The advertised airport shuttle is unreliable. We made a reservation for a 7:08 am shuttle and waited until 7:35 before calling a cab so we wouldnt miss our flight. The staff at the front desk was no help. They did not offer to call a cab for us or comp us the $20 cab fare. They seemed completely unconcerned, basically telling us "We have no control over the shuttle" and "what did you expect for free? " Well I expected this hotel to live up to its advertising and provide a free shuttle at the time we reserved. We could have stayed at a dozen hotels close to the airport and gotten a free shuttle without the stress. Apparetly the 'free shuttle' is only an advertising gimmick for this place. Don't fall for it.

WOW! Best kept secret in San Fran, Reasonable Rates, free breakfast and parking. Rooms big and CLEAN and BASIC! Parking is in a covered safe deck. FRONT DESK IS VERY NICE and a printer and computer to use in the lobby!

Extremely pleased with this place, staff is out standing very friendly. Breakfast Is from 6:30-9-30 We got there at 9:27 they still let us get breakfast and if we needed something they will put it out for us to eat. Beds comfortable!

I think the hotel is good you get what you pay for. Breakfast is fine. And the rooms are clean and well maintained.

Quick service. Friendly ppl clean establishment. Way better than the one on Pacific.

Wow! Just can't say enough good things about this place! Helpful and friendly staff, large comfortable rooms, WONDERFUL beds, luxurious bathrooms, on and on I could go. But it's everything a hotel should be! If you book early enough, the rates are more than reasonable. But if you wait too long they are usually booked up.

I stayed here with 4 yr old son for a 1 day get away. This place is very clean and nice. Great Staff. Very helpful and attentive. Will definitely stay again.

As close to airport, business hotels go it's decent. We only stayed here overnight to catch a very early flight so we spent a very limited time here but the room was clean and comfortable and it was not too far from the airport. I will use it again, the next time I fly out of sfo early.

Rooms are spacious, specially for a small hotel such as this one. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Breakfast has limited options but everything is fresh and clean. Bed was comfortable although pillows were a bit form for me. Lastly, the parking is free for guests but underground and thus a bit crammed, specially for larger vehicles. Great hotel for the price, when I return for work I'll book same hotel.

This is the first time we’ve stayed here and definitely not the last. The room is small but clean and smells fresh, the bed is comfy and they have a fridge and microwave which I always need whenever we travel with out kids. The staff are very nice, accomodating and friendly. Good breakfast too.

The Aura punches well above its weight… I've stayed at plenty of higher price hotels which aren't anywhere near as comfortable or well furnished as the Aura. Rooms may be a little smaller than say at a Hilton or a Marriott, but they are, clean, well equipped, and most importantly, they have comfortable beds. Staff are exceedingly friendly and helpful, and the buffet breakfast is of an excellent standard. I would go so far as to say you'll be hard pressed to get as good an SFO airport hotel at anywhere near the price. This is likely to become my port of choice, during stop-overs.

The room was quite small but cozy and warm. Quite decent and worth the price. The bed was comfy and clean. The front desk staff was friendly and professional. The breakfast was good with waffle, boiled eggs, oatmeal, toast, and lots of other things. The only thing that ruined our trip was the attitude of a Mexican lady who worked here and took care of the breakfast section. She was so rude to us as she said: "Do you know how much it (the waffle iron) costs? Don't break it" as she saw me hesitated using it. It seemed that this hotel was trendy to Spanish community as we were the only three people who did not utter a single Spanish word surrounded by four to five table only speaking Spanish with each other. We stayed here just probably twenty-four hour as we had an early morning flight to Hawaii the second day so that the breakfast on the first morning was the only experience I could remember about this place.

Good Choice Hotel near downtown San Francisco California.

