From the outside I was nervous about how the inside would look BUT I was pleasantly surprised. The inside was very modern and the rooms were a nice size. I was equally impressed with the free breakfast. The best part of my stay was one of the housekeeping staff named Sandra. She saw me struggling to take 2 cups of juice upstairs from the breakfast room and offered to help me. She helped me all the way up to my room and engaged me in conversation. That kind gesture will always stick with me.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. Parking was convenient and there was plenty spots left even when we got back late.

We stayed at a Mission Bay La Quinta for $240 a night. Definitely pricy but clean and a safe location. You get ripped off at any San Diego hotel but you get a free breakfast. No pool or places to sit and relax other than your room. Our room was right off the check in area which was a bad idea, really noisy. Got to get awaken all night by people whining about their bad night or that the location was booked. Plus we were accross the hall from the dining area so it was noisy. Best to stay on a upper floor! Their shampoo, body wash and soap was low grade cheap items, best to pack your own. Pretty good coffee and breakfast was decent.

It's a great place to stay if you want to be right next to the beach and all the major attractions. The only slight drawback was the parking. The room, breakfast, and service was great! I will be back soon! Loved it!

This hotel is clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast and clean sheets. The location is not that great but it is kind of close to train station. Not too loud but they do allow dogs I guess. One night on my 4 night stay there was a really big dog down the hall barking everytime someone walked by or made noise outside in the hallway. They have free parking for your stay so that's a plus. The rooms are clean and roomy. No balcony but the beach is about 10-15minutes away by car.

Friendliest hotel I have ever stayed at. Convenient to the beach area. Easy to find. Tricky to access at first. Whay you expect from a mis level hotel.

Great place to stay! Located close to the airport as well as Sea World and the zoo, also very close to the freeways. Very clean and wonderful staff. Free breakfast, parking and reliable Wi-Fi. Swimming pool and hot tub as well.

Helpful staff and very accommodating when they remember to be. Onsite management gets 5 stars. Note to owner: Facility needs work. Rooms can be noisy with upstairs and neighbor room noise (doors, toilet seat, showers, and walking noise from above-stay on top floor! ). Amenities are slowly falling apart. You can tell this is a highly visited hotel. Funky holes in walls where plumbing and electrical are. Parking spaces are tiny. Can't open car door to get out when lot is full. Street parking is a better option. Little things need attention if guests are charged 129+ per night. I'm a rewards member and stay at a lot of LQs all over the west.

Decent enough — elevator sounds a little scary, we arrived late and the person at the front desk was flustered and odd. Sort of a sketchy neighborhood, there were homeless people near the garage. Good location, close to a lot of things. Continental breakfast was pretty good but had the same things daily (we were there for 4 days).

Great service, looks like they are working to make the exterior look a little better with paint. The location is very central, but can be a pain to get to the first time. Definitely would stay again.

Very good care of first but in South.

It is quite good for the price level. It comes with free parking and breakfast. It is a lot of saving for a family trip. It's location is very central and just minute away from the highway for Sea World or the zoo. The hotel is clean and the staff is super helpful. The biggest complaint is the parking. It takes some skills to maneuver in and out of the parking if you drive a full size car.

A tour operator hotel
This is a hotel that is not new based on many US establishments. Room with large bed, TV, air conditioning etc.
It is located near the fast lane next to a large garage. Avoid a room close to these two drawbacks. Breakfast is basic but served in a small room.
There are elevators and parking.
For a night it's fine, but don't dream of an enchanting setting.
Tip for the room: Take a room as far away from the fast lane and on the other side of the garage.

Great location, easy access. Great friendly staff. Breakfast wad good, but could use an upgrade on the plastic utensils. Would definitely stay here again.

Great value. Great location for exploring the area. Friendly and helpful staff. The only negative is that the pool and hot tub are quite small. Probably fine if you just have little kids who need to splash around, but don't expect to do laps. Not far from Mission Beach, though, so if the water temperature is high enough, just swim there.

This is a very good hotel for what it is, which is a decently budget-priced hotel with good staff, clean rooms, good Wi-Fi, and above average breakfast options for this kind of place. I've now stayed here twice and the only thing odd about it is it's location and parking layout since the front desk is on level 2 but most parking is on level 1. Also, a king bed if you're alone or a couple is better than two queen beds because it comes with a couch in the room.

This is the third or fourth time that I have stayed here. The proximity to Pacific Beach, a trader Joe's, multiple food places, and a great dive bar help but each time it's been hit or miss. This time I've experienced killing a cockroach in my room and having a room against the elevator which has made my sleep difficult. Normally I like this place but this time I am a little let down.

