Was just there a week ago. Was pretty surprised that there was no Rm #'s on the patio side of the rooms. Coming back to our room from a fun night at the bar was a guessing game to say the least. The room was spacious and clean. Bathroom needs to be updated to more counter space and also a full size mirror would also be nice.

This is my home town hangout. I suffer through depression and driving here from Tracy to reconnect with my kids. Love this beautiful hotel. Near downtown, easy accessible to Santa Cruz. It is on my wellness list to get well!

We found the hotel to be very nice in every way, the grounds were lovely to sit in and well maintained. Our room was a good size with all the necessary amenities to enjoy your stay.

We found the Los Gatos Lodge, while in the area for a memorial service. The lodge is not will represented in the on line discount hotel services. I came across it doing my own style of search. I found the price. Including taxes and fees, to be very acceptable. The location has great access to Hwy 17. Also Hwy 9 if you are going up to the big basin park. The room was clean and cozy. The bar and grill is sort of a local hang out, and the people are great. The Food was fantastic and nicely priced. I will definitely stay there again.

The staff is great and the location is ideal, but the hotel needs an upgrade. Plumbing is an issue and the place needs at least a good painting. For people on a budget, this may be fine.

We stayed at room 110 for a night on a business trip. It's an older hotel so things are not as fancy or new, but the room was very clean and in decent shape. The room had a coffee maker, small fridge, microwave, full size ironing board and iron, hair dryer, and a stand up shower. The bed was decent. I would say the only disappointing thing is the free breakfast. The selection was not very appealing with the basic cold cereal, yogurt, coffee and tea, and breads and bagels. There were warming trays that were empty both times I went in at 7 and 8 (it is from 7-9am). I've had much better breakfasts at bargain hotels.

Just OK. Rooms need serious upgrading. The bed I slept on was the WORST hotel bed EVER! It made squeaky, springing noises when you just sit or lie down. These beds were not soft, not comfortable, and felt super cheap. The cleanliness was sub par. The carpet was dark and felt dingy. The wallpaper was old and damaged in some areas. Not to mention remnants of old bugs squished on the wall. There were flies in my room when I arrived. The curtains were very old and looked like they needed to be cleaned/dusted. The walls were so thin you could hear murmurs of conversations from rooms next to you. The sliding patio door didn't have an extra security mechanism beyond the typical lock. This was discomforting since the sliding door leads out to a patio that is not enclosed and open to the public essentially (first floor units only). Here are the good things about this place: ✓Free buffet breakfast ✓Beautiful grassy areas and trees that surround ✓Microwave & Mini fridge in standard room ✓Courteous staff ✓Spacious room Overall, it's just slightly better than motel 6, with the exception of the beds. I'm sure motel 6 has more comfy beds. I wouldn't stay here again. Pay a little more for comfort and cleanliness. To the owners: update your beds ASAP. The number one thing a person wants in a hotel stay is a comfortable night's sleep. If you upgraded your mattresses I MIGHT stay again. Maybe.

Rooms are dated, but clean. The courtyard is great, easily makes up for the rooms shortcomings. Will definitely stay here again.

Grounds are beautiful, rooms haven't been upgraded in YEARS. Paint was peeling, furniture looked like it came from a thrift store, bathroom was the size of a phone booth, electrical outlets were buried under an immovable bed, kitchenette was a joke. The only thing good about it was location. I think they think that is enough. Highly overpriced for what you get.

Horrible experience. I would honestly rate this hotel a 0. Untrained staff & management. Traveled out of state for a wedding & stayed at this hotel but I really regretted it, especially for such a high price I had to pay when this hotel is really only worth $50.00 a night. Their rooms were disgusting & showers/ bathrooms were gross! Toilet felt like it was gonna fall through the ground cause it was so powerful & loud when you flushed it, showers were not enjoyable because you would have it on warm & it would turn ice cold. Their staff at check in & the manager Cecilio R. Charged my card 6 times in total so just be careful before having them swipe your card. The manager was untrained & took no responsibility for his or his staffs actions & mistakes they made at that hotel. I definitely DO NOT recommend this hotel. Your better off staying somewhere else then this trashy horrible hotel. I hope the people that are booking at this hotel right now has the chance to read this post before booking your hotel room. Your wasting your time if you do stay there, you'll wanna thank me later when you have the same experience I had. That's the reason I am posting this so everyone can read this review & save money & time. :)

Good standard accommodations. Nice and quiet. The pool looked nice and the grounds in general were well kept. Would definitely stay here again if we were staying in the area again.

