My gf & I stayed there for a night on Feb 11. The front desk ladies were so courteous. My flight got in early so we went to the hotel & they were actually able to check us in 2.5hrs early. All the staff were very kind. Our room was amazing. Will definitely be back.

This is our favorite close to home getaway. Staff is great and the rooms are amazing. Can walk next door to Sam's Chowder House in 2 minutes. Love the smell of the ocean and the sound of the fog horn.

We were greeted by friendly staff in a timely manner. They recommended several
places to eat dinner and the room was great! They also had complimentary breakfast delivered to our room. We enjoyed a wonderful view on the third floor and the ambiance of a fireplace was a nice!

The entire staff was super friendly and helpful from the second we walked into the hotel. With their change of operations due to the Covid scare they were right there when I called and asked for extra dishes, extra blankets and trash to be taken out. They answered all my questions. We felt totally pampered. I highly recommend staying here I know we will again. We are a happy and satisfied family. Viver.

Wonderful rooms, great views! The rooms were clean and the staff were so nice too! There were so many animals around the hotel — bunnies, birds, pelicans! The balcony offered a fantastic view. We loved it!

It’s comfortable with fireplaces mini kitchen, right on the beach, steps to one of my favorite restaurants I been going to for over 40 years with the best food. In and outdoors seething with heaters, again right on the ocean. The staff was very friendly, and helpful. Can’t wait to return☀️

We enjoyed our stay. We had 3 rooms for a family get together. The rooms were comfortable and clean. They had plenty of room to enjoy some family time. The hotel staff was very nice, courteous and helpful. We took part in the wine tasting and enjoyed talking to other guests. We liked being within walking distance to several local restaurants and activities. We then went horse back riding at the Sea Horse Ranch down the road. We have already booked for next summer!

I love this hotel. I've stayed in the Jr Suite and the Penthouse Suite with Ocean facing view for special occasions. I love the views, the big bed, the empty mini fridge to store things, and that you can step out to the beach and take a stroll. The hotel isn't extravagant, but it to me it feels like what I would want if I lived in a studio and put it on the beach. The staff are very welcoming and there is a free continental breakfast with bagels, pastries, etc. And organic coffee.

The room was nice and the view was incredible. The hotel grounds were also very clean and kept up. I was disappointed though in the level of service and amenities. Not to say those that work here weren't courteous — they were. However, for the price you are paying, I expected exemplary service. When checking in, the front desk attendant was on the computer for about five minutes (and did say she would help me in a bit) while I stood and waited to be helped. She wasn't on the phone with anyone and there was no one else around. When she finally helped me, she seemed a bit cold. I also was disappointed there was no restaurant/full menu in-room dining or at least a bar. I would stay here again just for the view from your room, but I definitely think there should be some better service and more amenities when paying $400+ a night.

This was the second time we stayed at the Beach House and it will definitely not be our last time! We love the beauty of the location and all that the area has to offer, but it's the helpful and friendly staff that made all the difference in this past visit! Lisa and Lauren went many extra miles to help make our stay the most comfortable as possible. I had developed a sensitivity to the cleaning products that were used in the first room assigned to us. Lisa came to the room immediately to check it out and, since there were not other rooms available that night, she changed our room the following day, insuring that organic cleaners had been used. What could have been a very uncomfortable stay — (or necessitated our leaving prematurely) was thoughtfully turned around for us. My husband and I really felt like our concerns were heard and, promptly and favorable addressed and acted upon. This CA trip was a celebration of my retirement. A big thank you to Dana, the general manager, Lisa, front desk manager and Lauren, front desk all-around really nice and helpful person, for helping my daughter arrange for a surprise massage through their onsite spa services. I was greeted in my room with a handwritten congratulatory note and a bottle of wine! Such welcomed, personal touches! The hotel's massage spa service is beyond compare! The massage I received from Benson was truly the best I have ever received anywhere! His knowledge and professionalism were outstanding!

We made a last minute reservation and had a lovely experience. The property is beautiful with such attention to detail in decor. Loved the explanation of the prints in our room. Our " partial view" was delightful. The ladies we met working here were most pleasant. Loved that wine was available for purchase. We didn't want to even leave the room so it would have been nice if we could have found a way to get food! haha. Nice pool and spa and morning breakfast.

Lovely hotel with a lot of facilities. Love the small kitchen with coffeemaker and the refrigerator. Nice pool and hot tub. Great atsmopfere. Only disappointment was the breakfast which gave no alternative at all for an gluten allergic and a milk allergic except fruit. It wold have been easy to add some soymilk, oats, cornflakes, raisins and boiled eggs.

I wish I lived here. Our 2nd floor corner room was amazing. The view was great, the fireplace is awesome, and the shower was fantastic. Within walking distance to good restaurants, and of course the beach and marina. Beds are super comfortable, nothing else I could want from a room.

