First off, when we arrived to check in, one of us requested a ground floor room. We where told that they where all booked so we accepted a second floor room. Turns out the toilet didnt work, the room smelled like old curry, the beds where dirty, and there was hair in the drain of the tub. So we called in to get it fixed or get moved to a working room. They told us they couldn't fix it till 8 in the morning and that they had a 2 bed room available for a little more expensive. We accepted this and said we would have to get it approved by the government before we could move. That morning we left for work before the maintenance people could arrived so around 10, a little after we got confirmation to go ahead and move rooms, we called in to check on the status and we where told that the room was no longer available and the toilet was been fixed. No longer willing to stay in that room, having received the go ahead to move, my boss took over the call and he had a conversation with the manager till they made arrangements to move us but we still had to stay another night in the first room. Turns out the toilet wasn't fixed, it was starting to flush after a long time or once every 5 flushes, never seen a toilet act like that. We had to pack our stuff up and take it with us in preparation for moving rooms. the next day we went through work and called to confirm and they where ready to move us into a 2 bed for the same rate. We arrived at the room on the third floor, not the first like had been originally requested, and it had the same old curry smell but a little lighter this time. The counter had burns on it and the freezer had an odd smell. Beds where fine this time, but the shower walls were dirty. Oh, also the TV is on some timer so it auto shuts off if you dont click or do anything for a few hours and it only has about 10 channels or so… thank god 2 of them were showtime because espn would have driven me nuts. To make this worse, when it turns off you cant just turn it back on to showtimes, it turns on at volume 8 (not the volume you set it to previously) and on some over dramatic, bullshit, entertainment police news show… which froze for 3 or 4 days straight on the same creepy image… so every time I turned it on there was that same image, I begun tediously clicking the volume just to avoid it. I guess I could be happy that the toilet worked this time… Oh, and the phone wasn't plugged in, it had a line but it didn't have any power to it (nor to the nightstand radio/alarm clock thing but the phone was a bigger deal) so if we had any issues we had to go to the front desk to talk about them. Too bad for the front desk I am not afraid of some face time. Things moved along until it came time to check out. My boss asked them the night before the morning we had to check out if there was any process we needed to handle to check out at 5 in the morning the next day. The manager had told the counter lady to make a note and we where told all we would need to do is turn in our key cards. next morning came, we went downstairs and found some of our crew standing at the front desk and they told us that the front desk couldn't print out receipts for our paid stay. We couldn't leave without those receipts if we wanted to get paid so we then had to stay at the front desk, you can bet my boss was calling around and losing his voice yelling at every hotel manager he could get a hold of, even though we made sure to check with them so everything would be ready for us to head out. Some of our guys where not even from California and they where all been held up from going home, after two weeks of been away from there families, because the counter lady didn't have permission to have a code to print receipts (yes, the manager could have just told her, instead he made us wait for him). I would go on about how this delay caused us to get stuck in traffic and all the other issues we ran into due to this delay but I will leave the review at my direct experience with the hotel itself.
