Review of Howard Johnson by Wyndham Denver West 3*

I was absolutely disgusted with this hotel and had it not been raining and late at night I would have seriously found somewhere else to stay. First of all my wife and I walked in and it smelt like cigarette smoke in the front lobby. I asked the lady at the front desk if this was what the whole hotel smelt like and she looked at me like I was an idiot and said that she didn't even smell any smoke but there definitely was. As we walked up to our room, we smelt smoke in the hallways. The single queen room was VERY VERY tiny, the bathroom was right when you walked in the door and then the bed was maybe 6 feet away from the door and that is including the entry way to the bathroom. We ended up transferring to a king bed room which was a lot bigger but it was still gross. The lamp shades were busted up and just had cloth in them and not the light reflectors. My wife took a shower and went to use the blow dryer and it didn't work and actually fell apart. We went down to the front desk to see about getting another one and they wouldn't give us another one and left my wife standing there with wet hair. There were burn marks in the sink in the bathroom and weird looking marks or dents on the bathtub. When we took a shower, the water didn't drain very fast and left us standing in about 5-7 inches of standing water in the tub while we were in the shower. We also asked the front desk about this and they said sorry and said that they would put in a request to fix it but it was no gaurentee of when or if it would be fixed by the next morning. Overall I was really disappointed for this being a Howard Johnson hotel that I thought was going to be really nice. Shame on me for not looking more into this. There also is no pool or breakfast in the morning.
