NO free parking at this hotel (though they do have valet parking available for $30 or so a day). Also, if you're paying with a debit card, they will charge your entire stay to your card the first night, plus $50 per night damage deposit, and you won't get it back until at least 72 hours after you check out. It's policy, and they're strict on it. Credit cards just get a hold, and not really "run" until checkout, so pay with a credit card if you can. Also, it's a dual property. The Hampton rooms are floors 2-5 (no guest rooms on first floor), and the other hotel (I think it's an all-suite one) is on the upper floors. If you want a great view of the city skyline, you'll need to book at the other hotel that shares the building, not Hampton. That said, though, I think it's a great place if you like young and chic, or need to be near the convention center.