Great venue. Was there for a Corgi championship. Lots of room, really nice outside, and great location. Very quiet and relaxing.

Nice quiet almost forest setting. If you can see past some of some of the quirky practices, it is a pleasant stay. This is my second time and likely many more in the coming months.

Very clean, quiet, peaceful place to stay. Extremely welcoming employees. Would highly recommend to people looking for an overnight stay. Very close to downtown.

Not a patron, but have been in many rooms, not spectacular design, but contains the required amenities for personal care. Its a relatively big complex, looks to have previously been a apartment lot. Hotel has a full service bar/restaurant, local bands play on some nights. Believe its closed on Sundays, but verify yourself. The "buisness" section of Los Gatos isn't within view of the hotel, but definitely a walkable distance if your able bodied. Contains a bocce ball pit, front desk has balls. Located next to the bar.

My favorite place to stay in the Bay area. Not your run of the mill hotel. Is it special? No, not really. But how many hotels are? Do they do everything right? Absolutely! The rooms are different than your big chain hotels with a cool, comfortable feel to them. And again, they do everything right. A little bit off the big city but well worth the extra 10 minutes it takes to get there.

Came here with my hubby for his company Holiday dinner. The food was delicious (salmon and steamed veggies, or choice of chicken ceaser salad) and the suites are very cozy. We had a great time there.

When I first arrived at the Los Gatos Lodge I felt it appeared to be an apartment complex. But reception went smoothly and I was put into an upstairs Suite. The room was very well equipped with an amazing jacuzzi dual sinks and a very comfortable bed. I was able to get a lot of work done and there was no extra noise. Overall I would say the experience was quite good for what I paid.

I liked it. The room was spacious. Bed was comfy. Only problems was not a great wall ac and hardly any plugs or easy to get to plugs. But I still liked the room. It felt very 3's a company.

The hotel is on a nice location and the staff is very friendly. However… The hotel is very outdated and in need of a major renovation. They need to start with the beds which are ultra soft and extremely uncomfortable which you will feel it in the morning! Almost no power outlets, I had to unplug the alarm clock from the hotel in order to be able to charge my phone. The walls are paper thin making for lots of noise. The bathroom showers are from the 1970's and it looks like they just been recycled over and over. The water temperature is very hard to regulate. Overall nice place BUT I would no back.

The grounds are in immaculate but the rooms need some updating. Also had some issues getting in to our room. Learned that sometimes you have to turn the door handle upwards instead of down. Didn't learn of this trick until day 3 of our stay.

Loveed it! The old skool vibe we were looking for. Breakfast was yummy! Room was clean. Balcony was nice to enjoy the crisp morning air. We were able to connect our Roku to it was nice.

The hotel has a beautiful grassy area and good free breakfast. The price is good too considering how close it is to downtown Los gatos. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only downside is that it is a bit outdated. Other than that it was a good place to stay.

Stayed 5 days last week. Very nice, restful stay. They have a continental breakfast and a bar/restaurant for evenings. Convenient location, excellent service. Nice old school place, highly recommend.

Was once a charming hotel. Now is run down, with a cheap remodel to make it look good on the surface. But the remodel was insufficient with stained carpets, holes on the walls, and bugs everywhere.

I have never left a review — good or bad, at a restaurant, hotel or otherwise, but I felt compelled to here. We stayed in room 115 and I would never stay here again. The wallpaper was held together with clear pushpins, the carpet was filthy and the bathroom was appalling. Worse than the condition, was the operational use of the bathroom. The water turned on in the sink by itself more than once and when you turned the cold water on a pounding from the wall shook the fixtures! The shower had two temperatures — scolding hot or ice cold — nothing in between. Every shower resulted in standing outside the shower to finish, but luckily, the piping in the wall would make a loud, horrendous sound signaling that a change was about to occur (even though you didn’t change the fixtures). The chemical, disinfectant odor is absolutely atrocious. After the first night we stopped by the front desk to minimally ask if the shower could be evaluated. We were told they were booked but otherwise we could switch rooms. I asked for the maintenance man to look at the shower and was told he’d be by the next day at 9:30 a. M. The morning came and went and he never came nor was there any follow up. Do not stay here. Do not waste your money. We seriously considered leaving, despite having used our hotel rewards in advance. Wish we would have! Alfred Hitchcock Route 66 Truck Stop hotel gone wrong! Beware!