I stayed here for a night with my girlfriend yesterday, and I highly recommend it if you are stuck between 2 deals in the same area, even if this one might be a few bucks more. Young man at front desk during the night shift was really nice. The room was too nice. Clean, comfy bed, big TV easy to work. Clean bathroom, and huge breakfast. Toast/waffle maker with mix! /muffins/instant oatmeal/fruit/eggs/cereal/juice/coffee. Had a very small parking garage you pull into to get into the lobby. Not sure if that's the only parking/entrance. But walking into the lobby you know you didn't get ripped off.

Great service and hospitality. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Free continental breakfast is plus! I didn't have to worry about what or where to eat before heading off to meetings all day. Definitely recommend.

For what it is, an Airport Hotel, it's fine. I definitely would not look to book for more than a night or two; however, if you're needing to get up early for a flight or done with downtown and needing a cheaper alternative, this place will do. Overall the appearance is neat and clean, the front desk staff very friendly, and parking somewhat secure compare to on most hotels. Like a lot of smaller boutique hotels, this place is showing some wear and tear. I found a damaged shutter, a very loose toilet seat and some of the furniture is showing signs of wear. Plus — the place has free parking, a free airport shuttle and is not far from Bart & Caltrain.

Our family (2 adults and 2 children under age 5) stayed at Hotel Aura 09/27/17 — 09/28/17 prior to a flight out of SFO. I am very pleased with our stay. The hotel was clean and modern, staff was friendly, and the location was very convenient. We stayed on the first floor on the side opposite the main street and it was very quiet. The free breakfast was sufficient (with cereal, waffles, bagels, muffins, bananas, coffee, etc. ). I would recommend Hotel Aura and definitely stay there again.

My husband Frank and I enjoyed staying there. Courteous by character best describes the staff and extremely considerate. It was handicapped accessible as well. Hope your stay was as comfortable as ours.

Very nice hotel and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I didn't have a water bottle and they didn't sell any. When I asked pravina about where to buy one, she gave me her bottle of water (unopened of course) to take on my travels. Very sweet of her.

Near the airport, free parking. Rooms affordable and very large. Breakfast has the basics stuffs. Good place after landing if you want to have a rest.

Shuttle — It was quite convenient and arrived right when we requested. Our flight was canceled and the front desk was helpful and quickly scheduled a different, later shuttle Rooms — The rooms were nice and clean, with a modern bathroom and plenty of soaps, shower caps, etc. Shutters covered the unpleasant street view, and added a nice touch to the room. There was the usual coffee maker, along with an empty mini-fridge that was quite convenient. Breakfast — There were the bare minimums — cereal, toast, hard boiled eggs, instant oatmeal, and a waffle maker. The dining area was clean, but if you want anything special I recommend eating out. Location-A forty minute Uber to downtown San Francisco. Not near anything noteworthy besides the airport. Overall the hotel left me with no complaints, though it certainly is nothing special.

Clean and pleasant. Friendly & helpful staff. Felt much nicer than your typical 2 star hotel.

I'll say don't go here because I'd rather keep it my secret go to place. Not fancy but very nice and updated rooms. Location is fantastic, step out the door and 100 yards to beach, ten yards to light rail to down town, antwo blocks from golden gate park. I couldnt have found a better place for price and convenience. Highly recommend (except on weeks I want to come back)

Love that it is a close drive into San Francisco, check in was fast, the rooms are nice and clean … parking a plus … breakfast could have been a little better not a very huge breakfast selection, only reason I can't give them a 5! Is because the women at the breakfast counter (gave you an answer with an attitude) she could have greated the guest with a smile and a good morning… she had a face like saying … please don't ask me for anything, it's to early for this! housekeeping gave us the extra towels we needed! I would definitely stay here!

Close to the airport, with a free shuttle, clean rooms, good size. We never heard anyone. Decent breakfast selection.

The hotel is nice, the rooms are acceptable as size and clean.
The area though is not the best, say it is great if you have to stay pre or post flight, but if the intention is to visit the city the recommend saw the traffic that should be dealt with every day and distance from points of interest. I would call it more one of those hotels "touch and Getaway" not for the service but for the location.