The rooms are very nice, heated hot tub is wonderful after a long day of sight seeing. The breakfast options are terrible. It's the only regrettable part of staying here a full week. The only options are fresh cut fruit, pastry/bagel assortment, and juice and milk. The coffee is so mild it's brown hot water. It sucks to smell actual food cooking for their catering and know all you are going to get is another bagel every morning of your stay. Great place for rooms but make sure to keep breakfast items in your room if you are looking for more than a carbo load.

Beautiful views over Half Moon Bay (even when cloudy). You can definitely hear the foghorn, but we were able to drown that out with a fan that was already in the room. Service including wine and cheese reception and continental breakfast were excellent with some great recommendations for things to do coming from the hotel staff. Definitely recommend!

Wonderful view from our room. No complaints about the Beach House except we had to leave it to get back home. Hope we get to go back soon.

Marvelous! Stayed in suite overlooking the bay. All the amenities were provided. Loved the kitchenette and supplies. Housekeeping was prompt and thorough. A bit pricey but worth the splurge. Really feels just like your own beach house.

Very, very, very nice and beautiful place. My husband and I came to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and it was perfect! Staff were extremely nice and courteous. The access to the beach was great. Loved the ocean view from room balcony. Very romantic atmosphere with the fireplace! I have no complaints, except that if you're not used to hearing the foghorn all night, that could be a little annoying, but you're next to the harbor, so it's expected. Can't wait to come back and stay longer. March 31, 2018

The Beach House Inn is a beautiful hotel. The view is gorgeous! Our room had a kitchenette that was perfect for our stay. Everything was clean and comfortable. Great staff!

We have stayed here many times and have always had a wonderful experience. 50% percent of our enjoyment comes from the spectacular placement right on the ocean, the other 50% from the wonderful staff and amenities. Add an bonus 50% for the best weather we've experienced here. We always book an ocean view because we both have a long association with the Navy and need to see the ocean every once in a while coming from the desert where we now live. This trip we experienced a nice upgrade to the top floor, spectacular weather, and, especially, staff who found and forwarded to us my wife's stash of jewelry that we left behind. Made her very happy which, of course, made me very happy. Easy access to the busy city but it's another low-key world in HMB. We'll be back!

It is a quaint little 3 story hotel. Very friendly staff. The hot tub was very large, so people weren't clumped together with strangers. The walk to the beach was not terrible, although there is not much of a beach during high tide.

We love everything about this quaint oceanside hotel. The rooms are spacious, modern, and comfortable with a fireplace and kitchenette. Our room had an amazing view of the ocean and we were fortunate enough to arrive in time for a beautiful sunset. The hotel hosts a free evening wine and cheese event as well as a free breakfast. We are going to have to make this place part of our holiday tradition each year. Thank you Beach House. We will be back!

Of course the location is beautiful. Staff was awesome. Beautiful fireplace. Nice bed. But for a rate of $327/nt. The room is in need of updates. Fridge did not seal shut. Missing window screen and faded upholstery. Bathroom needed updating.

Nice quiet hotel with clean rooms and comfortable bed. View and grounds in back are soothing and front desk is very helpful. Complimentary breakfast was OK, but all carbs. No valet and you have to park and carry luggage inside. Although the hotel is nice, the value here is not as good as many other places we have stayed.

We loved our stay at the Beach House Hotel! It is a beautiful hotel and situated in a gorgeous spot in Half Moon Bay! Our room was very clean and always cleaned well every afternoon. We also greatly appreciated the Beach House's commitment to the environment. The staff were very friendly throughout and attentive. We greatly enjoyed the daily morning breakfast and wine and cheese cocktail hour. It was great to be able to enjoy our goodies on the patio. The hot tub and pool were also a great addition. The entire weekend was beautiful!

Very nice hotel, but in all honesty, the view isn't that great and the fog horn goes constantly. Very nice rooms, amenities, and hotel services. But for how expensive this hotel really is, you would better putting your money into a cheaper hotel where you could actually hear waves and the water. Or you can chose this one and not sleep at night do to the fog horn and pay the extraordinary fee.

Excellent front desk service, they happily loaned searched for and loaned us phone chargers. Wine and cheese was a sociable event, met and talked to enjoyable, relaxing guests. Huge room. So big, forgot to hang out on patio. Room had a nice sized bath tub and plenty of drawers. Romantic fireplace in the room.

I took my boyfriend here as a surprise birthday getaway. We were in love with the Beach House Hotel! The view was beautiful, the staff were very nice and accomodating. They gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne to celebrate, complimentary wine and cheese in the lobby in the evening, a complimentary breakfast, the pool is open rain or shine and it's nicely heated. In the evening we wanted to go for a walk but we didn't have a flash light so the front desk girl (wish I cou…ld remember her name but she worked the evening of February 17th, young hispanic girl) let me borrow one and even let me borrow her pepper spray. Of course the location is safe but it's still better to be safe than sorry. This place isn't the ritz, but that's exactly why we loved it, felt like home. Oh and the beer was a good price too. The fire place is wonderful, very cozy. Thank you to the front desk clerk Johana for your hospitality, we felt very welcomed. We will be back for sure!

