Yosemite International Hostel Hostel

Nice hostel with a well stocked kitchen and cozy atmosphere. Wifi was a little spotty at times.

Cheap and fair, but the installations are very simple and could definitely improve. Good stay near the park (about to hour ride to yosemite valley) and cool little town — very nice café and community space next door, with gardens, a nursery and a beautiful patio. Check in was easy and friendly, other guests around were nice; amenities ok (bathroom, kitchen, little patio), room ok but not most comfortable beds in the world… really nothing bad, just kind of old and could help some improvements and nicer/more well kept ambience.

Location is about 1hr15min from the park entrance… I read a half hour somewhere, but that is inaccurate. To and from the hostel took a 1h15min consistently. I'm used to shared bathrooms, but this is practically an outhouse. No breakfast… Mouse in the kitchen. This hostel gets away with the bare minimum because it's cheap and kind of close to Yosemite.

You can smell cleaner, but it didn't look very clean The beds are just sacks full of springs. It cracked if I inhaled too hard. There is no automatic lock on the door. I woke up to it wide open. Close to the park.

We stayed here for 2 nights. It's about an hour from yosemite valley and honestly it's as close as you're gonna get without paying more than 200$ per night. We had a private room with two beds. No issues with locks on the bedroom but the front door to the house did not lock. The place was cleaned every day by staff. The house did smell a bit musty and dirty but it was an older house. There is heating/air conditioning and fans available. The kitchen has all the appliances you need to cook. I would stay here again as it was convienent.

Ok hostel, nice spaces and kitchen but attention its veeeeeery far from the actual yosemite park, anyway to commute to the park every day was the cheapest option around.

This place does bad … I called and cancelled my reservation one week before arriving and they charged me one day anyway. Then I disputed the charges and they said I never cancelled. First ever bad experience with a HOSTEL!

The price is right, which means that any faults should just be accepted! I slept in a 12 bed dormitory for a little over $30. You must have cash when you pay on arrival! The bathroom was accessible by going outside. The bed had a little shelf and light. I was warm and comfortable. Luckily the other folks in my room were polite. The owner (or the person at the front desk) was really friendly. The bathroom left something to be desired. For a 12 bed dorm there was one toilet, one sink, and 2 showers. And the toilet had a little plastic folding screen that left a gap that people could look through if they were so inclined.

Parking is OK and it's free. The guys at the reception are very friendly and helpfully. The rooms are really small the beds are small and uncomfortable. The air conditioning does not work well so it's hot all the day inside. Everything looks old. The restrooms are dirty and old. The common areas are boring. If you don't fine any other place this is your option, but try to find something better. It's 1 hour from the park. Wi-Fi is really really slow.

It's a really good hostel. Decent parking, decent rooms, and great beds. The only issue I have is that they charge you a lot for misdemeanors. Lose your key? $15 extra. Late check in? $15 extra. Late check out? $15 extra.

It was ok. Cons: far away from Yosemite Valley, there are no lockers for the shared dorms, you have to pay in cash only, any add ons are expensive (i. E laundry was $10, and a towel the size of a hand towel was $5). Pros: the lodging itself is cute, and there are plenty of common areas for socializing. It's in a nice small town where you can walk to a few restaurants and shops.

Spacious room with a host very nice ready to help. I did not feel any atmosphere as we were only two. It was cleaned with a very pleasant smell at the entrance.

Clean hostel. Great crowd. Pizza right next door, and bar down the block. The town closes down early and it's about an hour from Yosemite Valley, but it was a great place to relax.

Small, simple, and perfect place to relax and prepare to see Yosemite.

Nice staff but otherwise I will never go back there. We were charged an extra Hostel World fee of about $70 that we did not know about. There was only one bathroom with a shower for our "house" and others from other places were coming in our "house". Many times I ran outside to the "office bathroom" in the cold, to use a bathroom. I only had access to the shower once in 5 days. The beds were not comfortable and we needed more blankets. We asked about towels on the phone. They said they had some but NOT that we would pay extra for those. When making the reservation the staff there told my husband that the place was only 15 minutes from Yosemite. WRONG, it was 50 minutes away. We did not like that long trek each day. We did not have a locker. Thankfully we were able to lock our room, we were the only ones in there. No. I will never go back there. Beware if you do.

It's one of the best hostels Iv been to, and Iv been to many. Very clean, warm comfortable rooms. Today I didn't bother going anywhere because I just needed some peace and quiet. It was reviving experience after so many hectic days. Staff is super nice and thank you guys for the hospitality. Please after coming here review the place yourself because the only other review here is completely unjustified. Maybe it's the manager of the other hostel.

Friendly staff, but. No hot water in the shower. No air conditioning, except in one common area. Kitchens are very poorly (and haphazardly) equipped. Lacked privacy and could not lock off dorm. No lockers. This is the worst hostel I've experienced. I transferred to the Yosemite Bug — about the same price but well-equipped, safe, private, and much more professional. Yosemite International Hostel has used other names, including Oso Hostel.