It was nice, clean, safe. The view was lacking. The beds are soft. The breakfast was minimal. The room size was big. The parking is terrible, smallest parking under the hotel. Only ok if you have a small car, we have a sonata and it was really tight.

Extremely nice place. Smells brand new and is very clean. Michelle at the front desk was very nice and welcoming after our long drive. Wet would definitely stay again.

The room and hotel were clean and modern. The free breakfast was average. The staff were courteous and friendly. The only complaint was that the room and hall smelled like wet carpet, which the halls were.

Hotel is clean, welcoming and newly refurbished. Parking was easy, check in smooth and rook clean and comfortable. It's an older building but freshly refurbished and for the price a great choice for a simple stay in San Diego. The breakfast room was nice as well. The pool is on the small side but definitely a decent hotel for a brief family stay.

Very nice and well maintained. Breakfast had a variety and was well stocked. Fresh fruit, waffles, yogurt and more. Staff was very friendly.

Hotel staff was friendly. The room was great and clean. No issues at all. Only reason I give it 4 stars is because the eggs at the Continental breakfast were kinda gross. Literally the only reason. Otherwise it was great!

Great rooms for the price. Very clean, staff was great, breakfast was better than acceptable. Rooms were updated and beds were comfortable. 10/10, would come again.

Excellent customer service. The front desk staff was exceptional! The room was contemporary, hardwood floors, small refrigerator and microwave. Great location near the beach, Seaworld and other San Diego attractions. I will definitely will be back!

Quaint well located hotel, friendly staff. Small car park. Lovely room, comfy bed but tje pillows were all hard. Not many vegan options at breakfast but they let me take my own milk & yogurt. More fruit would have been good.

A friend and I wanted an affordable hotel that also accepts dogs and near the ocean. We looked a lot online and chose this hotel. We are very pleased with our decision. We had no problem finding it. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. When we needed something it was addressed immediately. Room was clean, nights were quiet and breakfast was very good… availability included toast, muffins, bagels, cereals, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, sausages, yogurt, etc. Person assigned to cover eating area was very friendly and helpful. The front desk person printed out directions to local dog beaches and we visited three. If you are going for dog beaches check out Ocean beach. Great time. We also went to fiesta beach which is very nice especially if your dogs do not like waves. We went to Coronado beach which is beautiful but the walk in /out is lengthy and burning to your feet and dogs. Not fun at all. All beaches close to hotel. Only other comment is room is adequate in size but could have been bigger but this is minor.

Entrance to hotel is on a very steep hill. Looked a bit shady initially. However, clean and nice inside. Lemon water complementary when you come in, nice touch! Breakfast average. Rooms very clean and nice. Close by to McDonald's and in and out restaurants.

Not a bad place to stay. Neighborhood is a little rough and parking is tight. Also, the pool is very small. Our room was clean and the included breakfast was good. Staff was very kind and hospitable.

Pretty good place to stay if you're headed to Sea World… but the pool is less than great. The pool was barely heated, and the spa had yellow-green water. That's the one big flaw though… the rooms were clean, the breakfast well-stocked and well rounded, and the staff was very pleasant and polite. Stay here, but skip the pool and hit the beach instead.

Room size was decent but bed was comfortable. Bathroom was really clean and had towels and other bath supplies. The room had a big LCD TV with basic channels. The location is really good and travel time to most of the places in San Diego is within 20 min. During off peak hours. The hotel has a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi. Breakfast room was not really big but the food was good.

They didn't mention the first floor allowed pets. We didn't have one and the smell got to me. They allowed us to move to another floor the next day, it was a pain. Price is ok and the breakfast gets old fast.

OK hotel… Toilet was leaking and morning breakfast was subpar… The hotel overbooked the weekend and ended up with a double queen bed instead of the reserved king bed.

There was a mouse in my room. It was our 3rd day there at the La Quinta. I was working remotely from the hotel room and I SAW A MOUSE on the floor next to the bed. I freaked out! If there is one mouse, there is definately more. When I went to tell the front desk about finding a mouse in my room, he denied ever hearing about a mouse problem. It was like he was implying I brought a mouse in the hotel or made it up. Then he offered to change our room. We were already on the top floor! My husband then went back into the room to pack up our stuff to leave. An employee from the front desk went with my husband to see if he could find the mouse. Of course, a mouse isn't going to greet them when they open the door. As he was walking around the room, he offered to put up mouse traps overnight several times. If they have mouse traps, they have a mouse problem… Also, they had the audacity to try to charge us for that night. It's disgusting. This place is disgusting. When you're gone all day and come to the hotel room to sleep, think twice about the sounds in the walls at this place.