As long as you are okay with the $$$, this is a wonderful inn. It is situated on the water inlet and harbor area with a walking path and short dune in between. The light sound of waves is so welcome while you light a fire in the fireplace. Clean rooms, well equipped with a small kitchen. Enjoy coffee, juice, fruit, pastry, bagels and cream cheese or jam in the mornings and bring a tray to your room. At 5:30-6:30 have some cheese, crackers and wine downstairs (we brought our up snd ate on the small cozy deck). Some have mentioned the fog horn sounding. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being noisy, I have a hard time giving it a 1 or 2. Honestly, we travel a bunch and this was one of the most quiet rooms I have been in anywhere in the world. We were on the top floor in room 308, so maybe the advantage of being upstairs. Parking is no problem. Walk to Sam's for seafood and music (weekends music? ). We recommend going to Cetrella, a intimate, excellent service and wonderful food. For those of you that like to walk or run, a six mile mostly paved trail right outside. For jazz lovers, nearby Bach Dancing and Dynamite Society. We will be back and we are just over the mountain from it.

Nice place to stay in half moon bay. Very expensive, however, if you are looking to spend a nice evening next door to Sam's Chowder House, this is a must.

It was a beautiful room with a great view. Easy access to the beach as well as within walking distance of shops. Walking paths along the beach are available just outside of the hotel. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Excellent place to stay. Beach was close. Rooms were very nice and ocean view. Staff was great too. No complaints.

My wife and I along with our to young boys just spent Friday night and Saturday. The staff is so accommodating even allowing a little earlier check in. Everything was amazing. We have stayed in the garden view the partial ocean and full ocean (obvious full ocean was the best) but the rooms are layed out so well. Even with children. The wine and cheese hour on Friday night was a nice touch. It wasn't super warm out yet the pool was very comfortable. An awesome meal in our room from Sams next door then a 10 minute walk to the cafe by the harbor for cookies and gelato. Perfect location. Woke up Saturday and went to tide pools by pillar point. It was a fantastic weekend. We'll be coming here for along time. Thank you all at The Beach House.

By: Joseph and darnice glasper, The couples massage was excellent. The view was excellent. We slept with the patio door open and liked the sound of the fog horn and the sunrise.

If you can afford to stay here, stay somewhere else. I miss the star ratings, I'd leave two for this place. We stayed here once before a couple of years ago, we got a beach view room on the upper level, and the room they gave us: the door lock was inconsistent. They had to give us a new room. It would ways show yellow. Even when we got it right from the desk it would work once, close the door try it again, and not work. The new room, was okay, it's been a few years, so since I don't remember anything else wrong it must have been fine after that. This time we got a beachview room on the lower level. The toilet clogs up really easily the shower doesn't drain well, so you kind of have to hurry or the water will over flow out onto the floor. The breakfast is something that you would expect from motel 6, not from a place you pay over $200 for. (We didn't wake up for breakfast last time). Then to top it off, they don't offer combs as one of the "forgetful" items. They said they had toothbrushes, and toothpaste, so it didn't even sound like they had razors. I personally won't pay to stay here again. However, I do love the view, and watching the boats come in and out of the harbour, I really like the foghorn, it does have a nice sound to it. When it's quiet enough you can hear it echo.

This is a very nicely appointed hotel with a wonderful beachy feel. The junior suite on the 2nd floor was very nice though a bit narrow for 3 people to move around. The balcony overlooking the bay was also nice, but not very private. We felt like we were sitting alongside our neighbors. And could hear every cough and conversation they had. The fog horn goes off regularly every few minutes 24/7. It is not super loud and a room fan could drown it out. That was okay with us might bother some guests. The breakfast was rather skimpy — — pastries and breads and a fruit bowl. I only mention these shortcomings since this is a rather expensive hotel and want fellow travelers to be aware. This is still a very posh place with a nice pool area with outdoor seating to enjoy the wonderful view.

Change it to the Fog Horn Hotel! Fog Horn goes all night every night. If you close the windows it gets super hot so either way you can't ever get sleep. Nice view though.

The view was great and Sam's Chowder House is right next door. The one thing I didnt liks is the all night horn that blasts about every 10 seconds. They do supply ear plugs, but I didnt see them until the next morning. Plus, I wanted to hear the ocean and not plug my ears! LOL! The food is also good. Its a good mix of pastries and juices and coffee and they have a wine and cheese tasting in the evenings. We're going back in June for our vow renewal :).

Such a cozy atmosphere. Hotel is clean, quiet and well staffed. Our second visit and again we were reminded why this will be a favorite place to visit. Beach is only yards from the hotel, restaurants and other establishments within walking distance or the simple ability to sit out on the patio and enjoy the scene.

Thank you all for making our first visit to Half Moon Bay a worth-remembering experience. Our stay in the Beach House is the best compared to the other places we've been to. You made our 6 year anniversary meaningful.