It was move in weekend at UCSC so almost all area hotels were either fully booked or had jacked their prices so high it didn't make sense to stay there. Los Gatos was available and had reasonable prices so we gave it a try. My room was nice enough but seemed to be designed for a very short person. The mirrors and shower head were so low I had to bend down to use them. The bathroom had mold in the corners. The place in general stayed noisy until after midnight… on the other hand the grounds are pretty and it's convenient to Santa Cruz. For the price we paid it was ok. It just may be due for a bit of an overhaul.

Attended my cousins wedding at this place. Staff was very friendly aside from the bartenders. Food tasted amazing and the wedding was beautiful. Giving 3 stars because of the poor attitude of the bartender. I wasn't drinking and I got the short end of the stick from them. Also the pavement here is VERY uneven in multiple areas and my 60 year old aunt hit pretty hard from tripping over the uneven walkway outside our room. Management didn't seem to care about it. As far as the wedding went I give 5 stars. Fix the attitudes of the bartenders and the pavement and the lodge would also get 5 stars! Beds were comfy and rooms were clean.

We hosted a surprise birthday party for my mom this weekend at Los Gatos Lodge. Everything was set up and run beautifully, food was great. Simon, who was in charge of 3 banquets that night, was so incredibly helpful with all of our needs (and we were very needy). Highly recommended!

We stayed here for a couple of nights while doing a family road trip. The rooms are not the nicest and the beds are horrible. The breakfast is pretty good and it's one of the cheapest hotels in the area. But having stayed there, I'd rather of just ponied up the extra money to stay at a nicer place.

Interior of the rooms and hotel was a bit dated and "worn out" but that gave it a certain charm. I absolutely loved having coffee on the balcony in the morning! There was plenty of parking and a good breakfast selection. Staff was nice and helpful.

The rooms are simple but comfortable. They charge for the fourth, not per person. It includes breakfast which is simple but the food tastes good. It has green areas to walk around and the place is quiet.

I always do my professional development workshops here, because of the great service from the staff, especially Jarenny and entire kitchen staff. I just held my annual leadership workshop: "The Power of YOU, " on Saturday and everything went without a hitch. Thank you to the great staff who were attentive to the needs of my attendees in The Gato Room.

On this visit, last night, I think Los Gatos Lodge was a 4 star in a 3 star hotel. I give it a 4 because of the friendly staff, the updated room (bathroom was updated, new tv's, newer towels) and an upgraded room (backed to Los Gatos High School, a separate bedroom and a fireplace). Thanks for a good night Los Gatos Lodge.

Had a wonderful experience! Although dated, we were struck by its charm! Tucked in the corner of Los Gotas, The spacious suites offered sitting rooms with a fireplace and private patio overlooking gorgeous grounds. Free Breakfast was served at the bar, but steer clear of the ancient raisins in your oatmeal or previously frozen bran muffins. Other than that, the ham, eggs and oatmeal were palatable. Enjoyed the experience. Would stay here again. Especially if you are attending a concert at the Miuntain Winery or other local event!

The pool was not clean when we used it and there were never any towels in the pool area. The rooms definitely need to be updated and the doors to our bathroom didn't latch so it was weird. Otherwise everything else was great.

Amazing time and visit! Room was comfortable enjoyed my stay. Was in town for 30rh reunion from Los gatos!

We travel for work a lot usually pay to much for a crappy hotel that looks great in pictures. But this place is by far the best we have stayed at. The grounds are beautiful, the view is great and the staff go above and beyond. The convenience of having a restaurant/bar on the property makes it even better. There are things to do for me during the day and relaxing in the evening is peaceful. It may not be a 5 star to some but to me it beats a hotel with no where to escape to outside your room.

Nice rooms, but they changed the heat when I left for the day so by night time it was really hot in my room. Other than that its nice but the fitness room is nothing to brag about.