This hotel was a bad experience. Parking was bad, we were placed in a room that had construction going on in the restroom, then moved to another that had not been cleaned. The third room was the one we stayed in, but it had stains all over the beds skirts and runners on the made beds. The shower drained very slowly and the plug kept being depressed by the water flowing from the shower head. (Plus side, the water pressure was pretty strong. ) There was also a party in one of the rooms on our floor that you could hear all the way down the hall. We told the hotel about this, and they gave us a 10% discount on the room, but I cannot recommend staying here. Overall a terrible experience from a chain we usually trust, to the point we may not stay at a LaQuinta again if we haven't stayed there before.

Nice location, and nice staff. Pillows were hard and the sheets were rough on the skin. I have stay at hotels all over the world and these were the worst. Decore was really appealing as well but there was a musty smell in the hallway. Overall though not a bad stay.

Good location, rooms were pretty good, but the comforters were ripped and you could tell it was an older building. Free parking was nice and a good continental breakfast.

Our one night stay! Caution when trying to arrive at the hotel because the actual street the hotel is on is a small one and easily missed. They do have a back entrance if you circle around the block. Look the small sign on the right and go slow because then you will be going for another trip around the block. There is two levels of parking. One on the lobby floor which is small and tight so beware if you have a larger vehicle. The second is on the west side of the hotel street which is slightly bigger or at least it seemed so due to the amount of empty spaces. Check in was not as bad as the parking situation had seem. We had pre-booked our rooms and decided to pay on arrival. When paying with CASH they ask for $100 deposit and gladly except credit card with major logo. The room (Double Queen) was clean and furnished with an updated look. Each room had a flat screen Samsung TV with plenty of channel's to ease you right before bed time. Wi-Fi also avaible which helped with that morning Web search on the laptop that I always like to take versus struggling with my smart phones small screen. The room also had a mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, desk, AC, and small closet. I recommend to bring your own shampoo as they supply a small bottle which did the job but if you take plenty of showers it may not last you. When taking a shower I noticed there was a slow drain, not that big of deal.

Parking is nightmare. Sratched my new car in 4 places to the metal. beds are so bad we could not sleep. The rooms stink. They booked an school football team. 70 teens over took the hotel. No food to eat. 70 kids in dinnig area. I could not even get a piece of toast. Dirty place. The front office staff was awful. they should have got a 0 star. Stay away. Do not waste your money.

The hotel isn't bad for a "not bad for its price" hotel. We stayed for 3 nights and my biggest issues were parking and location. The rooms aren't bad and the TV actually has more than 3 channels. The parking is so tight even though there not much to begin with. And the hotel is located right off the 5. Literally but it's not in the nicest of neighborhoods. I saw McDonald's out my window the whole time. Didn't get a chance to try the pool/spa but breakfast was honestly good even though it's only served from 6am-9am. All in all, it's not bad if you're looking for not to shabby without the Hamptons price tag.

Upgraded my room for free! David was very helpful and very courteous. Room was a little small but had cool modern furnishings wish made me pick the place. Bed was a little hard but my son and I still slept well. Bathroom could have used a good cleaning. Looks like they did some construction in there and didn't clean very good after. Rest of the staff was very professional and corteous as well. I gave it four stars only because of it's location and the pool party was running a little late (The pool was right outside our room and you can hear them into the night). The view is only of the industrial neighborhood and the freeway noise is apparent. Nothing that can be controlled by the hotel or it's staff. Breakfast was good. I will give you a detail of what they had because when I looked no one else listed it. Eggs Do it yourself waffle station Sausage Biscuits and gravy 3 types of cold cereal Instant hot cereal Bananas and oranges Yogurt Orange juice Coffee Water (pitcher) Milk (pitcher) Parking was close. Right next to the elevator.

I'm only giving 2 stars because I think that 1 star reviews should be reserved for places so bad that you leave angry, but I do actually hate this hotel. I'm in shock that the average review is over 4-stars. The elevator is out-of-service. The place is dirty. The front desk man hates his job and is less than helpful. I can't sleep because the mattress is uncomfortable, the comforter is scratchy and the pillows are small and lumpy. The TV is also very small. The workout room looked like it had not been cleaned in ages and the machines were ancient and dirty. The location is also awkward. I would compare this to a dingy Motel 6.

I stayed here 2 nights while my home was getting tented. The staff is exceptionally nice and helpful. The room I got was nice and clean. I needed more towels and they were brought to me in a timely manner. It is near a Burlington Coat Factory, Walmart, Target, 3 gas stations, at least a dozen fast food places and a grocery store all within walking distance. I will stay here again and will recommend it to my friends and family.

Jasmine was awesome. She help me from the very start when I called in. The area is a little shaky, but the inside of the rooms are ok. The breakfast is really good.