Room was really nice, breakfast wasn't much different from other hotel breakfasts, except there's no hot food (eggs, sausage). Front desk was nice.

This is really underrated place on other popular review sites but it is really good place. Rooms are big, decent breakfast and very courteous staff.

The Hotel Aura is splendid! The location is close to the airport, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, I always stay in this hotel because it's great.

We enjoyed the breakfast as well as having a refrigerator and microwave in the room was a plus. Breakfast attendant was also very polite.

The rooms are well maintained. I was pleased with the bathroom stone it was clean. Breakfast is available in the morning, however they have white bread but not whole wheat bread.

My friends and I stayed at this hotel for our trip to San Francisco and were very pleased overall. Staff was very friendly (especially Kumar (Sam) at the front desk), the beds and pillows were super comfy, and the room was very spacious for other hotel rooms I have been to with 2 queen beds in them. The breakfast was also more than I have come to expect from similar priced hotels, having a waffle maker, hard boiled eggs, muffins, danishes, bread and bagels to toast, milk, orange juice, apple juice, cereal, etc. You do have to get there before the last half hour of breakfast though or the options start to dwindle as things run out from being eaten by other guests. We had no issues with available parking or with the Wi-Fi in the building. Everything was pretty great. Thumbs up from us and we'd definitely stay there again if we head to San Francisco. It's much cheaper and only 25 mins away.

Stayed here just for one night. My husband got bedbugs. This hotel is surrounded by residential area so you are likely to see someone's houses right outside your windows.

Good location near the airport. City center is 15 min by car.

Our experience was short — about 7 hours, literally just a place to crash before a 3 am wake up for an earlier departure out of SFO. My only major complaint was that the bed SUCKED, zero comfort. My wife had a minor complaint that the room smelled like a 'foot'. My minor complaint is that the 'downstairs' parking was not to be found. This became irrelevant to us as we snagged a spot in the limited parking right off the street. Totally not worth the price we paid, but the room served its purpose.

My parents said they had a great experience. They were there just for the night, but they said everyone was very nice. They had the handicapped room which is right by the lobby, and they said they never heard any noise coming from the airport, the street or the lobby. My parents said they really enjoyed this hotel and plan on going there on their way home as well.

It is OK. Budget friendly, and you get what you paid for.

Stayed 3 night when visiting San Francisco and I did not regret booking by the airport, not really that far from SF, heard very little noise, clean room great bathrooms, Great breakfast, muffins oatmeal, bagels, juice, very good, near, Round Table, IHop, and a bar. There is a club down the street and when I went the Police were stationed there and kept pulling people over so noise that night but that was the police's fault :) Parking was great but a little dark would not recommended for people who hate walking in dark rooms. Overall great fro the price very clean.

I am not sure if I picked the wrong time to stay at this hotel or if everyone else who gave this place a good review is out of their mind — but I had a terrible experience! I lived in S. San Fran for 3 years. I know the area, so I knew that the surrounding area looks worse than it really is, so that didn't bother me or scare me away. Your car is safe, it's nice that they have free parking, free internet, and they are not only close to the airport but also to the Bart. I can even deal with the sub-par "complimentary" breakfast — composed of cereal, toast/bagels, and some packaged danishes and muffins (all of which are very dry from being stored in the refrigerator). I wasn't expecting the RITZ, however, I do expect hot water for showers and a working toilet! When I called down to the front desk to inform them of these issues, I was met with a flippant attitude from the manager. I was told that I would need to be patient and wait for maintenance to show up (which was at some unknown time) and that until then, I would need to fill up the trash can with water and pour that into the toilet in order for it to flush. As for the hot water — if they're at a "full house" the water haters are not equipped to heat the water. We didn't even have luke warm water — it was ice cold! In 60 degree weather (which is normal for San Francisco) an ice cold shower is not acceptable!