The rooms were clean, but they are in need of some updating/repairs. There were parts of the walls that were patched or scuffed, but not painted over. The location was great though and the price point is excellent for the area. Service was fine; we didn't need anything while we were there, so the only time we spoke with someone was to check in/out.

Possibly a different reason for my visit compared to most. I needed to get away a night to clear my mind. The room I was given was very private. I felt alone and really liked that part of it. The room was very clean. There is a patio for each room which is awesome because most Hotel's I go to don't have a patio. The patio was covered partially by a tree which added to the privacy of my room. The free internet in the room was fast and even though the hotel was full, I didn't notice any lag. I went downstairs and they have a full bar there with a kitchen and purchase a Jalapeno Chicken Burger with a cocktail and headed back to my room… The sandwich was Super Bomb! In the morning, I went downstairs and ate eggs, toast, ham, and country fried potatoes as my continental breakfast. It was tasty and filled me up for the rest of the day. I really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend it for a family or self.

A sweet little gem that we will be coming back to! Rooms are on the smaller size for US; in Europe it would have been a suite! Compared to the surrounding facilities, price was a bargain. Very quiet and clean. Staff top notch and friendly. We plan to use it as a base to explore San Francisco and the surrounding area. Try to get room 606… ground floor, easy parking, and being on the end of the building, no noise! PS — — outside swimming pool is heated… wife needed a crowbar to get me to leave to go to supper at the onsite grill and bar! Noticed some comments on pets… I too noticed that it was pet freindly and was prepared for the worst… room sparkled and smelled fine.

Nice building layout. Hotel room quiet and comfortable. My wife and I love the the private patio. Very friendly staff. Buildings are older but in good shape.

The suite is spacious, cozy, and comfortable. The temperature outside is just right and with my patio doors and bedroom windows open, let's in a refreshing, cooling breeze which keeps my large dog comfortable too. The complimentary breakfast included delicious scrambled eggs, yogurt, muffins and breads, cold and hot cereal as well as coffee, tea, and juice. It was all tasty and filling. My dog likes the many grassy areas around the apartment sized suites and we enjoyed our walks around the complex. It was a bit noisy in that there was some kind of game going on in the sports field across from the room I'm staying in and there was a lot of hammering next door, which I'm assuming is a room they're remodeling. It was quiet during the night. All that being said, I'm looking forward to bringing my dog here again for a quick and close to home staycation.

Rooms are generally clean and the staff is pleasant. Room service is available most of the day, they're pet friendly, have low rates, and rooms feel safer than many hotels in the same price range.

I just wanted to warn people against staying at Los Gatos Lodge. We stayed there this past week while our house was on the market. Last night was our last night there and we ended up staying at our home and I left our things there planning to go back this morning to retrieve them and settle the bill. I even spoke with the manager last night and he knew were checking out today… When I arrived this morning 2 hours prior to check out my things were gone. I went to the office and no one claimed to know anything about where my things were saying someone must have broken in and stolen them. The front office staff was acting very suspiciously and there was a woman in the back room who kept poking her head out and waving the manager in to talk to him behind closed doors. Finally when I summoned the Los Gatos Police my things started showing up (including my son's 400$ bike) and I was able to get some of my things back but medications and a few other personal items were gone. It was clearly an inside job and then they claimed after the police was present they thought I had left early and left those things behind, really who leaves personal items behind and why would they assume that before I checked out when my check out was at 11 a. M. Today.

Anyone giving this more then one star was probably paid by the owner or has been living in a dog house til their stay. The small rooms smell bad and are definitely not post 1983, the shower is tiny with just enough water pressure to reach the middle of the tiny shower. The bathrooms have those weird flip up (like blinds) glass that opens to the walkway out front. Plus side is the over priced dingy bar does have liquor as long you approach the bar from your table, as tables are not served. Another plus is pets are allowed so if ur animal lover then you won't mind the smell or noise. A coworker was actually peed on by a large dog from an up stairs balcony, it was hilarious to say the least! So if you want to throw your money into a sink hole or if you've been living in a dog house and don't mind the smell of said dog house then this is the place for you! Don't forget to leave 5 stars so everyone will know your a lair after they've been duped into a stay at the lodge! P. S. Also another coworker actually found a rats nest in one of the rollaway folding beds! Yeah seriously!

Company party in El Gato room, it was awesome!

The rooms were mediocre. The price was good, we were there for my sons wedding and had a large group, meaning at least ten to fifteen rooms. My husband and I had to change rooms when the heater was turned on, it left a burning, or burnt smell in the room. Another couple had to change rooms due to there being a large wet spot on their mattress. My father in law was checked into a room that had not been cleaned, like someone had just left it, they had to be re assigned. So maybe thirty percent of our guests experienced some sort of issue with their room. That's only the ones I know about. On the positive side, they had a nice bar and grill area that we could " hang out" at and a nice bocce ball area we could use with our group.

If you reserve a room at this hotel hoping it will resemble the pictures on the website, you will be shocked with the deplorable condition of your room. The room you get will in no way look anything like the pictures on the internet. I made this mistake and reserved two rooms in order to attend a wedding in Los Gatos. This hotel should be listed as a one star hotel at best. We had no water pressure, mold in our shower, peeled paint in shower, sheets that were stained and torn, safety chain on door broken, rooms had strong odor, tiles on bathroom floor were broken, stains on wall, bedspread was stained, very worn and thin. If you complain to the manager (C. R. ) he will only tell you, you should have stayed somewhere else. Wish it would have been that easy! I am filing a report with BBB, environmental protection agency (mold), public health (mold) and a letter to the editor. Los Gatos was a lovely, quaint town, however this hotel is a prime example of false advertising and price gouging.

Very overpriced. The room was awful. The A/C unit was very loud and old. The carpet is from the 70's. The bathroom was tiny with bad lighting. The shower was miniture and sealant was peeling. I wish I had flip flops to wear while showering. It took at least 5 minutes to obtain a consistent water temperature using the unlabeled sensitive shower valves which turn in opposite directions. We stayed here one night for a wedding in the area. I would not go back here or recommend this place to anyone. In fact I am writing this because I encourage you to look elsewhere. Sorry for the bad review but it is accurate.

I have a hard time believing that anyone would pay the relatively high price for this hotel and then willingly come back. Our room looked like it was straight out of 1983 and in desperate need of a remodel. Abysmal Wi-Fi, no outlets near the desk area, horrible water pressure in the shower, thin and uncomfortable mattress. We have stayed at "budget" hotels that were much nicer.

We stayed for my nieces graduation from High school. We stayed for about a week. The room we wanted some on decided to stay longer so we did not have our 2 beds but they upgrade US to a kitchen and king size bed room. That was okay but our toilet was broke all week. Had to beg to have them keep the plunger there so we can fix it. The beds are ROCK hard and the couch pull out was spring poking. I understand about keeping the grounds clean but they started right at 7 mowing and cutting down trees and I ran over a rake because of it as well. Communication between front staff and people need to be better. We will be back in 2 years for my other niece well c were we stay then. Plus they charged us different rates for different days which was wrong. They owe us a free stay is how I feel.

Great place to have a good time with your friends. But also lame staff. Meant for old couples and nothing better in the end.

They've been more than accommodating. I found myself in a situation, as I just moved from Jacksonville, FL, to Oakland, CA. I wasn't able to move in on my desired date, so I decided to stay outside the city. I found Los Gatos Lodge online, and gave it a shot. The main reason was because I was traveling with my dog. This hotel allows dogs, and they don't mind if you leave your pet in the room for awhile if you want to hit the nearby town. As long as they're well behaved. Everything is kept clean, it's safe, and there's plenty of grass to walk your dog.

The rooms pictured on the hotel's web site are not indicative of what you'll end up in. They're remodeling, but none of our four rooms were done. Their condition was like a North Las Vegas motel you'd share with your college buddies. Very nice staff and grounds, however. I'm hoping they take a page from the Ace and other cool, old motel's play books and clean the place up. Note MY photos on in the photos section. Note the owner's. Note the difference.

We had a restful evening on our back patio watching the birds and squirrels play, staff was friendly and brought us extra items quickly as asked, breakfast was good and plentiful, right off the freeway but didn't hear traffic.

The employees were really nice. I liked the large private balcony I had. I liked that there was a refrigerator in the room. They had a nice pool.
